No matter how funky your identity may be, you don't owe anyone an explanation for it. The only one who needs to understand it is you. And even then, you don't need to fully understand your own identity.

That being said I really want to try and explain my identity, simply just to see how I would put such a thing into words- or maybe even pictures. I think it could be fun!!! So later I'm going to try and do that, and if no one else understands what I mean, oh well. I think it will help me better understand what I mean.

Recently learned I’d count at other kin or alterhuman which is amazing but scary simultaneously. I’m a trying to sort out what and who I am but i know i have a snout, sharp teeth, wings, and tails. not a lot of merfolk on here talk abt how unfulfilling it is to swim in pools, to me at least, its never deep enough, the waters too clear, the chlorine stings my eyes too much.

Of course I don't live near a beach, (i.e, dont live in a walking/short drive distance from the beach. I live about 3 hours away from one.) But its always so unfulfilling to swim in pools to me, a part of it being just in a human body, the other part is that i feel trapped where i should belong.

(also to me, i love swimming in lakes, so thats much better. But i dont live near too many lakes, either.)

As a deep sea kin, it's very. Isolating to say the least. Not even mentioning the fictional part (I'm a deep sea siren) which really isn't even an issue.

I mean, I'm ok with being alone but there's really nothing made for creatures who live below the twilight zone.

I think I'm from the abyssal zone specifically but it's probably considered the "forgotten sibling" of the lower zones. I mean, the hadal zone is considered more interesting for no reason other than, it's technically the deepest. Not mentioning there's like, three zones under the twilight zone (I don't remember too well if it's 2 or 3)

Even then abyssal is the second deepest, you'd think there'd be more things about it instead of just the vague "deep sea" terms. Which are fine as general terms but it feels like it's erased the zones for anything below the twilight zone (or even the sunlight zone sometimes! {which is the top layer})

I'm just, really tired and missing any semblance of home. I know the ocean is under-explored, especially in the deeper zones so it makes some sense that there wouldn't be a lot on it but still.
