Undertale Yellow Car Headcanons 2

People liked the first one, so I figured I'd go do a few more to cover some folks I missed and add some extras for ones I already covered. Kudos to a friend on Discord who's a massive car nut and suggested quite a few of these. First one in case you haven't seen it. This one's a bit chonkier, so grab a snack or something.

Martlet: Electric Bike

Even if Martlet getting her hands on a driver's license is nigh impossible, we figured she should at least have something, even if she doesn't use it that much. Electric bikes seem to fit her style. Dunno if she'd use it often, but if the surface has no-fly laws or whatever, it'd probably help her out some.

Toriel: 2CV

...okay, Tori isn't really a UTY-exclusive character, but she has a minor role in the game, so does she count? Anyway, my friend had the idea of her using what they described as 'everybody's favorite little wine snail' and I think it fits her too well.

Chujin: Loud Ass 90s Tuner Car

If Chujin didn't inject raw Mountain Dew Voltage into his soul and survived to see the surface, he'd probably drive something like this. It ties in with the whole Ben 10 thing and it's a great way to express himself, as obnoxious as it may be. Usually, Ceroba makes him drive the family sedan.

Ceroba: If She Owned the Hummer (Semi-Joke one)

I meant for it as a shitpost, but we thought up an idea if she actually did own the car. Don't worry, she always looks before merging. Anyway, we figured she got it mainly because it's pretty cool. However, it is a massive waste of gas money, so she only uses it for camping or driving Kanako and Clover around on their birthdays. Otherwise, it mainly collects dust in her garage while she uses the more fuel-efficient sedan.

El Bailador: Lowrider

Kudos to @cheddarchandelure for suggesting this and it couldn't fit any better. Lowriders fit him like a glove. You know he just has this thing modded like crazy. It's nearly 20 feet of car, too. You don't get much more expressive than that.

Feisty Five: GMC Vandura

I gave the Feisty Five individual vehicles, but they also kinda need a car for the whole gang and what better vehicle for a group of crime fighting dinguses. Perfect for missions, lassons, or just hanging out as a group together. Starlo technically owns it, but usually Moray or Ace drive the thing.

Ace: Antique Mercedes

Okay, I know I technically already did Ace in the first part, but my friend suggested an Antique Mercedes, which I think fits a lot better than the Porche. I'll let you guys draw your own conclusions, tho.

Moray: SLK Roadster

Still a convertible, but I didn't like the image I used in the last one. So now we got a specific model for our favorite fish with no gender.

Mooch: Pretty Much Anything, but here's a Corolla

On the chance that Mooch somehow gets her license back, she'd be willing to drive whatever. Hopefully more responsibly this time around.

Dina: 5th Gen Mustang

My friend suggested that a classier style of muscle car would fit better than the more aggressive model I used in the first, and I think it suits her more laid-back nature well.

Blackjack: Antique Flatbed

It's been in his family for generations, and he's way too attached to the thing to get rid of it. Generally, he just fixes up anything that breaks down on him.

Starlo's Family: Uh...Trucks

The main workhorses for the Sunnyside Farm. Sure, they got a few dents and aren't the cleanest or most advanced, but hey, they get the job done. Mainly driven by Solomon and Orion, occasionally Starlo. The Cabover (bottom) is generally used for the big harvests and the pickup works for everything else.

Mo: C4 Corvette

The perfect car for a sleazy businessman! Well, not sleazy, but you get what I mean. He likes to act stylish with his choice of car, but his is constantly breaking down mechanically, since he doesn't really bother fixing the thing, just detailing it. Doesn't leave the best impressions for shoppers.

Honeydew Shopkeeper: Figaro

Why? Well, simple, it's small and cute, just like she is! Not much else to say beyond that.

Kanako: '70 Dodge Challenger

Kanako's still a bit too young to drive, but we settled on this for a dream car of hers, with both a road and track package. She got the idea from both the racing games she plays and Dina's own muscle car. Nobody understands why, But she really wants to visit San Francisco with it

Clover: Ford Galaxie Convertible

Figured we should do Clover's dream car as well. Not much a reasoning, we thought this just fit their style. Once they come of age, you know darn well they'll be racing Kanako.

I keep thinking about the Virtual Singer from each Sekai and what do they mean

Like what do they represent, what and who makes them appear and what does it mean to the related character

For a long while I thought each VS was linked to a specific kid, based on the focus where they appeared and who it was related to, mostly because of Niigo because... Damn each of them got their assigned VS for a year and half pratically you all know what I mean

But it didn't quite fit all the units and it also fit Niigo less than before, so it couldn't be that

So I kept thinking and

I think each Virtual Singer represent a... "concept", some very specific feelings from each kids

The one I'm the most sure about are VBS and L/N but I just can't explain L/N because they're so obvious to me I don't have the words to express it, so I'll use VBS VS as an example

Starting with Miku

Well, it's pretty simple... Miku is the only one I don't have a clue about (But she's often related to Toya now that I think about it)

So !

Meiko is so obviously that mentor figure, like the role-model... And by that I obviously mean RADers. The way she gives huge Nagi-san and Ken-san vibe and the similarity you can notice between her and those two definitely comes from An and Akito's perception of them, I don't need to elaborate on why I think

Rin and Len are the definition of "partner". I mean, An literally said it in Len 1* side story, she don't see them as sibling or lovers, but as singing partner

And each time one of the kids has some trouble with their specific partner, it reflects on Rin and Len, without much surprise.

They probably both has a distinct meaning, I think about Len's fear of being left behind and being kinda jealous in bout for beside you that obviously fit An but also Akito (those two again, Akito and An are as easy to read as open books it seems. Funny cause they're not the one fond of reading- ahem.), But I can't fully grasp it tbh...

I think I should precise I'm only aware of the stories out on EN before I keep going

Because VBS Kaito and Luka have only one focus feat on EN rn (Vivid Old Tale is the current event) so I could be wrong or maybe I've missed something

But oh by God Miku they make me ill I have to elaborate on them

Kaito first, he appeared during SBD, an Akito focus

And the sweet tooth aside, no one would ever think he looks like Akito. You could even say he's the complete opposite, with his airhead behavior and his innate talent. I even saw some people comparing him to Toya

Meanwhile Luka appeared, or she most likely came back, during SDSC, Toya's focus

And... Well she's also an airhead, kinda. People doubt her link to Toya way less than Kaito's one with Akito, but when you look at it she's everything Toya would think he isn't. She's the carefree and emotionnal one who just go with the flow without thinking about the technical side of things much (something Kaito is way better at even he doesn't seem so). Like, she's just... Living at her fullest, you know

They are everything but alike the kid they came around for... So what does it mean ?

Well I would say Kaito and Luka are what Akito and Toya wish they were, kind of. Akito's frustation being depicted during SBD, how he was chasing after Toya all this time and still kind of do

Toya who was compared to Kaito by ppl (not in game as far as I know), and who's also some kind of talented airhead...

Toya's wish to experience new things in SDSC, that part when he mention how he "has done so little with my [his] life..." But how he would catch up now that he can

And the way how if you ask Toya, the one who made him discover than a such freedom was possible, and kind of open the door for him to this carefree world is Akito. And how he would not be here without him

Did I just typed a whole Virtual Singer analysis only to trick you and makes you read about gay parallels- Noooo, what do you mean... I wouldn't dare

More seriously yeah I have an Akitoya illiness so they're the more developped thoughts I have on the topic, but I wish and hope people would dig into this more because I can't grasp every concept by myself

I have had some Ideas

Andor

Andor is a law student when he first meets the gang, I think. His father, an influential CEO or something, is pushing him to pick a specialty that benefits the company and the family, but Andor doesn't want to do that. Don't get him wrong, he likes studying law, but he'd rather use his degree to help people.

