ミ★ genre: fluff, humor
ミ★ warnings: mentions of nerf guns and shooting with foam bullets, brief and i mean brief mention of sex
ミ★ word count: 1,473
ミ★ pairings: joshua x female reader
ミ★ notes: hi guys! this was requested by my luvie @jos-hua ! lia, i hope you still like this even tho i made it into a giant ass... nerf war... hehe. make sure to check out her work too, she’s really good at writing <333 and i love her <333 thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Tumblr media
Joshua watches as you check your surroundings for the enemy, you give him a thumbs up once the coast is clear and you both dash for the bushes. Once you guys make it, you pull out your phone to check for Jeonghan’s location.
“Where is he?” Joshua whispers, looking around with wide eyes to make sure no one’s around. You curse to yourself once you realize he turned it off, having already assumed you’d check for it later. However, your eyebrows perk up in interest once you take notice of Chan’s location, “The flag is at the end of the street by the bushes, Chan was put in charge of it.”
You and Joshua are in an intense game of capture the flag with the rest of the group. Instead of physically tagging once you’re in enemy territory, the fourteen of you brought nerf guns to shoot each other. Almost half of your team is in jail right now, but you also have half of Jeonghan’s team in your prison.
which is your garage but shhh
You, Joshua, Seokmin and Minghao are the last ones in your team that haven’t gotten caught yet. Mingyu, Seungcheol and Jihoon got pelted by nerf bullets in their attempt to capture the flag. From what you know, Minghao is currently hiding out behind a garbage bin with the guys in his sight. He’s just waiting for the right time to go for a jailbreak since Jun won’t stop guarding it. While Seokmin is standing by your prisoners just in case someone from Jeonghan’s team decides to run in.
Then there’s you and Joshua, already in Jeonghan’s territory hiding behind a bush. You both ran in pretty easily without getting any attention from Seungkwan and Jun, but your real problem lies with Jeonghan and Chan. Those two are an unstoppable duo when it comes to games, but you and Joshua are impenetrable.
it’s a battle of the game gods.
“You ready to run in babe?” You ask, an excited smile taking over your features as you turn back to look at your boyfriend. His blonde hair is slightly wet from sweat, and his white shirt clings to his body. It is quite a sight but you won’t let that distract you. that’s a goddamn lie.
Joshua gives you a smirk, “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
You both run out of the bushes, heading towards the end of the street when nerf bullets begin to get shot at you. You and Joshua tuck yourselves behind a car, preparing your ammo when you hear Mingyu and Seungcheol begin shouting Minghao’s name. You peek over the hood of the car, finding Minghao shooting back at Jun and actually hitting him in the head.
“JAILBREAK!” Minghao yells, slamming his hand on the mailbox that was designated as their prison. Jihoon, Minghao and Mingyu scream in victory before running in your guys’ direction to help capture the flag. While Seungcheol gives you guys a thumbs up before running back to base to help Seokmin guard.
“Let’s FUCKING GO!” You shout as they get closer, and you all run towards the end of the street. Jeonghan looks up with an excited smile at the action, before he starts aiming at Mingyu.
The guys handle Jeonghan while you and Joshua run to find the hidden flag. As you get closer to the bushes, a nerf bullet zooms past your head and you look up from the ground to see Chan shooting at you both.
“Cover me!” You yell and Joshua immediately starts fighting back, preparing his ammo as he ducks to find cover behind the bushes. Eyes frantically searching for the neon yellow flag, you finally see it sticking out in a lavender flower bed.
“Yn, go!” Joshua yells and Chan casts his eyes in your direction, sporting an open-mouthed smirk as he prepares to aim at you.
You sprint in the direction of the flag, hearing Chan shout out in pain once Joshua starts shooting at him. Letting out a smile once the flag is within reach, you grab it, lifting it up out of the flower bed in victory.
“WE WON!” You scream while jumping up and down. Chan lets out a loud laugh once you start doing your winning dance, otherwise known as:
the floss. except you do it aggressively.
