we've talked about jealous eddie, and pining eddie, and afraid-he's-actually-a-homophobe eddie, but i think there's another element we need to explore and that's supportive eddie. because here's eddie diaz having just found out that the reason his best friend has been so weird lately is that he's going through this major revelation and it's all new and he's so excited and a little nervous, and buck needs his best friend to have his back as he explores these new feelings.
and eddie genuinely likes tommy, he was the one who wanted them to get on well! so even if it makes his chest tighten to see them brushing shoulders and holding hands and kissing he absolutely does not have time to unpack that feeling especially if it could in any way derail this thing buck is going through.
and eddie knows buck like no one else, he knows how buck's struggled with feeling rejected and like he's never anyone's first choice. but here's tommy, and he's cool and nice and adventurous and loyal and buck gets all giggly at the prospect of being with him, and that's exactly the kind of relationship that buck deserves to have, one that makes him feel seen and chosen, and this isn't like with his past girlfriends where eddie could be snide and tease and try to help him see how wrong of a fit they are for him, that kind of behavior could really hurt buck here, so eddie is determined that he is not going to ruin this for buck, no matter what, because this isn't about eddie and the weird flutter he gets when he thinks of another man with buck and what it must be like to get to hold him and kiss him.

Shared Kisses
for @steddie-week I’m behind on it but I couldn’t resist day 3, and it’s a little late because I fell asleep while writing it, that's how sleep deprived I am haha. prompt: first kiss
“Okay, okay! It's my turn now. Sir Steven, Lady Birdie, tell me, who was your first kiss?” Eddie giggles from his spot on the carpet. He smells like stale menthols and pine; Steve can’t get enough of it. He has to resist from leaning his head into Eddie and taking a breath of him.
Steve is starting to believe he needs his head checked. Again. Wanting to smell one of his friend's necks isn't normal.
Steve is also starting to realize that maybe that is because he wants to be more than friends. God, he is such a loser sometimes.
“Oh, this is unfair! You know the rules state that we can’t ask it back now. Boooo.” Robin chants from her place on the couch, where she hangs upside down. Steve is for once glad they aren’t playing a drinking game; he is sure Robin would have vomited by now otherwise.
“I still think this a weird game to be playing.” Steve dodges the question and nudges Eddie with his knee.
“C’mon Harrington, questions is an absolute solid getting-to-know-you game.” Eddie nudged his knee back.
“Dude we’ve been friends for six months.”
“Yes but there are so many layers I have yet to peel.”
Robin grunts from her upside-down position, Steve can tell all the blood has finally rushed to her head, and she tumbles onto the ground next to them. “Gotta agree with Metal Man here, Steve-o. I’ve known you even longer, and I still don’t know everything. And we are practically connected.
Steve blows air from his lips, “So this is just a ploy to expose all my secrets.”
Steve can tell that Robin, who might as well share a soul with him at this point, can sense how uncomfortable he is beginning to feel. Her teasing softens for a moment. “What if I went first, yeah?”
Steve pauses, “Yeah okay.”
“You got to promise not to make fun of me.”
“Of course, Robs.”
“I make no such promises.” Eddie interrupts but ultimately cuts the tension in the room. Steve kind of feels like it is on purpose, by the way his eyes skim Steve carefully, and the way Robin lets out a loud snort.
“Wasn’t talking to you doofus. I don’t actually respect your opinion of me.”
“Hey!” Eddie protests, but they all know he isn’t really offended.
Robin chuckles lightly, but continues. “It was in middle school, at one of my first girl-boy parties; gross, right? I hate that we called it those. Anyway. They decide to play spin the bottle, and I feel pressure because my only friend at the time is Barb, and she didn’t come and Colleen Walsh is doing it, and she—well, she’s the prettiest, most popular girl in school at the time and I’d be an idiot not to follow along. So we’re playing Spin the Bottle, right? And rounds go by, and it doesn’t land on me, and I’m grateful but Colleen notices. She goads me on to do it, take a spin since it isn’t fair I haven’t kissed anyone. So, wanting to get over being the center of attention, I reach over and spin it, and it lands on—“
“Wait.” Steve stops Robin, realizing she is about to out herself to Eddie on Steve’s behalf. He doesn’t want her to do that but on anything but her own terms. “Are you sure about this, Robs?”
Robin throws her head back and laughs, “Yea, I’m sure dingus. No need to worry. Anyway, you’ll never believe who it lands on.”
Eddie wiggles his eyebrows, “C’mon buck don’t leave us hanging.”
“Tommy Hagan.”
Eddie and Steve both start choking on air while Steve screams, “What!?!”
Eddie collapses on the ground with a dramatic groan, covering his face with his hands and mumbling, “why cruel world?” Robin giggles at his antics.
“You’re telling me it wasn’t….?” Steve trails off, hoping Robin gets the hint.
“That it wasn’t a girl? No dingus, just because I’m a lesbian doesn’t mean all my experiences are with women. Besides, I was 12; I didn’t realize staring at Colleen’s boobs wasn’t jealousy.”
“Oh, thank god, you know; I thought I was going to have to break the news to you that your gayer than the men’s locker room after a winning game,” Eddie mumbles behind his hands still on the ground.