Conflicted, one day he follows the pigeons and ends up at Jordan's bar. Jordan, of course, clocks him as soon as he walks in. For one, he's younger than the usual clientele and two, his clothes are more expensive than the bar. Still, maybe it's the way the kid's wings shine purple in the light, or maybe it's a glimpse of the purple and black writing on his gun (it's his grandfather's old gun, too big for Andor's hands), but something draws him over to the kid. So, he waves Andor over to the bar, offers him a drink, and at one point, manages to lean just so to make his necklace fall out of his shirt, just for a second. (I think it was a necklace, anyway).

It's a while before Andor gets introduced to anyone else in the gang, tho, and when he does, Jordan only refers to him as "my brother." ("You have a brother?!? Since when?" "Two weeks ago :)" ). At some point, Andor makes his decision to specialize as a defense attorney and he gets cut off and disowned. It's Jordan and Capsize who help him pay for the rest of his schooling after that.

In the end, Andor ends up working part time at Jordan's bar and part time as the best defense attorney ever seen. He takes a lot of cases pro bono, refuses Tom's recruitment attempts, and just generally lives his life. Jordan is grateful to have some help around the bar. The patrons think that maybe this means the bar will be open all week now, but nooo, Jordan just had to hire the one guy who worships the same lost goddess that he does. He eventually even gets a gun that fits him better. I'm thinking a shotgun, but that's tentative.

2. Martha

I think Martha is some kind of magic prodigy who went to actual school for it, and is now like, a researcher or something. She's a bit of a snob about it and would absolutely have a heart attack if she saw how Jordan used magic. She doesn't necessarily support her brother's company, but she keeps quiet about any kind of corruption or shady shit she's seen.

3. Waglington

100% he's an assassin. He's a really fucking good one, too. Officially, he doesn't discriminate in employers or in targets. Unofficially, he won't kill kids. I'm thinking kinda along the lines of Deadpool-style, but still Wag. Does that make sense? His official legal job, tho, is architect, part of a firm with the rest of Fyre UK. Are the other wizards also hitmen? Idk, I haven't thought that far.

4. Farmer Steve

I haven't given this one much thought, but I think he's the gardener for Helgrind's mansion. That's how he met Andor, and, once Andor left for university, Steve quit working for Helgrind. He probably ends up working for Tom somehow, maybe as part of a body disposal team?

That's all I've got right now, but the au is giving me some ideas lol.

Andor

I love love love everything you've written for Andor! I had in mind him helping Jordan out with the bar, but didn't know what else he could be doing. And I just absolutely love the idea of him being a law student/eventually defence attorney - it feels so very him.

I really like the first meeting between him and Jordan that you've written. Andor feeling lost in what to do, finding his way to Jordan's bar and immediately getting clocked by Jordan as needing help. Jordan just knowing that he's an Ianitee being like yep, gonna help this kid. (Jordan having a necklace with Ianite's symbol wasn't originally in his character description, but that's almost always an accessory I give to Redbeard and I can definitely see him giving either his necklace or a very similar one as a thank you for letting him and Capsize use the backroom).

I just love the little Ianitee found family thing going on with Andor, with Jordan basically adopting him and Jordan and Capsize paying for his schooling after Helgrind does his typical bastard man behaviour and disowns him. It's just got the very best of vibes and got me like 😭 in the most /pos way. (Also Tom being like “Have you considered joining the mob” and Abdor just being like “No :-)” is so good 10/10 no notes).

Martha

Oh I always love the vibes of Martha being like a university researcher, it suits her so well. She is absolutely a bit of a snob about magic due to her general talent with it as well as being formally educated. Oh she almost definitely walks into the bar so she can meet the man whose taken Andor is, sees Jordan haphazardly mixing magic into cocktails and wants to scream.

Waglington

Yes yes yes yes! Assassin Wag best Wag!!!!! I do absolutely live the idea of him appearing on the story because someone has ordered a hit on someone in the group and now they need to deal with him while they're trying to track down a serial killer.

I also love him still being an architect. It's how he gets in and out of place without being seen, he designed half the city. Tom hired him for architecture reasons a couple years ago and is baffled to learn that he is an assassin.

Steve

Oh this has vibes! I really like the idea of Steve working for Helgrind then immediately quitting when Andor does because he was only sticking around to make sure the kid was okay. He gets himself a small fortune from selling all the secrets he's gathered about Helgrind over the years right to Capsize, and yes definitely ends up working for Tom. I can definitely see him working in body disposal (though officially he's the gardener of one T. Castle - a cover that buys him quite a few months of not needing to tell Andor that he's working for the mob when he re-mets the kid until Andor gets to know Jordan and meets Tom).

Markiplier Egos with an Aromantic DA / Viewer

a/n: I randomly decided I really wanna get something out for aro week, so I've got a oneshot mayhaps involving a certain adventurer in the works, but knowing me that might take a while (if I even finish it all) and these tend to be easier for me. So, that's why this exists...not that you asked.

WILFORD WARFSTACHE

He wouldn't really care, but in like a supportive way.

He may not look like it, but the guy's got some common sense.

I can't see him as the type to ask a lot of questions especially if you're visibly uncomfortable around the topic. (tho ig he might if it's for an interview, not sure)

A big part of Wil's character is just accepting shit as it is and not questioning what you can't understand because falling down that spiral is ultimately unhealthy; so if you were to come out to him as any sexuality/gender identity, he'd most likely just accept you immediately and move one.

Expect to receive a lot of aro themed stickers on pride month though.

DARKIPLIER

Also doesn't care, but it's less him being supportive (tho he is) and more: it doesn't affect him, so why should he care?

Like you do you. Your love life is none of his business.

Quite frankly, he couldn't give a shit.

Though, he might find some relatability with you.

Despite how one might interpret ADWM, I cannot see Dark as an entity with the capability to feel much of anything. (other than rage, vengefulness, etc.)

There are some vague memories of past feelings from both Celine and Damien (and possibly the house entity, idk) mostly shown through his clear favoritism for Wil.

However, I don't think he really can feel romantic feelings, nor does he want to.

Being loved sounds nice, but ultimately it would just get in the way.

So having someone around that's kind of like him in that regard is almost nice...cathartic even.

You both like to watch 'marriage gameshows' (the bachelor, love is blind, etc.) over wine and laugh about how you'll never have to deal with relationship problems. (idc if that one's ooc)

In all seriousness, he's mostly chill about it throughout your friendship, but it's hard for me not to picture him as the type to think you're just being naive and that 'everyone has to find someone someday'. (I believe WKM takes place in the 1920s, so like, what were you expecting?)

That is until Celine cheats on him.

It was just such a world shattering thing for him, he genuinely loved her more than anything.

It's not a complete 180°, he doesn't suddenly understand your lack of attraction from this, but one night you check in with him to find him wasted in his wine cellar and he's basically like: "You had it right all along, my friend. Love...Love is not for everyone. ...Certainly not the faint of heart."

Which like, you didn't choose this, but you were more focused on making sure he was okay at the time to care.

YANCY

A part of me wants to think he'd be a little confused at first just cause the idea of having to explain aromanticism and/or asexuality to him because he's just genuinely curious is really adorable to me.

However, the rest of me refuses to believe his friend group isn't entirely comprised of both people in the lgbtq+ community and hardcore allies who would happily beat the shit out of aphobes on a daily basis.

Not to say that they think of you as child-like because of your sexuality, but it's a prison family and you're 'fresh meat' so you're their little aro-bean now whether you like it or not.

Yancy especially is protective of you in an almost older brother type way.

