Short, sweet, and to the point. Follow these rules and we all have a great time.

1. Mutuals only. I must be following you and you must be following me. Only those that I follow can like starter calls, send in character asks, and reply to posts.

1a. I will not interact with non-Mutuals, that includes asks, unless it’s done anonymously and it doesn’t have a url attached. Anyone who breaks this rule will get about a few pardons but after that will be blocked.

2. My time is limited here in what I can do. This means that I am very selective in what I reply to. Doesn’t necessary mean that I am ignoring anyone. Some days I reply to everything and everyone, others I am so burnt out from irl things or work that I just lurk and do the bare minimum. My mental health and well-being comes before anything else.

2a. Replies vary by length and time. I normally work eight to ten hours a day and experience a lot of exhaustion. Unless I don’t see a thread or an ask going anywhere and publicly make a post saying it’s been dropped, consider everything as pending / will do ASAP. Memes are okay to send in late unless it clearly states, not accepting. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time or EST. United States is where I am located at. I am usually online from 10 PM EST to 3 AM EST unless it’s a day off from work, which the online time will vary from 12 PM EST to 3 AM EST.

2b. Role-playing is a hobby, not a job. Do not pester me for replies or asks to be answered. I am not obligated to owe anyone anything on this website. I am human and can’t cater to everyone’s needs. Being persistent here is not going to make me answer yours faster than other people.

2c. Don’t follow, unfollow, and then refollow my blog. It’s not going to make me want to follow you back, ever. It’s annoying and no one is being crafty by doing that. If you continue to do this and it isn’t a tumblr glitch, I will be inclined to block and possibly report for spam.

3. If you do need to break mutuals with me, HARD BLOCK my blog. Don’t just UNFOLLOW or SOFT BLOCK because chances are that I could mistakenly follow you again. And that’s something we both don’t want since it would be quite awkward.

3a. I have the right to unfollow whoever I want to and so do you. Please don’t go on a hunt and try to guilt trip me into following you back again. Just don’t. I can and will tell you the reason why I unfollowed you but other than that, just let me leave in peace.

3b. Personal blogs and non RP blogs will be blocked on site. Please, if you have a side blog let me know through asks so I don’t accidentally block you. IMs are not a good way to let me know since they are closed for non-mutuals.

4. Duplicates are welcomed to follow me. The more the merrier. I do not suffer from same muse anxiety and encourage any of the same muse to follow me. Only request is that you don’t steal my headcanons, edits or icons. Other than that, we should all be able to have a good time. I’m always up for twin verses or alternate universes shenanigans.

4a. Original Characters are allowed to follow me. However, they need to be a little flesh out before I make a decision to follow them back or not. Just a small backstory or biography is all that I need. Headcanons also work if there isn’t an about page but must have about one page worth for me to consider following.

4b. Crossover Characters from other shows are allowed to follow me but I must know about said muse or else I’ll have a hard time whether to follow or not. Few fandoms I won’t interact with because I have no interest in these series are: Avatar the Last Airbender, Avatar the Legend of Korra. ( more to be added ).

5. I am a multi-ship blog. Arsene himself is ageless but his physical form is around 25 when he became a shadow / persona / demon and as such, I will only be shipping him romantically with muses around the 20s to 30s range. Some threads may get a little spicy but nothing that requires a ‘do not read at work’ type of posts. I will tag those post that are suggestive with a ‘spicy: tw & spicy for ts’ and ‘Looks like someone needs proper punishment’ for blacklisting purposes.

5a. I am open to all kinds of ships, not just romantic ones. I also enjoy platonic, rivalry, and familiar bonds. All ships are open to discussions through my IM(s) or otherwise known as Instant Messenger. Chemistry is key. As long as we interact a little, there’s always the chance that both muses can be in a relationship.

6. Things for you to tag for me are: BIRDS, CHAIN LETTERS, ORGANS, DOGS. For the birds and dogs, just in real life ones trigger me. I am fine with cartoon / art / video game ones as they are not real.

6a. Things I’ll tag for you: BLOOD, GORE, DEATH, BODY HORROR, EYE HORROR, INSECTS, MAGGOTS, BRUISES, SCARS, GUNS, KNIVES, CLOWNS. If there are anything I missed that you want tagged, please let me know through IM(s).

7. I am over the age of eighteen. However, I refuse to write smut as I am not comfortable with that subject to begin with. Please never force me to write this with you and if you keep sending things to me in this type of nature, I will report you, no questions asked.

7a. If I see any form of hate and I find out it was you that sent it, I will immediately BLOCK you. No questions asked. Life is too short to send unwanted hate, anon or not. All anon hate and hate towards me and my characters ( s ) in general will be reported and then blocked, no questions asked.

