hello!! my name is raspberry, and my main blog is @ticklishraspberries - i made this sideblog because my account is getting super cluttered. i have over 200 fics and making a masterpost with tumblr's horrific, glitchy html editing is an actual nightmare. half of my links don't work and people can't find my stuff, and neither can i, so i'm hoping that this page will make things easier for us all!!

Destroying Angel
Here's a shitty little Dani and Theo blurb only loosely copy-edited because I'm lazy. Thank you to @oceanmusings @vxntxque and @darlingsoulbeautifulthoughts for reading it over.
TW: What Dani does isn't exactly s/h but could still be triggering
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘This deadly herb is in itself fate,
Many times given through anger and hate,
Some take it to find everlasting peace,
For a beating heart it will quickly cease’
-Kieran J
There was no magic in the world that could bring back the dead. No potion, enchantment or curse. Once the line between the living and the death was crossed, no soul would ever return. That did not mean the line couldn’t be tiptoed.
Danielle Price would never set eyes on her parents in the land of the living, so instead she traded moments of her mortal life with the land of the dead.
Five berries was all it took. Usually, Dani would wait longer between experiments, both to allow her body to remove the poison in her system, and to avoid any unfortunate run-ins with the other girls in the dormitory. She couldn’t wait this time. Not when she was so close to a breakthrough.
It began first as a shortness of breath as she was slowly suffocated from the inside. This was not a pastime Dani would recommend trying at home. Despite the way her skin chilled, a red flush rose to her cheeks. The process took longer each time, yet remained consistent in its discomfort. Her hands became clammy as the last remaining berry fell from her grip before it could reach her violet lips.
Suddenly they were before her. Albeit slightly translucent, the image of Atlas and Genevieve Price was almost clear as day.
“Mama.” Dani made to step forward, but her legs were jelly and the ground was swirling mist. Each heightened dose always worked a little harder to try and kill her.
Purple foam bubbled and dripped from her lips as her knees buckled beneath her. She hit the ground and something snapped beneath her. Her wrist. She glanced up, her parents were already flickering in and out of existence. No. She needed to stay in this moment. She was so close.
Tucking her injured wrist beneath her, Dani used her other hand to drag herself toward the fallen berry. Bile burned her throat and she coughed, gasping for any sliver of oxygen she could get. Just a little longer, that was all she needed. Her veins were solid ice, but she was not deterred. With a trembling hand she reached out, her juice-stained fingertips just brushing the berry before it was crushed by polished black leather.
Dani’s eyes trailed from the intruder's shoe up to the face that hovered over her, features etched in concern.
“Teddy.”
He looked like a wingless angel who had been tossed from the heavens and landed on his feet. Instead, he had landed on her last chance to see her parents. Their image was almost completely transparent now, flickering in and out of life. So much had led to this moment. The air was sharp with the sense of finality. Somehow, this felt like the end.
“No, no I need to see them! Mama! Papa!” She tried to push past Theodore, scrambling toward the illusion, but his hands wrapped around her waist and hoisted her up and away from the scene. Still, she clawed at his arms and squirmed like a wild creature, fighting for one more glimpse until exhaustion gave out.
When her panic ebbed she realised she was cradled in Theo’s arms, her cheek pressed against the soft jumper covering his chest. She wasn’t sure when the tears had started but she was more than crying. Great sobs wracked through her body as the illusion vanished and she gulped down heaving breaths of air.
At some point she found herself perched on the edge of her bed. The poison had been wiped away from her skin, though her fingertips appeared more magenta than pink. Theo’s fingers in her hair were trembling but gentle and comforting and wrong.
Suddenly she whirled on Theo, jabbing a finger into his chest. “You had no right!”
“No right? Merlin, Dan, I just saved your life!”
“I don’t need your help. It never lasts long.” She had never pushed herself too far before. Today had just been a fluke, a consequence of ingesting the poison too soon since the last time.
