hey idk which anxious pre-t babe needs to hear this but i didn't get to when i was younger so. testosterone will not make you ugly. it won't make you a horrible person. it won't 'mutilate' or ruin your body. if you want to go on testosterone then literally all that happens is it makes you really fucking hot and REALLY fucking happy.

the transmasc transitioning experience is really just being told again and again that you’re making yourself gross. which there is a big narrative surrounding all transitioning no matter which side that you’re going to end up “undesirable” i think there’s a lot of hate surrounding trans masculine transition that surrounds becoming a gross man.

really it’s enough of a mental challenge going from fem presentation where any body hair is immediately seen as disgusting to trying to become comfortable with yourself in masculine transition with your body hair. even facial hair which is something that is a big part of masculine transition and something a lot of trans masc people may look forward to can still bring shame and guilt especially around how people will perceive you with that very masculine presentation.

honestly in my personal experiences with medical transition, the amount of negative comments i’ve gotten on body hair and facial hair from close people in my life can be disheartening and really does push on that “gross man” mentality, i transitioned for those traits. i transitioned to be a big hairy guy with a nice beard. and people thinking that’s gross or whatever shouldn’t take the fun and euphoria out of transitioning. but it does sometimes and that sucks

remember that’s it’s okay to be big and hairy and masculine! it’s beautiful too!!!

#This is a joke but seriously you guys are weird as fuck for thinking a 'guy' who hangs out with a lot of trans women eventually becoming #one herself is some evidence of being 'turned' instead of the simpler and more reasonable explanation that the reason that #she hung out with mostly trans girls and was ok with them talking about her becoming a girl jokingly OR serious is probably just that #she already wanted to be a girl and the trans girls she hung out with helped her become more comfortable with that idea and #gave her the tools and confidence to pursue that. There is no prime directive because closeted trans people are not fucking aliens who #have nooo idea what's going on with themselves and should be isolated from people who could help them figure themselves out #and support them through that realization and their transition. I think it’s very important, especially these next few days, to be extra vocal about transmisogyny on this site given the CEO’s recent actions. In my opinion sharing a transition timeline is the best way for you to show that you’re not afraid of them and that you’re worth celebrating.

I don’t care if you just started, I don’t care if you think you look good. Share your before and after - and then share the ones you come across (tag me and I’ll share you with what little reach I have). Flood this shitty website with our faces so they can’t pretend we don’t exist and prove that we matter.

Update: I realize sharing selfies online isn’t for everyone. So don’t feel pressured to show your face. Talk about your transition though, share your story, draw it, make a song about it, share whatever you’re comfortable sharing but be vocal. I love you all so much ♥︎