So if after/during coming out to them (or just him) you mention how scared you were/are because you've had a lot of bad experiences or something, he's like constantly ready to sucker punch and/or ballerina kick anyone giving you flack over just being who you are.

He's always willing to tell you how valid you are when you need to hear it, and overall is just a really great friend.

...Even with the stabbing.

ILLINOIS

In an odd way, he almost feels...relieved?

Call it a humble brag, but literally all of his past work partners had fallen in love with him at some point, and while the attention certainly feeds his ego, that kinda thing just gets tired and even annoying after a while.

So knowing that'll never happen with you is actually a nice break from what he's grown so used to.

He's never had someone around who genuinely enjoys adventuring as much as he does.

And who isn't like constantly ogling him. (I mean probably anyway, idk what it's like to be aroallo)

Having you around may also cause him to start questioning some things about himself, particularly when you're explaining your orientation.

But that's a topic we'll be getting into at another time! (*wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* *stares at empty draft*)

He's still used to trying to fluster people cause he finds it funny and in general is just the kind of person to be a bit touchy with his friends (meaning: platonic hand holding, hugs, head/back pats, standing weirdly close a lot of the time just naturally, etc.), so if you're ever uncomfortable just tell him and he'll cut it out straight away.

You're both just kinda really good friends, and he's not at all weird about it like you thought he might be.

CAPTAIN MAGNUM

Supportive Pirate Dad! 10/10!

You definitely have to explain what it means to him, but he verbally accepted you before he even asked.

Kinda like: "That's great!...What is it?-"

Would have the crew sew you a flag if it would make you happy.

They are still pirates who have been sailing across the deep blue their whole lives with presumably no contact with the mainland however.

So unless you for some fuckin reason told them what it looks like, you can expect to receive a relatively small, plain black flag with the word 'Arrowmantik.' spelled incorrectly and somehow sewn on in perfect white Helvetica.

HEAD ENGINEER

Might be a little discouraged at first. His crush on you was a tad obvious.

But he figures it's for the best. You are the captain after all. Pursuing that relationship wouldn't have been professional in the slightest.

It does take a bit but he gets over it eventually.

He still genuinely loves you platonically/as a person, so things don't really change all that much.

You still have a strong friendship and work really well together.

He tends to go a bit overboard now about giving you personal space cause he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable. So you may have to reassure him multiple times if it wasn't an issue.

During when pride month would be on earth he might gift you little aro themed stuff, like a patch you can't actually add to your uniform for work reasons but love and appreciate anyway.

He may not fully understand how you feel, but he never stops trying to, and either way he's always gonna support you no matter what.

Your orientation could never change how much he loves and trusts you both as a captain and as his friend.

He doesn't really care since it doesn't affect what you guys do, though he is openly accepting, especially if it seemed like you needed to hear that it wasn't something that bothered him.

In a similar vein to Illinois, he's strangely grateful.

He's not sure how he would've dealt with the situation had you developed a crush on him. Such emotions tend to get in the way more often than not in his line of work.

He didn't wanna have to kill you just to make his life easier. Taking a life out of necessity isn't as much fun, plus he'd grown a tad fond of you.

I like to think he cares quite a bit about your mental health, it would make sense given the whole murder thing.

So if you often go through periods of doubt or even internalized self hatred regarding being aromantic, he's gonna be there to help you through it.

He goes with you to pride parades and if anyone tries to tell you that you don't belong there, they're immediately getting put on a black list.

He got you a nifty little keychain once while you were there.

Overall, surprisingly wholesome.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is Good

Yeah, you heard right. I came out feeling like this film was better than I would've ever expected. I'm talking about the Super Mario Bros. movie... from 1993.

That's right, the live-action one. The one considered the first and one of the worst video game films of all time. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, I enjoyed this film; it was better than it had any right to be even with its glaring flaws. So yeah, with the animated Mario movie coming out this year, I wanna talk about what went wrong, what they got right, and if this had to be as bad as many have said. It's no April Fools, let's really do this...

This film doesn't have Bowser in all his thicc glory tho so I won't say it's as good as what Illumination cooked

Now I'll go ahead and say: the '93 film isn't a "faithful looking" Mario Bros movie. Like the alternate dimension they go to is just the Bronx on a Friday evening. There's a nightclub where we meet a Mario enemy in the form of a very hot black woman that results in Mario fishin' in her titties. Donald Tru- President Koopa is a human and yet hates humans apparently? The princess is named Daisy, Toad is just some guy, and Luigi doesn't have a mustache. This is more of a Super Mario World movie than a "Super Mario Bros" movie like omg, it's a mess. Then again, I'm looking at it as not just somebody obsessed with "faithfulness" and I see a film that does some things right both originally and for the games.

In the least, Hoskins and Leguizamo made for a legit great pair

I think about the blueprinting around this film, back in the 90s. You're tasked with making a movie and if it just had to be live-action, what COULD have been done? I'm not excusing the probable production hell that went on with this or saying the changes are all perfect, but some of what they do here actually worked even if they don't look the part. Mario and Luigi felt like close brothers and we don't get into a forced falling out determining who was the better brother or more in the right. Even if Luigi doesn't have his cowardice, this was before Luigi's Mansion solidified that into his personality so making him a more optimistic leap of faith kind of guy fits with him being the younger brother. Mario's more cautious but reasonably so, all the while he's the reliable take-charge hero he's known for in the games. Dennis Hopper, I don't doubt hated working on this, was great playing the unapologetically nasty villain Koopa. However in name, Daisy is still made the princess and she's as kind-hearted as imagined. Yoshi is still a dinosaur. So much of this movie looks like they bastardized the point of Super Mario but at the same time, I can still say they fit in this original spin of the universe.

Plus Yoshi genuinely looks great here like it's a mystery how this looked better than Disney's attempt at dinosaurs 7 years later

If there is a genuine problem I have with this film, it'd be a couple of the side characters. Big Bertha (yes, real name) was a minor character that I liked but is never seen again at a certain point. Koopa's relatives Iggy and Spike, also humans, switch from bad to good as well after literally gaining intelligence but it still didn't make sense why they betrayed Koopa. There are more than enough things in this world that will not make sense even if you can piece it together. I don't think this'll leave you hating yourself for watching it, but it'll leave you flabbergasted for sure.

Then again if the animated Mario Movie doesn't have them go to a nightclub, Illumination needs to fall

Otherwise, this film revels in the chaos and that's why I kinda love it. People who tout this as bad seem to be under the impression that it's Super Mario Bros in name only when I don't see it that way despite the liberties they took. The film gets that Mario and Luigi are plumbers from Brooklyn, that they grow to be heroes, and that they're rescuing a princess from an evil bad guy. Even with this Total Recall-looking fantasy world, I won't pretend to say it doesn't work as a Super Mario Bros adventure. Even if they got too ambitious, it never felt like they knew nothing about who the bros were and how they could make a story for them. Again, if you see it more as a Super Mario World film you'll be less confused. Plus, on its own, it's kind of a shlocksterpiece. It's not as corny as the Super Show cartoon, but this throws you off in very compelling ways. You have a scene where Koopa uses a SNES Super Scope to shoot a guy and transform him into a chimpanzee. It's madness but consistently so. I'm not gonna pretend this is the worst thing ever just because it doesn't look the part and isn't "faithful" to the games.

But you know what? It begs the question. What could've been done differently for this film? I like this film but I can see where people were befuddled and disappointed by it so you know what? I'll be constructive this time because I believe in some alternate timeline of 1993 there's a version of the Super Mario Bros movie that's actually better received.

