Rowan with a pregnant mate☺️
He’d just be so overprotective I’m living for it
Also I feel like the rest of the cadre would be so involved and protective as well bc that’s their baby niece/nephew!
Oh I liked this...
Dad to be
Let's get one thing straight - Rowan would be petrified and I doubt that would even cut it. I think the moment the word "I'm carrying your babe", would leave your mouth he would go pale. That male has seen some raw, brutal battles and walked out unfazed by it but those four words make him forget how to breathe for a moment.
Without a doubt, the first thing Rowan would picture would be Lyria's lifeless, brutalized body. That not that long ago was full of life and carried their unborn child as well. Now instead of her face it's you who lays their dead. And Rowan is pushed face-first into the same suffering that he thought had healed decades ago.
"Rowan", you would mutter all scared, thinking that this was indeed something that he never wanted. He had only mentioned Lyria scarcely to you and you had respected that but now you knew that this had opened the door Rowan never wanted to open again.
I think he wouldn't say anything. He would reach for you though. Pulling you closer to him so you could stand between his legs and he could rest his hand on your still mostly flat stomach. His heart aches that much more when he picks up on the baby's heartbeat.
That night Rowan would sleep with you tightly pressed against his chest while his hand resting on your stomach.
And when I tell you that overnight he would snap into a father role, I mean it. I doubt you would have a proper conversation straight away because he would need time to process but you would be woken up with two trays of food on the side of the bed, full of fresh vegetables and fruits of all sorts. And you best believe that you ain't getting out of bed until he sees you at least take a bite of half of the things in front of you.
When the morning sickness hits, he is by your side through it all. Never have you spent a moment bent over a toilet by yourself. Rowan is always there, cooler hands soothing the nausea. A gentle breeze of wind hits your damp forehead, as he mutters all sorts of praise for you.
There's no way in hiding the pregnancy as well. Gavriel would know before even you knew of it, old enough to sense it and feel it in the first days in my humble opinion. And Fenrys is too noisy so he would just splatter a question of why your sent had shifted.
They would be delighted. It's the first baby to enter the family so you best believe they are already fighting over who would be loved the most.
I also doubt that Rowan would be territorial around others. Sure, they might earn a snare if they got too close or smothered you too long but he would feel a sense of peace knowing that he has the best worries protecting you as well. Because he knows that they would rather die than let you get harmed, knowing that Fenrys pulled a sword at a caterpillar who fell onto the picnic blanket.
With your bump getting bigger Rowan would get more and more cuddly. You always were a rather affectionate couple but now there isn't a moment he isn't touching you in some way. Side hugs, hugs from the back, you on his lap, him reaching for your hand. He needs you close. Hearing both of your heartbeats is all that he needs.
And I think eventually, one night, with you both cuddled up together beneath the furs Rowan would finally admit how scared he is and how if something was to happen he would want to die himself this time around. There was no way he could go through losing the most important people in his life.
"But we are here. I want you to live in the moment. Experience this", you would mutter, pressing your hands onto his. He would nuzzle his face deeper into the crook of your neck, "I love you both but...", "No, buts, we are here and now, and we are well".
And Rowan let himself believe that for the first time. That he was going to get his happy ever after. Because a father. Watch his child grow beside you. And for the first time, he let himself smile, truly, from within his heart.

Wanda Maximoff was out of control, and Stephen Strange’s attempts at stopping her were falling short. Conversation fell on deaf ears, as the last left off with Wanda with nothing more than a threat from her. Wanda was still coming. Wanda was going to get America Chavez, and she did not care who she needed to go through to get what she needed. Wanda was every bit as determined to get her powers as Stephen once had been to get full use of his hands again, but at least Stephen wasn’t willing to kill a child in order to do so.
Stephen was running out of options. He knew he couldn’t do this alone, not with how horribly Wanda seemed to be doing, not with the Darkhold in her grasp. Stephen needed a secret weapon in his arsenal, someone that was strong enough to take on Wanda, a person that may not have had any magic under their belt, but was just as strong and powerful as her.
