created due the resemblance to a pro c zoo symbol that the current transpecies symbol has, despite it not being the flagmaker's fault.

the diamond in the middle symbolizes individuality, the diamond around it is its belonging in the alterhuman community and unity between other alterhuman labels and the circle behind it means community

I was gonna make a new flag along with it but uh. I have no ideas for it.

So, there are some people in this world who would say things like "if you can be transgender, why can't you be transage/transracial???"

Well, let me explain.

I've always gone by: "anything is fine as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or yourself"

So, why can't you be transage? Well, for one thing, I'm pretty sure that's another form of pedophilia in disguise.

Also, it's only ever been used as a way to mock and hurt transgender people.

If you're fictionkin or a system or anything like that, yes, sometimes ages don't match up with your physical self.

But those people still know their body's age and still use that number, and not try to insist a different number. Because it just doesn't matter that much.

And why can't you be transracial?

Easy, it's flat-out racist. This "identity" is based on diminishing and generalising an entire race down to stereotypes.

And apparently some of these "transracial" people will take the image of someone who actually IS the race they're "identifying" as and "claim" their face - even if that person says no.

There's really no saving that.

So, you might be thinking: if I'm not in support of these two things, then why do I support being transspecies (or the proper terms, therian/otherkin)?

Well, identifying as an animal or fictional character or object or plant doesn't offend anyone, for one thing.

Yes, we ARE self aware enough to recognise that animals aren't cognitive enough to be offended by this.

And I've never seen therians or otherkin diminish an entire species down to one thing or "face claim" them or not know anything about them.

It goes deeper than feelings for many of us. A lot of alterhumans experience memories and urges and will just- be connected enough to their kintype to know about them.

So, this has been a detailed explanation as to why being transgender/transspecies is not comparable to transage or transracial.

Be smart everyone.

I was just thinking about how my nonhumanity doesn’t really affect my life in any major ways and it suddenly hit me that actually my nonhumanity affects Most things in my life, I’ve just adapted my entire life around being a dog so I don’t really notice how canine I am anymore ^^’ I had the same realisation about my neurodivergence + mental illness recently where I forget how much they affect my life until I’m in an unfamiliar situation or I suddenly loose one of my coping strategies because I’ve shaped my entire life and routine around effectively managing my symptoms. now that I’m actually thinking about it everything from the ways I communicate to the way I dress, the things I like to do and even my job is affected by me being a dog :-) Like I ‘mask’ my dogness in certain situations just like I mask my neurodivergence and mental illness but it’s just so much a part of my daily life that I don’t even notice it most of the time. I really should try using the term transpecies for myself bc I already identify as physically nonhuman but I guess I live socially as a human-dog most of the time too. Taking testosterone is definitely something that’s given me a lot of canine species euphoria too so I’ve really just been living my best dogthing life this year~<3
