So can we start calling this the progress trans flag and using this, or is that too radical a concept for people in 2023?
Tumblr media
[ID: A version of the progress trans flag with eight horizontal stripes of: purple, black, blue, pink, white, yellow, black, and brown. In the center are concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold. End ID.]
Explicitly include nonbinary and intersex people in the trans pride flag. Not just “including nonbinary people” as a single single white stripe for people with “neutral” genders that 99% of people don’t even know is for nonbinary people, and instead think is there to represent transitioning.
If you want support nonbinary people, one small step is to explicitly include us in the trans pride flag, and not just by lumping all of us together into a single “neutral” category that seems like it’s only there to separate the pink and blue stripes.
I’m tired of binary people, both cis and trans, promoting exorsexism and erasing and speaking over nonbinary people. If the pride flag can change to explicitly include and support trans people and people of color, then the trans flag can change too.
Being trans is not just for binary men and women. It’s not just for perisex people or white people. It’s 2023. How about we put the most erased parts of our community front and center in the trans community, and how about the rest of the trans community be proud to fight with us?
There are three main versions of this flag, with the most simplified version up top.
Symmetrical version:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Three versions of the trans progress pride flag, both with symetrical horizontal stripes of purple, black, blue, pink, yellow, white, yellow, pink, blue, black, and purple. The first version includes a brown sideways chevron, followed by a gold triangle of the intersex flag, with the dark purple circle in the center. The second version has a brown diamond in the center, with concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold inside it. The third version has only the stripes. End ID.]
The white and yellow stripe on this six-striped version are reversed so that the white stripe, like the black, is easy to see against all background colors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two versions of the six-striped version of the trans progress pride flag, with stripes of purple, black, blue, pink, white, and yellow. The first version includes a brown sideways chevron, followed by a gold triangle of the intersex flag, with the purple circle in the center. The second version has a brown diamond in the center, with concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold inside it. The third version has only the stripes. End ID.]
Here is the web archive link where you can download the HD versions of these flags, including the symbols:
Do not add images to this post unless they include a plain text image description in the body of the post directly below the image.
ALT text is not accessible for everyone who needs an image description. Plain text image descriptions are the most accessible option. That’s why I used an image description and not ALT text.
Please also do not suggest replacements or variations of this flag that leave out the black, white, purple, or yellow. They were all chosen for a reason. You can add other colors if you want, but removing the purple, yellow, black, or white is just as egregious as removing the blue or pink would be.
The black, white, yellow, and purple all represent forms of identity outside the binary. Combining the black and white into grey erases so many people and completely misunderstands the purpose of those stripes.
These are the baseline colors for the flag, you can customize them via less saturation, darkness, ect, when making art or using it for your own purposes. You do not need to color pick directly from this flag any time you use it.
Edit 12/10/23: go read this post too.

Disabled trans people: I would love to bind but I physically literally can't because I'm disabled. I would love to get top surgery but I can't because I'm poor and don't have health insurance because I'm unemployed because I'm disabled. It really fucking sucks that I can't do these things because I'm disabled. People need to understand that disabled trans people exist and that binding isn't an option for many of us.
Abled trans people every single time despite not being asked: Okay cool buy did you know you don't have to bind at all? You should accept the fact that you have boobs! It's great and sexy and fun to have boobs and you shouldn't want to bind because that's letting society tell you what to do! Get some better self esteem!! Binding isn't everything! You should just embrace how hot and sexy your boobs are as a power move. There are lots of trans people who don't bind, and they aren't disabled! Being disabled has nothing to do with whether you bind or not. Choosing not to bind because you enjoy having boobs is the exact same thing as being physically incapable of binding despite how much you hate having boobs! I know because I think having boobs is sexy and hot and clearly every trans person wants people to think their boobs are hot!!!! I don't think disability has anything to do with whether you bind or not.
Disabled trans people who do not want to have boobs and are openly aroace and do not want anyone to find them attractive in any way:

Well.
I'm gonna be honest and say that I don't use tumblr much outside of following specific artists, but it is highly disappointing to see such gross behavior by the tumblr staff who flagrantly throw out suspensions to anyone who speaks out against their ignorance and tolerance for hate.