“Only you would make a sports reference in relation to gayness, Eds. Also, wait, you knew she was lesbian? How did you know? Why are you freaking out then?” Steve rapid fires questions.
Still covered with his hands, “Like seeks like, Harrington. It’s like a sixth sense.”
Steve’s mouth goes dry, “You’re gay?” He says hopefully.
Eddie finally removes his hands from his face but doesn’t sit up. “Yea, Stevie, thought you knew, honestly. Not like it’s a secret, all of Hawkins talks about it.”
“I try not to listen to the rumor mill.”
A soft smile graces Eddie’s face, “One of the many things I love about you sweetheart.”
Steve tries not to blush, but ultimately fails. “Still doesn’t explain why you’re freaking out about Tommy. Sure, he sucks, but like I reacted that way cause I was friends with him at some point. What’s you’re excuse?”
Finally Eddie sits up with a groan. “Okay, promise not to laugh or freak out?”
Robin and Steve both nod and mumble a little “yea of course”.
Eddie rubs a hand down his face, “Okay, I freaked out because even though it’s not my turn to answer and I don’t have to, well—it’s because. Okay, I’m stalling; it’s because Tommy Hagan was also my first kiss. When I was 15, under the bleachers.”
Robin and Steve are both silent, Eddie looks at them expectantly. “Are you guys going to say anything?”
Robin speaks up first, “I think this is the closest we can get to not freaking out.”
“I think I would prefer that over the freaky twin silence.”
Steve still stays quiet while Robin proceeds to react, “Oh my god Munson! This is the funniest and freakiest thing ever. And not in a freak way you like! This is magnificent, oh my god….” Robin continues to cackle and make fun of Eddie, but Steve tunes it out. He can feel all the blood rush to his ears, blocking out all the sound from the room. Tommy. Tommy. He has kissed both of his best friends, one of which he wants to kiss himself. That just seems unfair to Steve. It hurts Steve, and he doesn’t know why. Actually, he knows precisely why.
“My first kiss was when I was 13,” Steve says abruptly, not making eye contact. The both of them stop their bickering and turn to Steve. They stay silent, as if they know Steve needs it to get through it. He is thankful for them both.
“I was 13, and my parents weren’t home. It had become the usual at this point, but I was sad because it was my birthday, and this was the first birthday they didn’t even send a card. And Tommy decided to come over to cheer me up; this was back, I guess, when he still cared too. And we didn’t do much; I didn’t like to make a big fuss about my birthday even then, but it was a nice night out just before the break of summer. So we decided to stargaze on the roof. And I don’t know how it happened, but one second we’re trying to find the Little Dipper, and the next, Tommy is kissing me. It was nice, honestly. To have someone you care about show you affection. And when he pulled away, I smiled at him, but he just stared. And then—“ Steve swallows thickly before looking up at Eddie and Robin, who both look at him with rapt attention.
“Then his face turns angry, and he punches me. He punches me so hard that I almost fall off the roof. He tells me not to be a queer, and if I told anyone, who would tell everyone what I was. And it seemed unfair, right? Because he kissed me, I only smiled. I haven’t kissed a boy since.”
Suddenly there is an arm around his shoulder, “Stevie….” Eddie tucks Steve’s head into the crook of his neck, and Steve begins to sob.
Robin quietly gets up, “I’m going to make us some tea.” Steve knows she can sense that he needs a moment with Eddie. Steve loves her more than life.
“I’m sorry this is stupid. I don’t even know why I’m crying.”
Eddie rubs soft circles on his back, “It’s not stupid, honey. He hurt you in more ways than one, and traumatized you from exploring yourself. You have every right to be upset. Thank you for telling us. You didn’t—you didn’t have to. You could have lied, or told us your first kiss with a girl.—“
“Colleen Walsh.” Steve interrupts into Eddie’s neck.
Eddie barks out a laugh, “Of course it was. Anyway, Steve, thank you for sharing. I’m glad you feel safe with us.”
Steve’s tears are no longer. “I always feel safe with you, Eds.” And the Steve finally does the thing he’s been wanting to do all night. He takes a big sniff of Eddie. Steve doesn’t care if it’s weird because he settles a sort of calm in him.
Eddie grips his waist tight, and puts a finger under Steve’s chin, pulling his face close to his own. “Yea, I do? Does that mean you also trust me?”
Steve can feel Eddie’s breath on his lips. He knows it’s probably not good how quickly his mood has changed, but he can’t find it in himself to care. The air between them is electric, and intense. Steve can feel it make his whole body come alive. “Of course I do.”
Eddie leans even closer, “Good. Because I think it’s a damn shame a pretty boy like you hasn’t kissed another boy since.” Then Eddie presses their lips together.
Steve isn’t sure if someone were to ask what his first kiss with Eddie was like if he would be able to answer. It’s indescribable; it’s perfect. But if he is to try, it would be this, soft, slow, deep, and oh so very good. Steve can feel the heat from Eddie’s lips pulsing into his own. Eddie’s hands' grip Steve’s face, angling him deeper as he slides his tongue into his mouth. Steve pulls him closer by his t-shirt. Going crazy off the taste of salt and chocolate that now swipes his tongue.