“FUCK YEAH!” Mingyu yells as the rest of your team runs down the street towards you guys, a tired Jeonghan and Jun following close behind.
Joshua runs up and lifts you up in a hug, and you laugh at his happy reaction. You throw your hands in the air, letting out a squeal when he sets you back down. You stare into each other's eyes for a moment before you press a quick kiss to his lips. His eyes widen at the fact that you initiated the kiss first, a blush rising to his cheeks a few seconds afterwards.
“Y-you. You kissed me first.”
“That I did.”
“That was the first time you’ve ever initiated the kiss.” Joshua gapes and you giggle at him, patting his sweaty head.
“That is indeed, true-”
“YOU GUYS ARE DATING?!” You and Joshua practically jump out of each other's hold, finding all twelve of the guys now staring at you two with wide eyes.
“Oh…”
“Shit.” Joshua finishes.
Tumblr media
“You know, I really did not expect for today to end with the guys scolding us for not telling them that we’ve been dating for five months.” Joshua nods his head, drying his damp hair with a towel as you lay on his bed, scrolling aimlessly through your instagram.
“I’m more surprised at the fact that you initiated the kiss.” You groan, covering your eyes as your boyfriend laughs at your shy reaction.
“Why do you keep bringing that up!” You whine, peeking through your hands to see Joshua smiling at you. “Cause it’s a monumental moment in our relationship. Makes me feel all warm inside.” You roll your eyes at him, going back to looking at your social media.
“But yeah, it was our fault honestly, we should’ve told them when I first asked you out.” Joshua says, bringing up the previous topic as he places his towel on a hanger.
“I mean true, but I didn’t want them to feel awkward you know? I’m glad they were so accepting of it, even if we did get scolded for an hour straight while also being taught the importance of using protection.” You mutter, placing your phone onto Joshua’s nightstand. He slips off his slippers before giving you a big smile.
He practically leaps onto the bed, wrapping his arms around you and pressing soft kisses to your neck. You giggle at the feeling, poking his stomach so that he’ll back up a bit. He leaves one last kiss before leaning back to stare at you with a happy expression on his face.
“Someone’s happy tonight.” You state and he nods his head. “How can I not be? We fucking destroyed Jeonghan’s team today, and then you kissed me. That was the most epic part of my week honestly.”
“We had an hour long lecture on why we shouldn’t have kept our relationship a secret, then got a thirty minute talk on using protection during sex.” You deadpan, and Joshua frowns at you, muttering how you’re a party pooper.
“It was still the best part of my week, protection talk or not.” Joshua tells you, and you glance at him with a teasing smile.
“Even better than our at home kbbq extravaganza?”
“Even better.”
“How can me kissing you be better than our at home kbbq?” You ask with a frown and he rolls his eyes at you.
“Because kissing you is better than eating any grilled piece of meat, yn.”
You gasp, and Joshua gasps along with you. You both stare at each other, holding your pose for a moment longer before giggling into each other's faces. Joshua lets out a sigh, staring at you contentedly. You raise an eyebrow at his expression, feeling warmth flood your cheeks at his intense gaze, “What?”
“I love you.” Joshua whispers, reaching out and tucking a stray piece of hair behind your ear. A big smile breaks out and you cover your face with your hands, letting out a little squeal. Joshua laughs at your reaction, pulling you into his chest as he strokes your back.
“I love you too.” You mumble and he closes his eyes, a small smile still gracing his features.
He rubs circles onto your back until you fall asleep with a sleepy grin on your face. Joshua pulls away slightly when he notices your breathing evening out, and he chuckles at your dopey smile.
“You’re the prettiest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on.” Joshua mutters, moving some more stray hairs away from your face. He presses a soft kiss onto your forehead, before leaning back and turning off the light.
“Sweet dreams yn.”

Killjoys Season 5: Everything You Need to Know
by Victor Stiff | July 18, 2019
"Killjoys are back!
It’s a bittersweet time to be a Killjoys fan. Space’s most electrifying sci-fi series caps off its five-season run starting this Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. ET.