Stephen flew up the side of the massive tower. A building that had been sold by Tony Stark years ago had been re-purchased and stood as an empty relic to the man’s legacy. Stephen landed on the balcony with a soft thud, his gaze turning to the right quickly to see you sitting on a chair, hands folded on your lap as you stared at the horizon while your drink sat on the table in front of you, losing more heat by the second.
You knew Stephen was there, but you were not going to acknowledge his presence, not yet. If he wanted something from you, he could say something. You weren’t going to cater to his ego any more than you had done through your entire relationship with the master of mystic arts.
“Y/N,” Stephen said as he slowly approached you. “Are you — can you hear me?”
“I’m not deaf, Strange,” you snapped, turning over your shoulder to catch a glance at him. The grey seemed to suit him well. His hair was polished and done perfectly. Somehow, this man aged like the finest of wines, and the fact that he wasn’t some grotesque, hideous being by this point angered you so much. “Why are you here?”
Stephen cleared his throat and stood taller as he circled around the table to be on the other side of you. He conjured a chair, identical to yours, to sit across from you, and you responded by waving your hand and causing the chair to shatter just before he could sit. Stephen fell on his butt on the ground, and you smirked to yourself as he looked up at you in exasperation.
“Now you’re being childish.”
“Why don’t you go snitch on my parents to me, then?” You replied as he stood up, dusted himself off, and settled for leaning against the barrier. “You sure you want to stand there?”
“I can fly, Y/N,”
“Only when you have that cloak,” you replied and sat up. “What do you want from me, Stephen? I’m pretty sure I told you to stay out of my life.”
“I need you.”
“Oh, that’s rich. You want something. Of course you want something. It’s always take, take, take with Stephen Strange. He gets what he wants, and he wants what he gets,” you sighed and shook your head as you looked away. “Unbelievable.”
“Look, can you just get off your throne for one damn second and listen to me?”
“Me? On a throne?” You laughed as you stood up, kicking the chair behind you as you circled the table and stood before him. “That’s rich coming from you. I seem to remember you wanting a monument in your name at that hospital for being the greatest neurosurgeon they’d seen.”
“That’s, that’s history, Y/N.”
“Stephen Strange,” you hissed. “You are either incredibly stupid or incredibly brave to come here and ask me for a favor. Well, you’re not getting it. I will not help you.”
“You don’t even know what I’m asking!”
“You’re asking me to help the man who killed my father,” your jaw quivered before you gritted your teeth and glared at him. “You’re as dead to me as he is, Strange. Now get out.”
“No,” Stephen huffed. “I did not kill Tony- -“
“Don’t. Don’t say his name — “
“I didn’t kill him,” he explained to you as you started walking away from him. “God damn it, Y/N, listen to me—“
“No!” You screamed, the glass on the barrier surrounding the balcony shattering into dust as you did so. “I don’t want to listen to you. I don’t have to listen to you!”
“I’m telling you, it was the only way, Y/N, I swear on my life —“
“Your life?” You roared as you stomped towards him, each step you took leaving behind a crack in the ground. “Your life? And what does your life matter, Stephen? Why do you have a life and he doesn’t? Why are you still here and my dad isn’t, Stephen!? 14,000,605 outcomes and the only one that we had a chance of winning was the one where my dad dies?” You shook your head, nostrils flaring in rage. “You killed him. You executed him.”
“You don’t understand, Y/N,” Stephen stepped towards you while you stepped back and a way from him, “You don’t understand—“
“For all I care, Stephen Strange, whatever you’re having problems with? You can die. You’ve been dead to me since that day,” you hissed.
Your words were killing him. If only you knew what Stephen had seen. He’d tried so many times to explain it to you, but every single time you had refused. How could Stephen live in a world without you? In every world he had seen, you were the one to have died, and Stephen made a sacrifice. He may have lost you, but the world didn’t lose you. A secret agreement made with your father to keep you alive, to keep you safe and sound and make sure no harm ever came to you, even if it came at the cost of Tony’s life. You had no idea that, shockingly, for once, Stephen actually upheld his promise to someone, his promise to Tony. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of him losing you.