They both pull back a little breathlessly, hands still gripping each other. They lean their foreheads together, and Steve smiles. He smiles so big his face hurts. And Eddie does the most thing in return,
He smiles back.
The moment is broken, though, when Robin enters the room again with a bowl of popcorn and a loud “Oh thank god, I was sick of the pining. From both of you.”
Eddie sputters while Steve just laughs at her. “I thought you were making tea Birdie?”
Robin sits down next to them again, “Too much work and I was snacky.”
Steve throws popcorn at her head but isn’t upset at all. He leans his head on Eddie’s shoulder, and Eddie kisses the top of Steve’s head.
Robin smiles fondly at them. Then her face scrunches up in pain, “Wait, all of our first kisses was Tommy Hagan?”
“Yep.”
“Unfortunately so.”
“God I do not want to give that twerp any more credit in life than I have to. Why are we all like this?”
Steve giggles while Eddie shrugs.
Robin can’t keep a straight face anymore and falls into laughter. “Wait, does this mean we are all bounded by this? I completely unrelated, non-upside down experience?”
Eddie speaks up before Steve, “I believe so, Lady Buckley. A trauma outside of other worlds binds us. We have been bound since before the slain of Vecna.”
Robin shrieks, “Awee, guys! We were always meant to meet then.”
Then Robin tackles the both of them to the ground in a bear hug. Steve’s not even mad that she’s in the middle of Eddie and him.
Because this, right here, is all the love he’ll ever need.
***
I'm behind on steddie week, but I want to throw my hat in the ring. Have a written a first kiss thing before? Yes I have. But I can’t resist. Thank for the read, love this community so much.

Tommy squeezes Buck’s thigh and looks at him very intently. “I’m going to suggest something, and if you have any doubts at all, I want you to tell me no. Okay?”
“Uh, okay?” What sort of suggestions and what could Buck possibly doubt?
Tommy glances at the vacated seat across from them and in the direction of the bathrooms before looking back to Buck. He looks so cautious and careful. Like the night they first kissed. “If you wanted to, if you’re open to it, we could… make him an offer.”
Buck blinks. “An offer?”
“To spend the night with us.”
To— oh god. Any god. Every god. All the gods. “Like— you mean. Y-you mean?”
“Doesn’t have to be like that,” Tommy shakes his head. “It could be. But not if you’d worry about being left out or about you and me or how I feel about you. Okay? I wouldn’t want you to feel insecure or jealous. You’re important to me and I don’t want you to doubt that. I just— I think having him there, however we have him with us, might make you feel better. Might make him feel better, too.”
It might. It might make Buck feel better. It probably would. Yeah. Definitely. Because the idea of Eddie going home alone tonight to an empty house— because Buck knows Chris is staying with one of his friends tonight— the idea of Eddie being alone with too many tormented, angry, wound up thoughts, Buck absolutely hates that.
They could invite Eddie back with them.
They could invite Eddie back with them.
Except— “Eddie’s not— I-I mean. Eddie is— he’s straight.”
Tommy snorts a laugh and smiles at Buck like Buck is somehow being dumb. “Eddie’s not straight.”
Buck does nothing but turn into a human turning signal, blinking, blinking, endlessly blinking. “Uh, yeah he is?” It doesn’t sound sure. It should because— “Did he tell you something? Did he come out to you? Did something happen? Why would he tell you and not me?”
Tommy’s eyes widen slightly and he does that calming rubbing thing on Buck’s thigh again. “Baby, he didn’t say anything to me. He didn’t have to. And maybe I’m wrong? But I really doubt it.”
“But,” Buck says and it can’t be true. It’s not true. Buck knows Eddie. If Buck knows nothing else, he knows Eddie. “He had a wife. And two girlfriends. Nothing else.”
Tommy raises his eyebrow and gives him a strange look. “And you’d only ever been with women before I kissed you. How is it different?”
Because. It is? Eddie isn’t— he can’t be.
Could he be?
Is Eddie into men? Could that be something that’s been missing for him, too? Could someone kiss him and turn his whole world into technicolor Land of Oz because he’s never considered his feelings might be legit attraction to men? Maybe he has all sorts of feelings but has never been able to fully understand what they are and what they mean? Maybe it is something Eddie needs, too?
Is Eddie into men? Is he into men? Is he?
Eddie returns and sits down across from them and looks like there are drops of water, probably cool water, on his face and neck. He picks up his phone that he’d left lying on the table and doesn’t even look up to acknowledge them.
He hasn’t actually looked at them all night. Not for more than a split second, accidental glancing at the sun sort of thing.
Holy shit. Maybe that’s the thing. Maybe Eddie is into men and didn’t know it before because why wouldn’t he be into Tommy?