8. My pen name on here is SERE. Obviously, that is not my real name but it’s what I go by. It’s short for ‘Serena’, the English name that DIC gave Usagi Tsukino in the Americanized version of Sailor Moon. It’s pronounced; SIR-REE.

9. I am not a meme source. If you need to reblog a meme from my blog and don’t plan to send me anything, reblog from the source. I hardly get asks as it is, and for you to just use me as a meme source puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel like I’m being used, which isn’t a good feeling. If you wonder if you should send in a meme to me, please do. I love getting asks. I do hoard them from time to time like a dragon hoards treasure but I do get to them eventually. The more memes / asks, the merrier.

9a. Feel free to turn inbox replies into threads. Just remember to make separate post when replying. Do not reblog threads not meant for you and don’t reblog my headcanons. It’s okay to reblog my asks though if you want them to be keepsakes on your own blog. Also, it’s alright to reblog musings and images from me.

10. I rather not be bothered by callout posts and any potential drama that might accumulate. I am just here to have fun and I hope everyone else can too. Life is too short to spend on certain things that don’t matter in the long run. If I see multiple call out posts from you in a single day or that’s all you post, I will quietly unfollow you.

11. Out of character posts will be on here from time to time. Mostly talking about life in general or me venting once in a great while. If this annoys you, please remember that this is my blog, not yours. You are welcomed to unfollow / block at any time.

11a. The best way to interact with me is to send memes / asks / inbox things. I am always up for unprompted things in my inbox. Also, my instant messenger is always open if someone needs to contact me out of character or to plot something. Don’t hesitate to talk to me. I will try my best to respond.

11b. Not interacting after a month or two with me and my blog will make me silently unfollow you or result in a soft block. Or if you don’t interact with me at all, even out of character. Also, if you are gone for more than 6 months, I consider your blog inactive and will probably assume that you aren’t going to return.

12. I’m really laid-back in nature so don’t feel pressure to reply to anything I send to you. I understand that life happens and that sometimes you just need to unwind from the stress of daily life.

13. For pronouns; either SHE/HER or THEY/THEM is okay with me. My orientation is DEMIROMANTIC ASEXUAL. I love anime, manga, video games, music, drawing, and writing. If you read all of this, then thank you! I won’t ask for passcodes but please still try to remember these at some point. That’s all I ask. <3.

My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /

Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK. Are they underrated? YES / NO. (he is overrated as all hell, fuck this dude... but i love him so...) Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO. (In the grand scheme of it all? He’s really irrelevant. But I’m glad Kubo didn’t kill him off like was originally planned). Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. (I think its pretty neutral post canon?) How strictly do you follow canon? — I prefer not to RP canon events. There are a few exceptions though. though i will write a lot of post canon (which I have free reign to do considering Kubo never even let us know if he survived Askin!) I’m very headcanon based and I try to fit as many of my headcanons into my writing as possible. That being said, I do use canon to support my hc’s.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — Grimmjow comes from a life of continuous unrelenting trauma and horror. He’s a survivor and will never feel ashamed of the things he needed to do to ensure he stayed alive. The most important thing about my Grimmjow is that he is not a good person, but he wants to be. Becoming an Arrancar gave him a lot of agency that previously eluded him and he’s trying to use it to carve a place for himself in this world. He’s aggressive, rude, and downright mean sometimes, but he’s also curious, and willing to make a connection with other people if they give him a chance.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — They guy is an asshole. He’s hostile. Stabs as a warning. And once his trust is broken its nearlly impossible to build back up. He’s naturally suspicious and it can make it very difficult to get past his mask of contempt. Furthermore, he canonically not a very involved character. He’s had very few interaction with others. He’s NOT a romantic and shipping with him is incredibly difficult and I keep my foot down about it.

What inspired you to rp your muse? — He’s the only bleach character I really relate to. I started making a whole bunch of hc’s when I started writing fanfiction and decided to use them in rp (after I struggles to get an OC onto the scene. Grimmjow is much easier to work with.)

What keeps your inspiration going? — I’ve been in the fandom for over a decade. I’m not leaving now. All of the wonderful people I write with keep me motivated!

Some more personal questions for the mun.

Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.

Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO. (My version of him, yes. Canon? Meh, not so much) Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO. Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO. (I have many fics - find me on ao3 lmaooooooo) Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO. (im im in the zone and not doing other shit) Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO. Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO. Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO. Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal? — No. My characterization is personal to me and I very explicitly stated that I don't write Canon Grimmjow. If I did I would happily take feedback, but because eat this point hes very much my character I don’t appreciate criticism. Y’all are welcome to criticize my writing though! I love that and it helps me grow : )

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character? — YES YES YES! I absolutely love head canons and questions that make me think about what my character would do or think. I welcome them all the time and I don’t care how silly or obscure they may sound so send them my way!

