Note
Which of your Dark forest Ocs do you think would get along with Bristleblaze?
I think most of them would be chill with him, but FleaThistle might be a bit scared of him.
The cats that I can picture getting along with him are LionCatch, TurtleStepper, WhiteHeart, and the unsubmitted duo of GreenPebble and GhostPurr. (Green is also neutered so I assume he’d be very sympathetic towards BristleBlaze)
QuickStar (who is somehow still alive in clangen so I can’t submit him yet) would probably be just sad towards what BristleBlaze has gone through, and hate Avery for that.

Note
Poor StoneSun, he sounds like he needs a friend in the dark forest to keep him safe. Who do you think would like him? TurtleStepper would definitely lead him around and help explain things to him when he gets confused. — @wills-woodland-warriors
yeah he for sure needs a protector, or at least someone to stop him from getting violent in his confusion
I think unless you're a major jerk, he's not bothered much, either out of sympathy or out of cats not wanting to be put in harm's away
Turtlestepper would make a nice friend to him, maybe Ferndoe and Martenstep sometimes, too

Reposting the submitting characters really quick because I often forget to add the new names to the list, so let me know if I'm forgetting anyone! (@ ing the most recent submitters) (it's a long list so maybe keep an eye out for your recent cats and where they would be alphabetically)

Story:
When Turtlekit developed allergies, he avoided the medicine den like it were greencough. Because he was a very sickly kit, the other kits were discouraged from playing with him in case he had an ‘episode’ that made it difficult to breathe.
Compared to Riddlecharm, his elder brother, he was the average cat. Overlooked by his Clanmates, it was easy to feel invisible. Due to this, he became incredibly shy, often preferring to stick near the leader’s den and away from the fuss that always seemed to surround Riddlecharm.
Yarrowstar took pity on the kit, so isolated as he was, and often let him sleep in her den. She would explain to the kit that it was because her den had less foliage than the nursery. As well, she thought that the preparation would make him a good apprentice for her.
However, it only made him even more isolated from the other apprentices. On his first time out of camp, Yarrowstar took him and Lionpaw to explore the territory. Aside from a stuffy nose and wheezy breath, Turtlepaw was fine for the first half of the tour.
When Yarrowstar and Lionpaw’s mentor, Whitepelt, left to investigate a border skirmish, the two apprentices were left to talk alone. The pair got along surprisingly well, and ended up playfighting to pass the time.
The moon-older Lionpaw offered his new denmate how to pounce properly. Excited that someone was taking an interest in him, Turtlepaw was quick to agree.
He pounced on the small apprentice, causing the two to roll into a heather bush.  Turtlepaw quickly began to gasp for breath, unable to breathe as he collapsed.
Panicked at the sight, Lionpaw ignored the mentors yelling at them in the distance and picked Turtlepaw up by the scruff, running straight for camp.
At the medicine den, Skipperbug instantly started to try and get Turtlepaw to eat the mixture of bright-eye, borage, and catmint. Lionpaw stayed by his side the whole shaky night, hissing at anyone who even came near Turtlepaw if they had been in the fields recently.
Skipperbug eventually pushed him out of the den for crowding, but Lionpaw continued to check on him frequently. To his dismay, Turtlepaw’s mother didn’t even come once to visit her son over the next two days. He was expecting to feel even worse in the medicine den, but for the first time in moons his lungs felt clear.
Skipperbug told him it might be due to the herbs overpowering all the flowers and grass outside. Turtlepaw was in awe, and once he could leave he went straight to Yarrowstar.
“I want to be a medicine cat apprentice,” he had stated happily. Hurt had flashed in Yarrowstar’s eyes, but she quickly said that she would announce it tonight.   Over the next few moons, Turtlepaw became quite skilled in herbs, and mostly stayed in camp unless he was going to the cliffs edges with Lionpaw.
He was baffled by Lionpaw’s company, not knowing why the tom spent time with him. There were many other apprentices who were better than Turtlepaw, and who didn’t spend hours showing Lionpaw his pebble and feather collection.
Climbing up the base of the cliffs, they were able to see the Briarclan fields without his lungs hurting. Lionpaw took him there often, and when they were both given their full names, he broke his vigil to take Turtlestepper there.
Lioncatch confessed his love to Turtlestepper, and the two became mates. He still wondered why Lioncatch bothered staying with him, considering he wasn’t particularly interesting, but overtime he was able to be convinced to socialize with other cats.
