Dramas I watched in january and february 2023

New year, new dramas, I’m kinda suprised that I alredy watched a lot of dramas. So let’s go to the list:

1) Unforgettable Love

A cute and funny c-drama, about a children’s psychologist that has to treat the son of a CEO (the kid can’t speak because of a trauma). The kid treats the main girl like she is his mother, and obviosly the CEO is gonna fall in love with her. It's a light c-drama, with a couple who have good chemistry and charismatic characters. My only criticism is that it could have had fewer episodes.

2) Love in the Air

I enjoyed it, had fun watching it, but it wasn't a favorite. The story is divided between two couples, and the drama ended up being divided into two parts, 6 episodes for one, 7 episodes for the other. I thought that the story would focus more on the racing part, but they are not as relevant as it seems, the focus is on relationships. In many moments of the story I felt quite uncomfortable because of the violence, especially in the last few episodes, so if you have triggers with things related to sexual abuse, I suggest watching with caution. As for the romance, I was surprised by some scenes because they were very explicit, Thai people are not afraid to have sex scenes.

3) Between Us

I really enjoyed this one, it’s an one night stand that becomes a estabilish relationship without the couple noticing. The main couple is great, the supporting characters are very funny, there’s a drama related with the trauma of the main character, but it’s not heavy enough to make it hard to watch. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really care about the other couples, but it was not boring.

4) Bad Buddy

I had started watching it in 2022, but I didn't want it to end, so I just put it aside for a while, but in February 2023 I decided to finish it because I just love this story, so I rewatched all the episodes and watched the rest. Now I can safely say that this is one of the best dramas that exist in BLlandia, the story is simple but at the same time it doesn't make you bored, you fall in love with the characters, you root and suffer with them, the actors are incredible, and there is a lot of chemistry even though there is no sex scene (which is not necessary, by the way). The OST is wonderful too, I got addicted to "Just Friend?" and "Our song" which are sung during the story. About the ending, it has a bittersweet taste, because it's sad that they have to act like that, but at the same time there's that hope that things will get better. I feel like I'm going to carry this story with me for a while, it's a shame they didn't make a special for it.

5) My School President

Probably my FAVORITE DRAMA OF THE YEAR!! I loved so much this drama, It’s cute, funny, it’s a musical, the characters have a lot of chemestry.  It’s about a music club of a school that is in risk to be closed, so the vocalist and leader of this band tries to save the club running for president of the school, but obviosly it goes wrong and he loses it. And now he has to hope that the elected president to be merciful with them.

I love the characters, the school president (Tinn) is my favorite, he's actually a dork but to everyone he's very serious. Gun is very cool too, and he carries the most dramatic part of the story, the actor is great. The drama has a amazing OST, I recomend to listen to it too.

6) Enchanté

I didn't have much expectation for this one, because I saw a lot of people saying it wasn't very good, but I really liked it. I loved the main couple, there is a mystery in the story, but I think the relationship growth was more interesting. I loved Akk, you can feel the love he has for Theo, and the actor is great. I liked Theo but to be honest I didn't like him in the last episode because I don't think he sacrifices himself enough, I think Akk had to work harder for their relationship. Overall it's a very cute drama, it's fun, I recommend it.

Dramas I'm still watching:

1) Mr Gu 

It’s another CEO drama/ contract relationship. I’m not sure if I’ll finish this one, because with time it becomes very repetitive.

2) The Romance of the tiger and the rose

A very interesting drama about a screenwriter who one day wakes up in the drama she is writing. One thing I’m loving is the fact that the world of the drama is a matriarchy. 

3) Legally Romance

A time travel story in which an aspiring lawyer goes back to her college days and tries to change her destiny.

Ok, I'm back. And I'm gonna tell you what I've been up to. It's gonna be long, so I appreciate u If u care and gonna read It.

In winter, I applied for a job in Yellowstone National Park. Alone. As a polish girl that've never been in US. And I got the job. Shortly before my arrival part of yellowstone got flooded, some roads got devastated, so I was worried if It's not gonna work out at all and upset that I'll probably won't see some parts of the park.

I wasn't excited as I thought I'm gonna be. I still didn't pass the semester at uni, I left my flourishing social life and a potential relationship behind. Just to be shut in the forest with complete strangers on a different continent. I also spent all my savings to get there.