“How long, Dani?” The edge of fear in his voice was off putting. Nott feared nothing.
There was a certain weight to the feeling of someone fearing for you rather than simply fearing you. It was nothing like the concern of a parent at the playground or a professor when your grade slipped. The seriousness of Theo’s gaze ran so much deeper, enough to make Dani a little sorry for what she had been doing.
“It has nothing to do with you.” She spoke low, trying to rekindle the fire in which her fury had burned. Instead, she felt defeated.
“It has everything to do with me,” Theo insisted. He was gripping her shoulders firmly, wether to keep her anchored or stop her from trying to get away, Dani didn’t know. “Did you ever stop to think about the living people who cared about you? You’re killing yourself for something that isn’t even real.”
“They’re real enough.” They were all she had.
“No, they’re not. No magic in the world can make an illusion care for you. I- we, the living, care about you. You don’t need to poison yourself for that.” He picked up the remnants of the crushed belladonna and tossed it into the fire. “The rest?”
“That was all I had.” She kept her eyes focused on the fire, her tears blurring the flames so that it looked as if she were swimming in them. She truly felt as if she were burning, incinerating months of the disillusion that her mother and father hadn’t left her for good.
Theodore knelt down before her, there was a cut on his cheek from her nails that made Dani wince, and brushed a sweat soaked strand of hair from her face. She hated when he became soft. It made her feel as though she deserved it.
“Show me the rest, Dani.”
With a sigh, Dani stumbled to her dresser, opening the top draw to reveal several vials of plants and berries. Lily of the Valley, black bryony, Thornapple and all manners of poisons, some of which she had grown herself. She hesitated, moving to shut the draw again but Theo’s hand circled her wrist, gently prying it away. Dani dropped her hands to her sides in shame while Theodore moved with determination between the dresser and the fireplace in the center of the dorm. One by one Theo uncapped each vial, discarding the contents into the flames as if each pour didn’t twist Danielle’s heart into knots as she let go of the one connection to her parents.
It was easier to hold herself back from stopping him than she’d imagined. The land of the living had been waiting for her with open arms, leading her down from the tightrope between line and death until it was her time.
Okay though this is bad because now I cannot stop thinking about a Lord of the Rings musical that's structured like a traditional musical??? With all non-diegetic songs???
Like, where would the songs be? What moments are emotionally and/or narratively important enough to warrant a song that the other characters can't hear? Like, yeah we have "Now And For Always" in the musical, but even though it's been added to a scene where there wasn't singing in the book, it's still diegetic! What does the "I wonder if we'll be put in songs or tales" scene look like as a non-diegetic song? What happens to the scenes where there canonically are songs? Is it implied that they are singing something in-universe, but what we're hearing is not that? What do everyone's inner voices sound like? What does the musical style sound like?
Right off the bat, there are exactly 3 composers I would trust to do the music correctly. Alan Menken (cause of Hunchback, tangled the series, and weirdly enough Galavant?), Frank Wildhorn (mainly because of Xcalibur), or Chris Miller (because of Tuck Everlasting, the most Middle Earth-y sounding musical that's not actually set in Middle Earth). But would it be weird having distinctly musical theater-y music in Middle Earth? Would it work? Ahh?
Input from fellow lotr / musical / lotr musical fans would be much appreciated?? Let's talk about this???
EDIT: Beloved coworker pointed out that this opens up the possibility that the orcs could sing??? Lord of the Rings villain songs??? This adds even more nonsense???
“Is it rude to say I’d volunteer  For a day of fun just once a year? I’d fly the coop, if only I could... But I've got a really bad case of being good! I’d go find trouble if there was some to get in: Ask a friend to play if I had one to let in... Nana’s rocker sawing through the floor -- Every day just like the one before --  We lock ourselves behind that door... Is it wrong to wish for something more?