hey who wants. some smut.
five times eddie nearly walks in on buck and tommy fucking, and the one time he absolutely does, aka, don't just stand there.
ch 1/3, 2.6k, explicit
we've got chapter one, which has part one:
Tommy found his voice. "He has a key to your loft?" he hissed under his breath.  Buck couldn't answer, because he had a gag in his mouth. He had a gag in his mouth, all four limbs bound, two fingers knuckle-deep in his ass, and Eddie was downstairs. "Buck?" Eddie called again, the sound of his keys hitting the island as loud as a gunshot. "What did you say, I couldn't hear ya."
and part two:
"Look at you," Tommy murmured, slipping his hand under Buck's shirt, palm hot against his stomach. "So responsive... Just the barest touch, and you're melting." "Don't know what you're talking about," Buck breathed, torn between sliding up to grind his ass on Tommy's cock and sliding down so he could feel those lips on more of his neck. "I am totally composed right now. I'm watching a movie." "You haven't pressed play yet, baby."  "You were busy complaining about our seating arrangement," he said, gasping as Tommy's fingertips dragged across his nipple. "Didn't want to interrupt you." "So is this you being courteous?" he teased, fingers pinching, rolling his nipple between calloused fingers until Buck was arching his back, mouth falling open and breathing ragged. "Or is this you being desperate for me, hm?"
heads up x2 @missmagooglie @comeon-intothemadhouse @aringofsalt @theotherbuckley

rewatching buck coming out to maddie and it really does not seem like she’s surprised he’s into men.
she’s surprised that it’s tommy who had him figure it out
“i just, didn’t think that’s where your interests would lie” keep in mind she heard buck rant to her about eddie and tommy’s new friendship. chim even helped tease him about his obvious jealousy.
“wh- it’s the same tommy? eddie’s friend?”
“i don’t think you’re a fraud. i just think maybe you’re not sure of your own feelings yet, and if there’s something you need to tell eddie, you will. just- in your own time”
buck literally came out to eddie in the next scene we saw of them, so there’s no way it could’ve been about that.
she’s not surprised about him being queer (we all know he is bisexual but currently he does not label himself so i am choosing to respect that for the time being!)
and also- maddie would absolutely Never say “i think you’re confused about your feelings” about her brother’s sexuality. she would absolutely never question him, especially because that isn’t her place and she knows that.
so what else could it be? we also know that oliver admitted buck still doesn’t know who or what he was jealous of last episode, just that he was feeling strongly about something.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday
Should I share this much of this fic?? Probably not. Am I going to anyway?? Absolutely. Have some jealous!Tommy fic. Previous installments here, here, and here.
It’s much later in the evening, as things are winding down, that Tommy notices it. Sees Eddie from the corner of his eye as he wanders up behind Buck, two bottles in hand that don't quite match the others floating around.
It's not surprising. He'd expected it from the moment he'd realized Buck had brought a six pack special for Eddie.
But what does take him by surprise is the way Eddie slips the bottle into Buck's hand without a word, Buck accepting it easily with that bashful little grin that Tommy had once thought belonged to him. In fact, Tommy thinks, maybe it's always belonged to Eddie, and he was only ever borrowing affection.
Buck doesn't look up at Eddie, doesn't seek his eyes, but he immediately tips the bottle to his lips, and his features settle into a sweet, open softness Tommy envies Eddie's ability to call forth.
Eddie doesn't leave Buck's side, either. Stands close behind him and lets his free hand fall to Buck's shoulder. Works his fingers into the muscle there in a way that makes Buck's eyelashes flutter. Tommy holds his breath, eyes unblinking as he stares at them in the near dark, only the glow from the dim yellow yard lights brightening their features. After a moment, Eddie leans down to whisper something to Buck, his words quiet and private, and he's so close Tommy’s not sure his lips don't brush the shell of Buck's ear. Buck huffs a laugh at whatever Eddie's said, eyes brightening and lips stretching up into a happy smile as he turns his head to Eddie, who hasn't moved an inch, and for a moment, Tommy thinks they're going to kiss. Thinks that Buck might actually close that breath of space between them when his gaze flutters down to Eddie's lips and his laugh dies in his throat.
There's a flash of fierce jealousy that gets all wrapped up in anger in his chest then. Because some part of him screams that Buck has to know. That Eddie has to know. That the two of them are intentionally deceiving him—that he's being used as some cheap thrill for these men who are so clearly wrapped up in one another that no one else could ever come close.
But he knows that’s not fair to them—that both of them are honest, if maybe a little clueless, and neither would actively seek to hurt him or one another.
So in the end, he tamps down the jealousy rolling in his gut and reaches out to take Buck's hand when he offers it, even if it is a stretch at the distance they're sitting, and he lets it go, he lets it go, he lets it go.
Even as he watches Eddie step around the other side of Buck and tuck his own chair so close that when he sits their knees knock and their shoulders brush.
Tagging (if you want!) @messyhairdiaz @spotsandsocks @shortsighted-owl @daffi-990 @eddiebabygirldiaz @reachingforaspark and anyone else who wants to participate.

Okay so people keep talking about Buck's coming out scene with Eddie, and I just want to talk about this part right here:
Buck: Is that weird?
Eddie: No. Absolutely not.