Killjoys is Space’s most-watched original sci-fi program, and you can guarantee that the show is going out with a bang. After a successful third season, Killjoys was greenlit for seasons four and five. This gave the show’s producers a two-year window to wrap up the story in the most satisfying way imaginable.
Late last summer, the show’s producers invited the media to visit their set for a behind-the-scenes look. You couldn’t ask for better hosts. We spoke with the writers and cast, toured the sets, and received up-close looks at the costumes and props. After talking to the team behind the show (and watching them shoot some scenes), it’s clear that season five is shaping up to be the best season yet.
In anticipation of Killjoys return, here is a rundown of what you should know.
Is this show for me?
First off, you couldn’t ask for a better summer watch. Expect ten weeks of high-stakes episodes packed with colourful characters, wrenching drama, and over-the-top-action sequences. And of course, plenty of screen time with the galaxy’s sexiest trio of bounty hunters.
If you’re looking for a show that places strong characters and moving relationships over epic action, Killjoys is the series for you — but the show also features top-notch action. Consider it a win-win.
Who are the Killjoys?
If you’ve never watched the show before, here’s the 411.
The series follows three space-travelling bounty hunters (Killjoys), Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), John (Aaron Ashmore), and D’avin (Luke Macfarlane), who work for the Reclamation Apprehension Coalition (RAC). They travel the system taking on warrants to apprehend people and valued property on RAC’s behalf. But this description only covers the tip of the iceberg.
When the show begins, Dutch has a mysterious past linked to a manipulative character named Khlyen (Rob Stewart). And John and D’avin are brothers who are finally reunited after years apart. The show’s soapy twist and turns leads to plenty of drama for the crew to sort out; often while navigating life and death missions by the seat of their pants. By the time season five rolls around, the stakes are no less than the fate of the galaxy.
If you want to catch up, start binging right now.
What to expect heading into season five:
By the end of season four, things look bleak for our heroes. The Lady (Alanna Bale) has won; she left the Green, the Green was destroyed, and there’s no way to put her back in. Thousands of years studying human memory has taught The Lady how to manipulate it, and she has taken away the team’s knowledge of each other. Season five begins at the lowest point they’ve ever been in. But in a red pill versus blue pill-like twist, they all seem to be happy in their fake lives.
Season five’s memory wipe gave the writers and actors a chance to put familiar characters in new situations, which makes for compelling drama. What’s more impressive is how the storyline dovetails with Killjoys’ thematic pillars.
“TV is a bit of a magic trick. You start off with plans, and then you see what things excite you and interest you, what starts to come out naturally,” said executive producer and Showrunner, Adam Barken.
Barken added. “As we were working, right from the beginning, one of the things that came out very naturally was this idea of memory and how it relates to family. And the more we explored that every season, the more we found, the richer the stories became. While it wasn’t necessarily a plan that we knew in season five, ‘Aha. Ok, now we’re going to strip everybody’s memories,’ by season two we had a pretty good idea that one of the main themes of the show is family. And then, of course, one of the main ways you interact with and deal with family is through your shared memories. The idea of D'av and his lost memories started us down a path that seemed [like] a really good one to follow.”
Barken then said, “I think we were lucky to find one that meant a lot to us and allowed us to build in a season that goes back to some of those core themes of memory, family, what this trio means to each other and what the wider world means to them.”
The memory wipe gave the writers and actors free rein to take characters in fresh directions. The entire crew was enthusiastic about all the storytelling possibilities.
Barken enthusiastically added, “Let’s have some fun at least at the beginning of season five saying what if people were completely different? What if Pree (Thom Allison) wasn’t a bartender. What if Turin (Patrick Garrow) wasn’t the head of the RAC? Who would they be in a new Old Town society, and how could we have some fun playing around with it? I think we did.”
“One of the tensions they’ve been playing with is how unearthable are those [personalities],” said actor Luke Macfarlane who plays D’avin Jaqobis. “What is the pure state of these people, and does it supersede memory? Is there something pure underneath them? Will we actually be seeing a truer expression of these people without [what] they’ve gone through over the last four years?”