Stephen took a slow, deep breath to keep himself from losing his own temper as he watched you pace back and forth like a lion being held in a too-small cage. He swallowed the lump in his throat. He wasn’t going to get through to you. He wasn’t going to be able to explain to you about how much he still loved you, how he never wanted you to be in this much pain, but that he needed to save you, to keep you alive, and it was fine if you hated him, but he just wanted you to know he never did it to kill Tony just because they didn’t get along.
“You may hate me for the rest of your life, Y/N. I’ll deal with it, but right now, there’s a little girl out there that your friend is trying to kill to take her powers, and Wanda doesn’t care that she has to kill a child in order to reach children she’s never even had. You’re going to let a child die because you hate me, Y/N? Is that how far you’ve fallen?”
You turned your back on Stephen. Walking away, you leaned against the railing and stared down at the city streets below, “Go home, Stephen.”
He laughed in disbelief, “You’re unbelievable. You hate me so much you’d let a child die to prove how much you hate me? I’m beginning to think you don’t even hate me at all — “
“There’s that arrogance — “
“You’re clearly just a hurt little girl, Y/N, grieving endlessly and never properly dealing with it. Well, you know what? Fine. I’ll do this without you. I’ll keep the child safe all on my own since your head is too far up your own ass to be bothered to think about anyone except yourself — just like Wanda, and now she’s gone absolutely mad.” Stephen shook his head as he walked towards the edge, eyes watching as you gripped the steel bar and slowly pushed away from the edge, body bending in half as your head sunk down and you took deep breaths.
“You know what, Y/N?” Stephen watched you, “You’re right. I let Tony die, because before we fought Thanos, he made me promise to him that I’d never let anything happen to you, that no matter what happened, you needed to be safe. In every outcome I saw, you died. Whether you were facing Thanos yourself or you stole the gauntlet to hold, you were the one that died. Your father understood that, and that was the sacrifice he was willing to make. Hate me all you want for a father’s sacrifice for his daughter, but an innocent child shouldn’t suffer because of it.”
Stephen never gave you the chance to respond. He flew up and away from the building, leaving  you alone to process this new information. You sunk to your knees, holding onto the bar and letting sobs overtake you as you thought about the selflessness of your father when it came to you, and how Stephen had been holding this in the entire time and letting you just despise his very being.
~*~
“I tried to be reasonable, Stephen,” Wanda purred as she stalked towards him menacingly, black fingertips dancing in front of her as she held her spell. Stephen was bound by Wanda’s magic, floating in the air as the ropes tightened and choked him, while America was bound in the same fashion and screaming in pain. “You made me do this.”
“You don’t have to, Wanda,” Stephen shouted. “She’s just a child! You’d sacrifice a child for power?”
“For my children?” Wanda corrected him, “Always.”
Suddenly, landing from the sky with a thud that shattered the ground in a 5-foot radius was you, standing tall, staring at the woman who had quickly become your best friend until the events of the Snap where you both quickly isolated yourselves and cut off everyone you knew.
Wanda looked so different. She gasped when she saw you, and yet the version you saw didn’t look like Wanda at all. Her hair was lighter, her eyes sunken, her fingertips black like necrotic flesh. She tilted her head to the side as she stared at you in surprise, “What are you doing here, Y/N?”
“What are you doing here, Wanda?” You replied. “A kid? Really? Is this what we do now?”
“You know the pain I’ve suffered, Stark,” she said, the emphasis of your last name shooting pain into your heart as you quickly thought about your dad. “You know how I feel.”
“I do.”
“Now add children,” Wanda replied. “My children, my children that were ripped away from me — “
“They never existed!” Stephen shouted.
“Shut up!” She screamed, her fingers dancing and causing the binds around Stephen to tighten even more and make him shout in agony. “You don’t understand my pain, Stephen Strange, you never will, but you,” Wanda turned her head slowly to look at you. “Help me, Y/N.”
Stephen didn’t account for this. The bond between you and your father was strong. You lived for each other, you were always together, thick as thieves, annoying as any duo could possibly be. But Stephen didn’t account for Wanda luring you to her side with the promise of your father’s return.
“Help me, and I’ll send you to a world where Tony’s alive,” Wanda smiled softly, and for a moment, you saw your best friend again as her eyes twinkled at the prospect of you being happy too. “You can be together again. You can build again, invent new, crazy things, keep each other safe. Isn’t that what you want?”