Because. Because! The look on Eddie's face. The tilt of his head, the steady eye contact and the immediate reassurance... Buck needed that. He's just come out. He's just done something brand new, out of his depth, and kind of terrifying. And no matter how well you know someone, there's always that fear in the back of your mind. That horrible little voice that whispers, what if they hate me for this?
And for someone like Buck, that voice doesn't just whisper, it screams. It's been screaming since he was a child. But Eddie. Eddie doesn't give it a second to get a word in.
Buck asks, "Is that weird?" And Eddie immediately and firmly replies, "No. Absolutely not." And then he follows it up with another reassurance, almost immediately:
"This doesn't change a thing between us."
Now I'm seeing a lot of people say that Buck looked disappointed at this, but I say he looked relieved. Because Eddie is his best friend. Eddie is the person whose opinions matter the most to Buck, even above the opinions of his sister. (Hell, I think the only person that Buck will be more concerned about coming out to will be Christopher.) But I think there was still a moment, a split second of doubt where Buck really thought that him coming out to Eddie would damage their friendship.
For Buck, one of the things he is most afraid of is being left behind. Being abandoned. Seeing the people he loves give up on him. Eddie knows this, he knows Buck. Whether you view it as romantic or not, Buck and Eddie do love each other. They're family. So having Eddie double down and say, "No, none of this is weird, and I'm not going anywhere, we're rock solid," is SO important. Buck isn't disappointed that nothing will change. He's relieved. He's free.
And Eddie responds in exactly the way Buck needs him to in that moment. Reassurance, some slight teasing, and encouragement for Buck to go after Tommy. To go after the guy he can't stop thinking about. He doesn't make it this big, heavy, burdensome thing. He doesn't get overly emotional or confrontational like some cishet people tend to do when their friends come out. Eddie has Buck's back with this as much as he does with everything else.
I think it's the best coming out scene we could've gotten with these two, and I'm beyond obsessed with it.

thank you for answering my asks!! I'm glad you're doing better & they weren't too much & you enjoy these!
and yeah the more I think about it the less I want like jealous Eddie & more confused Eddie? Like he looks so happy every time Buck & Tommy are like getting along so I'd love for him to be happy about it but maybe feel a little off? Like about Buck/Tommy dating. Like he's happy for them bc his new friend & best friend are dating & they're both so great & he gets to keep hanging out with them individually but together he's like ??? But thinking about it I don't think he'd get jealous I think he'd double down on being supportive?? Like he's so happy for Buck exploring this new part of himself & with someone like Tommy who's cool & nice & someone Eddie trusts and Tommy is dating Buck who Eddie loves so much so it's like of course he's happy for him too? So he tries to make sure he's not getting in the way of it & being supportive with both of them.
But! Tommy seemed happy to also see Eddie in the promo so I'm hoping since he also was like "yeah we are good as friends & it's okay for him to have more than one" that Tommy will continue to initiate/hang out with him. I hope if Buck is weird about the date it's just like panicking bc he wasn't maybe ready to tell Eddie? (Bc it's scary & new & his Eddie feelings are tied up in it even if he isn't aware of that but also!!! Buck feeling guilty bc he was all weird about their friendship & now is dating Tommy & like idk I kinda want him to panic like "I'm not trying to steal your new friend! I know I was a dick about it but I really like kissing him & want to keep doing so!" or something? Idk lol bc now it's like "well how do I explain this to Eddie after doing all of that??" it's kinda embarrassing like he's gonna go to Maddie & say "yeah so remember when I was all mad about Tommy? Um well now we're dating actually" I want to have all the love & support but also they never stop teasing him over being an absolute disaster about it) (I love him so much)
So yeah. I'm hopeful that going forward we'll leave the jealousy tension with Tommy behind bc I think you're right it would be boring and honestly Eddie seems like he'd be so happy but also again feel Weird but when he sees like Buck being all adorable & flustered & happy when Tommy does something cute or romantic & he's not mad or upset, he's just like idk kinda how with Ana things felt Weird but it took him a bit to figure out why bc he liked her well enough & she was beautiful & Chris loved her so like he was like why am I not happier about this? Why do I get a weird flutter in my chest or tightness in my stomach when Buck looks at Tommy like that? and just responds by like being extra supportive (and eventually having to talk to someone like "why do I feel weird about this? am I a bad friend? am I homophobic?" and it's like no you're sad bc you want to be kissing Buck!!!) so idk maybe it's too close to the jealousy but yeah I don't want it to create tension in that way. Also I'd love him to be able to talk to Tommy about it? Like Tommy clocks it and is like "is this weird for you?" & Eddie's like no no I'm happy for you two really (bc he is but also???) and just idk if that makes sense but basically I want Buddie to talk & be like we will be more open with each other & there's no weird tension with Tommy bc they've moved past that & he's like gets to be something in both their lives while also a catalyst for them getting together (lmao what if he was in their wedding party?? "Eddie Chris is already your best man,at least let me have Tommy as a groomsmen?" "Tommy & I are really more friends than you two are tho" "what? We're close tho, I have literally been inside of him" ". . ." ". . .yeah okay, but I get Chim then.") (is it crack yes but it makes me laugh) and I am just repeating myself over and over but yesssss the end
Okay, I will talk about it all but the idea of buddie having Buck's ex in the wedding party made me cackle oasokasasokasokas we love to paint Eddie as possessive but this would be so funny lolololol
Okay, I think Eddie will be aggressively supportive, like, overcompensating levels of supportive, buying bi flags for Buck supportive, especially with the whole Buck feeling left out thing, I think he would go intense about it, and not even fully realize it seems like he's compensating for something. But the thing here really is how they'll deal with Tommy and Eddie with it all, because Eddie like Tommy, so I don't see him reacting all that extremely the way he did with Taylor for instance, but at the same time, I kinda want Eddie to do a double take every time he sees Buck and Tommy together. But you can't really play the jealousy angle while Buck and Tommy are still together, because the switch would be weird. So, really, I have no idea how to play this situation, buddie do need to talk about Tommy in the middle of them, but how does Tommy actually fit in the middle here?

