Another Monday Cleaning Post. This week are some of my horses from when I was in grade school. They all were gently scrubbed with oxyclean/dawn dish soap and a toothbrush, then cleaned with a Magic eraser, and nailpolish remover (where applicable). I also cleaned their hair with dawn dish soap, conditioned it and either curled or straitened it. It’s not perfect, but they’re cleaner than they were before and are now being stored in a safe plastic box (instead of cardboard) with lots of silica packets and wrapped in tissue paper. And of course I forgot to take before pictures.

The top two had a lot of paint scratches on them, and lots of messy little braids and ribbons in their tails (a common theme with all my childhood horses). I left the horse on the right‘s tail kinky, but straightened the others. The next two were also off brand horses, they were also not my favorite, so they did not get played with all that often (they are both being resold). The next two are felted and the one on the left is one of my oldest horses that I owned. He was so filthy that you couldn’t see the white on his legs and his sparse tail was a big knot. Both his eyes are still missing, but he’ll be okay. His son is also much cleaner than before and his tail has also been combed out.

The next two ladies are a Barbie Walking Sweety Pony (technically my sister’s, and she was always the gossip of the pony group) and a Grand Champion Slipstream (Mommy Horse). Sweety Pony can still kiss and has her tail detangled. Mommy Horse is still looking a bit haggard but that‘s as close as I could get to her scalp with a straight iron and even using boiling water. Oh well, she looks like motherhood is getting to her. Her foal was also cleaned but has a lot more paint worn off of his face (clearly he was a favorite of mini-me).

The last one is a Barbie Walking Beauty Horse and was the “leader of all of my horses“ due to her immense size. She also starred in several cross-overs as she not only came out to play when I played with ponies, but also when we played with Barbies. She has a lot of paint wear, but otherwise not in horrible condition and could still make noises.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered a harness and toy for myself since im living away from family for the first time. Got this combo from RodeoH bc ive ordered all my packing underwear from there and theyve been very good about everything so far!

My sister‘s and my childhood G2 My Little Ponies that I cleaned up back in September. They’re not perfect yet (I could have curled their hair a bit better), and several still have some staining and still need their eye gems replaced, but at least they’re clean, detangled, and now stored in a better place.

Clever Clover was my first My Little Pony ever and usually my go-to when I played, Petal Blossom was my sister‘s go to, Sugar Belle was also my sister’s and her nose magnet is starting to show through its paint.

Berry Bright was also in fair shape, but my sister’s Tipsy Tulip was awful, and had the most hair plugs missing of the bunch. So much of her hair was stuck in and around her neck. I managed to get most of it out, but there are still a few stragglers in there.

Sky Shimmer is missing one of her green eye gems, and has some staining on her face that I will get with hydrogen peroxide this summer. Dainty Dove is looking the cleanest she has in ages (thank you magic eraser). Pretty Parlor Ivy was played with the second most after my Clever Clover and was often argued over who would get to play with her when my sister and I played. She also has some red stains on her body that I will hopefully remove this summer. The Ivy next to her has no staining, but is missing both of her eye gems.

Cupcake and Morning Glory were both my sister’s and were in pretty good condition. My sister’s Sundance is missing one of her eye gems and this is the calmest Moon Shadow’s hair has been in a long time.