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — Hmmmmm, yes! I’d say so. Everyone has different hc’s and I love hearing other peoples thoughts, and often I’d liek to be able to incorporate some of them. That being said, some of my i will not change under any circumstance, so as long as you are happy to compromise I’m happy!

If its a hc on your character though, that's all you! I’ll never pressure you to use a hc that isn’t your own for your portrayal.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I certainly don’t believe everyone has to like my way of writing Rukia. If they don’t like it, I would probably just say they can ignore it or unfollow (because why would you follow me if you don’t like what I write? I mean, come on.)

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — Just... don't follow me? If you make your dislike really know I’ll probably block you. RP is fun for me so I don’t want people putting me and my muse down.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — Go for it I guess? If its an error I make consistently It would be nice to know that I’m doing that wrong. If its a one of thing and your confused about what I meant also go for it! If its like... a typo? I probs wont change it lmao.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun? — Yeah! But I can be a bit shy on tumblr and I really only use my Grimm for ooc friends of mine, so It can take a while to get to know me via tumblr. Ask for my discord tho and Ill chat your ear off!

5b. Is there any ship that you do NOT want forced on you?: I personally don’t ship AkeShu / ShuAke ( the Protagonist x Goro Akechi ). Please don’t force this ship on me. I’ll only except a slow burn for both characters and only that when both the other mun and myself agree to do this.

GUIDELINES && THE WRITER

WEPA, MI GENTE. I’m TULLIE and this is the real fast and quick guide to what I find ok, not cool or willing to roll with. Ask questions, whenever, if you got ‘em — it’s what askboxes are for, bebitos.

...COOL, WHO ARE YOU?

TULLIE— incessant writer, trained dungeon master, self-help advocate, pretty chill meme lover. Currently twenty-seven and residing in Puerto Rico (AST).

DISCLAIMER: NOT INTO SOMETHING HERE?

So, we’re all literal human beings who are VERY DIFFERENT. That’s not sad, it’s awesome. There are parts of what I like or don’t like, allow for or don’t allow for, that may not work with you.

Talk to me if you want clarity on an aspect of this page or to talk about wiggle room. If something here is a deal breaker for you then it’s ok not to write with me at all. For me, it’s not personal.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

Before we get into if you want to write with me — here’s some short and key ground-rules on interaction and being mutuals:

I follow people I know I want to write with. That’s my standard.

Go ahead and reblog posts you find here like music, memes, gifsets, and quotes, to name examples; I’ll only ask any personal headcanons for muses (canon-divergent or otherwise) not be reblogged.

I’m alright with you turning asks I answer into threads if you want to!

Things that WILL NOT BOTHER me: mutuals writing other partners with same or similar muses as mine or same face-claims.

Always, always, always feel free to ask me about any of my rules. I will be honest with you. It’s just easier. You’re not psychic so I will not judge you if something is misread or if I wasn’t clear in writing it.

AND, WHAT ARE YOU INTO?

My multimuse is an unplanned selection of muses I’m comfortable writing for. Some started as canon, and others as originals. I’ll write them all with anyone at all. For me, what universe my muse inhabits isn’t important but rather the chance to take the core of their character and explore it when writing with someone else and their muse(s).

Breakdown of what I’m into!

Whether a muse is original, or from television, film, literature, video games, podcasts, etc. if you like my writing style then come forward and let’s work together.

Bring me your universes, wish-lists and ideas! Send them through IM or in the [askbox]. We can develop meme by meme, thread by thread, or message by message.

I do and will write with duplicates of my muses (whether they’re the ‘same’ person or not). It makes for interesting angles and possibilities.

As an added point, if we play the same muse, feel free to reblog aesthetic things related to that muse from my blog. Just, don’t take my developed headcanons for them.

Dynamics I’m open to writing, plotted or pre-established: I will write a romantic ship as a starting point, or a pre-established relationship. We can test if the muses have chemistry. Friendship, rivalry or enemies as dynamics aside from romance. Also familial dynamics such as siblings or cousins, and also found or chosen family. Let’s headcanon it!

I write smut and will tag it NSFW on this page for easier blacklisting. If something is missed, then please warn me.

I understand and don’t mind if you don’t want to write with one of my muses with the FC used for them. That’s preference, and it’s cool by me. That being said, I may not reassign a new fc to them in another verse (it’ll be a case-by-case basis).

Send me observations if you think something I’ve written something that misrepresents a group (like a protected class) or is outright offensive. I’ve written and said ignorant things in the past, and knowing assigns me the responsibility to learn and do better.

OH, A NOTE ON EXCLUSIVES?

