#i'll be 20 this year and i got my first smartphone when i was 8 #before that i was taught to use computers: the family macbook; some other little laptop we used for school #we always had cds and dvds i still vaguely recall the VHS tapes and im sure i could use one if pressed #i remember us owning a tube tv; this stuff was NOT that long ago it is not obsolete in my mind #So seriously how did the literal INTERNET start becoming “obsolete” so quickly i don't get it #are you seriously telling me the “google it” generation ends with me? What do they do when they want to know something? #bc i know they're not hitting up their local libraries. Teach them the power of search engines #and idk why im saying that bc the internet is also a terrible place for children especially now but #That doesnt mean they shouldnt know how to use it! #they should know how to type and use a mouse and use a file structure they should know what BIOS is pls. imma cry. #don't abandon the wee babes to the dusty dark corners of the app store and chatgpt #realistically i get that they aren't using it bc they don't “need to” anymore #but still! employers want those skills atm #and will any system really have adjusted to such a complete decline in computer literacy #by the time these kids are looking for their first jobs? #im thinking about the lore. thinking about it sooo hard #also because im writing 1000 other things #not that this gets less priority its actually alot higher priority right now because i finally finished a 300-ish page long oc thing #but yeah writing is easier to accomodate with my body pain than art because #i can draw on my phone but my phone is sized really awkward and holding it that way to draw causes more pain #so its best for me to draw at my computer (with mouse in firealpaca) or at my drawing tablet (in csp. usually for wayyy better drawings) #but doing those requires me not to hurt #whereas with writing its very easy because i can just lie in bed #and im a fast typer. and holding the phone for typing causes less strain than drawing does #but yes you might get ALOT of lore!! but i want to put it into comic formats first when i have the energy for it #also i write more than i draw but i still consider myself more of an artist than a writer i guess??? #anyways if you listened all this way through my rambling youre so cool