“The fun thing is to have a complete shift in roles and shift in costumes as well, which will be very fun to see,” said Hannah John-Kamen, who plays the crew’s resident badass leader, Dutch. “It’s the idea of how do you find each other again when you’re completely distant and completely alien to each other? And what remains? What are the remnants from the past life? What is that connection, and how do you bring these characters back together? That was really fun to play as well.”
I don’t think it changes anything in the dynamics necessarily,” added Aaron Ashmore, who plays John Jaqobis. “I think a lot of those things are potentially under the surface, anyways. But it’s exciting to play with characters and actors that you know, but in these different lights because you don’t have to treat them the same. It’s almost like being in a different show, in a sense. It allows you to reveal things that are fresh and new. It’s exciting.”
Here’s a synopsis for season five’s first episode, Run, Yala Run. It’s a clear nod to German director Tom Tykwer’s 1998 thriller, Run Lola Run.
''In the season opener, “Run, Yala, Run” (Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. ET) Dutch wakes up and realizes that The Lady has put Westerley under a collective delusion. With no memory comes a new reality. Dutch struggles to find a way to wake up her gang before it’s too late. But before she can, a new Killjoy comes into town looking for Jaq.''
How do I watch the show?
Canadian viewers can watch Killjoy’s final ten episodes Friday nights on Space (soon to be CTV Sci-Fi Channel), and American viewers can tune in to Syfy.
Season 1- 4 of KILLJOYS is currently streaming on Crave and On Demand."

SnK Chapter 103 Poll Results
Tumblr media
The chapter 103 poll closed with 2,013 responses. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Tumblr media
Another month, another chapter that left people feeling excited! 98% of poll takers rated chapter 103 from good to excellent!
I just cant wait for the next chapter. I'm so HYPED
I like that Isayama for the first time since rts showcased a fast-paced action-packed chapter. Too many questions rn, but imo zeke is 100% w/ paradis, falco won’t die and the female titan will appear, regardless of its inheritor. Eren’s transformation was jizz-worthy
This chapter was both so thrilling and yet so frustrating.  On one hand, so much is happening in just the right amount of panels and it seems Isayama has learned the art of pacing in this arc more successfully than others.  I'm a sucker for tragedy, so the conflicted misery of what is going on is satisfying given the history of the series.  On the other hand, I am still very frustrated in figuring out what exactly is going on, what is being implied, specifically anything involving Zeke
I don’t know what to say. I feel so empty. But the chapter is great!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This month it was a tie for most emotional moment between “Falco trying to encourage unconscious Reiner” and “Armin finally appearing, looking haunted”. We are happy to see that people who love both sides of the conflict were able to have a good emotional tug with this chapter!
Pretty much every panel that included Falco.  This poor, traumatized child who ran into a literal war zone to get help.
Why are all my waifus getting killed.
With Reiner having no will to live, I guess he’s just going to stay in that crystal thing. Why do we have so many shifters in crystals now (Annie, Lady Tybur and now Reiner)?
I absolutely loved the scene between Falco and Reiner. That was one of the most emotional and sweet moments in SNK. Reiner was ready to sacrifice himself to save the child. I truly love how warm and protective he is towards children. I hope that both will survive. I want Reiner to find happiness and see how great person he really is. He made mistakes but regrets them. He learnt his lesson. Now is time to move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one was a landslide win with Armin’s entrance taking the victory. It seems that months of waiting to see his return finally paid off! We’re sure many of you guys are hoping to see his Colossal form next month!
Eren transforming three times within a half an hour is incredible, but the most amazing part of the chapter was Armin's entrance as the colossal titan. The explosion looked catastrophic, can't wait to see it animated!
I literally screamed when I saw Armin, I’m so happy to see him with the Survey Corps, but his face worries me slightly. I’m also sad we didn’t get to see his titan form.
Not as epic as the last one but so glad to see Armin again. Sasha's sniping skills and Eren mindblowing everybody (Porco in particular) were the best parts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the majority of you guys are certain Zeke is only acting on his own agenda, there’s plenty of division on whether he could be siding with Eren alone or with Paradis as a whole. One thing that does seem certain to the majority is that he’s definitely not working in Marley’s favor.