Meet The Author('s Gender Identities)
Tumblr media
I used dear sweet Princess Pink for this, heehoo!
So this Pride Month I figured it wouldn't hurt to talk about my identities. I'll admit I've been very nervous to do this, not a lot of people know about Xenogenders and will look on them as "fake identities", but I figured if I try to offer descriptions like I did for the LMK crew's pride headcanons I can at least clear things up for those not in the know! :3 TRANS NON-BINARY (bottom right): This one's for people who are transgender and non-binary! Me personally I use it for the fact that my non-binary identity is heavily tied into my being transgender, so much so that I'm more trans-nonbinary than transmasc or transfem. MULTIGENDER (bottom left): Identity for people who identify as multiple genders at once! I only have two for now, but who knows? I might discover more down the line! Now on to the Xenogenders, but first an explanation on just what Xenogenders are. If the article confused you, I'll do my best to explain: Gender is a spectrum, and a very wide one. Sometimes the identities we have can't be described with the identities we have, and so Xenogenders here help find what best describes our gender experiences! They can be aesthetics and concepts combined with something that feels right on the gender level. Largely these are used by Neurodivergent people (ADHD here, woop!!) who have a harder time expressing their gender experiences. PRINCESSGENDER (top right): An aesthetigender that deals with the aesthetic of being a princess. I was raised surrounded by pink princess-y things, so the princessgender identity is really dear to me. The aesthetic this would be tied to is princesscore. That, I think, is the best way to describe aesthetigenders: something that speaks to you so much if feels right on a gender identity level, it best expresses your gender experience. SYLVGENDER (top left): Luckily for me I found the post where this came from! As the post says, this gender is tied to the Pokemon Sylveon, but more expressly the gender-deep feelings of nature, kindness and friendship, feminine expression, purity and wholesomeness, gender non-conformity, cuteness and love, and magic! All of those tied together in to one dear, wonderful gender identity :3 This might not answer your questions, but I did find this really accepting and informative subreddit that helped me not only begin learning everything but also was kind enough to review the Xenogenders I wanted to identify as to make sure they weren't made by a troll or someone equally disingenuous. I only ask that you guys respect my identities and my pronouns. This is the link to my pronouns page, and I will be asking everyone that you call me by my preferred pronouns, no matter your thoughts you should not ever misgender someone. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and wonderful!!!! (I was honestly really nervous about coming out to you guys shgjdkfhg)

