All Grown Up
Pt. 3 ‘I Got a Dream’
Tumblr media
Preview
Lucy was always the more perceptive one in their family. It always bugged Tim, how perceptive his wife was, especially because most of the time, Tim was not that perspective. Unless they were at a crime scene, Tim was lost when it came to everything else, especially when it came to the women in his life.
See, as of lately, Lucy has noticed a change in their teenage daughter’s behavior. Zoe was on her phone a little more often these days, giggling, and in a overall better mood. Lucy noticed right away, of course she did, she was her mother’s daughter after all. Tim, as per usual was clueless, and it was bugging Lucy to no end. She wanted to talk about it with someone, but her husband’s clueless behavior was proving to prosper. She wouldn’t bring it up to him, especially because Lucy didn’t see the concern in their daughter dating, but she just wanted to talk to her husband about how fast their baby was growing up.
They still had Greyson, their steadfast nine-year-old who still believed girls had cooties, and Angie their sports-driven twelve-year-old who’d rather be seen on the softball field than on any date. But Zoe was their firstborn, and she was sixteen years old now and entering the world of dating.

Ok, I had a strange idea that I think, despite how it might sound, has some potential
So my mind tends to imagine crossovers all the time, and I had quite an interest idea a few days ago. Just hear me out
A cross over between “The Rookie” and Cod:MWII
Idk I think, despite how different they are, it has some interesting potential, and I’m thinking about making a small fanfic about it
(I may or may not have already started using Chatgpt to get some ideas)
Also it would probably be a König x OC fic (likely established relationship)

Excerpt:
She’d learned something new about Tim after moving in with him: He loved to sing.
And he wasn’t very good at it.
She put the last pan on the drying rack and Tim flicked his wet fingers at her causing water to sprinkle across her face.
“Bradford,” she warned, grabbing the small sink hose. “Do I need to remind you who the Midwilshire champ is? You know I’m a pro shot.”
“You wouldn’t—“
He held his hand out just as she pulled the trigger.
He covered the spout and water sprayed all over both of them. She squealed when he grabbed her around the waist. The hose fell out of her hand as he backed her into the counter, one wet hand cupping her cheek.
He captured her lips and she sighed into his warmth, fighting for entrance with her tongue. She thought that after five months together, her need for him would diminish, but he proved her wrong time and time again. If anything…now that she knew what he was capable of, her desire for him grew stronger.
She ran her hands up his shirt, now soaking wet, and smiled into their next kiss. He’d kill it in a wet T-shirt contest...

Bad Intentions
John Nolan x Original Character x Tim Bradford
Ch 1, Ch 2
— we’re severely lacking on the Tim Bradford and John Nolan fics so I made my own! —
Chapter One:
Genevieve Hart smiled to herself softly as she smoothed down her sundress, hoping that she would make the impression she was wanting too. She could feel her nerves heighten with every minute that passed. The door to their shared room swung open, revealing Henry with a tight-lipped smile, his gaze flickering to his watch.
"You almost ready babe?"
She took one last glance into the mirror, straightening her mother's necklace that gracefully adorned her chest and nodded. "I really hope he likes me."
Henry chuckled, his hand finding the small of her back before planting a kiss on the crook of her neck, her sweet spot, prompting a deep sigh at the initial contact. "My dad is going to be obsessed with you. Everyone you meet is."
A blush settles upon her freckled cheeks as she fought off a smile. "Well, if he's anything like you I'm sure I'll love him too."
He planted a lingering kiss on her cheek before giving me a tap on her back, his head nodding towards the door. "Let's head out."
———
Genevieve's hands nervously tapped against her bare thigh as the car pulled into the driveway. The house, a shining example of L.A. glamour, stood before them. Henry swiftly parked the car and leaped out. She paused, tucking her hair behind her ears in a deliberate attempt to compose herself.
Meeting a boyfriend's family was not new to her, yet this time there was an undeniable difference. She and Henry had been inseparable since meeting a capstone class three months prior, their bond persisting even after he dropped out. She quickened her pace to match Henry's as he strode toward the looming front door.
His fist curled as he rapped on the intricately carved wood, likely a testament to his father's past in construction before he donned the badge of a police officer a year ago.
Her reverie was broken as the door swung open, revealing a man whose presence seemed to command the space around him--John Nolan, Henry's father. She breath caught in her throat as she took in the sight of the man before her, his rugged handsomeness striking her unexpectedly.
"Dad," Henry exhaled with a laugh as he pulled him in for a hug.
