This green passport TN goes where I go. It's filled with notes, musings, scribbles, and it's messy and unorganized, but invaluable to me. The art card is from the ever so talented elithien on IG.

Traveler's Notebook TTRPG?
I'm still working on that procedural play post, but here's another thing I've been thinking of (and is potentially tangentially related because it discusses modularity a lot); formatting physical game zines for use with a traveler's notebook.
Traveler's notebooks (TN) are basically just a bunch of mini-notebook inserts held together in a simple case by some elastic bands. This is what mine looks like;
I use it as a mixed design notebook and planner. A TN can typically handle about three inserts, but I've seen people really load theirs up with more, and all sorts of extra goodies too.
Basically the gist is, instead of notebooks, you'd have the "core" game rules in one zine, and then a few extra modules that you pick and choose to expand your game.
Maybe there's a GM specific insert for maps, NPCs, or items. Maybe you put in an insert that expands how combat works. I dunno! I think it's just a neat way to keep a bunch of zines together, and put together some modules to customize your game's vibe.
Admittedly, the standard TN is not really a standard paper size, but I've seen A5 covers out there, so it might not be too bad to get set up. I believe the upcoming game Dead Belt by A Couple of Drakes, might be playing with a notebook cover like this, so I'm gonna keep an out for when that fully drops.

October 2nd, 2023 | Slow morning, I worked from the coffee shop on campus for a bit. So glad that the crazy days of back-to-uni are over since it means less people on campus!