The next newleaf, his lungs got worse and worse. He even took to carrying around a moss ball soaked in nauseating mouse bile to cover the pollen. After a particularly bad episode which he could barely remember, he was shocked to wake up with Lioncatch pressed against his side with his nose buried in Turtlestepper’s shoulder.
“I thought you were dead,” Lioncatch muttered around a face-full of fur.
“I’m not,” Turtlestepper had replied awkwardly, lungs aching at the words.  “You could have been, Turtle. You almost died again.”
Turtlestepper coughed again, and Lioncatch looked at him, full of sympathy as he helped groom him.
When Lioncatch was offered the role of deputy, he refused instantly, wanting to focus on his mate and family. Lioncatch grew more and more concerned for him every day, and after the third episode in one moon he asked if Turtlestepper would leave with him.
Turtlestepper was shocked, taken aback by the idea of leaving his clan. Lioncatch convinced him that it would be better for them both if they could go somewhere else, and the two announced that they were leaving a few nights after.
Like expected, Turtlestepper’s family didn’t seem to care much. Yarrowstar, on the other hand, spent a long time pressed against him, begging him to be safe. Skipperbug was supportive, helping him gather his collections.
They left with four wraps: travelling herbs, pebbles, feathers, and herbs for his lungs.  A week later, they found a group of kittypets who were hunting near the flower fields. Lioncatch noticed that they smelled mostly of rogues, but he couldn’t tell.
They lead them back to their camp, and Lioncatch seemed confused on why the clan was full of kittypets and rogues. The leader explained that they were daylight warriors, and Turtlestepper instantly wanted to become one.
Lioncatch was worried about staying in Lilacclan, considering the large flower fields, but after some convincing they lived part time at the barn and part time in the camp.
Despite the pollen, Turtlestepper had never been happier, and quickly became close friends with many cats. Lioncatch was jealous, trying to convince him to stay with him more often. Oblivious to this, Turtlestepper became very good friends with a barn cat named Thrifttail.
Come leafbare, Turtlestepper got very cold during the night and spent many of his nights curled up with Thrifttail while Lioncatch was at the camp. Thrifttail admitted to having a crush on him, and Turtlestepper gently let him down, explaining that he was already mates with Lioncatch.
He told his mate one day, unaware of how Lioncatch’s pelt bristled with anger.   Two days later, Thrifttail was found with his throat slashed out. Turtlestepper was horrified, not leaving his mate’s side for the next moon.
One of the daylight warriors, Claire, offered to teach him to swim, and soon they spent most evenings in the water. They got along amazingly, and she was always very nice to him. He finally had a friend!
One day, however, she asked him why he was so weird, and he felt hurt and pounced on her in the water. He only meant to push her! But Claire had hit her head on a rock, and when the waves lapped over them, he lost his grip on her and she was swept out into the lake while he fumbled blindly to try to pull her to safety.
When Claire’s mate, Rookleg, yowled that it was his fault, Turtlestepper believed him and grew quiet and dismissive.
Almost a week later, he left the barn at night after waking up to a cold nest. At first he just sat outside in the cool breeze.
Until he heard fighting.
Following the sound, he found a large cat standing over an injured Rookleg. He leapt to try and pull the cat off of Rookleg, but the attacker took a step back and Turtlestepper’s claws slipped into Rookleg’s throat.
The blood bubbled around his paws as Rookleg gurgled for breath a moment before he stilled. Turtlestepper scrambled away from the warm body, shaking his paws aggressively. Looking up at the strange cat, he saw that it was Lioncatch.
Instantly, he ran.
His mate followed him to the barn, trying to get him to listen. “It’s not what you think, I was protecting you!”
Turtlestepper squeezed his eyes shut, climbing up the crates into the top of the barn. Lioncatch was soaked in blood, and he shook in fear as his mate approached him.
Turtlestepper’s paws skidded on the thin plank, and he crouched in terror as his mate tried to convince him to come down. He hissed and spat and curled in on himself, lungs tightening until he passed out.
He heard Lioncatch yell out, but he was already falling off of the plank and onto the stone floor below. Vision blurry, the last thing he saw was Lioncatch jumping after him.
Additional Information:
-- Turtlestepper had asthma, allergies, and likely autism. He enjoyed the water because it helped clear his lungs, and fish was the only prey he could catch.