"Henry, it's so good to see you," John said as the finally released from their embrace, his body turned to Genevieve as if he just realized she was standing there. She watched as his eyes traveled down her body quickly before meeting hers. "And you must be Genevieve. It's so nice to meet you."
His arms outstretched for her to enter, and Genevieve immediately responded by stepping towards him and entering the embrace. "It's so nice to meet you too, Mr. Nolan." Her arms returned the hug, a comforting gesture that was met with an equal warmth.
"Please, call me John." He insists, releasing her from the hug. A fleeting sense of loss washed over her at the end of their contact. She offered a shy smile and a nod. "Please come in, both of you."
John held the door wide, stepping back to allow them entry. She let her gaze wander, admiring the beauty of the house. "The place looks great, Dad."
"Ah, thank you. A lot of work and a lot of money, but it was worth it in the end." John replied with a chuckle, clasping his hands together. He led them toward the kitchen, his every move captivating Genevieve's attention.
She was jolted from her thoughts as Henry's hand found her waist, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
——
The dinner seemed to stretch endlessly, and Genevieve's heart fluttered each time John addressed her. The unfamiliar emotions puzzler her; she had never experienced anything quite like it. Thankfully, the savory scent of John's roasted chicken and garlic potatoes filled the room, offering her a welcome distraction.
John leaned back on the couch, his arm brushing her bare shoulder, sending an unexpected thrill through her. "Henry tells me you're doing well in your classes," he remarked casually.
Genevieve nodded, feigning nonchalance while crossing her legs and placing her hands in her lap. "I'm managing. With finals coming up, it's a bit hectic, but I'll survive."
His laughter, deep and resonant, caused a pleasant stir in her stomach. "Don't stress too much. You're going to do great, I'm sure of it."
Henry, seemingly unaware of the undercurrents in the room, chimed in from his spot on another couch. "That's what I've been telling her," he said, his attention partly on his beer.
Genevieve brushed a strand of her hair from her face, fiddling with her necklace-- a nervous habit. "I'm trying to give myself grace, but the pressure is on. If I don't pass, the chances of me getting a good job are slim."
John offered a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder before rising. "Speaking from experience, you'll be fine either way. More wine?"
She was about to accept when she caught Henry's disapproving look. "Actually no, I'm good. Thank you," she corrected herself.
John seemed to pick up on the tension, his expression shifting subtly before he took the glass and headed to the kitchen.
Lately, Genevieve's drinking had become a point of contention between her and Henry. She believed she drank no more than any typical college student, certainly less than Henry, yet he seemed troubled by it.
As John cleared the dishes, she couldn't help but be drawn to the sigh of his rolled-up sleeves, the veins on his arms accentuating his strength. The attraction she felt towards him was undeniable, stirring a sense of guilt within her. She loved Henry, so why was she so captivated by his father?
Shaking off the intrusive thoughts, she refocused just in time to hear Henry's voice. "What time is your class tomorrow, babe?"
"Eight," she replied, her mind elsewhere. Despite having shared her schedule repeatedly, he never seemed to remember.
"I've got a meeting at 8:30, so I can't drive you," he said, distracted by his phone.
"That's fine, I'll take the bus," she responded, biting her lip.
John, driving his hands with a towel, offered, "I could give you a ride. It's no trouble."
She hesitated, the thought of being alone with him both frightening and exhilarating. "No, I couldn't ask you to do that. I thrive on public transportation."
John, ever the protective officer, insisted. "It's safer, and it's on my way."
After a moment's pause, she accepted gratefully. "Thank you, I appreciate it."
As John smiled at her, her heart skipped a beat. She watched Henry rise and head to the kitchen, checking his watch yet again-- a frequent gesture throughout the evening.
Genevieve trailed behind, her arms hugging her torso as she stepped onto the cold marble. "Well, Dad, we should be heading out. Need to make sure this one gets her beauty sleep before class."
She couldn't help but roll her eyes, a laugh escaping her as they embraced. John sent an amused glance her way. "Beauty sleep? As if she needs it," he quipped.
Heat crept into her cheeks at his comment, friendly though it was. It stirred a tumult of emotions within her, which she fought to conceal. With a nervous chuckle, she accepted John's embrace as he released his son. Her hands found their way around his waist, feeling unexpectedly right.
As she inhaled the scent of his cologne, a sigh almost slipped out. She managed a soft grin as she stepped back. "Thank you for having us, Mr. Nolan."
"John, " He corrected with a warm smile. "You're both welcome anytime. I mean it. Come by more often."
Henry responded with a playful wink, his arm encircling her waist as he guided her towards the door. "We'll do that."
With a final wave, they exited the house. She wrapped her arms around herself once more, casting a lingering glance at the impressive structure before getting into the car.

