manifesting the Blackthorns have the nastiest, most nauseatingly angsty epic train wreck of a fight in TWP. perhaps in the second book or whenever they all find out about Livvy. like it's awful and you can't look away as they're all at their worst with the people they love the most, who they would do and have done anything for. it's the bloodiest fight any of them have ever been in and there wasn't even any weapons involved, just words they didn't mean and cannot take back. like they all care so much about one another but things have changed and none of them cope with it at all so instead it all just. blows up. like Ty only ever wanted to keep everyone together and go back to how things were, but instead he's the one who inadvertently fractures them; the unavoidabe fate of Blackthorns siblings.

Welcome to the (eventual) countdown for The Last King of Faerie! 🎉

WE ARE SO BACK (sort of). Cassandra Clare has finally given us a timeline for the first book in The Wicked Powers trilogy, The Last King of Faerie. 👑 The release date is scheduled for spring 2026!! Once the exact release date is announced, the countdown will begin. I have also made accounts for the other two books in The Wicked Powers trilogy: @days-until-tlpoh and @days-until-tls.

I will also be doing a countdown for the brand new YA romantasy duology she announced, IN FIRE FORETOLD, once she announces titles and release dates. If you read Sword Catcher and plan to read the sequel, The Ragpicker King, it looks like that will be releasing in 2025. @days-until-rk is where that countdown will be happening.

since I'm posting about devastating mother-child relationships tonight, the idea of Rosemary coming back as a ghost in twp has been floating around my head for a while now. very specifically a scene where Kit finally meets his mom & everything alright right up until Rosemary realises he's a shadowhunter.

like Kit (who's good at reading people) seeing the exact moment she knows. she cannot hide it because the shadowhunters getting Kit was her greatest fear even as she died. That was her greatest nightmare when she held his little body, a future where he was scarred and lived a life of war. that the future she feared so much was one of the best things that ever happened to him goes against everything she knows & believes.

they're finally together for the first time in their lives and there's still an impassable divide between them. the idea Kit was given the opportunity to not be a shadowhunter & choose to ask Jem to train him anyway would be so incomprehensible to Rosemary. the idea that not being a shadowhunter is actually distressing to Kit & if given the chance to change that he wouldn't. like even if she eventually came around, imagine knowing you are all your mother's fears come to life (and you cannot regret it). that even against the odds of death something separates the two of you.

every time that "you take the man out of the city, not the city out the man" song pops up on my tiktok I'm reminded of the fact that not a single one of the twp mains are currently in LA & it makes me sick to my stomach. like wdym that it's entirely possible none of tlkof will take place in LA.... thats literally their home. their city. they always have a city & an Institute & a home base why aren't they there??? idk it just fills me with dread.

when cassie would talk about the wicked powers she would say that it will be the biggest problem to ever face the shadow world. ive always hypothesized it will have something to do with the wards protecting their world, because it has repeatedly been brought up that the wards have been weakening and more and more demons have been able to come through as time passes, exponentially so in the last couple years/decade or so

THE LAST SHADOWHUNTER ??

with that idea ive always had in mind THAT SCARES ME !!

if its literal are they going to do something to fix this that will null the need for shadowhunters ?? will their powers become obsolete?? will their heavenly duty be finished ?? or something more dire.