Slowly, you nodded, “More than anything.”
Wanda nodded knowingly. She moved to stand beside you and face America. The girl screamed in pain as Wanda raised her hand and began to siphon her power, “Would you like a world with or without Stephen Strange?”
You looked to Stephen and narrowed your eyes, “Without him.”
“I thought so,” Wanda nodded knowingly.
As she continued to siphon her power, you shut your eyes. A teardrop fell as you realized what you were doing. You had two options. One was a permanent solution, an idea you always advocated for. The other was temporary, it would keep the fight going, but you weren’t sure if you could do what really, truly needed to be done.
A portal opened next to America, and it started to drag everything towards it as the girl was screaming in pain. You look down at the ground and clenched your fist. Suddenly, Wanda gasped, her hand flying to her chest as she looked to you. Her heart was no longer beating, and she raised her hand to strike you.
“I’m sorry, Wanda,” you stepped back and raised your hand before Wanda could do her magic. You sent her flying through the portal with such force that her headpiece broke in half, the armor on her back splintering and cracking.
The portal closed, leaving behind half of Wanda’s headpiece. Stephen and America fell to the ground, Stephen quickly getting his footing and walking over to America to check on her and make sure she was all right. She nodded frantically as she stood up with his help. Stephen kept an arm around her as she walked for her few steps before letting her go.
The two of them stood before you. You were staring at the ground, unsure of what to do or say. You were at a loss, you were confused, and you had just hurt someone who had meant so much to you at one point in your life.
A hand settled on your forearm. Lifting your head, you looked into the eyes of the young girl that he had begged you to help him save, “Thank you, Ms. Stark, for saving my life.”
You nodded, “Sure, kid.”
Another hand rested on your shoulder this time, looking up, you met Stephen’s eye as he gave you one nod, “Thank you, Y/N, for choosing us.”
You nodded slowly, your eyes closing as you tried to hold back the tears that were forming as your throat started to burn with that familiar feeling. You couldn’t help yourself, you sobbed as your hand came up and held the bridge of your nose, “I just miss him so much.”
“I know, sweetheart,” Stephen said quietly as his arms came around you in a tight embrace. Your head fell into his chest as you sobbed into his robes. “I know."

Request: Little Door (Jane Volturi x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lugging behind Alec, Jane, Felix and Demetri had become something of a routine. You weren’t allowed to walk around freely: you couldn’t be trusted. You were a wanderer and if you had your own way, you’d almost be impossible to find. You felt like a doll that the Volturi owned, forcing your every move and didn't stop no matter how often you pushed them away to leave you alone. You were acknowledged when Alec insisted that you didn't wander. “Not like i can go anywhere without other people anyway.” You muttered. "Don't start." Felix grumbled and you crossed your arms. You were on the way back from a mission the four had and of course you had to join since they refused to leave you alone. It didn't surprise you, you could barely leave a room without someone's supervision. When you left alone, you learned that someone was always near by.
On this particular day, it had been Jane and Alec who were near whilst you wandered through the rooms, counting the same paintings that got old after the first four days. However, you didn't notice the small door that reached your waist in height. Then again, it was hidden by a table which you had to move. You twisted the knob but frowned when it was locked and sealed shut. "Hey Jane!? Where does this door go?" You called out. "(Y/N), I'm busy!" You heard Jane call back. That was always her answer. Spending time with Alec was always number one priority.
Jane stared down her brother, just as he did his sister when they heard your voice. The two hoping you'd take 'no' for an answer. It was quiet for a moment. "Puh-lease!" Was the loud, dragged out response Jane received who groaned and got up.
You had both hands resting on the door when Jane walked in. "You're being annoying today." You huffed and knocked on the small door. "Promise me that you'll give me an hour of quiet if I do this for you." You nodded. "Done." "Fine." Jane said through a clenched jaw. "I think you might need a key-" you shouldnt have been surprised when Jane grabbed the available corners of the door and tugged, ripping it open. Yet you were pretty surprised but disappointment flooded you when you were met with a slight gap before the opposite wall of the next room. "Wait what? There's honestly nothing?" "Many changes have been made and besides this was probably for maids at some point." "But surely there'd be something to show that. I don't see anything!" "You promised me! I opened it for you now, leave me alone for an hour!" Jane stomped off.