The Worst Day - Tim Bradford Imagine (The Rookie)
Tumblr media
Title: The Worst Day
Pairing: Tim Bradford X Reader
Requested: Nope
Word Count: 330 words
Warning(s): Mentions to court case
Summary: After an awful, all (Y/n) wanted to do was go home. When that doesn't change how (Y/n) feels, they turn to Tim for some form of comfort.
Author's Note: This is really short. It's really more of a blurb than an imagine but oh well. Enjoy!
Support my work? https://ko-fi.com/khoward0
-------------------------------------
I let out a heavy sigh as I closed my closet. I thought being able to change out of the clothes, go home, eat something, would make me feel better. But now I'm in different clothes and I'm home but I have no appetite and I still feel like a failure.
"(Y/n)," I looked over to the bedroom door when I heard Tim's voice. I walked out and to the living room.
"Tim," I said quietly. He looked over at me and I felt myself crumbling. "I... The trial... I..."
I put my hand over my mouth once I couldn't stop myself from crying. Tim walked over and pulled me into a tight hug.
"They're letting him go free," I mumbled. I hit Tim's back as I started crying harder. "That monster is going free."
"I'm sorry," he replied, rubbing my back. "Is there anything I can do?"
"I... I don't know."
Tim didn't reply, he just turned around to walk us to the couch. He sat next to me, rubbing my back.
"I just keep seeing her face," I said after several minutes of complete silence. "Her defeated, terrified face. She looked to me for answers and I couldn't answer her. I didn't know how to help her."
"But you can," he scooted a little closer to me. "Tonight feels impossible but tomorrow, you'll be ready to fight again. You're going to find a way through this."
"I'm just scared," I covered my face with my hands. "What if I can't win this one?"
"You can," Tim grabbed my hand. "I'd be terrified to going against you."
"Thanks," I chuckled. "I need to call her tomorrow. I have to make sure that this is something she wants to do."
"For now... how about dinner," he asked. "Relax here and I'll cook."
"I'll get our emergency go-bags ready," I said. He rolled his eyes at me before walking over to the kitchen. "Love you!"
"Love you too," he said sarcastically.

Bad Intentions
ch 1, ch 2, ch 3, ch 4
Tumblr media
John Nolan x Original Character x Tim Bradford
Chapter Three:
Numbness enveloped her as she reclined in the leather seat of John's truck, the silence between them heavy since their departure from campus. Her hands trembled uncontrollably beneath her thighs, gripping the denim fabric for some semblance of stability. John's occasional glances, laden with concern and a tinge of guilt, didn't go unnoticed. He respected her need for space, yet the air was thick with unspoken words.
Upon reaching the station, John parked the car, and reality snapped back into focus for her. The car door swung open, and she felt herself being guided out and towards the imposing structure of the police station. The building loomed over her, its gray facade and darkened windows casting a menacing shadow.
As they entered the station, she could feel the weight of curious and pitying stares. The whispers of the officers and the scent of coffee and cigarettes filled the air, intensifying her desire to disappear.
A voice cut through the murmurs, and she turned to see a man with striking blue eyes, his rugged charm sending a wave of nervous intrigue through her. His smile, though not reaching his eyes, was disarming. "Hey, Nolan, who's this?" he inquired.
The unnamed man's gaze lingered on Genevieve a moment too long, his eyes tracing the contours of her form before meeting hers. There was an unspoken challenge in his stare, a silent question that hung in the air between them.
John introduced her, "This is Genevieve, Henry's girlfriend. She witnessed the shooting at UCLA. She's here to give her statement."
The man's demeanor shifted subtly, the playfulness in his expression giving away to something more serious. "I'm sorry you had to go through that," he said, his voice low and resonant. "Are you alright?"
She managed a nod, feeling the intensity of his concern. It was disarming, and she found herself momentarily lost for words, caught in the gravity of his attention.
John's hands rested on her shoulders, his eyes searching hers with palpable worry. "I need to speak with Sergeant Grey. Will you be alright here for a moment?" His concern was evident, his eyes searching hers for any sign of distress.
"I can keep an eye on her," The man offered, his voice carrying a note of protectiveness that surprised her. It was a simple statement, but it resonated with an undercurrent of something more, a subtle assertion of his willingness to be there for her.
John looked to her for confirmation, and she nodded, her eyes briefly meeting the man's once more. There was a silent acknowledgement, an understanding that passed between them in that glance.
As John walked away, the space he left was filled by the man's presence. She was acutely aware of him, of the strength in his frame and the intensity in his eyes. He cleared his throat, a soft sound that seemed to echo in the quiet of the station.
