manifesting the Blackthorns have the nastiest, most nauseatingly angsty epic train wreck of a fight in TWP. perhaps in the second book or whenever they all find out about Livvy. like it's awful and you can't look away as they're all at their worst with the people they love the most, who they would do and have done anything for. it's the bloodiest fight any of them have ever been in and there wasn't even any weapons involved, just words they didn't mean and cannot take back. like they all care so much about one another but things have changed and none of them cope with it at all so instead it all just. blows up. like Ty only ever wanted to keep everyone together and go back to how things were, but instead he's the one who inadvertently fractures them; the unavoidabe fate of Blackthorns siblings.

Throwing up, weeping, and dying on the inside, but NoT wItHoUt A tHeOrY.

Now, what I'm thinking is (because of the very fact that I LOVE angst and pain) is that something is going wrong with Ty because of Livvy's disappearance (convince me otherwise). Ty may be growing weaker, or is suffering mentally because of it, and Kit, being a Herondale, is about to go out, get some gear, and do something stupid and life-threatening to fix it. Because I'm guessing this is at a point in TLKOF where the duo have some clue as to where Livvy might be, but they're not sure, and Ty, of course, wants to be sure, so Kit is going out, acting on impulse, and doing this himself. He probably expects to be back by morning, but leaves a soul-crushing note, just in case.

So this is a scene, presumably after the first KitTy kiss, where Kit is leaving Ty quietly to do something which will lead him to almost dying when Ty eventually finds him, and that is where we get this:

"It's a bit ironic, isn't it?"

"What do you mean?"

"All that effort to convince you that I wasn't in love with you, and here I am, dying in your arms."

Prepare to jump off some very tall somethings.

Welcome to the (eventual) countdown for The Last King of Faerie! 🎉

WE ARE SO BACK (sort of). Cassandra Clare has finally given us a timeline for the first book in The Wicked Powers trilogy, The Last King of Faerie. 👑 The release date is scheduled for spring 2026!! Once the exact release date is announced, the countdown will begin. I have also made accounts for the other two books in The Wicked Powers trilogy: @days-until-tlpoh and @days-until-tls.

I will also be doing a countdown for the brand new YA romantasy duology she announced, IN FIRE FORETOLD, once she announces titles and release dates. If you read Sword Catcher and plan to read the sequel, The Ragpicker King, it looks like that will be releasing in 2025. @days-until-rk is where that countdown will be happening.

Kit has a rune for "courage in combat" in his chest!!!! And Ty has the voyage and one in his arm we can't see. They probably had fought recently to be so runed (is that a real word?)

It looks like Ty is sleeping with only one neckless?? (Herondale or Blackthorn??)

Ty is sleeping in a sleeping bag? And Kit with just a blanket? Ty would 100% be the type of person to actually prepare for the mission, and Kit would take just a jacket (Not really his fault; he doesn't have as much experience as Ty about what to pack for a mission!)

And they are on solid ground.

And of course, Kit is looking at Ty sleeping! My heart😭

Look, I may be shocked that the release date of TWP is spring 2026 but at the end of day I think it‘s so important that Cassie takes her time with this. Because I want the plot to be complex, I want the characters to be on point and I want the book to be something we have all been waiting for. And that takes it‘s time. So, yes, I‘m okay with waiting another two years if that means I get to hold a book in my hand that fulfills all my expectations (which I know it will).
