Stanley's "Order" of Endings in his Parable
Got bored and decided to map out a pseudo-canonical order of endings that Stanley himself would most likely get. You can use it as a reference for stuff if you want. Or not. Really i made this entirely for fun.
Beware of Spoilers for The Stanley Parable below
Note: this is not entirely strict. Stanley would likely also be getting a bunch of repeat endings whilst exploring & messing around before reaching the “end”
1. Insanity/Mariella Ending (down the stairs)
Based on what little characterization of pre-parable Stanley we have, the choices made to get to this ending seems like what he would naturally do if left to his own devices, and so it would be the first ending Stanley gets. It’s also the ending in which we are directly shown Stanley realizing The Narrator’s presence, which is important.
I imagine the first time he gets this ending his thoughts line up with what The Narrator is saying almost perfectly while the later times he gets it he’s just like “bro stop projecting onto me just go get therapy- OW MY CHEST FUCK FUCK FU-”
2.Coward Ending (close the office door)
Tries to get his bearings after the insanity ending, ends up getting fucked over by The Narrator.
3.“Powerful”/Fall-to-Death Ending (leap from cargo lift to floor)
Mix of post-insanity-&-coward-endings-panic and the starting seeds of Stanley’s patented Stanley Spite (™).
4.Freedom Ending (obey The Narrator)
Before the parable, Stanley was always one to follow orders, and after the last two endings, he decides that maybe this situation will be over faster if he goes along with The Narrator.
5.Defiance/Other Games Ending (blue door)
With a new sense of self agency, and frustrated about the reset, Stanley’s Stanley Spite (™) kicks into high gear.
6.Out of bounds Ending
Stanley tests out the nature of his apparent “in-a-video-game” reality.
7.Broom Closet Ending
Stanley just decides to fuck with The Narrator.
8.Countdown Ending
A mix of curiosity, spite, and frustration leads stanley to try and turn on the Mind Control Facility.
9.Serious Room Ending
Stanley tries to call upon video-game-protagonist powers to break the game and escape.
9.5. Door 430 Achievement
During Stanley’s excursions into meta-ness, he discovers the door 430 achievement and decides to try it out after escaping the Serious room.
10.Confusion Ending
Stanley pretty much gets this ending by exploring and messing around trying to fuck with The Narrator some more. What else is there to say?
11.Apartment Ending
After getting the confusion ending and door 430 achievement, Stanley has begun to feel a sense of comradery with The Narrator and is now a little more trusting of him. Perhaps too trusting?
12.The Zending
Where the confusion ending and door 430 achievement gave Stanley a sense of comradery with The Narrator, the existential nightmare of the Apartment Ending served as a bitter reminder of Stanley’s role in this strange place, so when the opportunity to make The Narrator feel genuine distress arose, Stanley took it without a second thought.
13.Escape/Museum Ending
The Narrator tries to get revenge on Stanley for the Zending
14.Escape pod Ending
Whilst exploring and testing things out, Stanley finds the escape pod.
15.Choices/Reality/Not Stanley Ending
During one of the resets, Stanley discovers he can unplug the phone
It just feels right that this should be the last “real” ending Stanley gets before settling down in the Heaven Ending room
16.Heaven Ending
After the mindfuck that was the last reset, Stanley decides that enough is enough, and settles down in the Heaven Ending room, which he likely discovered earlier. He remains there until Ultra Deluxe comes out.
17.New Content, Memory Zone/Skip Button, Not-so-Infinite Hole, and Sequel Endings
After years of button-pressing & meditating in the Heaven Room, Stanley is suddenly overcome with the unshakeable gut-feeling that something new is happening in the office, something he needs to see, and so he resets to find the “New Content” door waiting for him and The Narrator.
18.Bucket Variants of the Previous Endings
After going through the Skip Button ending, Stanley sure does need some Reassurance, and so he grabs the Bucket. Once he realizes the strange effect the Reassurance Bucket has on the endings, curiosity drives Stanley to take the Bucket everywhere he can to see what happens.
______
After getting all of the bucket variants of the endings he can remember, Stanley goes to try and see if there’s anything new he missed.
19.Cold Feet Ending
Gets this on accident while trying to reach the vent
20.Hidden Vent Ending
(no explanation needed)
21.Elevator Ending
Stanley discovers a new way to fuck with the Narrator: the elevator
22.Bottom of The MCF Ending
Moving onwards from the Elevator, Stanley wonders if The Mind Control Facility holds anything new. He always thought it was constructed a little odd. Why is it a giant pit? What’s down there anyway?
23.Bucket variants of the above Endings
Naturally
24.Collectibles ending
Inevitably
25. Epilogue
The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End Is Never The End
