Tina Belcher 🍔 This is my redesign of Tina with my head cannons. - Tina is trans M-F (in the original Bob’s Burgers Tina was the eldest son named Daniel) who inherited her dad’s thick body hair, after a while she got sick of constantly shaving/waxing her body & started to embrace it but will trim to keep it tidy.

-Tina came out as polyamorous after she started dating Jimmy Jr & they added Tammy & Zeke to the relationship - her family support her even though all but Gene find it confusing , Gene thinks it’s wonderful because Tina has so much love to give. Tammy & Tina’s relationship is a bit awkward because of how much the two of them still clash but will still defend each other if anyone causes any issues.

-At school Tina studies creative writing & created stories in her notebooks however she doesn’t like to share them till she thinks they’re perfect, unfortunately for her Louise & Gene will take them out the room & read them to the family.

-As well as studying Tina is now the 2nd waitress in the family business, she also got her dad to agree students could have tables once a week to study or take part in group activities with 10% off orders - which has worked out pretty well.

Why Gene Belcher is written Profoundly Well

God, I could write a whole essay about how amazingly Bob’s Burgers tackles queer characters, but let’s focus on one queer character for now: Gene Belcher

One of the biggest things I’ve noticed about Bob’s Burgers since I’ve started watching again is how, as a queer character, Gene is written amazingly well. He may be gay, he may be trans, he may be nonbinary, but this kid is not straight. (There are 30-min video compilations to prove this.)

And I am incredibly comfortable with the ambiguity that this show holds for that. I love it. He could never be revealed to be anything, and he’s still a complete and awesome character.

It allows the writers to let Gene just explore who he is, who he might want to be, without that being (too much) the butt of the joke. What’s more is I love how Linda and Bob are written as Gene’s parents. They clearly know who their kid is and what to expect from his behavior, attitudes, and wardrobe choices.

One of my favorite Linda moments has to be when Gene has the flu, and he’s stuck in the bathroom. When we see him, he has blue eyeshadow on, and Linda casually says “Ooh, love the eyeshadow!” It may be small, but oh I loved that line.

I love that this fictional child is being nurtured to love himself, not just by his parents, but by his siblings as well.

“Time to focus on your good daughter! Gene!”

“I’m pretty!”

Not only does Gene exemplify a queer kid just being a kid, but it shows Bob and Linda as being great examples in parenting on all fronts, but mostly just by letting Gene be himself.

(And that’s not even mentioning Tina’s tendency towards polyamory…)

my personal thoughts on the Belcher kids futures are like. louise could get married someday (maybe to rudy or maybe not) but i dont think she'd ever want to have kids. she doesn't seem to like kids or be very maternal (apparently she's already told linda that she DOESNT want kids and saying that "she might change her mind when she's older" just seems shitty) and honestly the idea of pregnancy sounds like it would be terrifying to her. she doesn't want to grow a whole ass baby in her body wtf

tina is poly but i could see her settling down w/ one guy if he was really affectionate and open with her. they could have kids but definitely not until tina is in her 30s (unless there was like..... an accident or something) she'd probably want multiple kids so they grow up with siblings. also she could definitely raise kids in a polycule type situation like bob and linda with teddy FHDMDJSKSH

gene i could see having kids because he seems to be good at interacting with younger kids?? but i could also see him becoming like a teacher or something instead. he'd want to have a whole music career before he settles down either way. if he's gay or trans i dont know about BIOLOGICAL kids but maybe he'd become a foster parent or something :)