Let's make a more faithful adaptation, if I may

It'll still have the characters, accurately costumed, same casting, and if it has to be the case, it will be live-action. Except this time the story... is a road trip. Not like Sonic's eventual movie that just takes place in the real world, Mario and Luigi get transported into the Mushroom Kingdom and their quest of course is rescuing the princess and stopping Koopa. Since most Mario games have been about getting from point A to B, I figure the trip could consist of the brothers traveling through a couple different worlds, meeting the different folk of each world, and incorporating what they learned to defeat the bad guys. The bros would of course get into an argument but it wouldn't result in them separating or being entirely against each other. In their predicament, that would be stupid. They could also be an inspiration for the people they help along the way and they'll have an entire army fighting Koopa's army Flash Gordon style. The final act would be them conquering world 8 or Koopa's domain. It'd be like the Super Mario Adventure comics meets... Robots, I guess? In the end they save the day and while they're sent back to the real world, the door is always open for more adventures just like the original. Easy to execute idea, yeah? It'd be as much about the Mario Bros as it is the actual worlds of this franchise. Wishful thinking I know, but what do I know?

I just know that adaptations don't have to be faithful to be both enjoyable and considerate of the source material. I'm hard on stuff like Netflix's Cowboy Bebop, the first Sonic Hedgehog film, and the Disney remakes especially not because they needed to be 1 to 1 with the source material, but what they do as their own thing isn't enjoyable and at its worst, they bastardize what worked perfectly before for audiences that don't care. If you want to adapt something and give it a style, go all the way with it while knowing the values of the source material that made it work in the first place. That's what the '93 Mario Bros movie did for me. The directors didn't make Mario and Luigi whole other people, they just gave them a different yet similar adventure. I just hope with this review of mine, you give it a shot and don't look at it for a movie that should've been. All that said,

It's an amazing 8 Out of 10. Kino with the right eye.

because this fandom does not have enough of it and I felt like it. Also because i missed neurodiversity week by one day.

He's definitely neurodivergent.

I don't think he'd identify as anything in particular, but he identifies as neurodivergent cuz he's a nindroid and because of that doesn't fit in or think like neurotypicals.

He's a bit of an outlier because of that tho, even in neurodiverse places.

He's decently public because he's too innocent to see how anything could go bad just because he shared it. Poor Zane, bless him :,) he definitely ended up being harassed at least once.

Cole because everybody overlooks him and I'm disappointed /hj

Okay this man is autistic. Tell me otherwise. Tell me otherwise right now. Like have you seen him.

He's very closed off about being autistic. I feel like Lou was definitely not very accommodating of it and encouraged him to mask n stuff, (which btw can lead to a huge number of anxiety and self worth issues later down the line, so do not force people to mask).

There's a lot of stigma associated with autistic people that I feel like Cole definitely wouldn't enjoy, so he keeps it pretty tight under wraps and tries to mask when he can.

He especially doesn't like telling people he knows because he doesn't want a close friend to potentially start treating him like an infant or helpless, or assume he has no emotions or starting to distance themselves from him.

He hid it from the Ninja for the first few seasons. Around after S4-5 when he and Jay had become close again he decided to tell him. I feel like he was jealous or impressed by how open Jay is in comparison (we'll get to him in a moment) and how accepting the others were. Jay's reaction is easily summed up as *HAPPY NEURODIVERGENT SOLIDARITY SCREAMING* but also "I feel stupid for not connecting the dots" and then they went from bffs to... also bffs. But now they get to make adhd and autism jokes together.

Jay helped him be more comfortable and feel more confident in himself and he finally told the other Ninja after DotD because he ended up experiencing several massive sensory overloads at some point, since being autistic made it so that the issues you'd have from finally being able to touch things after a year or two would've been amplified ten fold, so he kinda had to tell them because it stuck around for several weeks.

He still isn't very public about it towards strangers, but he's getting better about feeling comfortable with it himself and not, yknow, experiencing social anxiety 24/7 around his friends.

He's definitely on like the mild-mid end of the spectrum. He doesn't need too many accommodations, but he does experience sensory issues and might need alternative explanations for some things.

He's usually pretty closed off when he first gets to know somebody, but overtime when he does get to know them and becomes comfortable with them he gets pretty social and sarcastic with them, which doesn't always go well since he can't tell when someone gets legitimately hurt or offended or when it's just part of the joke, so being more public about it with his friends has made it so they can communicate better with that type of stuff :D

...You may notice that this one is substantially longer than the rest and the reason for that is because I'm autistic so I feel more confident about writing about an autistic character. And also because autistic Cole makes me feel represented because way too many autistic characters are either robots (which is fine, but one of my symptoms is I have difficult to relate to those types of characters) or very stereotypical. So.

I try to keep the others shorter because I don't trust myself as much with those LOL.

Also he may be colorblind, but he's not sure.

Uhh Jay

Yeah

He has adhd, probably a comorbidity too like OCD or smthn. He's in the very hyperactive group, and he's pretty public about it because he feels comfortable with who he is and doesn't really care if some idiot takes issue with it (or well, pretends like he doesn't care, except he actually does)

season 6 thoughts and reflections lets go baby

I'd just like to start out by saying this last like 2 months I've been watching season 6 have been like the craziest of my life, like I graduated college and I'm now living on a farm on the opposite side of the country, so like my recollection of this season isn't the best. AND ALSO this season was sooooo all over the place so its fitting I guess.

Okay, I'm not gonna be the first person to say this but season 6 was uhhhhh kinda weird guys! But I can proudly say I didn't hate it. there were PARTS of it I hated very very deeply. but overall I think there was some real good in it. This season did not have so much of an overarching plot, it had like SEVERAL plots going on. I think this maybe could have been done well but it wasn't. PLOT NUMBER ONE: buffy comes back wrong which makes her have sex with spike. I honestly HATED this. every Spuffy conversation was the exact same thing in this season and it all went NOWHERE. i swear every episode they would have the most word salad nonsensical conversation that always went pretty much like Buffy saying that despite having sex with him she hates spike and then spike responding like "whhhatttt no that cant be true". Ugh I was seriously so sick of it. When we learn that Buffy went to heaven after she died and actually DIDN'T want to come back that was like a really interesting direction to take things. but then they like kinda did nothing with that other then like Buffy being depressed all the time. Which is fine but like don't you think this leaves great potential for Buffy to relearn why the world is awesome? shouldn't this have created great great drama between her and Willow, the person who brought there back? they like slightly tried to work with these things but also didn't. and instead focused soooo much time on spuffy. like okay. PLOT NUMBER TWO: Xander and Anya divorce arc. I actually liked this plot point honestly. It was a very interesting exploration of both their characters and I feel like it made them both feel real. I liked Xanders nervousness leading up to the wedding and Anyas sort of ignorance in thinking they were gonna live happily ever after even tho we as the audience know that things will not end well. And I liked when Anya slept with Spike, it was just the kinda good drama you can really get into. PLOT NUMBER THREE: Willows magic addiction. I don't know this really could have been something. like it was so close to not being incredibly stupid but then it was. The issue is they decided half way through to treat her drug addiction like it was 1 to 1 a drug addiction which literally made like. no sense. Willow does not seem like the type to ever get into like heroin or something. I feel like the reason a lot of people to drugs is for the escape, but Willow was actually in a somewhat stable and happy place in her life? what makes much much more sense and what they almost did was have her addicted to the POWER that comes with magic. like this is good and real and not stupid. and they kinda did this but they also kind of had it be a drug thing? also this arc kinda culminated in Tara dying and therefore I hate it by default. PLOT NUMBER FOUR: whatever the fuck was going on with the trio. I thought this was funny and good honestly. I like the trio and villains because its like. not every evil is a supernatural demon. sometimes the most evil forced in the world are stupid virgin loser nerd guys. and like brother that is so true. in real life incel men ARE some of the most deeply evil and horrible people you will ever meet. So I'm glad they went there and also the trio just was genuinely funny in a sit com big bang theory type of way.