Carewyn’s gingham dress based on this design // original photo used for the background, edited with Lunapic! 💚
If asked about her childhood, Carewyn Cromwell would always say that even if her family was poor and she had to wear a lot of second-hand dresses when she was growing up, she, her mother Lane, and her brother Jacob still were nonetheless able to manage all right. What Carewyn often did not talk about was at just how young of an age she was forced to start looking after herself -- something that many people would look at with quite a bit more dismay than Carewyn herself did, looking back at her own circumstances.
Now to be clear, Lane Cromwell was a very loving and caring mother -- but with the abandonment of her husband Evan and the abrupt lack of financial income that came with it, Lane had to take on the role of both breadwinner and caregiver simultaneously. While Carewyn was a toddler, that forced Lane to do menial laundry and seamstressing work from home, as well borrow some money from her good friend Judy Castine to help make ends meet until Carewyn could start public school. Once Carewyn did start school, however, Lane still couldn’t afford childcare -- and so, after doing a lot of research and preparation, Lane made the difficult decision to teach her nearly-five-year-old daughter how to walk home from her new primary school. Understandably worried for Carewyn’s safety walking anywhere by herself, Lane used both magical and Muggle means to ensure she would know Carewyn’s location at all times, on her way coming home from school. Lane made contact with several trustworthy adults along Carewyn’s route, like the elderly owner of the local ice cream parlor, Mrs. Sackett, and introduced Carewyn to each of them, so that they could help Carewyn get home in case of an emergency or even call Lane if they didn’t see Carewyn walk by at a specific time. Lane also taught Carewyn about the Knight Bus, which she could always call by sticking her left hand out over the street, just in case anyone tried to hurt or grab her. Judy even gifted Lane a small Magical-Child-Monitor watch from Diagon Alley in preparation of Carewyn’s first year at school, which could always tell Lane whether Carewyn was at “school” or “home,” whether she was “traveling,” or even whether she was “lost” or “in distress.” (The last feature Judy customized to make the watch chirp loudly, just in case Lane didn’t notice it immediately. Lane kind of had wished she hadn’t, given how loud it was, but appreciated the sentiment.)
Most children about to turn five would’ve been petrified at the thought of walking anywhere by themselves. Carewyn, fortunately, had always been a rather brave and independent child -- and considering that she knew her mother needed to keep her job in order to provide for all of them, the little girl took the responsibility onto her tiny shoulders like a champ, walking home with her head held high every day with no sense of fear or resentment. She and Jacob were all their Mum had now, after all, and with Jacob away at school, Carewyn knew she had to do her best to help take care of Lane, just like Lane did her and Jacob. Jacob always made her promise to take care of their mother and flat before leaving for Hogwarts every year...and Carewyn would never break a promise to her brother.
So every day, from the age of 4 all the way to 11, Carewyn Cromwell walked home from school every single day by herself, straight home to her mother’s and her flat, where she’d lock the door and stay safe inside until her mum came home. And to Lane’s relief, in that entire time, the single mother never heard her Magical-Child-Monitor watch chirp once -- for truly, Carewyn had always been a rather risk-adverse child. Her brother Jacob used to break into the kitchen cabinets and try to drink bleach as a baby, but Carewyn? Lane herself would often compare her daughter to a “little angel,” never starting trouble or getting into anything she shouldn’t. And because Carewyn knew Lane was working so hard trying to do well for her and Jacob, the last thing Carewyn wanted to do was make things more difficult for her mother -- so she stoically followed the same routine every day without complaint, going to school just for her classes and then heading straight home, all the while trying hard to not to let any accidental magic slip out that could make anyone side-eye Carewyn or her family any more than they already did.
This didn’t mean that Carewyn didn’t ever quietly lament the arrangement, of course. What child wouldn’t? It was hard having to see other kids getting picked up by their parents in their cars when it was wet or snowing outside. It was hard to have to walk straight home when there was an exciting football match going on in the field near the local secondary school. It was hard to sit cooped-up inside when Carewyn could hear all the neighborhood kids riding their bikes on a sunny Friday afternoon.