Here’s my stance on exclusivity:

Do not ask me to do this for you: singleship, exclusive ship, be mains, limit writing to you, limit writing to your muse, limit writing to your face-claim. Know, that I will not ask this of you.

I don’t do muse exclusives; meaning establishing one mun’s version of a muse as the only one I write with.

I also don’t single-ship, or endgame ship or exclusive ship. By this I mean, I don’t make lists of people for exclusivity nor will I ask to be added to someone else’s list. It doesn’t work for me as a roleplayer.

Any Exceptions? Yes. This is due to establishing trust and connection over years, and no I will not be explaining my criteria for it since it’s more personal.

AND WHAT ARE YOU NOT INTO?

Here’s a list on what I’m not into:

Darker storylines involving sexual assault, excessive gore, and/or excessive emotional trauma aren’t up my alley. I’m alright with these being key events that are involved in a muse’s history (as in yours).

I will unfollow you due to: rp drama or call-outs to avoid being exposed to drama.

Do not ask me to drop writing with someone else. HOWEVER, if that person does something questionable then giving me a heads-up is 100% ok and very appreciated. We have to handle things with a certain level of emotional control and balance. I’ll evaluate and make decisions right for me.

HOW CAN WE GET STARTED ON WRITING?

I’m a simple-ass person so:

MEMES is the best way for me! If we don’t have a shared universe just leave the meme and specify what universe (yours or mine) you’d like! It’s an awesome challenge for me, and a quick way to get acquainted.

Feel free to add scenarios and context to meme asks: are they in a specific location, are they allies, are they enemies? Try anything. I’ll always tell you if something doesn’t vibe.

I’m always saying leave me like ten or twenty asks. If we’re mutuals, then seriously just leave me as many as you want. Even if we haven’t written yet. Throw ideas at the wall!

GUIDELINES.

Est. December 2019. Call me CARO, pronouns she/her or they/them. I’m well over legal age and work full-time for a living. English is not my first language — it’s Spanish.

This is a sideblog. Follows back from main blog @goldenornstein.

The character Velstadt the Royal Aegis, plus anything pertaining the Dark Souls series, are property of FromSoftware. I own nothing here, but my own writing and ideas.

First and foremost: I encourage my writing partners to take all the time they need to reply, to drop threads and leave IMs/asks unanswered, if they feel like it.

I’M A SLOW ROLE PLAYER MYSELF WHO DROPS THINGS OFTEN AND FOR VARIOUS REASONS. In any case, we can always start new threads.

You can always send in random asks and memes, even if we haven’t interacted yet, or if we have other things going on.

This blog is selective, private and non-exclusive: I don’t always follow back, I’ll only interact with mutuals, I’ll role play with multiple versions of the same character without becoming ‘exclusive’ or ‘mains’ with anyone.

I absolutely LOVE AUs and crossovers! Always feel free to suggest that kind of interactions and plots.

If you’re going to send a message to start plotting, please present an idea or verse to work with — aka NOT just ‘wanna rp?’ or small talk.

I have a strong preference for plotted threads, but I will write improvised things too, including casual one liners.

I tend to drop most introduction and first meeting threads.

I won’t do any IM or Discord role playing, even though both channels are always available for plotting and random chatting, on ooc and ic things.

Character ≠ Writer aka the golden rule of role playing. I will not interact with people who over-identify with their muses, romanticize and/or condone their problematic aspects from a personal point of view, or just show any signs of blurred lines between OOC and IC.

I portrait Velstadt as an individual with great virtues, terrible flaws and lots of moral greyness in between. Nevertheless, I won’t accept interactions or plots that use him as a prompt to make other muses look sympathetic, righteous or powerful.

Role play is a two way street. Your muse shouldn’t be a support character for mine. My muse shouldn’t be a support character for yours. If there’s no mutual interest and development, then I’ll probably drop all interaction and unfollow.

Don’t god-mode, especially by forcing fanon or your own headcanon on my muse. When in doubt, just ask.

I like to keep my prose, formatting and graphics plain and simple, but I don’t care about what others do — so long as the text is legible. Just a couple of basic things: please don’t reblog asks directly and don’t use large gifs when writing with me.

I’ll role play without icons, simply because I can’t really find a FC with enough resources.

Original Characters are more than welcome. However, I won’t acknowledge any OCs meant to be Velstadt’s blood relatives or lovers, unless there’s a plot beforehand.

This blog does feature plenty of potentially disturbing themes like horror, gore, fictional racism, mental illness and trauma, which will be tagged accordingly (e.g. horror cw).

Explicit sexual content will only happen in a highly selective fashion, always tagged as NSFW and never involving any writers under the age of 18.

I refuse to write any content associated to pedophilia. I won’t write explicit rape or dubious consent either.

