TVD - s3 ep14

"Dangerous Liaisons"

First of all, I knew there was something up with Esther! I knew it! How was Elijah the only one who noticed something was off? Like...when he points it out to Rebekah she's dismissive and basically tells Elijah to stop being paranoid. And ofc my man was right as he always is. If I was a Mikaelson I would trust Elijah's instincts, but hey that's just me.

Why was Finn so willing to die? I mean I get it, he didn't ask to be a vampire (none of them did, obv) but you're really ok with dying and all your siblings dying...damn! 😭And Esther, I'm sorry you're such a hypocrite - them becoming vampires was all your fault! and once you saw what they turned into and all the negative side effects you have the gall and the audacity to be horrified...like babe, you were repeatedly told "Don't do this, it's dark magic, don't do it, it goes against nature" and you still did it.

You and your horrible husband literally murdered your own children, you put some dark magic on them (you didn't even know what it was gonna do to them) and then act all surprised when it turns out doing blood magic on someone is probably gonna have a negative influence on the person.

before season 3 I always asked myself (because I knew certain things about the story before watching the show) "After Henrik died, why didn't they just leave?" then Elena asked Rebekah that exact question in Ep 8 I think and Rebekah said "because of our father's pride" (something like that). So Esther and her crusty husband would rather choose to use blood magic on their children instead of just leaving the village and going somewhere else...like, what? 💀💀

If I was an Original, yeah I would also be pissed at my parents. Like you killed me (just for that - wtf, they are literally your children!?), turned me into a bloodsucking monster without my consent when you had the option of leaving, but no, daddy's pride is more important than our safety...I would continue living just to spite you, like ma'am, you don't get a say in my life anymore, not after literally conspiring to murder me and my siblings with our crazy, abusive father. You can both rot in hell!

Love Kol! Love him! He's so sassy and he is a menace ugh love him and he's really cute! 😊😊

(side note, but all of the Mikaelson brothers have nice voices, yes even Finn, I didn't think he would have such a nice voice. guess I'm just a sucker for a man with a nice voice lol)

7. ok, don't crucify me but I didn't really like Caroline's ball dress. It looked cheap and I didn't like the jewels thing on her waist. I liked Elena's dress more. I think Rebekah had the best dress, actually.

Also why exactly was Caroline there? Because Klaus had a thing for her? But why? Why was he so interested in her? Also isn't she still with Tyler at this point? And Klaus knows she's still with Tyler. Would she have gone to the ball if Tyler was in town? At the end of the night, she ends up arguing with Klaus and calls him out on his behavior (as she should) so... I really don't understand how she ends up with him. Throughout the entire third season, she kept on saying "Eww Klaus, he's so bad and creepy, ew!" but I know they're gonna be a thing in s4...so I guess I'll just have to continue watching?

Like, I'm sorry to any Klaroline shipper if they see this, but wasn't Klaus the reason why she was bitten? Klaus told Tyler to bite Caroline and then when she's on her deathbed he's like omg let me help Caroline...girl you are the reason she's dying, smh. And that's how they start their relationship..ok 🙄

a few well-timed compilations on youtube inspired me to continue my TVD/TO rewatch, so I've been back to that in these past few days. TVD season 7 is still a bore and I'm getting tired of the same storylines repeating over and over again, but they do have fun moments. there was also the double crossover in episodes 14, which gave me some glorious klaroline moments, which honestly made the previous 13 episodes of suffering almost worth it.

the originals season 3 is as good as I remember it, even if I spent most of it wondering how much better the show would be if Caroline was here instead of TVD. I'm sorry for Camille, they really are running out of ideas for her. but most importantly, after two previous brief appearances, this last episode just brought back my man Kol for good, and honestly that's all that matters.

also, I'm kinda weirdly shipping Freya and Lucien??? idk they had a vibe in ep14 and I'm all for it.

TVD Rebekah gets a bad rep. In TO I know she's a bit more appreciated. Damon would OFC sleep with her. Had nothing to do with Elena. He prefers vampire women (at least after s1) and he was looking to blow off steam, feel desired, and just have fun. He needed it (after Elena hurt him for no reason) and Rebekah needed it too. Why the Damon hate about it??? Stefan sleeping with her is similar. They have history and he was looking to move on. Stefan with her was a bit more calculated, hence why Damon outs him.

Rebekah is a huge parallel for Damon and Stefan. Damon had more intention, and he got exactly what he expected from Elena.

Rebekah tried to kill Elena at the open of 3x14. In 3x6, it was Esther who sent Vicki to kill her, so Esther was behind Delena's first aid scene. Elena nearly died by fire because of Esther, so Damon decided to make a point while making her jealous. He felt that if Elena can meet with Esther after Esther nearly killed her, and do so while expecting him not to care... then he can sleep with Rebekah after Rebekah nearly killed her, and do so while expecting her not to care. What's good for Elena should be good for Damon, period. Despite the fact that sleeping with Rebekah was all about Elena, Damon claimed he did it for himself because of her comment. "Elena. Did you get what you want?" Because she said she got what she wanted, Damon claimed to get what he wanted. That's why he lied to her about his reason for sleeping with Rebekah. Elena pisses off Damon, he's mad and has to get over it. He gets over it when he has sex with Rebekah because angry sex is good sex and quite the release lol. Damon pisses off Elena because she finds out he slept with Reekah. So then it's her turn to be mad, and her need to get over it. She gets over it when Rebekah abducts Damon to torture him because it's one thing to be mad at him, and another to be mad to the point of wanting him dead. It's at this time Stefan realizes she's in love with Damon.

Damon and Elena are so madly in love with each other... they're making each other mad lol

For Stefan, sleeping with Rebekah was solely about losing Elena, and he's quite ashamed of it. He has serious post-sex regret. He knew it would piss off Elena, so he tried to sneak out and keep it a secret. He wasn't trying to move on from Elena, but more or less biding his time because he truly believed the cure for vampirism would pull her back to him. A momentary need for pleasure is what I'd term their sex. He didn't expect Klaus to catch him sneaking out, and he's even more bothered when Klaus tells Damon because he knows he's gonna get outed for it. Stefan doesn't have the dual purpose Damon has, and I feel that has a lot to do with the parallel between them. Rather than making a point like Damon, I feel Stefan's entire parallel to Damon is the point. In 4x12, Klaus and Damon spend time in the cellar. 3x14 was Stefan's revenge against Klaus and his love for Elena. In 4x12, Kol tries to cut off Jeremy's arms. 3x14, he was breaking Matt's fingers.

In 4x12, Elena is helping Jeremy kill Kol. 3x14, Damon was killing Kol after he broke Matt's fingers.

After killing Kol, Elena finds out Stefan slept with Rebekah. 3x15, she found out Damon slept with Rebekah.

In 4x12, Elena's plan with Stefan was to sideline Rebekah. 3x14, Elena's plan with Stefan was to sideline Damon.

I consider it insanely important for fans to question Elena's thought process because I'm quite certain these parallels exist for a reason. I'm still working on my analysis post for 3x14, so I'll stop there.

the lack of empathy here ñasdkfja. like sure she enjoys the ego-boost and the attention and all of that is exhilarating (while also putting her on edge and terrifying her) but. seeing him as an individual with inner life and feelings unrelated to her? here Klaus isn't even a person to her LMAO. and I for one LOVE THAT for her.