-- He has a  mostly white body with short fur, white ears and white paws. His left legs are white, and his right right are pale brown with black patches. He has two black splotches on his back and two on his shoulder. The back of his neck is a slightly darker brown and he has dark brown stripes on his face. His face is mostly pale brown with a cream muzzle and black nose bridge. His ears have black tufts, and he has corn flower blue eyes. He has one thin scar from a bramble along his throat, a stub tail, and a slightly pudgy belly.

Basic Relationships
Even as a kit, his mother often ignored him and spent more time with his older brother. Because of this, TurtleKit hated his brother growing up and that never changed as he got older.
YarrowStar took on the role of his mother because his own mother refused to raise him, and into his apprenticeship he still slept in her den. YarrowStar was very gentle towards him, and the two were quite close and she even introduced him as her son at a gathering.
SkipperBug became his medicine mentor and despite his stern nature the two got along well. SkipperBug developed a soft spot for his apprentice and would always support him through times when his allergies were bad by setting aside herbs for him and taking over some duties so TurtleStepper could sit at the cliff base to clear his lungs a bit.
LionCatch and TurtleStepper got very close when they were apprentices, and LionCatch developed feelings for him and confessed when they were made warriors. They were loving mates for a year before their deaths. LionCatch was very, very protective and was willing to give anything up for TurtleStepper. LionCatch tried to murder a clanmate and because of TurtleStepper’s lack of fighting skills he accidentally killed the clanmate himself while trying to save him. TurtleStepper ran, terrified of his mate and they both fell off of the barn beams. In the dark forest they typically avoid each other, but LionCatch keeps trying to talk with him and explain what happened.
ThriftTail and TurtleStepper met at the barn, and because both of them had short fur they became good friends that winter by keeping eachother warm in the barn. The two were quite close, best friends even, and ThriftTail told him he had a crush on him, and TurtleStepper said he didn’t feel the same. ThriftTail respected his decision and the two carried on being friends as usual. When TurtleStepper told LionCatch about his confession, LionCatch killed ThriftTail and framed it as a brutal attack by loners.
Claire and TurtleStepper were great friends, and the two went swimming every day where they would weave reeds and just talk. Claire also had allergies, so they had a common ground. Claire even viewed him as her younger brother. While swimming, she jokingly asked him why he was so weird when he got excited over a school of minnows. TurtleStepper didn’t realize she was joking, and felt hurt. He pounced on her in the water and instead of pushing her like he intended she hit her head on a rock and she drowned while he fumbled to save her in the waves. Up until his death, everyday he would leave a cluster of buttercup flowers on the beach for her.
After his revival, he becomes close friends with the whisperclan med cat named BirdLeap.
Facts:
He is autistic, and often makes too much eye contact with cats.

TurtleStepper and FleaThistle would both 100% be willing to throw paws if it meant Owlears is happy. I feel like it would be like the “they asked for no pickles” dynamic but instead of one being scary they’re all just.. gentle fluff blobs — @wills-woodland-warriors
The Dark Forest fights over him

I think ShrikePollen would be team PoppyHill, HoneyPudding would be neutral towards them both. TurtleStepper would be sympathetic towards them both, and WhiteHeart would be 100% team FernDoe — @wills-woodland-warriors

There’s probably a LOT on here that do have refs, but I’m not gonna double-check every single one lol
Feel free to do one if you want! I’m fine with anyone using the Turukhan ref for my characters, you’ll have to ask the character’s owner if they belong to someone else. Link of who’s character belongs to who is on the long post linked on the pinned post.
Sometimes I don’t realize a character has a ref, because a different kind was given than the ychs I usually use, so let me know!