"I'm Tim, by the way. Tim Bradford," he introduced himself, extending a hand towards her. As she accepted the handshake, a surprising current seemed to pass between them, an unexpected charge from the simple contact. His hold was firm, conveying a warmth that lingered in her palm even after they let go.
"Genevieve-, which John already said that, sorry. It's, uh, nice to meet you." Genevieve stammered, her cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and something else she couldn't quite place.
"Likewise," Tim replied, his voice smooth, his gaze holding hers with an intensity that seemed to see right through her. "So, you're Henry's girl?" he asked, an eyebrow arching ever so slightly.
"Yup, that's me," she responded, her voice barely above a whisper, puzzled by the emphasis he put on 'Henry's girl.'
"Interesting," Tim murmured, his eyes never leaving hers, a hint of something unreadable in his tone.
"What?" Genevieve pressed; her curiosity piqued by his cryptic response. "Wh-What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing," Tim said with a casual shrug, but the smirk that tugged on the corner of his mouth suggested otherwise. He turned away, leaving her words hanging in the air.
Genevieve followed after him, her steps hesitant. "Wait-- hey! You can't just say that and walk away."
"Can't I?" Tim's voice was teasing, his back to her as he continued to walk away, the smirk still playing on his lips.
Before she could respond, John's voice called out to her, pulling her attention away. She turned to find him gesturing from the bottom of the stairs. Tim had disappeared into the crowd.
With a sigh, she joined John, climbing the stairs to a small office. Inside, John's demeanor was all business. "Genevieve. I need you to recount everything from today, every small detail matters," he instructed, his voice steady and calm.
She took a deep breath, the events of the day spilled out. John listened intently, his face a mask of professionalism, giving nothing away. It was almost a relief, his detachment providing a barrier against the raw emotions she felt.
When her account was complete, John's expression softened. "Thank you, Genevieve. You've been very helpful," he said, his voice gentle.
He stood, offering his hand, and as she took it, the floodgates opened. Tears streamed down her face, and John's arms came around her in a comforting embrace. She clung to him, seeking solace in the midst of chaos.
After a moment, he stepped back, his hand on her shoulder. "Let's find Henry," he said, leading her from the room.
As they descended the stairs, Genevieve's eyes met Tim's once more. His smirk was a silent challenge, and she met it with a glare. But her focus shifted quickly as she spotted Henry, her heart aching with a mix of relief and dread.
Relief washed over Henry's features as his gaze found Genevieve at the bottom of the stairs. A tentative smile graced her lips, and without hesitation, he closed the distance between them, his arms enveloping her in a protective embrace. Their lips met in a kiss that was both desperate and tender, her hands finding solace around his arms. The taste of mint and coffee lingered between them, and she could feel the steady rhythm of his heart against her own.
Overwhelmed, Genevieve pulled back, her gaze falling to the floor as she tried to process the rush of emotions.
"God, I'm so happy you're okay. I was terrified," Henry confessed, his voice thick with emotion as he cradled her face in his hands. "I love you so much."
"I'm okay, I'm okay," she assured him, even as another kiss landed softly on her cheek. Henry's attention briefly shifted past her, acknowledging Tim and John with a grateful nod.
"Thank you," he said simply, the depth of his gratitude evident in his voice.
John returned the nod, his eyes meeting Genevieve's with a smile that offered comfort and understanding in the midst of chaos.

Ch 1, Ch 2, Ch 3
Chapter Two:
Too Good To Be True - Kacey Musgraves
Genevieve searched through her closet, a frown forming with each piece of clothing she considered. The pressure to choose the perfect outfit was perplexing; she insisted it was for class, not for the man who would soon arrive, her boyfriend's father.
Her hair was styled flawlessly, secured in a half-up, half-down look, adorned with a bow. Alone in the apartment, she was grateful Henry wasn't there to witness her fretting. The time spent primping felt like a betrayal, though she tried to dismiss the notion.
She slipped into her jeans and rummaged for a specific top, a sigh of relief escaping her when she found the cream sweater she sought. A glance at her phone hastened her pace, she quickly donned the sweater, scrutinizing her reflection with a critical eye.
As she was about to abandon her quest for the ideal ensemble, a knock sounded at the door. Her heart skipped a beat as she grabbed her bag and headed to answer it.
"Good morning," he greeted her with a smile, holding two cups of coffee. "Figured you could use some caffeine."
She accepted the coffee with gratitude. "Taking me to class and buying me coffee? You're spoiling me," she said, her cheeks warming with a blush.