Also i just have to say, Giles leaving was REALLLYYYY a major hit to the show and a driving factor of why it wasn't as good. I really felt his absence, sure since season 3 he hasn't had so much to do, but the group NEEDS him. he's like the straight man/ responsible adult and person who puts a end to the lame bullshit. idk he's just the anchor of the whole show i think, he keeps the thing grounded. and without him we were just floating about nonsensically. And while I'm being a hater, I think the dialogue in this season was just awful. I have a lot of thoughts on "buffy speak" and how it can actually be really great if done correctly. in this season, it was done badly. it was way too much and all of the time and just plain stupid. oh and also, THIS IS THE SEASON WHERE AMY GETS UNRATTED. which is awesome if you are me specifically, so shout out to that plot point. I'm trying to think of something else positive to say about this season but uh, I really can't. Okay I suppose what I can say is that it had potential. Like it could have been really interesting, and I can imagine a version of it in my head, with a few tweaks, that would actually be great. I won't even say it was almost there, it was far from there, but that's almost better I think. If something is really close to being great and they fumble it, that's usually like, way worse. but If its bad enough, then its like kinda camp. And by the end of it, this season truly was camp. I hate dark willow, I think it's stupid as hell, but when Dark Willow and Giles started to have a Super Saiyan anime type battle of magic, that was lowkey iconic. like fuck it, remember the nerdy girl and old man librarian from season 1? well they are both shooting at each other with beams of light now and destroying the whole damn building. That's camp bitch, they truly didn't give a fuck anymore. Oh, and of course, as a Willow and Xander best friend forever applicator I love the resolution of the finale. Like literally love and friendship saved the whole entire world, bitch. OKAY

EPISODES I LIKE:

All The Way: I just love Dawnie so a Dawn centric episode yessssssss and I just love to see her be such a angsty teenager while also being a huge dork cuz all 15 year olds are just like that. This episode had such early season energy and I love that

Once more with feeling: duhhhhh okay duh. DUHHH.

Tabula Rasa: oh boy this episode. its sooooooo its SOOOOO. like i busted a gut laughing and then it just ended SO TERRIBLY. but whatever I can still appreciate the hijinx of everyone losing their memory

Double Meat Palace: literally iconic and genuinely good I don't care what anyone says. GREAT atmospheric episode that genuinely gave me chills are points. THIS EPISODE WAS GREAT AND NOT EVEN THAT STUPID YALL JUST DONT GET IT. its literally about the horror of mediocrity and excepting that you'll never be anything more then a cog in the machine

Hell's Bells: SOOOO much in this episode. SOOO MUCH. like some truly funny bits and some things that are just gut-wrenching. It's like such a train wreck but like if a train full of clowns is what got wrecked.

Entropy: iconic freak media. And I love Anya okay.

Worst episodes:

Wrecked: the downfall of the season, the moment I realized that all my hopes and dreams for the plots they were setting up were going absolutely no where. and Spike and Buffy fucking so hard they break down an entire house is DUMBBBBBB

Gone: wtf even was this episode. BUFFY ACTS SOOOO FUCKING OOC HERE IT"S INSANE. i hated watching this actually it was bad

As You Were: to be honest with you, this one is SOOOOO bad that it's almost iconic. Like this has to actually be the worst episode of BTVS I have ever seen. I didn't even feel like I was watching btvs in this moment, it felt like some other horrible show. but like its Riley man. it's literally the episode where Riley comes back and I expect none the less.

Characters:

No one new to talk about other then the trio, who I said I really liked. I'm glad to hear Andrew will be in season 7 cuz I think he's great. It's funny that the show is like. he's very obviously supposed to be closeted but we aren't gonna say anything about it cuz if we did then we can't be homophobic to him. Also everyone is sleeping on the trio toxic yaoi which is literally canon. its so canon and no one cares. literally that scene where Andrew is crying after Warren ditched him and hes like "I though he loved... hanging out with me!" (obviously about to say "I thought he loved me") like Andrew being Warrens little minion cuz he was in closeted gay love with him when his boy Johnathan was there for him all along,,, who he was really meant to be with... guys the angest the hurt comfort the. I'm not insane listen to me get back here.

My final opinions on the quarry characters because why not

Laura: a bit trigger happy but shes badass and I love her. Scary women <3. Bestie still needs to understand the difference between calling and leaving a message. The most badass character, carried the team tbh.

Max: sweet himbo, I love him. He's doing his best. I love him and Laura and their scary strong woman x malewife. I loved his crop top fit and how much he cares about Laura.

Emma: I thought she was kind of mean at first but once she opened up I loved her. Girlboss. Wouldn't have flirted with Jacob and sent mixed signals. I ended up thinking she was really cool tho and I related to wanting to be entertaining and flamboyant for the sake of others.

Jacob: he's so, so stupid. I thought I'd hate him at first. But I think hes doing his best. He really liked Emma and he didn't know there were fucking werewolves. He has no critical thinking skills I love him. Seeing him cry and express his emotions as a jock was really cute and I liked that about him.

Abi: I wish she had more to do because she was so sweet and I loved her. I wish she had more scenes and was more useful to the team. My favorite tbh. I loved her little eeeeee and she was adorable the whole time. Plus I loved her style.

Ryan: this man does not deserve the hate he gets. I loved him and his relationship with Dylan. He has a monotone voice and doesn't understand sarcasm and same. And autistic comrade.

Dylan: also my favorite. He's literally so funny and carried the game. Every scene he's in is immediately better because of it. Him and Ryan have my whole heart. He actually cares and hides behind his sarcasm and me too tbh.

Kaitlyn: ALSO my favorite, she's so cool I love her. She has the one brain cell they all share. I trust her with my life. I like kinda mean short people who are the most badass in a group of tall people. She's so supportive of Dylan liking the same guy as her. The fact that every let's play I see calls her tiny is hilarious to me as me and Brenda Song are the same height.

Nick: I thought he was really sweet and funny and I wish we got more time with him before he became a wolf and we never see him again. Thought he was really cool honestly but he wasn't in the game enough for me to get as attached to him.

Travis: I still think he's unnecessarily creepy but I apologize for calling him so many names. He didn't deserve that he's just trying to protect his family and not get yelled at by his bitch ass mom.

Bobby: I think there was a lot of potential for him to be used more. I thought he was really funny and there was a lot of potential for him as a sloth esc character who is a good person who's just trying to help a toxic family that doesn't respect him.

Chris: I'm still sad we got so little scenes of him. I thought it would be cool to explore his father figure role at the camp and I thought he seemed like a good dude who cared about he kids and wanted to keep him safe. Wanted more content of him tbh. I thought he was really cool. Maybe it's just the daddy issues but I wanted more of the father figure man taking care of the children

I’ve been in the Billy community a long time before I became active online. But I’ve noticed more people are starting to grasp the criticism Billy Hargrove fans make of the show and fanbase. Not everyone tho there’s still a dubious amount of hate and harassment thrown at marginalized creators in the Billy fanbase. Especially racism thrown at BIPOC Billy fans like myself who don’t fit into the fandoms stereotypical racist monolithic assumptions about BIPOC fans in the Stranger things fandom. But I was wondering if you had any ideas to why that could be? Since you’re outspoken about how it took some time for you to empathize with Billy’s character. I’ve kinda just accepted I don’t understand where this shift is coming from I started to just become content with the abuse I faced online for liking Billy Hargrove as a character and knowing that Netflix’s knows this shit happens but they’d probably never speak out against it being to afraid to upset their market audience. I kinda acquired this “Boo hoo 😭” attitude around me connecting to this character’s story and getting hate for it but I’m glad to see more understanding around how a person like me can like him. I’m still angry tho. But I got anger issues.

