David Tennant would be proud" and people were taking photos under it and stuff but then the homophobes showed up and burned David Tennant and we were all crying and shouting "THAT'S NEIL GAIMANS JOB"

I, being all neurodivergent and shit, got bored in a store while my mom was busy trying to shop god knows what, and started arranging the shelves.

I also did it because a lot of kids were messing with them and I love kids but I hate when they're left unsupervised to do stuff like that. One was even getting out of the store while her mother screamed for her. I stopped her because, well, I love kids and she wasn't older than, like, five.

Whatever, I arranged for almost an hour, I think. I was into it. I've worked in customer service, I knew where things were supposed to go, whatever. When I finally hear my mother's call (like, two hours later, what was she even doing?) and look up, there's at least five employees looking at me like my hair has turned a bold shade of bright neon green and horns are growing out of my scalp. I smile at them. They look bewildered. I go and reunite with my mother (she was shopping for Christmas gifts. We don't even really celebrate Christmas in my country?)

While we're checking out, one of the previous workers approaches me and gives me, like, five of those small testing tubes of lipstick and tells the cashier that I can have them, they're a gift.

I leave, carrying what felt like a sack of potatoes and fifteen bricks. Two of them hurry to help me and walk us to our car, and smile a lot at me. I smile back. My mom does, too, even if somewhat confused.

So, the message here is, be kind and help people, and people will be kind and help you back. I think. I just wanted to share, but let's give it a meaning.

ngl one of the most useful things i’ve internalized from doing art online is never tell people what to criticize. don’t preemptively apologize for things or point out where you think you fumbled, it’s just priming people to notice minor issues that might not actually matter and hit you where you’re sensitive and throw you off your game. don’t tell people your weak points. if it’s a genuine problem they’ll point it out

I remember a time when I was in 6th grade we had a creative writing assignment to do for English. Needless to say I was absolutely jazzed for this and hammered it out In about a day. It was a fairly gory and descriptive horror story. After next parent teacher conference my mom came home and told me that her and my English teacher had had a conversation about my writing. I panicked, I wasn’t exactly a well behaved kid and I swore I was gonna get suspended. Nope. My English teacher had shared this story with all her coworkers because she thought is was good. The entire faculty of the 5th grade had read this story I wrote unbeknownst to me. And LIKED IT????!?? I got an A and was extremely proud of myself.