okay so theory time. i think lou is really making it clear that episode 6 is the end of Tommy at the very least as Buck's love interest like the way he's speaking there's finality with that part of the story. Could Tommy come back in a different capacity as a friend for Buck maybe someone buck can confide in about the Eddie of it all sure absolutely. He's basically teasing it when he says I'm not gonna say why I know this is the end, because that would spoil the reason why Buck and Tommy break up and I think the reason why they break up connects to another Lou quote particularly when said if the fandom love Tommy now they'll love him even more by the end of episode 6. So by that I'm theorizing that the reason Buck and Tommy break up is because Tommy is going to realize that Buck and Eddie are in love with each other and he may pull the Buddie trigger to start moving them towards one another. Maybe he'll tell Buck that it was never his attention he was ultimately trying to get that it's always been about one person and he won't say the same but we know who he's talking about and he's like. You have feelings for someone else and you should figure what those feelings are.
Like I think this all connects to the finality Lou is speaking with when it comes to the end of Tommy at the end of episode 6. I think Tommy is the one that's gonna start the true push to Buddie going canon in some way. Very similar to Sam in New Girl when he basically told Jess in a mutual break up that it's always been about Nick it always will be.
The way Lou has spoken all about Buddie as well even when it wasn't asked by the interviewer is also loud, he's saying how he's rooting for them, he loves them together, how he thinks Tommy has clocked something more, how he always calls it a relationship. Like I think he knows this is all leading to Buddie romance imo.
He's just been very very loud with these two interviews.
We could be looking at a one two punch of Tommy leaving in 6 and Marisol leaving in 7, then we get the freaking combo of the guy that wrote episode 4 and JCC the infamous buddie writer for episode 8....like OH BOY.
Lou...as much as I love him, I don't think he really has any idea where they're planning to take his story. I think how long he stays would depend on 1.) fan reaction and 2.) does Tommy stick around push the story forward anymore? I personally think he could, so I'm not taking the speculation around episode 6 being his last as law.
I know it's super exciting right now because bisexual buck felt literally IMPOSSIBLE and then we got it, and then Eddie repression arc seemed impossible, but it looks like they're starting it, so we're all dreaming big, but as much as I am 100% percent certain Buddie is happening, I can't realistically expect it to happen in the next two or three episodes.
If it does, I'll eat my words, but for now, I'm keeping my episode-by-episode expectations realistic.

9-1-1 lone star s04e02
I am so excited about this episode. Earthquake? Didn't that already happen once? Lol, I love that. It reminds me of a commercial where the house got put on a containership because they accidentally got the wrong container. What good advice TK. Don't miss the mark, yeah, no shit, dipshit, haha. I would hope not. No longer as alive as they used to be. That is hilarious. I love Tommy and Grace their friendship. Did I need to know that detail about Grace and Judd their relationship? No. Do I like having it? Absolutely yes.
Aww, he is nervous, that is so cute. And how Carlos changed up his answer, haha. The way he said wife is so funny. Shut up. Is it because you're short, that is the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life. He looks so offended. Fair question. We should just combine the comas TK, Buck, and Eddie have been in and add them together so that the rest of the firehouses are covered. And they don't need to go into a coma. Also, it's more than the average human being and their entire family. Just the three, haha. She is such a vibe, but she could have signed them immediately. How she put the food in her bag was fantastic. I do not know if that is an insult or a compliment. TK bitching to Nancy is everything I could ever want. Get lost, I love their dynamic. Nancy and Tk are eavesdropping, I expected nothing less. Their faces are hilarious. She has a date, whoop.
Oh no, Owen. The cop, wow. I knew there was a reason they brought him back but wow. So, he is undercover? Owennn!
Her dateee. Oh, so he is that kind of preacher, like go off. Sir, Sir, repeat that again, Oh lord. So, it was a dream. Nice. Then I will see you there, Tommy, haha. I can not wait for her to tell Grace about this. The smile is so cute. Haha, Tommy, blurt it out. Why won't you? I love this conversation.
Oehh, possessive TK, lovee. I was afraid for a second, but that is so fucking sweet. She means it so well, but he is so insecure, and it's painful. But good for him to go and see her. Their expressions are so hilarious. And now Owen is running his mouth. Oh no, Owen. C'mon dudee??? Haha. What a healthy way to respond. MY hot mess. They are so possessive in this episode. I hate you, Yeahh. Shut it, that is the cutest thing with the little smile and the teasing tone. Oh uh. Officer Reyes, that is not good.