His laughter filled the space as she locked the door behind her. "It's only right to make a good impression on my son's first serious girlfriend," he said.
The words tightened her throat, a stark reminder of her role. She forced a laugh and followed him to his truck where he opened the passenger door for her. She pondered when Henry last showed such chivalry. She pushed the thought aside as they both settled into the vehicle, her glances toward him frequent but discreet.
"So, Genevieve, what classes are you taking?" he inquired, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the steering wheel.
She turned to face him, explaining her major in computer science and minor in cybersecurity, detailing her current courses.
He glanced at her with raised eyebrows, visibly impressed. "That's remarkable, Genevieve. Have you ever considered a career with the force? They're always on the lookout for individuals with your expertise."
Genevieve clasped her hands together, a smile spreading across her face at the compliment, her lower lip caught gently between her teeth as she gazed out the window. The warmth of his praise was quickly tempered by the thoughts of Henry, casting a shadow over her upbeat mood.
She toyed with her mother's necklace, a nervous chuckle escaping her. "I've always dreamed of working for the LAPD," she confessed. "But Henry... he's not keen on the idea."
John's expression shifted, concern etching his features as he navigated the traffic. "Is that so?"
Her voice was a murmur, tinged with hesitation. "Yes, but I get it. There are inherent risks, even in a tech role with the police."
He nodded, his thumb absently tracing his lip. "Still, if it's something you're passionate about pursuing, don't let anyone dissuade you. I started as a rookie at forty, after all."
A giggle slipped from her, and she offered a smile of thanks. "What was it like, being a rookie, I mean?"
"You mean how was competing with recruits half my age?" He gave a wry snicker. "About as fun as it sounds... but worth it."
Genevieve hummed in response, a comfortable silence enveloping them as they drove on. She leaned her head against the window, lost in thought. The complexities of her emotions were a knot she couldn't untangle. The truck came to a halt beside the life-sciences building.
"Thank you, again, for the ride," she said, her gratitude genuine. She reached for the door, keen to distance herself from the confusing pull of his presence.
John's hand on her shoulder gave her pause. "Anytime. And if there's anything else you need, just say the word."
His sincerity was palpable, a testament to his character. She nodded, a wave of emotions swelling within her. Exiting the truck, she felt his eyes follow her. She offered a small, parting smile before stepping into the building, the flutter in her stomach persisting.
She battled the turmoil within, reminding herself that her heart belonged to Henry, not John. As she navigated through the crowd, the weight of the bag was a grounding presence. She sought refuge in the bathroom, hoping for a moment of solitude.
The empty room granted her a moment's peace. She winced at the red mark from her bag's strap and vowed to lighten its load later. Pulling her hair over one shoulder, she sought to cool down, but the effort was futile. Confusion of her reaction to John lingered; she prided herself on choosing the safe, predictable types, not those who sent her into a tailspin with a mere touch.
Suddenly, a loud bang pierced the quiet, sending a jolt through her. The unmistakable sound of a gunshot echoed, followed by screams and chaos in the hallway. Panic surged, propelling her into a stall where she climbed onto the toilet, concealing her presence.
She pressed her back against the cold tile of the stall, her breaths coming in short, sharp gasps. The world outside had erupted into chaos, the sounds of gunshots tearing through the once peaceful morning. Her hands shook violently as she clasped them over her mouth, trying to silence the sobs that threatened to escape.
Tears streamed down her face, hot and relentless, as she crouched in the cramped space. The fear was a living thing inside her, clawing at her throat, threatening to choke her with its intensity. She could hear the screams, the running footsteps, the cries for help that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere.
Another gunshot rang out, so close it felt like it was right outside the door. She flinched, her whole-body tensing, and a whimper slipped through her fingers. The metallic taste of fear filled her mouth, and she could feel her heart pounding against her ribcage, a desperate drumbeat in the silence that followed.
The bathroom door creaked, and footsteps echoed on the tile floor. Her mind raced with terrifying possibilities, each more gruesome than the last. She was paralyzed, her eyes squeezed shut, tears leaking from beneath her lashes.
The voice--his voice--pierced the fog of her terror. "Genevieve?" It was a lifeline, a beacon of hope in the darkness that had descended upon her world.
She collapsed; her body no longer able to sustain the weight of her fear. The stall door swung open, and there he was--Nolan, his face etched with concern. He didn't hesitate as he knelt beside her, his arms wrapping around her trembling form.
"You're okay. I got you," he whispered, his voice steady and sure.
In his embrace, the sobs she had been holding back broke free, her body wracked with the force of them. He held her, his presence a solid reassurance that she was safe, that the nightmare was over-- for now.