I might consider writing abusive relationships and other similar topics, albeit in a limited fashion, and only IF there’s a previously discussed plot, plus proper portrayal of those issues.

HIGHLY SELECTIVE ABOUT SHIPPING. I have exactly zero interest in writing romance just for the sake of it — there must be chemistry and a plot.

All potential romantic relationships take place in their own completely separated realities/verses, unless I explicitly agree to plot and play a particular ship in some other way — which isn’t something I’ll usually do. Hence, never get my muse involved in romantic dynamics you might have with other RP partners to force a love triangle, cheating or even polyships.

Platonic and non-romantic relationships, of any kind, are always welcome and highly encouraged.

2. Are aesthetics important to you? If they are, why?

Not very. It’s fun and cute and all, but I care a whole lot more about “clicking” with people and having fun writing with them.

Exception: If someone’s aesthetic is so overblown that I can’t even find the pages on the blog or read the text, I.....won’t interact with that tbh.

4. How do you explain rp to someone in the real world?

( My roommates all know it’s a thing I do but I’ve never sent them a link or shown them any of the actual writing. They’ve met a bunch of y’all over like Rabbit streams and @rumdaydreams irl though so like.... They Know. )

6. Do you prefer writing male muses or female more? Why?

Ehhh, depends on my mood. I lean towards female muses in general ( definitely got a bigger chunk of ladies on my list, for sure for sure ) but I love my boys.

8. Name any three things about the rpc that bother you.

Uhhhh A) We’re all such dumb socially awkward blobs so it’s often hard to get to know new people.

B) The feel that if you have a good relationship with one person who writes a canon muse, it’s some kind of lowkey betrayal to write with other people who write the same muse??

C) How much I, a certified card-carrying dumbass, stress myself out about posting on a “regular” schedule. Does that count? Like I want the blogs to look “presentable” lmao and me@me Calm The Fuck Down.

11. What do you know now about rp that you wish you knew when you first started?

Uhhhh, when I first started was long enough ago and the community was so different a lot of those lessons no longer apply. I wish when I finally jumped over to Tumblr I’d realized quicker how the new like....basic ways of meeting people and posting and all worked, which was mostly just a “calm down and go with the flow more, let go of your stupid rigid old habits” lmaooo.

12. Have you been involved in drama? Do you regret it?

yES. Yeah. Hahaha ha h.

But ummm, not usually. No. Most of my drama has been either A) me posting the very very softest, most diluted version of barely-touching on my politics and my real goddamn life and people being fuckin butthurt as hell about or B) cutting people who were toxic and draining out of my life. So.

13. Have you ever thought about leaving rp? What caused it? What changed your mind?

Yeah. Once I actually did — when I started college I just didn’t have the time, so I peaced from the larger community to just write with close friends for a while. I’ve also considered leaving the T.umblr RPC a few times, but really only because of long bad depressive episodes. Coming back and “not wanting to literally die irl ha Ha” and catching up with my drafts gets me back on track lmao.

14. Do you think rp has had a positive or negative affect on your life or you as a person?

Positive! Sometimes I worry that I spend too much time wrapped up in fiction and miss my real life, but I’ve learned to keep my time more separate so now it’s just good to have a healthy hobby that makes me happy. Also I’m definitely a much better writer for it, and there a lot of networking skills I think translate to real workplace skills so it’s 👌

15. How has rp changed you personally?

See above, tbh. And it gives me a lot of good outlets for writing ideas that would otherwise stew in my head until I hated myself for never ever writing any lmao. It’s good.

16. If you could change one thing about rp on tumblr, what would it be? Why?

Oh, I dunno. I wish I could post replies from mobile more easily, god. That’d keep me a lot more on top of my drafts lmao.

Sometimes. If a partner is actually pressuring me I’m real good at saying uhhh hey, fuck off about that? but sometimes partners will perfectly-innocently be enthusiastic about things I’m not super comfortable with and that’s harder to bring up. So it’s..... more like I pressure myself, whoops.

21. Have you ever followed someone because you felt like you had to, not because you wanted to?

Ehh. Not really. Sometimes I’ll follow a friend of a friend despite lack of interest just because, like.... My friends are smart and good, maybe I’m just not getting the right “vibe” from their blog as who really they are. Sometimes that just means we never click and I unfollow them later. Or sometimes @rumdaydreams drags me straight to mutual hell and we write 20,000 unfinished bullshit and meet irl and she actually talks me into wholeass new blogs and muses. So, you know. Mix bag.