I made a joke about this on my main blog before... how I hate characters because I would want to fight them in a parking lot, but not in the way where I think I am objectively better than people who like them or something like that.

It's okay to hate characters, but nowadays people turn dislike into a performance of morality. They're not honest about their hate, and they're not much interested in confronting that because they're so convinced they're right.

I think these people just want to be seen as better than everyone else. I think there are people who use "the right language" to perform morality without having to commit to questioning real systems of oppression or their own role in it.

It's why they'll call out Billy's racism, but do nothing to confront the racism within the overall narrative or the racism informing the narrative on the outside (i.e. the way the biases of the showrunners influence the way characters of color are treated).

It takes hard work to confront your own biases and work towards a better society. I struggle all the time managing my emotions and saying/doing the right thing when someone says or does something not great to me. Every day I struggle!

It is hard to not hold a grudge and to not want a severe institutional consequence for harm done, but I have been trying for years now to empathize with the pain and suffering people go through regardless if they're A Good PersonTM.

That being said, this is fandom. Fandom and the participation in it is not inherently activism. Liking the "right" content doesn't translate to doing the right thing for society. There are politics in stories, yes, but being in fandom isn't revolutionary.

I don't know if that answers your question, but I hope it helps. I didn't like Billy at first. I did think he was a brat (still do) and I found some of his behavior repulsive (still do). However, I never thought he deserved what happened to him. Ever.

Ok first of all: I see a lot of critics say they were disappointed that the events of the film weren't actually s*pernatural and this irritates me a lot BECAUSE. That would be super anticlimactic. The entire film is them going "woooo~ there's a ghost~" so what did they want? "yes it was a ghost of a little child. just like you thought it was. spooky shit eh?" Like. Ok.

I literally watched the film knowing the entire plot (because I always read horror film synopsis' before watching them because I'm baby please do not judge me thank you) and the twist was still impactful. I knew he was in them damn walls and yet when the house started banging and the lights flickering I was like "OOOHHH SHIT" because it was literally so well done.

I don't take criticism on this film anyway because I love it so much and I think it's fantastic - but this is the criticism that bothers me the most. They literally out here wishing the film was more boring.

AND. I reckon was this kinda criticism that led to the absolute shitshow of a sequel. It was rubbish, it went back on multiple things established in the first one, it didn't really make sense, it was silly: I did not like the sequel at all even a little bit. But for some reason people wanted the doll to be actually haunted?? That's boring!!! It wasn't scary even when the doll actually was evil scary ghosty that was evil and hurt people and was evil. It looked gross I'll give em that, but boy Annabelle just didn't fit with what the first film succeeded at like at all.

I love Brahms to pieces (hence the url) and I will defend everything he does. HOWEVER. the reveal that it was him moving stuff around and causing havoc was Much scarier in the context of the rest of the film than a doll possessed by the spirit of some dead kid. You could (and people have) make a film about a possessed doll very easily that would be scary - but for the story that The Boy told up to that point, the twist was absolutely perfect in making it a horror. Simply confirming what had been assumed/implied from the start would just be. Eh.

I WILL say tho, the twist does make it a one-time-consumable film in terms of scariness. Like it is substantially scarier when you don't know he's there and then it's revealed. I still enjoyed it to the point where it's my favourite film now, but I appreciate that the spookiness is lost quite a bit when you know why shits going down. Not to say Brahms isn't a creepy lil guy in his own right tho <3

But yeah. This is a strong opinion that I have. Not just because I love Brahms' character, but because I just genuinely believe this criticism is so dumb. That's all.

Jjba Diamond is Unbreakable Ep. 8-16 Thoughts

Ep. 8-9

Yukako has so many issues god bless

I've taken a liking to her design. Her color scheme goes together well, her hair has a lot of character and I do like the rose emblem on her outfit.

Her stand, Love Deluxe, plays the prehensile hair trope straight, other than her ability to control her hair even when it is not attached to her scalp. I like the name but I find this type of stand boring to be honest.

I'm not really interested in Yukako as a character, unless she gets something more later on. The funniest thing they can do is pair her and Koichi together. "Me and my girl don't argue, she tells me to shup up and I do" and such.

Josuke and Okuyasu were nice this episode. We learn that Crazy Diamond can't bring back anything The Hand deletes. Just goes to show how opposite their powers are.

Koichi is not really my cup of tea. I appreciate him being part of the group but solo episodes with him don't really interest me. Plus his voice is incredibly grating in both sub and dub. It's interesting that he set up that rock so that Yukako wouldn't die, you gotta be really confident that you'll win if you are worrying about the safety of your opponent.

Hey, Koichi with the new hair kinda looks like... No I shan't say it.

Let's talk about Echoes. My boy. My lil man. Look at his lil smile :) My favourite stand from part 4 so far. It seems to emote on its own sometimes, like Star Platinum who smiles every time it gets a chance to beat someone up. I like it when stands emote on their own. The fanworks do this a lot but jjba itself rarely does it. Which is a shame.

Ep. 10

This is just 20 minutes of Okuyasu having nice things happen to him and I think that's just great. If I had so say my one gripe (and be a killjoy), it would be that it doesn't tell us much about Okuyasu and Josuke that we don't already know. The best thing about filler is that it gives us characterization and I don't think this episode has enough of that.

Okuyasu and Josuke fighting reminded me of the Death 13 episode except Polnareff was infinitely more stubborn

Also this is a great time to just give the VAs the biggest shout out cuz wow I love them. Especially Okuyasu I love the way he says Josuke. It brings me joy. They are perfect fits for the characters they are playing. I can hear Tonio's accent but I know fuck all about Japanese so It might be horrible, not my problem tho.

Ep 11 - 12

I think Tomoko is one of my favourite female Jojo characters so far. The bar is on the ground, but, you know. Take what you can get.

I don't get why they added that scene with Josuke at the start. It doesn't really add anything.

I think the funniest thing in episode 11 is Koichi and Okuyasu just going through it and the Jojos not giving a shit. I hate the Joestars so much it's unreal. It did struck me as a bit weird. It's not at all weird for Jotaro (Have you seen the stardust crusaders? They told Polnareff they lied about Avdol's death to him and then they had the audacity to go "I didn't think you'd be this hurt"), It does feel a bit off for Josuke though.

Jotaro smiling as he says Jospeh could die is amazing. Of course he would.

I didn't think about what Red Hor Chili Pepper's stand user would look like but I am definitely not dissapointed in Akira. Personality wise he is insanely boring but I do like his design.

Okuyasu looking at his own hand as he thanks Koichi was a nice touch.

I like how they handled Joseph. Obviously Josuke is not gonna be amazed to see him but It wouldn't go with his personality if he was antagonistic either.

Ep 13

I don't like how different the japanese VA of Joseph sounds when he is yelling. English VA doesn't have this issue but it's also was the weakest of the sdc cast imo. No winning with this one.

Ep 14 - 15

The first episode is just set up. It does that job pretty well though. Really makes Rohan seem insane. I mean, he *is*.

Rohan relating everything to art and writing isn't even that off from how most artists think tbh. Writers will see a documentary about the most disturbing shit they have ever seen and they will go "That will make my writing about this part more accurate".

And Rohan'a advice is actually pretty good. Like, draw with references. Draw from reality. Base your characters on people who you know, instead of like, just taking from your favourite artisans. Anyways,

Rohan's stand is called the Heaven's Door. Firstly, It's a really cute stand. Secondly, this thing is busted. It'd be one thing if looking at a draft was the only way for it to work but touching you with his stand also works. And he can knock someone unconcious when unfurling them. Add on that the insane speed he has for no reason and honestly we should just be glad this guy isn't a villain. He is just weird and offputting.