But hey, Carewyn told herself gloomily -- she didn’t even have a bike to ride on next to them anyway. And really, she thought more stubbornly, they’d probably just think she was a freak like everyone else did, which meant they’d only say nasty things that would make her upset and make her cast magic by accident anyway. And then she’d scare everyone, and the Ministry would have to come in and fix things...and her mother would worry. Carewyn couldn’t worry Lane...
And so Carewyn stayed inside dutifully, day after lonely day, soldiering through with no complaint. Because really, all of that silence was worth it, the moment Jacob would come home for a holiday break. As soon as he was home, Carewyn wouldn’t be alone, and with someone else around at home, it was safer to go outside without her mother. She and Jacob could walk to the park or the library -- to Mrs. Sackett’s ice cream parlor, or maybe even take a trip to the beach. Even being inside some of the time wasn’t so hard, when Carewyn didn’t always have to be by herself. And then once Lane was home too, they could all eat dinner together, the way Carewyn wished they could every night -- laughing and talking and sharing and bonding the way they all loved doing. And once Carewyn started at Hogwarts herself...well, then she’d be able to go wherever she wanted, whenever she wanted -- be the great witch she wanted to be, instead of the “freak” ginger that the Muggles in her neighborhood would never understand. She’d be able to play out every single wild daydream Jacob and Lane had sparked to life inside of her through all their stories about the magical school -- cast spells, brew potions, visit all the shops of Hogsmeade village...play Quidditch, sing for the Frog Choir...maybe even tame a real-life dragon!
Carewyn held fast to this thought and never let go of it. Once she could go to Hogwarts and chase her dreams, Jacob and her mother rooting for her all the while...all those silent, cooped-up, lonely days of the past would be worth it.
Vampires Will Never Hurt You (Harry Styles)
Chapter 1
Note: this entire story is cringe keep in mind i was a lot younger when i wrote this also it was written in 2020 so yeah try not to judge me too hard
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:*⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
"Immortality? Really Faye?" My best friend, Donna, gave me a death glare. The two of us were sitting in the bay window of my house, reading my grandmother's grimoire we had found in the attic.
"Hey, you're immortal, I'm immortal, it's not a big deal," I kept my head down and closely examined the page.
"You've been immortal for a long time, Callahan. I'm only in my 51st year and let me tell you, it's a big deal. It's a huge deal," Donna tried to reason with me, but I had already made up my mind.
"Look, I haven't officially learned how to do an immortality spell yet, and most witches my age have, so, I'm going to test it out on like, a frog or something," I murmured and Donna stood up from the window seat.
"What is this, Tuck Everlasting? You can't just have some immortal frog hopping around this place. This spell basically makes vampires, do you want some murderous, bloodthirsty immortal frog roaming the Earth freely? People could get hurt!" Donna stressed. I gave more thought into it and came to the conclusion that she was right, a frog doesn't know right from wrong, and as far as I knew, has no conscience. I knew I had to test it on a human instead.
"First of all, it was a toad in Tuck Everlasting, and maybe you'd know that if you'd actually read the book when I bought it for you 40 years ago, and second of all," I paused, "I get your point. I shouldn't make a frog my lab rat, but if not a frog, then what do you suggest? Any animal is going to be unkillable and bloodthirsty with this spell, so we could at least choose an animal who can't do much harm."
That sent Donna into deep thought. What animal could you barely tell the difference from if you turned it into a vampire? Bat? Mosquito? Tick?
Donna then lifted her finger up and gasped rather dramatically. "What if you alter the spell so that there's a weakness?"
"Good idea, how the hell do I do that?" I bookmarked and closed the grimoire.
"You think I know? You're a lot older than me, your whole family is. Why don't you ask one of them?" She sat back down.