Hi hopefully I dont word this wrong :') Do you have a compilation of definitions of some of the newer words youve been using? Like Athiktomisics, Transmisia, Etc. I know ive seen when you made the posts but I cant find them cause tumblr is tumblr :') I think transmisia is just transphobia but reworded since its not a phobia but for some of the others im a bit lost on.
Thank you for asking, you didn't word this rudely at all! Thank you for being willing to learn!
Transmisia
Transmisia is indeed ""transphobia" but minus the "-phobia" suffix, because hating trans people isn't an anxiety disorder like phobias are, and people who do have phobias get treated horribly because people think it means they're bigots when they're not.
The -misia suffix comes from the word "misos" for "hatred", which is also where the word misogyny comes from! Miso-hatred, gyn-women. Misogyny = hatred of women.
_____
Athiktomisia (link to coining post)
Athiktomisia is bigotry towards people who are touch averse, with athikto translating to, roughly, untouchable or thereabouts, and the -misia suffix like above indicating hatred. Athikto+misia = hatred of those who are untouchable.
_____
Solitaremit, soliteremity, etcetera (link to coining post)
Solitaremit is a specific form of touch aversion where the person is touch averse, and also does not get ""touch starved"" or have any desire for touch at all, specifically created because many touch averse people who do not get touch starved were being alienated even in touch averse spaces, because desiring touch and being touch starved was still behind held up as normal and universal.
Solitaremity is...uh, the state of being solitaremit. Example sentence: Most people, even those who are otherwise touch averse, don't even know that solitaremity exists.
Solitaremity was created specifically to be a unique word that is brand new, and thus (meant to be) easy to search for and find, combining the words "solitary" and "hermit" for maximum emphasis.
_____
Solitaremisia
Solitaremisia is, again, the -misia suffix, combined with solitaremit to specify hatred against people who are touch averse who specifically do not desire touch in any way, even with touch starvation. Which is unfortunately a common attitude even in other touch averse people :|
_____
Gregariable
Gregariable will probably be used at some point, it was created as the counterpart to solitaremit, it means someone who desires touch and gets touch starved, whether or not they're also touch-averse. Aka, 99.99% of people are gregariable. It combines the words "gregarious" and "sociable" to create a unique word so that it would be easy to search for.
_____
Aroacemisia
Aroacemisia is bigotry against aroace people in particular, again with the -misia suffix to indicate hatred.
Amisia, acemisia, and aromisia are hatred towards aspec people in general, hatred towards asexual people, and hatred towards aro people.
_____
Exorsexism
Exorsexism is the specific hatred of nonbinary and genderqueer people, which is separate from, but sometimes a part of, transmisia.
Murderbot is nonbinary, so any transmisia it faces is inherently exorsexist.
_____
It its antagonism
it its antagonism refers to hatred targeted specifically at people who use it/its pronouns, usually always combined with exorsexism. It its antagonism is a form of neopronomisia.
_____
Neopronomisia
Neopronomisia is hatred of pronouns other than she/her or he/him. This includes but is not limited to pronouns like it/its, te/ter, and they/them.
_____
Let me know if you need any more defined!

This is a poll, only for people identify as trans and/or nonbinary.
Question: Trans and Nonbinary people only: Do you think that transmisia or exorsexism, including misgendering, from other trans or nonbinary people is less hurtful than when cis people do it?
Options:
1: Yes it's less bad, because they're trans/nonbinary.
2: Yes it's less bad, TANBP are incapable of being bigots.
3: No, it's just as bad as when cis people do it.
4: No, it's worse than when cis people do it, because TANBP should know better
5: It's the same whether the bigot is cis, or trans or nonbinary
Edit, to clarify for those confused: Transmisia is a synonym for transphobia, but with the suffix -misia, meaning hatred, rather than -phobia, meaning fear, because people with actual phobias aren't bigots, and now people demonize and attack them because they think of phobias as only a form of bigotry, not an anxiety disorder.
Exorsexism is bigotry against people whose genders are not 100% male or female. Exorsexism targets and affects nonbinary people, genderqueer people, and other specific non-white western binary genders.
If you click a wrong button by mistake, let me know in tags / replies / ask and I'll tally your vote with the correct option at the end.

Tumblr media
[ID: A six panel comic titled, "Using Neopronouns…"
The first panel shows a cis person talking to a long line of trans people who continue off screen, who are each wearing a pronoun pin -- "he/him", "she/her", "they/them" and "ze/hir", and have the trans pride flag over their heads, with stripes of blue, pink, white, pink, and blue.
The cis person says, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The second panel shows the trans people who use "he/him" and "she/her" pronouns looking at the rest of the line, which consists of they/them, ze/hir, star/stars, and it/its, and saying, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The third panel shows the they/them user now talking to the ze/hir, star/stars, and it/its users, and is saying, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The fourth panel shows the ze/hir user saying "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.". to the star/stars and it/its users.
The fifth panel shows the star/stars user saying to the it/its user, "Your pronouns make me uncomfortable, so I'm going to misgender you.".
The last panel shows the it/its user standing alone, saying nothing but "sigh".
End ID.]
The transmisia, exorsexism, and neopronomisia are coming from inside the house.
To quote Leslie Feinberg:
"We can never throw enough people overboard to win approval from our enemies.”
(Transgender Warriors: making history from Joan of Arc to Dennis Rodman)
Ask yourself: "Am I literally repeating the exact same bigotry that cis people subject me to?" And if the answer is yes, cut it the fuck out.