That little moment between Grace and Judd was adorable. Grace is so savage, I love it. Oh lordy, Omg. His eyes, no, not this, it was going well, and now I want to cry.

rating: general audiences, teen
setting: i guess post season two since that’s when beth appears and maybe leading into season three ?
“ again ? “
“ sorry, beth. “ aidan, the man behind the counter at the coffee shop she’s fallen in love with apologizes like he’s been apologizing because the pumpkin muffins were gone .. again. “ guy took the last two an hour ago, you just missed him. “
“ sorry beth stops feeling sorry four muffins ago, “ a pout colored her features as she ordered her vanilla latte and blueberry muffin as a consolation prize, “ i’m going to find this muffin thief one day, “
“ of course you are, justice will be served ! “ aidan calls after her, raising a stirrer in the air as she raises her own cup in answer as she leaves.
“ huzzah ! “
“ still no pumpkin muffin huh, pumpkin ? “ buck teases her with the smile she knows means he’s holding back laughter at his own joke and she throws a napkin at his head, “ come on, that was hilarious ! “
“ you really need to learn what that word actually means, dork. “ beth said, refraining from letting out the laugh that would give buck vindication on his awful jokes, “ and no, the muffin thief struck again and aidan did nothing but let him have it ! “
“ you mean he actually let someone buy a muffin and then gave it to him ? “ buck affected a mock horrified look, “ i can’t believe he just did his job like that ! the horror ! “
“ you know when casey phillips said you tripped him i said he was lying and backed you up, you could at least pretend to do the same for me, best friend. “ beth said, kicking her shoes off as she took a seat next to him on the couch.
“ that was in second grade and he was lying ! “ buck exclaimed, with all the offense someone could muster over a 12 year old argument, “ casey was a complete klutz ! “
“ of course he was, it’s why he was the only third grader to become equipment manager instead of playing gym with the rest of us. “ beth said, picking at the remains of her muffin before rolling up the wrapper and laying it on the table, “ what i’m saying is i was on your side so you’re supposed to be on mine and not mr. muffin thief. “
“ fine, i’m sorry, “ buck said, making sure he was not sorry at all as he spoke with a familiar smirk, “ do you want me to stake out the muffin shop, find the first customer who buys a pumpkin muffin and hold him upside down by his ankles until he apologizes for his crimes against humanity ? “
“ let’s save it in our back pocket but, i like we’re you’re going with this. “ beth said, nodding as she drummed her fingers along her leg, “ for now, i’m thinking a more verbal approach, “
“ you’re a crazy person, you know that ? “ buck said, the words undercut by the amusement and affection in his eyes, “ an absolute crazy person and athena’s not going to bail you out like moms did. “
“ but, i’m your crazy person. “ beth said with a dimpled grin as she leaned over and pressed a kiss against his cheek, “ besides i’m not going to get caught, you’re the one who always gets caught. “
“ you know sometimes it baffles me how people think you’re the innocent one in this relationship, “ the blonde said with a near pout, “ you’re like half the reason we get into as much trouble as we do, “
“ hey ! you’re the other half of that, buddy, it’s not like you’re some innocent angel yourself, mr. no one will notice if we steal one golf cart as long as we give it back. “ beth said, thumping her foot against his side.
“ hey, we didn’t even get written up for that one ! “
“ because my mom was the arresting officer ! “ beth insisted with a laugh, remembering the look on her mom and her partner’s face when they had stopped the aforementioned stolen golf cart and seen her and buck at the wheel, that had been a lecture for the record books, “ and trust me she was this close to arresting us anyway. “
“ lies, mom loves me. “ buck said, reaching over to snag her coffee off the table and take a drink, “ everybody does, it’s the buckley charm. “
“ yeah, the maddie buckley charm. “ beth said, under her breath only to hear an overdramatically offended gasp in response.
“ see, now i’m glad you never get your pumpkin muffin, “ was the petulant response she received, “ maybe the person who gets it is actually super nice to the best person in their life. “
“ again, i’m super nice to maddie, i brought her lunch yesterday and we went shopping for boots. “ beth said, playfully oblivious to the point buck was trying to make as she fumbled around for where they had left the remote last night, “ we had a great time. “
“ i’m getting a new best friend one day and you’re gonna be heartbroken, “ buck said, full on pouting now as he sank back into the couch cushions, adamantly refusing to help her find the remote even though she knew he was probably the one who lost it.
“ is that best friend going to be an eight year old boy who thinks you’ve hung the moon ? “ she said as she got off the couch to look underneath it wondering if one of them had fallen asleep with it in their hand during a bout of insomnia induced bingeing.