Zeke probably thinks he and Eren are the same because they were both manipulated by Grisha or so he thinks. If he realizes that Eren probably doesn't hate their dad, Zeke's attitude towards his brother will possibly change.
Zeke's the one with most awareness that the cycle will repeat so long as shifters exist, his unique perspective is knowing what Grisha taught him as well as having the total trust of the Marley from a young age, and having physically gone and seen the island and witnessed their struggles with the titans, and met Eren who is the direct result of Grisha's continued plans.  There is no one who should be more impartial and aware that this is a unending cycle, it seems he's finally coming to terms with having to do something about it after all his life simply being a pawn of people in what he assumed was a more influential position than him.
Every chapter I say "This is definitely the chapter we finally see what Zeke is up to" and every chapter it just gets more confusing...
I seriously doubt that Zeke is working with Paradis. One thing would be to act like an enemy but he literally killed a bunch of SC soldiers, I doubt the SC would be ok with that. Also, Levi looked PISSED AF! I doubt Zeke died and he's still suspicious but I'm betting on him having his own ulterior motives.
I don't think Zeke is working with the SC. It was hard to answer these questions when the options contradict my feelings and understanding of the chapter so much.
So. Good ol' Zeke. He's like David S. Pumpkins; he's his own thing. I'm still of the belief that he's working towards his own objective but now I'm more open to the idea that he may have something set up with SC via Eren as his point of contact (who, of course, is definitely working with/for SC). But it's clear that even if they are both aware of the chain of events unfolding before their eyes, both sides have something they want badly in the end and will probably "betray" each other without hesitation to get it at some point.
The survey corps has a plan but Zeke and Eren also have a separate plan they're not aware of. And on top of all of that Zeke has his own plan for his own personal agenda.
Zekerets
Tumblr media
The general consensus is that there’s more in store for Zeke in this story, even if it means he managed to transfer his consciousness to his Eldian ass. ;) Most of you are positive we will be seeing more from Zeke in future chapters!
If Zeke is dead, I will watch the live action movie 10 times in a row
Levi cut Zeke out of the Beast Titan's neck while everyone was distracted by Armin's transformation. Then after Zeke made his getaway, Levi blew the shit out of the rest of the nape to destroy the evidence and make everyone think Zeke was dead.
Zeke escaped upwards using 3dmg right as levi was supposed to attack him, causing zeke to be assumed KIA
Well, looks like Zeke has been vaporised, playtime's over kids, let's head back home now!
I find it hard to believe that Zeke got taken down this easily again. I also find it odd that we don't see the clothing he's wearing inside his titan, but we do see what the others are wearing in their titans. Looking back, it seems that's the way it was before, too. But I think it would be a cool plot twist if he had 3DMG equipped this time, considering he did take Mike's 3DMG a while back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the majority believe that Levi is working along with Zeke, there is division on whether Levi has decided to let go of his promise to Erwin to kill Zeke. Over half of the voters believe that Levi still intends to kill Zeke when all is said and done, but a good 31% of you believe that he may have decided to let it go for the greater goal.
If the Zeke-Survey Corps alliance isn't real then Isayama must be the biggest troll ever. Also, I believe Levi has always shown that he'll do what's best for humanity/Eldia (even if it means doing unpleasant things) so I don't think the alliance is as far-fetched as other people believe.
Still waiting for that sweet Levi's Revenge™
Levi!   I love how emotional Levi gets when it comes to keeping his promise to Erwin; nothing can get a rise out of him anymore or get him to max rage except Zeke.  I hope we find out sooner rather than later what Zeke is up to, but there is no way that Levi is going to let him walk out of this alive, even if he is part of the current plan.
Regarding Levi wanting to Kill Zeke, while he'd prefer to kill him by his own hands we already know he'd be willing to feed him to someone so the Titan power isn't lost. I personally think Zeke agreed, since he has a a year left at best,
Tumblr media
While there was a small shift in ratio, the majority of you guys still believe that Pieck is not totally trustful of Zeke. There have been plenty of analyses floating around believing that she may have seen Zeke leaving the Beast Titan after Levi’s attack.