I fucking love episode 15. The pay off is amazing. I love that Okuyasu and Josuke notice something small like a cut on his hand and immediately help him. I love that Rohan opens Josuke's eyes by insulting his hair. And then he just. keeps. going.

Josuke being literary so blinded by rage that he doesn't see the draft? Amazing. He absolutely destroyed that place. And threw a fucking chair at Okuyasu and Koichi. This show is pretty funny when it wants to be.

The story of his hair was really sweet. The guy helping them seems to be a student like the current day Josuke too.

Ep 16

The art style for this episode looks different from normal and I have no idea why. The style is ussually pretty consistent. You can see the gums in their teeth it's strange.

Jotaro gets a slight outfit change. I like the colors and the tilted belts. I'm not sure on the new jacket. I liked that they used the collar of his shirt to give the same vibe as his part 3 outfit insead of just giving him a jacket exactly like his old one. His new jacket is a bit dissapointing. I like dolphins. I'm not sure what they were trying to do with the triangle and the sun. Overall, I like the older one just a bit more. I would love it if he kept changing outfits like this tho.

It's something that Jotaro can't seem to seperate Star Platinum's time stop ability from Dio. Like, that's Star Platinum's power.

As funny as seeing Jotaro get his ass beat by a Twitch looking ass rat is, It's also shows what I like about stands. I know Jotaro is holding back here, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a bad machup for him. So you don't need to nerf him in ordert to create conflict. Stands are good against combatting power creep, is what I'm saying.

Love Crazy Diamond popping up out of nowhere just to look sad. Don't look at me with them big ol' eyes.

Ep. 17

I think one thing part 4 is good at is the character dynamics. Rohan and Koichi was fun to watch. Rohan grinning at Koichi getting flustered was great. Reimi being really friendly with Rohan cuz she knew him when he was a kid is a nice bit of writing.

I made a joke post about where Kak went after death, a few people mentioned how ghosts were real and he could be like Reimi. Now I know what they are talking about.

Reimi has a nice design. Especially the choker with the hands holding on it. Speaking of hands

I know I shouldn't be laughing at the guy whose only trait so far is that he kills young girls to date their hands to satisfy his stupid fetish or something but

what even is that music. Why did they make it like that.

To close this off, I am currently on vacation with little internet access. It's a rural area so there isn't much to do. I've been spending my time writing these, slowly. Gonna take a hot minute to finish this part.

I've been also wondering if I should watch Stone Ocean before Golden Wind and get the Jotaro story over with. I'll decide that later, I dunno.

favorite thing about them

Her passion to her hobby/talent. I relate to that a lot and also find it a very interesting quirk of hers. Like other ultimates don't really lose their sleep and food to do more photos or cooking or else. Other than Ryota and that's why we kin him too. Idk makes me wonder why Nanami is the way she is

least favorite thing about them

Here's two 1) The way fandom treats her. She gets SO much hate and for what? She just wanted to play her silly games all day and have friends :( The "mary sue" treatment like yeah she's not the best written character in the series but she's fine! It's not a crime to not have a detail backstory or character. it's sad we don't have it, but it doesn't make her awful. Oh and I HATE the "waifu bait" thing!! The fact that Kodaka said in the interview that he made a character with similar hobbies as him is not the same as waifu bait! I can relate to this feeling of his and see nothing bad with it. She's not just a pretty looks and "uwu gamer girl" (she doesn't fit the stereotype at all imo) and those who think otherwise didn't really pay attention to her. And 2) How little focus she has despite her role. I wish dr3 spent some time developing her character and story. We know very little about her life before the events! And it's sad! Her behavior gives a lot of food for thought of why she's the way she is and I would love to see more canon material about it. Esp if we consider that in canon it's the real Chiaki. Not focusing on her as a person was a big mistake

Let me hug you T^T I had to rewatch that scene for this and it breaks my heart everytime. ON A BRIGHTER NOTE it's not a line but a k.o she gave Hanamura even tho she was affected by the soup. Komanami 100%. Nanami canonically has always been the only person in their class who didn't hate Komaeda at every point of the story. She has always shown compassion and support to him. hiii here r my aini thoughts !! i meant to post this when i finished it two days ago but i wanted my thoughts to marinate before i rlly had like. any concrete opinions so here we go. spoilers under the readmore:

writing:

-okay so like .. i personally rlly enjoyed a majority of story beats including the twists. like the first game, i rlly enjoyed how every character is interconnected in some way, from chikara and tokiko being the parents of jin furue and experimenting on him and uru to chikara experimenting on three major characters, mizuki, bibi and shoma.

-amame going from a side character in the first game to the culprit in second game is just??? HELLO?4/$;!$2 in the best way ofc. i love a good revenge plot. hate how they arrested her tho,, god forbid women do anything

-i know some ppl have mixed thoughts on ryuki but i personally adore him fjshdjw i love his gay little crush on date. i don't ship them personally but yeah <3 i do wish that he was more involved w the story more?? like why just play as him in his route then completely throw him away in favor of mizuki only for him to have a rushed arc from date's motivational speech. WHERES HIS RECOVERY ARC I NEED IT ..... THEY DID HIM SO DIRTY

-speaking of which his and tama's dynamic is rlly good i preferred it over mizuki/aiba's. i do think it's kinda confusing tho bc she's meant to be a concerned mother figure to make up for his lack of one but also does like ??? kinky shit to him??? unless that's a joke idk

-also the death scare my behated. why did they do that. whyd they make me cry only for him to be brought back 😭

-mizuki is my daughter and i found her whole explanation for her strength rlly interesting but why overshadow ryuki,, Why

-i think the whole thing w the flowchart was cool but??? confusing af like there r still some things that don't exactly fit in line when u realize the mizuki we were playing as isn't okiura-date, but mizuki kuranushi/bibi

gameplay:

-the somniums r fun as always but also RLLY FRUSTRATING LIKE HELLO 😭 a lot of them play off of metaphors so sometiems it was hard for me to like. do things in a specific amount of time but i'm glad i was able to pull thru without a walkthru, esp since for the most part, i couldn't as the games still new. tokiko and chikara's somniums my behated

-i rlly rlly enjoy the new vr investigations, and having the characters investigate the crime scene and reenact it while in a space that allows u to not miss any details

-the scenes where u hafta like use specific commands to fight back against for example, naix members was Hell on switch. esp since my controllers drift often and i wasn't able to input the command the first time. also the fact that u hafta start the cutscene all over again 🥲

characters

-i mentioned the characters briefly in the previous sections but i rlly enjoyed seeing the returning characters w a fresh new coating of paint. the timeskip designs r rlly good as well

-the new chars r also rlly compelling and they managed to make a majority of side characters major key players in the story and im sure that's good news for a majority of side character likers

-as much as i miss date as a protag, i think his placement in the story as just some dude tryna ruin tearer's plan behind the scenes fits him fsr

-the only character i honestly hated was lien like i thought his whole thing abt not being a locksmith anymore ajd redeeming himself was fine but why???? him falling in love w a high schooler and somehow managing to get w her six years later even tho he literally STALKED her. it would have been fine if they knew each other after the timeskip ajd he didn't pull all that shit but noooooo. gen and amame's dynamic is alos super weird for the same reason like he sees her as a daughter but is??? in love w her???? wtf :[

soundtrack

-OH YEAH THERE R SOME RLLY GOOD TRACKS IN THIS GAME. specifically clue investigation, off the record, insane president, naix's intentions, sweet home, swinging fear, residence limo, recognized secrets, and distortion instigating