"What, do you think I can just walk up to one of them and just ask how to give vampires weaknesses? They aren't going to approve of it," I told her.
"What about Charlie?" She was right.
That's the thing about my siblings, you had Maude, the oldest, who truly believes she is in charge of everything any of us do, you have Jane, the second oldest, the most powerful witch you'll ever meet but you'd never know, the two youngest, Leonard and Eleanor, who is constantly traveling the world together, me of course, the baby of the family, and then there's Charlie, the middle child. Charlie isn't your average witch, he knows how to have fun. If you're planning on doing something you know you shouldn't be doing, Charlie is your guy to go to.
"You're right. He might not approve of it though," I added, knowing that no matter who you are, immortality spells are not something to fuck with casually.
"Just be hypothetical, you know. Like, don't say, 'Hey Charlie, how do you edit an immortality spell so we can turn a frog into a vampire frog', just go with something like, 'if we were to be messing with vampiric immortality, how would you add weakness to the spell, right?" Donna suggested.
"Ok, you're right. I'm going to head over to their house to ask right now, wanna come along?" I asked Donna as I stood up, and whipped my long black hair behind me. I grabbed the old grimoire and slid it into my backpack.
"Yeah, can we go to Panera afterward? I heard they hired a few new cottagecore employees," Donna giggled.
"They're really doing that now, huh?" I asked as I walked out the door of the small house I shared with Donna.
"Yeah. You should get a job at IHOP!" She turned around in front of me excitedly as we walked to the car.
"Why? Because I'm goth?" I gave her an 'are you kidding me' look from my spot in the driver's seat.
"No, because your manners are impeccable and you're great with new people," she deadpanned back at me.
"Okay, okay, I'll consider it, should we go to IHOP instead of Panera to see if I can get an interview?" I gripped my hands on the steering wheel, but I'm fairly certain Donna had zoned out, as she was scrolling on her phone now.
"Yeah, sure." I loved that girl, but damn, she had a habit of not listening.
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:*⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
"Immortality, Faye? Again?" Charlie whined in his recliner in the living room of the Callahan's house, home to the eldest three siblings, and their mother, Cecilia. Charlie was definitely a creature of the night, he drank iced tea in that recliner and never moved all day, then went out and partied every night.
"That was one time, I didn't think immortality was gonna kill him. I thought it would, you know, make him immortal. And that's beside the point, I'm not going to test it on a human this time, I promise," I lied straight through my teeth, but he didn't need to know that. I sat down on the arm of his chair, hoping to get a straight answer out of him.
"Ok, don't tell me details, and I can't say no, sound good?" Charlie closed his eyes and shook his hands in a dismissing matter. That, my friends, is why we fuck with Charlie.
"Great, now weaknesses?" I put my hands together and gave him a sweet face.
"Right, okay, let's see, vampires, vampires, you'd probably want to go with something original, right, so, maybe like a stake to the heart, decapitation, garlic, sunlight, burning, holy water, etc?" Charlie somehow pulled all of those examples from his brain on the spot, amazing me.
"Actually, no. If I'm creating, as far as we know, the first vampire, I can't have the weaknesses be obvious, maybe we should go for something obscure, like only one specific item can kill them, you know?" I responded to his question.
"No, Faye, I really don't. But anyway, for the item, I'd suggest pricking them with that object while tracing the sigil, or better yet, if it's something sharp, use it to carve the sigil into them."
"That sounds a little gruesome, even for me. Maybe I'll go with the first choice," I paused, "not that it'd matter anyway because it's only gonna be on an animal." I gave my best fake smile, and he narrowed his eyes at me for a few moments then he just turned his head back to the TV.
"Whatever. I don't care, just don't kill anyone, including yourself, or else, I'm going to have to tell Maude, or maybe even Mom, and trust me, neither of us wants that. I'm going to IHOP tonight for dinner, are either of you interested in joining?" He lazily pointed his finger between me and Donna, and she seemed to widen her eyes.