In June I flew to Bozeman, Montana. A day before the flight I didn't even have a suitcase. I bought one and they damaged her during my flight. I couldn't open her after I arrived, so I had to go to yellowstone wearing the same clothes as a day before, carrying bunch of stuff in my hands. I didn't sleep at all before my flight, that suppose to be 26 hours long (including time spend at airports).

The hostel wasn't the most comfortable. I had to share a room with 5 strangers including men (but one I befriended actually).

I met some cool people in the bus to yellowstone, but they got sent to a different village. They send me to a small one, where old people stay, far from touristy stuff.

Second week of being in yellowstone I got covid. They locked me for 7 days and because there's almost no wi-fi, I had not much to do. I spent 4th of July there, as killing mosquitoes as my only entertainment.

I worked for the park till September, as a hausekeeper, just making rooms in lodges for guests. There were days when It was ok and days when It would kick my butt and I was making beds crying, because I was so tired. I also found a second job as a servers assistent at the restaurant, which beside carrying heavy trays was alright, but I had to do It after my hausekeeping job, so sometimes I was working 15 hours per day, from 8 a.m till 11p.m and my legs were falling off, so I couldn't do both shifts too often.

I lived in a small cabin in the woods. First alone, then with another girl. It seemed like someone made a casting for my roomate. We immediately started talking about Pearl Jam for some reason and she told me I remind her of Hope Sadoval. Her mum worked with David Bowie, R.E.M, B-52s and Talking Heads, so we had almost the same music taste. We were both also pretty laid back and would just say bless this mess and blast some music.

There was a lot of love related drama going on. If you'll get to yellowstone they'll tell you to get a bear spray, but sometimes I wished I had a "men spray". It seemed like everybody got there ready for a summer fling. I was asked out by few of my friends, a rec center manager, a park ranger and few other men and even If It was really flattering, I didn't know what to do with them sometimes. It was pretty messy, cause almost everytime if someone liked somebody they liked another person or wasn't interested or something else was on the way. One of the guys really fall in love with me tho and we still have some kind situationship going on 🥴.

I have some unforgatable memories. Like when the village band played Space Oddity and the energy of the place was just perfect. Or when we had a campfire and we drove by the lake to watch blood moon and listened to Satellite by Elliot Smith on the ride back.

Or the best story, when I was on 21 mile hike, coming back at night, met a grizzly bear in the middle of the trail, got surrounded by bisons and end up spending a night "sleeping" on the cold ground in the dark forest, hiding from animals, digging through bushes and going to work right after with holes in my clothes, trying to explain why I didn't come to work on time.

I was crying hard when I was leaving the place, but I had a big travel plans after that.

I spent few days in Las Vegas with two guys I befriended in YNP. After that I had a two week trip around national parks in California, Arizona and Utah. I saw Zion, Bryce Canyon, Horse Shoe Canyon, Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite, San Francisco, Los Angeles - Venice, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Universal Studios. Almost everyday I was in a different place. It was great, but pretty exhausting.

And after that I flew to fucking Seattle. I stayed at @stares-at-nothing's house and we had lots of fun hanging out. We were in Forks and La Push (Twilight foreva). We got to Seattle through Kingston Ferry, to see Layne Staley's apartament, the beach where they filmed music video to Hunger Strike and Moore Theatre where Mad Season had their famous concert. We saw the Pike Place market and where on the top of Space Needle. After that we drove to see the waterfall from Twin Peaks and Roslyn where they filmed northern exposure series. We also where in Aberdeen to see Kurt's memorial under the bridge and in a witchy store in Port Thousand. Chris u r an angel and I appreciate u so much for driving me for hours to all the places I wanted to see.

After that I flew to New York by myself. I slept in a hostel in a room with 9 other women. I hang out in Central Park and Manhattan. When I got to Time Square my phone died and I didn't know how to go back to my hostel. I took my charger, but I forgot an american plug, so I had to buy one and charge my phone in the nearest starbucks. It took some time and I was late for my flight back to Poland. I spent $100 for a taxi to an airport, but still didn't make It on time. I had to rebook my flight for another $200.

So yeah, It was pretty insane. Had few breakdows, felt depressed in one of the most beautiful places in the world, worked my ass off, gained like 6kg, slept in shitty hostels and on friend's couches, got chased by men and animals, but It was worth It.

