Thatcher: Would be crying silent tears towards the end. He'd be looking back on his life and wouldn't feel too satisfied with it, feeling he wasted 17 years running. Would be thinking about how so many citizens in Mandela will be forgotten because theres hardly anyone left to remember. On the flip side, the experience might finally make him realize he needs to move on. Will try to live out Ruth's memory

Dave: Y'all remember Wendigoon listening to the album, and how you could watch his usually cheery personality slowing peeling away the longer he listened? Same difference. Might crack a couple of jokes through out, but would accept that the album displays the terrifying reality of a very common illness. He'd be going through the same existential crisis as Thatcher, realizing so many people will be forgotten because so many are dead/dying

Ruth: Like Thatcher and Dave, relating the album to their painful reality of people dying at every turn, countless people forgotten and (literally) a thousand more on their way. Forgetting more and more what the past/pre-invasion was like as you succumb to the new reality. Etc. (In a world where she's already heard about it, I'd like to think she'd get playfully competitive with Thatcher to see which one of them would last the longest, but as the music progresses, finishing the album wouldn't be as worth it).

Adam: Would get bored though out, very little effect on him. Though in hindsight, the album might be a good model of him losing his humanity (though he doesn't know that yet). TBH, he'd be the one introducing it to others first.

Jonah: Would get bored, can't finish it in one sitting. But curiosity would make him. Making jokes to lighten the mood throughout, but will be crying by the end.

Eve: Little reaction. Takes breaks throughout and comes back due to curiosity. Would also be crying silent tears towards the end.

Sarah: Wouldn't finish it. You cannot force her to. She's clocking out by stage 3-4

Mark: Wouldn't be able to finsih it, he'd have a panic attack/mental breakdown/etc during it and will quit. Absolutely HATES stage 5

Anyway, hehe, I love your work! And I'm tormented by the question, how do you get inspiration for fics? Honestly, I'm sure it must be difficult to do this, right? Maybe someone asked you these questions, but as far as I know, my friends spend more than 1-2 months to write such voluminous works.

In theory, initially I thought for a long time what to write, and also thought about whether it would accidentally become offensive to you if I write something incorrectly. Yes, I've been nervous for too long about not sending letters of admiration often. Sorry if this sounded weird, my translator and my english is just awful☠️☠️.

What pushes me to write is by being delulu /hj — I'm always in my head no matter where I go and what I do (yes, that includes when I'm in lectures at my university). I can get inspiration from anything.

Writing does take time and patience. It depends on what you want to write and what your goal is for whatever it is that you write. I had two professors who are published authors and they've been nothing but supportive. One professor from my spring quarter said to get off your phone and take in your surroundings and actually look around (maybe you can get inspiration from what you see around you). She has had her friends (who are also writers, novelists, poets, etc.) come to the university as a guest lecture and talk about their books, how they became a published author, etc.

One advice that stuck to me the most (from my professor's friend/the guest lecturer) is to write either at night or really early in the morning before people are awake. It's easier to write that way because you have less distraction.

I also set a word goal for myself to write for the day— if I'm writing a long fic, my word goal for the day would be 1k (1,000) words a day whereas my word goal for mini-fics is about 500 words a day. Once I reach that goal, I'm done writing for the day. I could go over my word goal, but that would make me want to push my word goal from 1k to 1.1k, 1.2k, etc.

Write whatever you like. It's your story and you're the creator of it— don't let people be the controller, you are the writer. The reader isn't the writer and they shouldn't be the ones to determine how you should write.

I mean. TBF. I thought I was safe when I went to bed too. Fun fact, the only reason I even wrote the first snippet is because my bed shares a wall with the living room TV and someone turned the volume to 100, turned on SAW, and left. So I was awoken rather rudely at like, 12-1 in the morning and in my frustrated awakeness I decided to torment all of us.

“This doesn’t seem like a great idea,” Mumbo said, looking at the machine in front of him. The Watcher hung, suspended by his wrists and ankles, between some sort of monstrosity Iskall designed. The other man wasn’t even concerned by it, fiddling with his eye.

“It’ll be fine. There’s an IV in his right wrist keeping him unconscious and if he wakes up those cuffs are the same ones I gave…the Evoker,” Iskall said after a moment’s hesitation.

“Right…” Mumbo replied, looking up at the Watcher hanging limply on the wall. What a sight this made, sort of heedy in its own way. A part of Mumbo understood why Villains did what they did. As awful as it felt in his gut, holding power over someone was like being drugged.

They both turned their heads as Scar came into the room, still in his Evoker suit and helmet. Still hiding his identity. Something about that felt wrong to Mumbo; sure, they hadn’t revealed the Watcher’s face, but they knew he was Cuteguy. It felt like know a lot of information while actually knowing very little.

“Has he woken up?” Scar – the Evoker, Mumbo needed to remember to use his name, asked. Iskall shook his head and turned back to the panel to show the Evoker all of his vital signs.

“He’ll probably sleep for a long time,” Iskall said. “I don’t do halfway with my work.”

They can’t see Scar’s face, partially because of the helmet and partially because he’s looking up at the Watcher.  “Good,” he said. It doesn’t sound good. “Bring him down here.”

The contraption the Watcher is suspended between moved. It clanked and rotated and then his suspended form was only a foot away from the Evoker, if that. Mumbo and Iskall watched, silent, as the Evoker reached up, hand ghosting past the veil and blindfold. It stopped there, hovering as time stopped with it. There’s a hard exhale and then the Evoker’s hand moved again, bypassing the blindfold to tilt the Watcher’s head and get a better look at his hairline scar.
