Ok, so...Now I’m finally playing #uncharteddrakesdeception , I thought it would be fun to share my casting choices for Sully in the upcoming #unchartedmovie . This has been in the pipeline for years and last we heard, Tom Holland was in talks to play a young #nathandrake in an origin story. It’s likely that Sully will be in it and if that’s the case, my choices would be Sam Elliott, Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Tom Selleck. Although I thought Stephen Lang did a great job in the fan film starring Nathan Fillion, I felt he was more ex military than cheeky cowboy so I think any of these gentlemen would be a great fit. Feels really weird to read all these grown men ( I think) opinions on kh1 and how bad the camera was and stuff and how they dontt like the platforming. But I remember how the restrictions imposed by the camera simply felt like part of the difficulty and the atmosphere (even when it completely fucked u over in the whale. My god. But that just seemed part of the bizarro impossibility of navigating that level). And also, that I loved the platforming. KH3 honestly felt completely soulless to me and I barely got to Frozen's world before I quit bc why the fuck would I travel if they can't give me the flimsiest excuse to do so. I remember we chose the lowest difficulty on kh2 and that made it deeply boring - not in the least because they focused on combat by removing platforming and then made it totally possible to oneshot everybody by pressing triangle. I hate that addition. I liked the forms though - and Sora looked very cool suddenly. Started hating his personality which was bad. Also the flowmotion or whatever in KH3? Unwieldy, deeply boring. Looks fancy only.

Anyway I was looking at the platforming for a refresher because kh1s platforming always stuck with me as a wonderful casual way to explore levels to get rewards and stumble across cutscenes to progress the story. And there was a lot of variety coupled with heartless variety. The fact that you could fall off platforms bc you'd slapped a heartless too close to the edge WAS the fun part - the part that required skill and frustration. Anyway.

Jak & Daxter 1 - I got pretty sick of the platforming for how it was the main mechanic and super hard. Having recently played uncharted and a bit of classic tomb raider - that shit is kinda...like. boring. It can't be too hard because it get frustrating fast. But you don't really get rewards for it either like in kh. It's just the main way to move the story forward. But by the end of uncharted1 and endless puzzle-shoot-climb pattern I was like - ok I'm good. I played the latest uncharted because I was like - ah cool story bro. But because it was mostly story with a little bit of obviously unvaried gameplay it also didn't super grab me.

Which does make me realise that I played and play games mostly for progressing their stories. It's not so much that I wanted to see people in botw. I wanted to meet Impa to get the sense that I had another piece of the story and was on another step of the overall journey. Which is why hzd works so well for me also. This is a very handy realisation.