Living in a national park is a challenging, but simple lifestyle. You are a part of small community, hausing is usually free, they make you food, so you just do your job and don't have to worry. You go on hikes or just chill with your friends after work or on your days off. I was literally saving 2 years for this trip and worked there to afford It all, but I would do It again, so If you think about something bizarre like this, go for It 🤍

"THE BEST AND UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE"

My 18th birthday was a year of growth. However, no one told me how painful it would be, how painful life could be. See, growing up I was always cast as an outsider. I wanted to fit in but I always remained on the outskirts of the scene. Everywhere I went I could always remember carrying this burden. I was the quiet one, never really said much. I kept a lot on my mind all the time over-thinking, being overly self-conscious and feeling as if I was inferior to the rest of my friends. It dawned on me on my 18th birthday that my teenage years had reached its peak, but so had my life for about a decade. Even if just scam my debut party all package in my coordinate like ,table and plate,gown,cake,backdrop ,give aways,M.C, almost 11,500 scam for me , before my birthday November 15 2021, at 8pm I found out no call and chat my coordinate to my debut party I feel restless and trembling the scammer Run away the name of that coordinate is JOHN PAUL CAMANO aka CONG YEE VIKAS I tried to contact and blotter to the police station but no one answers and find I cried and fear because my I thought the birthday would not go on but my family made a way to fix my birthday somehow Thank you papa and mama to support me ever if my debut is not yet happy I wish Good health and be brave, I learned or lesson don't trust immediately and all challenges is not a reason to give up so that is my unforgatable experience in my life.

SIR NIGHTEYE: POLARIZING?? AND UNFORGATABLE

It’s been 6 weeks since episode 88 of My Hero Academia aired, the last in its fourth season, and there’s one character that’s still on my mind. Sir Nighteye (Sa Naitoai).

To be honest I was quite confused after my first encounter with Sir Nighteye. He seemed like the typical uptight intellectual you see in most anime (and like most he had a peculiarity, that thing of him having an appreciation for humor). And this bothered me cause he didn’t feel like someone who had spent years fighting crime side by side with the once No.1 hero, All Might.

Over the course of the episodes leading up to the raid of the Shie Hassaikai mansion, the show uses its impeccable narrative focalization to give its viewers more insight into Nighteye’s stance as a pro hero. Nighteye’s quirk, Foresight, allows him to see the entire future of a person provided he first touches and then looks them in the eye. The fact that he can see the future of a target in great detail (second for second), makes his quirk one of the most impressive seen in the show’s fourth season (let’s not forget chisaki kai’s overhaul though…dude has the power of creation and destruction. he has full control over matter!!!). We learn that when Nighteye used his quirk on all might, he saw the death of the world’s No.1 hero.

This and the revelation that he believes the future to be unchangeable, made me understand why Nighteye was wound up so tight. Nighteye had known long before, that the world would lose its symbol of peace.

Ever since the retirement of all might after his exhaustive battle with all for one, the show has been highlighting the effects of the loss of the world’s symbol of peace. The tension, the rise in crime, the dread and anxiety, and the sudden weight thrust upon pro heroes as they realize just how much All Might had been carrying. It’s clear that everybody needs to step up (a sort of call back to the hero academy’s moto: Plus Ultra!). Nighteye had been living in this world (a world with no symbol of peace) long before anybody else and this is evident when I think back to how the show brilliantly switched narrative and focused on who Mirio (lemillion) is and Why Nighteye was so hard on Midoriya, believing that the former was much more up to the task of receiving One for All.

Nighteye suffers a brutal injury during his encounter with chisaki (Who’s a downright amazing antagonist) and ends up on a hospital bed slowly dying. He has a farewell conversation with Mirio (Who lost his quirk during the raid) and uses his quirk one last time to see Mirio’s new future (since Midoriya proved his belief about the future predictions by his quirk being unchangeable, to be wrong). Nighteye dies, pleased with the hero Mirio will eventually become.

I was pretty shocked at how touching Nighteye’s death was but this just goes to show how good this anime is. There’s just something about the way it employs narrative focalization. Its ability to sideline great characters like bakugo and Todoroki, and zone in on other characters while keeping its viewers invested, is simply amazing. We get to see other interesting characters and at the same time, we learn just how cool and diverse quirks in the World of My Hero Academia could be.