The question about Pieck being mistrustful of Zeke isn't worded very well because if I answer yes it makes it seem like I'm part of the 70% and haven't changed my mind when I'm in fact part of the 30% and haven't changed my mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This question was mainly for fun, but Lady Tybur decidedly wins the award for Best “Bitch Please” Face™. Hopefully we get more fun looks from her next chapter!
Imma let you finish, but Lady Tybur has the best side eye in all of SnK
Ms. Tyber has the best death glare!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s some division on this question, but it’s a near-tie between Armin getting involved in the fight and the Paradis crew’s ticket out of Marley showing up.
They'll drop sour cream bombs
At this point John Cena might as well show up.
Annie will arrive (let me dream)
I think time is running for them to scape "safely", but not necessarily through a zeppelin
I think what Jean & Zeke mean by "It's almost time/times running out" is that Eren needs to make contact with Zeke before the Colossal Wall Titans arrive so Eren will be able to control them. If Eren doesn't touch Zeke before the Wall Titans arrive, everyone including the SC & Eldians will die.
I believe that the question about the lights up are relationed with Hanji, after all, Armin is too distance. In fact, I think that the thoughts about an escape through a zepplin are a little bit awkward.  And I think that zeke escaped using the DMT, wich he took when he said goodbye to piecke and porko, before eren showed up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most of you still believe that Jean is clinging onto his humanity (and with good reason after he called Floch out in the previous chapter for being too zealous). The expectation is that he will avoid harming Falco or that someone else will step in and do the dirty work instead.
I noticed that jean is only attacking the shifters on shiganshina battle arc. which can tell a lot about his war ethics and strategics. he’s only fighting those who declared war on them first, almost as if trying to ignore those who got caught up into it.
Jean will kill Falco. I think becasue it's a callback for that girl from MP that Jean couldn't kill from Uprising
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last month nearly all of the scores were tied with both pessimism and optimism about Annie’s fate. This month, there seems to be more optimism, but most people are still hanging out in the area of uncertainty. We hope to get a clear answer soon!
Since Eren said that the crystal was, as expected, unbreakable AFTER pointing out it was like Annie's, I take that to mean he has tried chewing Annie's crystal open but failed like he did this time. I'm not sure why so many people seem to be taking this to mean that he was able to eat Annie when the scene actually reassures me that he hasn't
I had absolutely no hope for Annie being alive, but seeing Lady Tybur being conscious while inside the crystal changed my mind. Annie could still be alive. And if she is, she spent YEARS in the crystal while being aware of her surroundings??? I am shook
It has already been hinted several times that Annie would eventually return. I don't think Isayama would forget about her, and if it appears to be true, that she's returning next chapter, I hope to see her work with the Survey Corps, or a backstory/flashback, which explains the reason why she'll be working with the Survey Corps from now on.
Tumblr media
Almost 35% of you are ready to just see Lady Tybur kick the bucket already, but a good 28% of you would at least like to see her have a chat with Eren first.
why do so many people want lady tybur to die?? i don’t understand?? she’s cool and has done nothing wrong to anyone like ever??? she’s even called a villain?? excuse me tell me one villainous thing she did?? she’s a decent human being but i guess how dare she beat eren’s ass up and defend her people... 🤦🏻‍♀️
Eren needs to swallow her whole (insert lemmy face)
Tumblr media
Over 60% of you believe that the Survey Corps’ goal is to kill the enemy titan shifters.
I strongly disagree with having only 2 options in the "capture or to kill them?" question. The real answer, is, I believe, either one. If they can deprive Marley of a weapon and add it to their strength, is clearly the ideal. But, if the choice comes down to kill or they escape, they'll absolutely just kill them. Depriving your enemy of a weapon is always a better choice than letting them continue attacking you with it, in the hopes you could take it later.