22. What would make you block someone?

Red flags for manipulation and lowgrade emotional a.buse, especially ones I viscerally feel in my stomach from previous experiences. Obvious r.ight-leaning politics ( Weirdly, I’m not particularly comfortable around people who don’t think I or my friends deserve to be treated like human beings! A character quirk, haha! )

Also ngl sometimes I block people just to remind myself I’ve followed them before and I don’t wanna re-follow them six times and look like I’m trying to intentionally harass them. My memory is bad but the block button always knows, lmao. 😅

23. Have you ever stolen something from someone else?

Not intentionally — I try very hard not to steal hc from duplicates or take plots without asking. But, y’know, sometimes an idea sticks in your head and you eventually just forget where it originally came from.

24. Have you ever had something stolen from you? If so, how did you handle it?

Not that I’m aware of.

25. Are you open to duplicates? Why / why not?

Absolutely, for the most part! I like seeing other perspectives, and especially since @thewrongsorts is such a bigass multi it lowkey just makes my life easier.

There are a few exceptions — less because they’re duplicates and more because there are hc/fanon I just......dislike enough I don’t wanna write with them. Not a feeling that’s limited to duplicates tbh.

26. How do you feel about vague posting?

Ehhh. It’s like not a great thing, but I get the appeal. I tend to unfollow if someone posts a lot of it because then they’re just passive-aggressive as a person, but the occasional vagueblog I don’t mind. Sometimes you gotta get shit off your chest but you don’t wanna make it a wholeass call-out, I get it.

27. Do you follow people even if they don’t follow you back?

Generally I unfollow. I’m here to write, if we’re not interacting it’s clogging my dash. ( Honestly I unfollow mutuals eventually if we never write.... ) But very occasionally someone’s got such good #takes and hc that I stick around just bc I stan.

28. Do you read people’s rules before following or interacting?

29. What is your opinion on “reblog karma” and do you practice it?

It’s nice! Like.... I wouldn’t require anyone to do it, but it makes people feel better about their blogs, it’s polite. I know I’m happier getting memes as well as passing them along. You know, be social. Connect with people. I always try to practice it, yeah.

30. How have you responded to popular slang used on tumblr? Do you use it in every day life? Do you use it at all?

Uhhh, yeah. My irl social circles are a lot of dumb gay millennials, we use a lot of dumb internet slang.

31. Is there something you don’t know the meaning of but you haven’t asked anyone because you think it’s supposed to be general knowledge?

Oh yeah! Joined Tumblr rpc ten years late with Starbucks! But also like.... I’m a web developer. 90% of my irl workskills are being good at Googlin’ shit. So I’ve pretty much always found the answer on my own, at least. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Here or irl or....? I mean yes in any case, but much less often in the rpc specifically. This blog is a lot less outspoken ( both about politics or about who I....am....generally ) than most of my others or me irl.

Shoutout to that time I complained one (1) time about how copacetic the H.arry P.otter rpc is and an actual irl n.eon.azi jumped in my inbox lmaooooooo.

34. How do you feel about personal blogs following your rp blog?

Uhhh, I don’t love it? But if they mostly chill and don’t fuck with my actual threads I usually ignore them. ¯\_( ‘ ‘ )_/¯

35. Have you ever cried while writing a reply?

No. I’m not like......good at crying. 😐

36. Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own?

Depends on the blog. Some multis I follow are in fandoms I just like don’t even understand, so I don’t read those. Sometimes I just don’t got the energy. But I read a lot of my friends’ other threads or threads on blogs I stan.

Good writing is good shit and I’m.....a big 👀 bitch. Tbh.

37. What’s one thing that other people seem to hate that doesn’t bother you?

Call-out posts, bringing real life politics into rp, generally acknowledging that we have lives outside of the fictional world that affect how we read and interact with fiction.

I tag things that are common or obviously upsetting, and if someone asks I add whatever tags they need to my list — the “list” is mostly a mental tally so I occasionally fuck up, but god I feel strongly about triggers.

39. What advice would you give to someone new to rp?

Poking around to see how other people seem to “operate” and scrolling through posts about how to get started is so so so fucking helpful! Don’t be afraid to do it!

Also reach out to people as much as you can work up the spoons to. If they’re rude back to you, like..... They were never worth your time anyhow. You dodged a bullet.