"What, you got a thing against IHOP?" He asked Donna.
"No, it's just, well, since when do you invite us to go to dinner with you?" Donna muttered quietly.
"Since I don't trust you two alone with an immortality spell. I gave you tips, if this backfires, it's on me, so if you say no, I hope you know that you'll be joining me at IHOP tonight anyway," he warned us. Donna nodded her head, and we briskly walked away from the living room.
Unveiling the Art of Wedding Videography Services
In the ever-evolving world of weddings, capturing the essence and magic of the moment has become an art form in itself. Among the myriad of choices available to couples, wedding videography services have emerged as a timeless and cherished way to immortalize the most special day of their lives. The artistry involved in wedding videography goes beyond merely documenting events; it encapsulates emotions, weaves a narrative, and transforms fleeting moments into everlasting memories.
Capturing Emotions in Motion:
Unlike traditional wedding photography, which freezes moments in time, wedding videography focuses on the fluidity of emotions. A skilled wedding videographer understands the nuances of storytelling, using their lens to capture not just the sights but also the sounds, laughter, and tears that define a wedding day. From the nervous excitement of the bride getting ready to the heartfelt vows exchanged at the altar, every emotion is meticulously documented to create a cinematic experience that transcends traditional photography.
youtube
A Cinematic Journey:
Modern wedding videography is akin to creating a cinematic masterpiece. With advancements in technology, videographers can shoot in high definition, use drones for breathtaking aerial shots, and employ professional editing techniques to give the final product a polished and cinematic feel. This approach transforms a wedding video into more than a mere documentation; it becomes a visual journey that transports viewers back to the day, allowing them to relive the joy, love, and celebration.
Personalization and Creativity:
One of the key elements that sets wedding videography apart is the ability to personalize the storytelling. Each couple is unique, and their love story deserves to be told in a way that reflects their individuality. Skilled videographers work closely with couples to understand their personalities, preferences, and the story behind their love. This collaboration results in a customized video that not only documents the events but also tells a narrative that resonates with the couple and their loved ones.
Technological Innovations:
The art of Wedding Videography Galway is constantly evolving, driven by technological advancements. From 4K resolution to virtual reality experiences, videographers are embracing the latest tools to enhance the quality and impact of their work. Drones, in particular, have revolutionized wedding videography by providing breathtaking aerial shots that capture the grandeur of wedding venues and the surrounding landscapes.
Preserving Memories for Generations:
Wedding videography services play a crucial role in preserving memories for future generations. Unlike photographs tucked away in albums, a well-crafted wedding video serves as a living testament to the love and joy shared on that special day. It becomes a family heirloom, passed down from one generation to the next, allowing future family members to witness and connect with the love story that started it all.
youtube
In conclusion, the art of wedding videography is a dynamic and evolving field that goes beyond mere documentation. It is about capturing emotions, telling a unique story, and creating a cinematic experience that stands the test of time. As couples continue to seek innovative ways to commemorate their special day, Wedding Videography Limerick will undoubtedly remain an integral and cherished part of the wedding industry, preserving love stories for generations to come.
sun. nov 27 - 11:30 am
writing: let me be your everlasting light (aka: 12 days - pool bet fic)
mood: tired. agitated. a little anxious. mostly tired.
music: kings of leon - come around sundown (extended edition)
distractions: beth’s coughing, eric winter, new york exes chenford au, my inability to sit still, what outfit i’m going to wear today,
thoughts: i am buzzing about the mid-season finale of the rookie for no reason. well, for eric winter related reasons. that man is so fucking hot? he looks like he smells really good. i should probably eat breakfast but i’m going to be eating italian food in like 2 hours. i have a decent amount of work to do but i would rather be writing and playing runescape. i wish i knew how to do that sweater over dress tuck trick. i googled it and i do not like the odds of me being able to make it look cute.
time spent writing: 70 minutes
word count: 5000
words written: 975