I still maintain that the goal was to avoid any and all combat with the shifters; hence Pieck and Porcos trap. (Why bother setting the whole thing up? Why not just kill them?) My guess is that capturing them for their titan powers was the next step, although that's obviously failed. I feel like the end game here is to gather all the titan somehow and unite them for...??? Something??? World peace??? Shit, that sounds like a good idea. Unrealistic but good.
Tumblr media
It’s a near-tie between believing that either Zeke orchestrated capturing Porco and Pieck or believe that he did it as a larger plan with the Survey Corps.
Maybe Zeke wanted to isolate Pieck and Porco in the trap, to save their lives?
Tumblr media
Most of you seem to have given up on figuring out Trapdoor-kun’s identity. But a fair chunk of you think it could have been a current day Eldian restorationist! There’s still a good amount of you who believe it’s Connie as well.
Hiroyuki Sawano
Erwin it was erwin. You thought he was dead? You fool he's not!  He's immortal,  he's still here and  with the strength of his eyebrows he will kick everyone's ass.
I really don't care at this point
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One thing is certain, at least 65% of you guys believe that the Jaeger Brothers have the best Eldian asses! It seems nice booties run in the family!
I can forgive people supporting  Marley, but WHO THE HELL VOTED ON ZEKE ASS?????
Everyone who chose zeke’s Titan as having the best ass is a furry goodbye
Levi is jealous of Zeke's Eldian ass.
porco got a nice ass uwu
That question.... I don't care about titan's butts -_-
I like Eldian asses
Tumblr media
Predicting who Isayama kills off has always been difficult, but over half of you believe that Pieck is going to be toast in the next chapter, with Jean following in  second, Porco a distant third.
Gabi you better not be aiming that rifle at my husbando Jean also can everyone of Paradis and Eldia have a party at the newly created bay, I want the warriors AND the SC to live please and thank you
Pieck and Porco will likely die next chapter 😪
I swear to god Flocke if you lay even one finger on little Falco or Gabi I will personally hunt you down, you'll be lucky if I find you first though. Because other wise the Armored titan will kill you dead. You will then, rest in pieces.
Protect Jean and Falco 2k18
pieck cant die, nor can any 104th  members
Tumblr media
At 57%, a majority are thirsty for answers on the Paradis Crew’s last 4 years.
I need Paradis flashbacks but first I'd like to be sure no one major dies, thanks.
I stg we'll have that fucking Paradis flashback right before Levi's death. Fucking Isayama.
I really don’t want a crap ton of flashbacks I’m Ngl I just kinda wanna get moving I know the q and a said stuff but like that’s my thought at the moment.
I really hope the next chapters a flashback to paradis i mean it would be neat for the 104th chapter to be a flashback ABOUT THE 104TH
Tumblr media
As expected of the redditors, you’re still the overwhelming majority of the poll takers! ;)
ANY OTHER CHAPTER THOUGHTS YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?
So chomping down on Lady Tybur's crystal won't break it and apparently neither will the thunder spears. We still haven't seen Eren try to use his hardening ability to break it but honestly, I think his only option now is to use the coordinate. It could be revealed soon that only the person inside the crystal can break themselves out and by using the coordinate, Eren can order her to do so. After all, we've seen Eren control mindless titans, but would unlocking the full powers of the founding titan allow him to control shifters as well?
Bertholdt's death was such a surprise to Porco... When Reiner returned to Marley, he gave his full report about what had happened, so if he was aware of Bertholdt's death, then he would have reported it, thus leading to Porco knowing that Bertholdt was already dead. Does that mean that Reiner has no idea that Bertholdt is dead? Was he hoping that Bertholdt managed to escape and was still alive on Paradis?
"Friendship ended with mr Kruger, now Reiner is my best friend." - Falco
Personally I'm not a huge fan of action heavy chapters like this as they take a few read throughs to get a good picture of what's going on. Although I do think the intention at the minute is to make us feel a bit lost as to motivations and who is supporting who. So I'm going to roll with it and be surprised when the reveals happen.
I think Porco will get Marcel's confession memory soon.