Garden Day
FleaThistle huffed, shaking the seeds off of his paw pad and into the small hole he’d dug.
He sat back, stretching out his shoulders and for a brief moment he tried to imagine that the sun was still here, that this was just another time building a garden after sneaking away from camp.
Opening his eyes, the mangled shadowed branches above swayed slightly in the wind, with small wispy clouds covering one of the red moons.
The dim light shun down on his garden, making the poppies look almost as if they were glowing.
Convincing cats to let them pick through their fur to find stray seeds was quite a challenge, but with the help of some friends they ended up with a good pile of seeds.
MottleCry was kind enough to help them gather organs, and he’d even convinced GoblinSnap and GremlinFrost to help!
Even if the two were a bit concerning in the ways they got them..
Picking through his fur, he thought of all the people who had helped him with the garden.
MouseSpots was another friend who helped out, along with BasilTooth and Ferndoe.
As soon as FleaThistle found the small, speck-like poppy seeds he knew that he had to grow her some flowers. Depending on how many they can grow, she might even be able to give the newest residents some as welcoming gifts!
It was kind of weird, being so excited while in hell. FleaThistle had expected to be killed again within the first few minutes, but most of the cats here were relatively nice.
He’d been so scared, so anxious when he had arrived. Frozen in the spot, he had squeezed his eyes shut and waited for the pain.
But none of them hurt him, and now he’s here. Building a garden with some amazing friends.
Especially FadingStar. He was so cool. He listened and even took interest in his plants, and was the one to suggest starting a garden.
The small sprouts struggled to grow in the damp and murky depths of the dark forest, but after some trial and error they had a bit of plant diversity, although they did have a lot of mushrooms…
FleaThistle stretched, shaking the dirt from his pelt as he carefully stepped around the sprouts.
MottleCry’s extra long claws were a huge help once he’d convinced the pale Tom, and he made small rows for them.
FleaThistle crouched, leaping over a patch of moss with small spot-like white flowers in it, his paws slipping in the mud.
Sliding into a tree, he quietly tried to unpeel himself from the bark, looking up to a very confused FadingStar.
“I left you for five minutes, what happened?” FadingStar said through a mouthful of rocks, the words muffled and distorted.
“Trees.” FleaThistle blinked blankly, giving his chest fluff an awkward lick as he tried not to laugh.
It was a pitiful attempt, broken by JackDawFoot rounding the corner with a pelt full of random leaves and twigs he’d gotten stuck in his fur while helping them.
JackDaw looked at them blankly, with FleaThistle’s forearms still wrapped around the tree in an almost-embrace, and FadingStar trying to talk around a mouthful of rocks.
FleaThistle tried to smile at JackDaw, but the absolutely massive Tom just shook his head slowly and walked over to help them as FadingStar choked on a pebble.
FleaThistle gave a very happy little chirp as he properly detached from the tree, bouncing over to pick through JackDaw’s fluff for seeds.
He dug through the soft, wispy grey-brown strands, tilting his head down so as not to have the fur tickle his muzzle, as he gently pawed through his fur, careful not to pull.
They had found most of the seeds buried in JackDaws pelt so far, and in TurtleStepper’s herb pouch where he puts the dried herbs used for his asthma.
Poking out of the fluff to look at the others, with them laughing and talking as if this were a normal day outside of camp, mingling between patrols, it was growing easy to feel at ease here.
And maybe the dark forest wasn’t as bad as he thought.
______
The garden is surrounded by pebbles that TurtleStepper collects
FernDoe spends a lot of time looking at the budding flowers.
LoonFur has tried to pour blood on the seedlings in an attempt to “make them stronger” and FleaThistle didn’t have the heart to tell her no so he made a small patch for her to take care of a few small mushrooms, which are the hardiest ones he could find.
Jackdaw just walks by the garden once a day or so and just. Shakes a ton of seeds from his pelt. TurtleStepper has 100% had an asthma attack from this and been banned from getting too close to the garden
While picking through jackdaws fur for seeds, FleaThistle just goes off about how pretty FadingStar is and jackdaw is just sitting there, fur over his eyes so he can’t even see, as a tiny ass sarcastic fleaball of a cat pokes his head out of his fur to talk about his crush.
FleaThistle keeps the first flower he ever grew in his nest
StumpPaw and FleaThistle have “gardening night” where once a week they teach everyone who’s interested how to properly care for a plant.
Each cat gets there own sprout to take care of