You scowled at the door before peering in. There was absolutely nothing, there was no need for this door. Still you couldnt help but take another gla-. You froze. You were certain you hadn't seen a trap door previously. Not to mention, how everything seemed a little wider around that door. You couldn't just ignore it. You eyed the surrounding area again, this time reaching for the candle that you sat beside you. Your eyes weren't deceiving you. There was a trap door back there. You weren't fond of tight spaces. However, it would haunt you not knowing what that door would be. You opened it and realised just how bizarre the whole situation was. There was no way that this door could ever fit in between the walls as it did. It was hard to believe anyone would squeeze themselves into such a narrow gap which you nearly didn't get through. You couldn't help but think as you pulled the door open that this was completely impossible. You were certain the dimensions of the space were changing. Impossible things never intimidated you though. As a matter of fact, it only intrigued you more.
You dropped down and into a dusty corridor the size of a ventilation shaft. Great. More tight spaces. It led to a slightly bigger room, allowing you to kneel down. Light broke through the wooden boards above you. Natural or artificial, you couldn't tell and you just got more confused. You were alone, in the silence with a piece of while chalk. Your question list just seemed to grow.
For some reason, you remembered drawing doors on the walls in your house growing up. You couldn't quite remember why you did it but you couldn't stop yourself picking up the chalk, just like you did many years ago and draw a door big enough for you to crawl through. To your surprise the outline of the door popped out. You crawled out to find you were outside of the castle. Your head was beginning to hurt. You were completely lost as to how the route you had taken had even existed.  You began to walk away and were surprised that you hadn't been stopped. Soon, you were weaving through the streets of Volterra and no one had stopped you.
Your new independence was invigorating but also scared you. It didn't sit right with you that you were able to just walk away. Not to mention that it had been a few hours and you were beginning to want Jane's company. You didn't get much contemplation of the idea however, since you were met with a smirking Alec. "You're far from home, hm?" You scoffed. "Wow. That's just teasing. You've been following me the whole time?" "No. I'm usually out here. If anything, you're following me." You furrowed your brow. "That's a lie. You never leave the castle unless told to." "Maybe your Alec doesn't." "My Alec? What are you talking about?" Alec ignored you. "Are you hiding from my sister?" "Not intentionally but I'm not opposed to the idea. I'm surprised she isn't tearing me a new one for leaving." "I am intentionally hiding from her." There's a sentence you never thought he'd say. "Come again?" "You seem surprised. Your Jane must be very different from mine." "Yours? Mine? Alec, I don't know what you're talking about!" "Come take a walk with me, I'll tell you about it."
When Alec was speaking, you began to piece together that this wasn't the same Alec you knew and there were tiny details of your surroundings that weren't the same. Alec didn't even deny or ridicule your guesses of this being an alternate world. You did a double take. You hadn't turned any corners and had been walking further away from the castle. So how had you both ended up working towards it again? “How can you walk away from something and still come back to it?” You asked, almost exasperated. “Isn’t that obvious? You return to everything when you want to, even if it isn’t consciously.” Alec said. "You know, you're my kind of Alec. I like you more than the other one. He's mean." Alec seemed pleased, taking it a compliment which only supported your theories.
When you got to the double doors, you noticed that Alec winced. "I should warn you. My sister is very...loud and self centered. I suggest you go along with everything she says. I just nod and avoid her at all costs." Just in that moment, just as you had heard a spiteful screech and Alec muttered "here we go..." Jane stomped into sight, glaring behind her. "I want a new tiara. I want a new tiara!!" The last sentence was literally the scream of a spoiled brat. Thankfully for the two of you, Jane was too busy throwing a tantrum to notice either of you, that or she didn't care.