Undo my ESC - Semi-final 1

Hey there, folks – with this year having so many ESC national finals with results that I personally found lamentable, I thought I’d do a little write-up, Undo my ESC, where I take this year’s entrants and make a feasible change, anything as small as tinkering with a few minor touches or as big as another person winning the national final completely. Obviously, just my opinion and a light-hearted review, but I hope the people that always unfollow this page because they disagree with something I say on the few occasions I go into personal opinions stop reading here. Let’s take a look, first, at Semi-Final 1. Azerbaijan: she’s a jazz and soul singer. Get her singing a song in one of these styles that is comfortable to her! If the Azeris really think they wouldn’t have a chance with these genres, then they haven’t been paying attention to the last few winners of the contest. Even if she didn’t emulate them, she’d surely get to the final with their qualification rate, and would have more of a chance of standing out than with this generic “bop” (my most hated overused word of this season.) Iceland: Iceland this year may have sent the song with the most excruciatingly hackneyed lyrics in several years. Take a Hallmark card poem, drown it in treacle and you have an idea of how syrupy and twee the song is, almost as if they were some pretty bad satirists trying to write an over-the-top “humankind is one” pastiche song. I didn’t really pay much heed to Söngvakkepnin this year – finding their offerings a tame lot compared to recent years, like the excellent showdown between Svala and Daði Freyr last year – so I don’t have a horse to back, but since Í stormi was winning the contest televote before the superfinal, in this alternate timeline, I will have it win instead. Albania: This song is as close to perfection almost as you can get to me. Some people don’t like the revamped version, but – after what feels like an entire era of bad revamping – I like it and think it makes the song melodically tighter. I guess my change would be that Eugent would get the visa needed to attend the pre-parties, as he really needs all the exposure he can get to get out of this semi-final of death. Belgium: A really nice effort from Belgium, with Flanders stepping it up a gear to match the Walloons’ quality over the past years. Not sure how to change it, except to perhaps incorporate some Dutch in there? The separation of broadcasters made sense when Wallonia was sending songs in French and Flanders in Vlaams, not so much now when they’re both sending English songs. It’d be nice to hear the first bit of Dutch from Belgium since 1996 in, for example, one of the reprises of the choruses. Czechia: The Czechs surprised a lot of onlookers by joining the wave away from internal selections and towards national finals, but there was only ever going to be one winner here, Mikolas Jozef, whose song soared above an otherwise weak crowd melodically – but not lyrically! Even his new “family friendly” version for the ESC feels sleazy, misogynistic, and raises a bunch of questions that I definitely wouldn’t want to have to explain to my students. My change would be that he take the opportunity of writing a new set of lyrics to write something to go much better with the admittedly catchy score. Lithuania: This is gorgeous on every level and is soaring up my personal chart. Ieva’s vocals, powerful in their delicacy, are really moving and add to the poignancy of the lyrics. I originally found the English version sorely lacking compared to Kai myliu, but they have a certain understated simplicity and naïveté that I find lovely. She’s letting the words speak for themselves and I love that. My one change? Make it bilingual and add some Lithuanian to the mix, something she did in the final but is unclear whether she’ll replicate on the big stage.