-i do think the first game's ost is better but idk i do think a lot of songs stick out

misc

-like the first game i'm soooo confused abt date's whole thing w iris and mizuki?? like iris is initially the person he saw as his daughter and now it's mizuki which is fine but like ... iris being his daughter during his life as falco was never mentioned in the second game which. makes sense as it's a spoiler but still. why cant they both be his daughters and have it so that he lives w mizuki and iris lives w hitomi like how it is w amame and shoma. it's pretty clear that he still has a thing w her

-a lot of times my game was crashing which i guess is typical for a new game but ??? i rlly hope this fix this if i ever go for a replay

-i figured w date no longer the protag, there'd be less anime bullshit/sex jokes/weird age gaps but i guess not :[ like whys there two possible relationships that involve a high schooler and an adult (even in the context of the time skip, it's weird as they met them as high schoolers) and moma still being weird towards iris like. Why

overall thoughts

despite the many critiques i have abt the game, i do think it's a rlly good sequel. is it better than the first game? i don't think so, but i still enjoyed it and any critique of the game i've seen so far has been warranted. i just hope that if there's ever a sequel, they answer specific questions (ex. mizuki's real parents), don't prioritize certain characters that leads to other characters not being as fleshed out, and tone down the horny bullshit. 9/10 may play again

HIIII BESTIE IM ALIVE ITS SCOOB AND SHAG ANON!!! I *JUST* READ THE NEW CHAPTER AND WOOOOO WE WERE RIGHT (MINUS SCOOB MISSING HIS MEMORIES BIT)!!! This does bring up a few things though:

1. We can now VERY clearly see the glass(?) box surrounding whoever gets transported to the Being's world! This kinda gives us a better view of whats going on, and i really wanna draw attention to the fact that the 'screen' behind scoob shows us the PANEL of the comic previous to it, not what Scoob is seeing. Im seriously buying into the idea that the characters get ballyhoo only from us and not the humans from their world but it might just be how the beings are experiencing all this too.

2. IM BACK TO THE COLORED DIAMOND SHAPES AGAIN. THEYRE IN THE SKY NOW. Also now that i think about it, the fact that a TV of all things has that star shape kinda fits with the fact that tv colors are related to the stars. I am aware i am currently wearing a tinfoil hat.

3. How much DOES Scoob know?? With the clear(er) look at Scoob and Illapa's relationship we can guess that Scoob is WELL aware of the deal he made and that he has some memories remaining. Illapa talks to Scoob like he remembers clearly the terms of the deal, and it just makes me wonder what Scoob remembers.

4. Just something to note, it feels like all of the color beings so far have given their gift 'freely'. Magenta is the most obvious sort of, but Illapa gave Scoob a part of their power for free which i find interesting. Maybe its just a plan to get Scoob in a bad situation and accept the deal completely? Additionally i saw someone mention that Magenta speaks like this is the first time shes intervened despite Bugs being pretty much confirmed to be aligned with Magenta.

5. Im gonna change the whole "Cyan is memories" thing since theyre obviously a storm god, i think theyre just tied to emotions. Maybe the beings are drawn to extremes in general? Makes sense since Deedee was experiencing extreme loss and love for family, Mick was experiencing extreme loss of control, and Scoob was watching his friends die in front of him (a historically emotional thing to happen, so im told). I also kinda think Magenta is being reaaall sus now that i think about it more, it feels like the beings are all getting their pawns in place and Magenta is really just gunning it lmao. I honestly feel like Illapa is at least the most honest, saying that they want something from Scoob.

LIKE I WAS LOSING MY GOTDAMN MIND. as my partner can attest when i explained you and i's theories to them a bit more (tho tbh i credit you more ASDJFL; you're a lot more observant than me, i just go feral when you point out things), i was losing my shit. anyway YES i am very excited to respond to this and i also have my own observations i want to point out.

YEAH THAT WAS AN EXCITING DEVELOPMENT. i actually didn't notice the panel thing until you pointed it out but HOLY FUCK.... MOM HOLY FUCK- YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!!! LOSING MY GOTDAMN MIND HERE. i really think you're onto something with the idea that ballyhoo comes from the readers of the comic. it feels like the exact kind of meta angle this comic would go for, and i also think it plays well into the themes. especially because, at this point, all cartoons are off the air in-universe--where could the ballyhoo be coming from now? (unless i misunderstood something about how it works lol)

I DON'T HAVE MUCH TO ADD HERE BUT I WAS VERY EXCITEDLY POINTING AT THE SCREEN WHILE READING THIS CHAPTER WHEN I NOTICED THAT PART. also i want you to know that i am wearing a matching tinfoil hat. i also don't know anything about u or what you look like aside from scoob and shag but i want you to know i doodled us in matching tin foil hats <3 i drew u as the anon bubble and gave you dog ears b/c scoob and shag. yeah <3 i'll put it at the end of the post

YEAH I'M REALLY WONDERING ABOUT THIS... my first assumption was that, when he activated the cyan ballyhoo for the first time, that's when he got his memories back. we didn't get his full perspective on that moment, we only got shag's--what i'm thinking is that the flashbacks we saw in that moment were VERY intentional. it's interesting to me, though, that scoob knows what he's getting into more than deedee, even though it seems the deals were made under similar circumstances (extreme duress). which tells me either illapa just explains things more than magenta (very likely), or maybe scoob knew more about this going in, or perhaps he's had time since then to TALK to illapa. their dialogue implies they've had a number of conversations, imo.

yeah this is also something i'm coming back to a bunch. like... magenta's dialogue implied that they aren't SUPPOSED to be doing this, but now we have two examples of these beings giving some level of power away with nothing expected in return. i'm inclined to believe, though, that this is more a case of what you said, that illapa was trying to get scoob into a position where he'd be more likely to accept their deal regardless. also that's an interesting observation too, though i think it implies less that that's the first time magenta gave their powers to someone and more that they're not MEANT to give their powers freely, or perhaps they're not meant to give their gifts to multiple people. many questions!

oh i absolutely agree with you, and i'm very intrigued. i actually went a bit feral over this in dms with my partner lol, but i'll just summarize here. the main thing i honed in on was illapa's earrings, and i went back to look at magenta and red to see their earrings. unfortunately, i noticed that, the one time we've seen red so far (in the mick update) we couldn't see any earrings. HOWEVER. magenta has earrings we can look at. assuming that the earrings correlate roughly with the exact nature of each entity's gifts (illapa's being 'storm' and having lightning earrings, for example), i'm fascinated by the implications of magenta's sun and moon earrings. when i first saw them i thought that was just a fun design choice, but now i'm curious what it implies about their abilities. we've seen magenta's gift in action with two characters now (bugs and deedee), but i'm not sure on the connection with the sun and moon yet. also this is a sidenote but i looked back at the update with magenta and i saw dee is referred to as a "subject" and a "trainee" on the little panel thing HELLO?? ok gonna think about THAT for a bit!!!! i think it's possible the entities are drawn to extremes, absolutely, and i'm gonna be a lil cynical and suggest that this is because people in extreme situations are more likely to make a deal. the entities have an agenda here and i think that's obvious, but what that agenda is just yet is unclear. yeah no i agree magenta is, pardon the meme lingo, looking a little sussy baka rn!!!! (i'm sorry my friend jane says that sometimes and it's rubbed off on me) i actually respect illapa a lot rn based on what we've seen of them, because yeah. they seem to be upfront and honest, even if their intentions are likely a bit dubious. i agree though that i think the beings' agenda is slowly starting to move, and they're all getting their pieces on the board. i'm curious how this is going to play out and how much we've guessed or picked up on this time hehe.
