Here it is everybody, my first entry for Sonic Platonic Fairytales week. I'll be updating the fic and the tags as the week goes along, although I can't promise it'll be on time every time.

Warning, some of these stories may get a bit dark (like, for example, the first story, which has mentions of amputation and mutilation) although I never go into explicit detail. Anything gory or otherwise will only be told in the form of passing mentions or implications.

And, obviously, they all include friendship and comfort, because I'm a sucker for that sort of stuff (And also that's the entire point of the week).

The Ballroom

The happy times caress my cheeks yet hold me at arms length. We dance until the music stops, because in my world, it always stops. And once again I feel the cool embrace of depression on my skin.

Depression doesn't linger

Depression is all consuming

Depression grips me tight and sways to her own rhythm. There is no music so depression creates her own. I cannot escape.

Occasionally she will hand me off to another emotion. Happy, love, anxious. They all get their turn. But her favourite is anger.

Anger resembles depression. They're often extreme and latch on, never wanting to be out of the spot light.

But, time and time again I am back in depression's arms, endlessly dancing, and I know I will never escape this ballroom.