Israël: Netta was rightfully the breakout star of the Israëli preselection, and having seen interviews of her, she seems genuinely lovely. I wouldn’t change her as the representative picked, but I wóúld go for a different song. Listening to or watching “Toy”, for me, feels like sensory overstimulation, like entering a room with a blur of a thousand noises and flashing lights. It feels too try-hard for me, like they want to be the memetic entry of the year, which some people will vote for just because of the chicken memes rather than the musical value of the piece. I also think that trying to posture it as a #!MeToo anthem is the biggest reach since Brisa Fenoy’s acclamation of Lo Malo. Belarus: As much as I’ve come to ironically appreciate the song and Alekseev’s bizarre accentuation, Farevvahh doesn’t hold a candle to Chmarki for me, which would have been a second unusual and unique pick for Belarus. Estonia: Eesti Laul was a bit of a dud for me this year, unlike the previous year where I loved Spirit Animal and Slingshot liked almost every song in the final -except for the eventual winner (my luck in a nutshell, there.) My pick would have been the sweeping and otherworldly Külm, which would have brought about an overdue return to the exceedingly musical Estonian language at Eurovision. If we have to keep Elina, give her a song (rather than a vocal exhibition) in Estonian, a language whose vocalic richness is perfectly suited for operatics. Bulgaria: The thing letting this darkly atmospheric piece down the most is the female vocalist, Žana Bergendorff, who doesn’t add much to the five-piece combo and has done very little except for gawp distractingly at the crowd in live performances. Bulgaria’s broadcasters teased much bigger names… I would have had them follow through on them. Macedonia: I’ve really grown to like this song from Macedonia, though on first listen – and those first impressions are crucial for folk who haven’t been listening to the songs for months in advance – it seemed a bit messy rather than the musical odyssey I currently consider it to be. It’s a risk, but I’d leave the composition as it is – except for inserting some of the supposed Macedonian we might have got. Croatia: Go back in time and tell Franka not to make a version of Sam Brown’s “Stop” with trap beats? Austria: Another composition that I can barely find fault with and really like. I love the light and shade of this – the dark and despairing verses offset by the build of the bridge and the upbeat, gospel-twinged verses. Only a special voice could pull that off, but Cesár’s husky and soulful timbre is perfect for both. The only part of the song where my attention flags is between the 2nd and 3rd choruses, where I think a fully-fledged third verse would be more interesting. Greece: Actually have a national final. Don’t eliminate all but one song in the shadiest way possible. And have the winner be Don’t forget the sun/ Μην ξεχνασ τον ηλιο, which I feel brought a truly Greek atmosphere and combined English and Greek effortlessly, avoiding the clunkiness that bilingual songs often have. Finland: I would rather have had a proper UMK with more than one candidate, rather than what we got, 3 songs from Saara Aalto, which doesn’t represent that much choice. If that were impossible – as it seemed YLE was dead set on that path – then I’d probably have gone with Domino instead. Monsters is, musically, a more interesting piece and doesn’t have the atrocious rhyming of “falling, oh” with “domino” (troolee jeenyus riming), but her performance of Domino was considerably less shaky, and I find the chorus a bit gratingly shrill. Armenia: I love that Armenia are sending a song in their beautiful native language, and Qami is a grower with mystical and poetic lyrics. But I can’t lie – I much preferred If you don’t walk me home and would have it win Depi Evratesil instead. Switzerland: I’m going to be honest: in the last few years, I haven’t expected much out of Switzerland except for “non-qualifier” fodder, having brought us only 3 songs I like (Cool vibes, Unbreakable and especially the verbosely charming Hunter of Stars. Come back, Sebalter!) … since their last victory in 1988! I don’t mind Stones, even if I think it’s pop that’s rolled around in the mud a bit to present itself as grungey. However, there was something truly beautiful and stirring in the selection, Chiara Dubey’s “Secrets and Lies”, which seemed elegantly pared back despite also having something of an orchestral flourish. And her voice, as smooth as velvet, crowning the composition. Unfortunately, it had no chance… but I would make it my personal winner of the Swiss selection. Ireland: Ireland’s song this year is not daring or likely to make a splash, but quite lovely, with beautiful harmonies. I find the representative this year to be very unctuous and shifty though, especially his fake news about his video – whence I imagine most of the hype comes from, representing his song about a boy and girl breaking up with a romantic interpretive dance between two fellas falling in love, naturally – that he propagated against Russia. Cyprus: Just no on every level to the current package, one of my absolute least favourites this year. I’d have a national selection with some Greek language songs. Whilst I begrudge how ERT handled their “national final” fiasco, at least they made a few steps in the right direction. This is the equivalent of flying half way around the world in the wrong direction. And the direct finalists voting in this semi-final: Portugal: Whilst I have grown to find Isaura’s meditative song about the loss of her gran quite an extraordinary and emotive listen, I found this year’s Festival da canção of great quality and diversity and would have preferred Beatriz’ Eu te amo, Diogo Piçarra’s Canção do fim, or even better, Janeiro’s “(sem título)” as the host nation’s entry. Spain: This is one of my huge favourites this year, so I can pick little fault with it at all, though I think I prefer their pre-revamp version, which was a little more subtle in its lack of additional adornments. United Kingdom: The only thing I was happy about when it came to the result of You Decide, (which should be renamed You decide 50%, a jury decides the rest and we never tell you who réálly was decisive!) was that this prevented the more hideous hymn of unwarranted self-aggrandisement that was “Legends” from getting the ticket. But the eventual winning song, and especially the revamp, which sounds like the producers got bored and let their six year old kid go wild on a Casio, is such a wet weekend for me, especially when it was up against a soaring voice and poignant set of lyrics in Jaz Ellington’s “You”.

So, that’s my summary of what I consider to be by far the stronger semi-final of this year’s Eurovision, and where only a few of my changes needed to be drastic. Join me soon to go through SF2, as I navigate a nearly wall-to-wall litany of horrors and share how I would like to try to right them!

OH, A NOTE ON EXCLUSIVES?

Here’s my stance on exclusivity:

Do not ask me to do this for you: singleship, exclusive ship, be mains, limit writing to you, limit writing to your muse, limit writing to your face-claim. Know, that I will not ask this of you.

I don’t do muse exclusives; meaning establishing one mun’s version of a muse as the only one I write with.

Any Exceptions? Yes. This is due to establishing trust and connection over years, and no I will not be explaining my criteria for it since it’s more personal.

HOW CAN WE GET STARTED ON WRITING?

I’m a simple-ass person so:

Feel free to add scenarios and context to meme asks: are they in a specific location, are they allies, are they enemies? Try anything. I’ll always tell you if something doesn’t vibe.

I’m always saying leave me like ten or twenty asks. If we’re mutuals, then seriously just leave me as many as you want. Even if we haven’t written yet. Throw ideas at the wall!