Alec led you to the throne room and you had the strangest encounter you had ever had. This had definitely been a first that you had seen all three leaders, Aro, Marcus and Caius look excited to see you and squash you in the middle of them for a hug or what was instead, a very tight squeeze. They gushed over you, excited to see you. All three wearing huge grins which was startling to see from Caius and especially Marcus however, not so much for Aro since he could be like that at times. They pulled you away from Alec and even though the conversation started light, it turned into a bicker session between Aro and Caius. The two argued who was your favourite and we're no longer as animated. Instead they were just as welcoming and warm but were easily annoyed by one another, much like brothers would be...though maybe not at their age? You didn't notice Marcus wave for your attention and nodding to an open door, offering your escape. You sent him a thumbs up. Neither Aro or Caius noticing your departure.
You eventually came across the gardens and found Alec there. He wore a small frown giving some glances to the sky that was growing dark. "Are you okay?" You asked him. "You'll be leaving soon." He responded. "... are you sad?" "I'm a little worried. It feels like we won't be here anymore when you leave- even when you close your eyes." Alec said slowly. "I need to go back." "I know...but will you ever come back?" He looked up at you. "I don't know." You twisted under his stare. "I don't even know how to get back." Alec tore his stare away from you immediately. "You know where it is, don't you? You told me the doors here change. You know where it is right now." You asked him. Alec slowly nodded. "Take me there. Please." You touched his arm.
Alec lead you to the kitchen where there was the same looking doorway. You looked in, the tunnel plunged in darkness. You purposely didn't look at Alec. Everytime you caught a look of his face. He looked heartbreakingly sad. You sighed, unable to overlook it. "Alec, can you not look at me like that." "like what?" "like I'm stamping your heart into millions of pieces." You said, trying to keep your emotions in check. "Don't forget us." Alec shot at you, catching you off guard. "If you don't come back, don't forget us." "I won't, I promise. I won't forget any of this." You promised and pulled him into a hug. It was short and sweet and you climbed in.
The further you got into the tunnel, the louder things became. You heard a man and a woman talking from the floor above you but they were muffled, you hadn't a clue as to who it was. You squeezed your way out and had returned to the room you were in, just as you had left it. It must have been a while because the candle was out but it didn't look like it had ran out, instead it looked like it had been extinguished.
You heard yelling on the floor above you and decided to investigate the emotion. You got to the stairs when you realised it was Jane you had heard yelling. “Where could they have gone!?” you heard Jane scream. “You’re a tracker, how could you not find them!?” “Jane-” You heard Felix tried to calm her but to no avail. “Shut up!” There was a pause. “What am i supposed to do!? Do I need to go out and find them myself!? Huh!? Answer me Demetri!” You had never heard Jane so angry and once you got to the top step was when you were noticed. Alec was the first to see you, quickly taking his sisters arm and her attention turned to you not to long after Demetri and Felix saw you too. Jane stared at you for what felt like minutes. You weren’t sure what was wrong with her to be screaming so loud and so angrily but you were quickly given a hint.  “Where the hell have you been!?” Jane screamed, marching towards you. You took a few steps back but Jane caught your arm. “Upstairs, now!” There was no room for argument and you heard her stomp her way up after you. she just about dragged you into your shared room and slammed the door. “Where have you been!?” “Here!” “Don’t you lie to me! I am the last person you should be lying to! Are you suggesting that we’ve all just walked past you!?” You didn't answer, shifting your weight. "(Y/N), I asked you a question! Where were you!? We looked everywhere. Demetri couldn't track you. It has been hours. I can't believe this! This is why I can't trust you to be left alone!" "I'm sorry!" You shouted over her, hoping she'd hear it. She did so, she paused, staring at you. You had never apologised. You were like her, you never apologised. Yet you did this time. "Apologise to me by telling me where you've been." Jane said, holding her stare on you. Perhaps she thought you'd disappear before her. "You'd never believe me..." You said weakly. She blinked but didn't budge, it was apparent that she wasn't taking no for an answer.
As predicted, she didn't believe you. You tuned her out after that, just to spite her. A part of you wished you had stayed in the other world. Before you knew it others had joined the discussion. It got so crowded that you had to excuse yourself because there were so many people. They thought you were mad but maybe one day they'd believe you. At least you had the option to come and go as you pleased. Whilst you thought about the little door and a smile rested on your face.
