I liked when we made up our own mythology for the boring stuff we saw during our day as kids. For me, whenever I saw tile, I saw a lion face in it. So I imagined that Hercules got into a fight with a lion that would menace a town at the bottom of a mountain and they would always have to rebuild it. So Hercules came to help and fought the lion at the top of the mountain while the town was finally rebuilt and the cement was drying, when Hercules tossed the lion off the mountain he was tossed with such strength that he was totally obliterated and left an indelible mark in the cement and in order to keep him trapped in there, whenever you pour cement, you have to pay homage to the lion.