“ maybe … but at least he’s got better taste in movies than you do, “ with that he reached over and pulled the remote out of the couch cushions with a smirk, “ and now i don’t have to watch another re-run of the office. “
“ well excuse me, mr. suddenly i’m too good for the hard workers of the dunder mifflin scranton branch, “
“ hey, there’s my favorite customer ! “ aidan’s wide smile greets her, overly wide and she quirks a curious brow at the at the door greeting, “ how are you today, bethers ? “
“ wondering if i love or hate being called bethers, “ beth quipped, trying to peek past the young man to see what he was hiding from her, “ what are you hiding, aid ? “
“ why do you assume i’m hiding something ? “ the affronted look came and went in a second before aidan sighed and moved away to let her move towards the counter, he followed after slowly and made his way behind it, “ okay, fine i was hiding something but it wasn’t my fault ! it was jake ! “
“ liar ! “ came the affronted and maybe a little scared shout from the back where she assumed jake was doing prep.
“ okay, fine. it was me, but i thought we had more .. apparently our truck isn’t coming until tomorrow, which means … “ he trails off, eyes darting to the bakery case and she already knows what she’s going to see or more likely what she isn’t going to see.
“ dude, seriously ! “ beth cries, green eyes wide as she stares at the once more empty pumpkin muffin plate, “ we had a pact, you cretin ! “
“ nice use of the word cretin, b ! “ jake once more shouts from the back and she moves her glare from the pumpkin case to aidan who threw a empty cup, blindly at the backroom.
“ thank you, my new favorite barista ! “ she calls back, crossing her arms over her chest which earns her aidan’s puppy eyes. thankfully, though a lifetime of being friends with the buckleys gives one an almost immunity to puppy eyes … almost. she softens just a little.
“ come on, i’m sorry ! “ aidan cried, arms flailing about as he spoke, “ it was so crazy and i was going to keep one just for you, but then the truck was supposed to be here so i sold it thinking i could make you a fresh batch, but then i didn’t get the memo that truck was going to be late. “
“ oh my god, breathe, aid. “ beth said, a laugh threatening to escape her and undermine her totally justified anger, “ just give me a cinnamon roll and call it even, dork. “
“ no problem, on the house. “ aidan was quick to place the cinnamon roll into a small bakery box and hand it over, “ vanilla latte, extra whip ? “
“ at least no one can steal that from me. “ a pout colors her features as aidan goes about making her latte and she takes a seat at the small section of the counter designated for customers.
“ did you show her ? did you show her yet ? “ is jake’s excited question as he comes rushing out of the backroom, dark hair a messy tangle and apron covered in flour. jake is nothing if not excitable and adorable as anything, he won her over in seconds with coffee puns and goofy designs in the foam of her coffee, he and aidan are definitely one of the main reasons she’s always come back to this coffee shop.
“ show me what, cracker jake ? “ it’s become one of their rituals, the million and one nicknames she and jake can come up with for each other and his snort of laughter is almost enough to distract her from his curious question.
“ the note ! “ aidan sighs with a fond smile as he reaches into the drawer and pulls out a brightly colored sticky note and passes it to her, “ pumpkin muffin guy left it for you ! “
“ you got into the chocolate covered expresso beans, didn’t you ? “ was bethany’s question as she reached for the note, “ you know you’re not supposed to after last time. “
“ that was an accident that totally wasn’t fueled by the beans besides, that’s not the point ! after like weeks of back and forth, muffin guy left you a note like some sort of scavenger hunt ! “ jake said, growing only more excited and if her heart wasn’t already stubbornly stuck on one dimpled firefighter named tommy jake would have had it in minutes. “ aren’t you the littlest bit excited ? “
“ fine ! maybe i’m a little bit excited if not for the chance to finally know his name and get some revenge. “ beth said with a playful grin as she unfolded the note.
too slow, babe ! maybe next time ;)
“ no name ? he can tease and write winky faces like a teenager, but no name ! “ beth dropped her forehead to the counter with a groan and one of the boys reached out to pat her shoulder before she looked up, “ how much do i have to pay to poison his next muffin ? “
“ you know we can’t do that. “
“ how much we talking ? “ jake said at the same time aidan protested and the other man reached over to smack his forehead, “ ow ! i mean i’m not allowed. “
“ buzzkill. “ bethany groaned once more, sticking her tongue out at them.
“ well … are you going to say anything back ? “ jake asked, curiously as he poked at her shoulder, “ anything at all ? “
“ what would i say back ? thanks jerk for taking away my favorite muffin ? hey thanks for the note, maybe eat that instead next time or ooh ooh how about if you take my muffin again i’ll have my cop mom find you ? “ bethany suggested, picking aimlessly at the remains of her cinnamon roll.
“ or how about something vaguely less threatening .. maybe a hello or try the blueberry ? “ jake offered with a grin and shrug of his shoulders.
“ fine, i’ll write something. “ beth said, reaching across the counter to grab the sticky notes and a pen, scribbling out a quick note.
hope you enjoy it for now, your pumpkin days are over, buddy !
“ that works ! “ jake approved and aidan shot her a thumbs up as he tucked it behind the counter, out of sight as she tossed the remains of her pastry and coffee into the trash, “ bye, bethany ! “
“ au revoir, jacob ! “ bethany replied with a playful bow as she made her way out of the store and into the early winter morning, a brightly colored post with a winking face still forefront in her mind.