Even if it's all a plan made by Zeke and Scouts, the fact that SC soldiers still died , unaware of the bigger plan, makes me really sad. It's like with the plan to capture Annie back in the Giant Trees forest and Stohess. Back then it was Erwin who organized the plan, now it's Hanji's turn?
I. WANT. ANNIE. TO. RETURN.
I want Bert to Mufasa the fuck out of Reiner
Zeke is lucky he had royal blood as a bargaining chip to convince Paradis to team up. Otherwise he stood no chance if they had to fight for real. I don't think Zeke is a master planner, maybe he has an end goal, but he isn't a genius who has planned every step to get there. He gets lucky and bailed out by others and his conveniently relevant Senju DNA too often to be a keikaku master.

everyone simmer down like people in this fandom need to steal some of erens drinks from his apparently extensive alcohol stash like gdi I’m losing it guys I have a family and stuff I have alife and y’all losinf it and making me go crazy too like w t f.
Honestly, I was over the moon when Levi took down Zeke, but it did seem a little too easy...I highly doubt Zeke would go down easily. Also, Armin's haunted expression broke my heart. You can see the pain in his eyes, and that makes me even more curious about what's happened on Paradis over the last few years.
In my first read i thought that Armin had a ponytail and i got excited. Some users corrected me and when i re-read the chapter i found it was just his hand. I feel betrayal
Eren has more stamina than the Energiser Battery Rabbit: he can just keep on going, and going, and going...
I spent the entire chapter going "Get back in the damn titan, Porco!" I died with the panzer squad. RIP me."

Our Happy Ending (2/2)
Summary: How things could have concluded if Zutara was the endgame.
Read on: ao3
Part 1
The Gaang was in Uncle Iroh’s tea shop in Ba Sing Se. It was a calm and peaceful moment, a far cry from their usual action-packed adventures. Uncle Iroh was playing the tsungi horn. The girls were chatting. Zuko was serving tea. Sokka was ‘capturing the moment’, but ended up being laughed at after they saw how much of an epic fail his painting was.
Aang stepped out of the tea shop, taking a moment for himself. The sunset reflected the same hues as the one during the comet. It could have been a pleasant scenery to remember if they were simply kids enjoying the moment, no war, and no responsibilities, only themselves to think of. Unfortunately, they were no simple kids, the hope of ending the war and finally bring peace to the world lies in them.
Even though he was the most volatile in the group, literally and figuratively, recently Aang found himself reflecting. Like on these blank moments when he was free to think of anything, his mind unconsciously ponders about what transpired in the war and what would he do next as the Avatar.
Considering the other worse things that could have happened; he was a lucky kid. He was lucky that a lion-turtle showed him a way how to defeat Fire Lord Ozai without actually killing him – take away his bending, instead. He was lucky that a rock hit him at his chi trigger point that allowed him to go Avatar State, instead of letting a timid clueless kid fight a psychotic power-driven adult.
He knew that he won’t always be lucky, and he has to fully face his destiny: to be a fully-realized Avatar. Every time he tried to run away, people precious to him paid the price. This time he’ll face the problem head on like what Toph had always said.
Katara, the only earthly attachment he can’t let go of, his forever girl. She was the person who woke him up from his century of slumber. She was the mother who took care of him and whom he nourished from. She was the teacher who taught him and guided him in his journey as a waterbender. She was the sister whom he swore loyalty to. She was the best friend he relied on. She gave him a family to belong to. How could he let her go? How could he live without her?
But then, he had a life before her, before his slumber, his life as an airbender. It was his heritage and it will be his legacy. If he didn’t run away a hundred years ago, could the war have been prevented? Could his people still be alive?
Him being the last air nomad, it was something he could hardly believe, not because he was still in denial, but they weren’t called nomads for empty titles. Among the four nations, they were the most adaptable and most likely to blend in the crowd. He had memories of encountering his own people posing as nonbendering citizens of the other nations and managed to fool everyone except their own kind.
No air nomad might be occupying any of the air temples for the past years but it doesn’t mean that they were extinct. They might be living in the other nations feigning as part of their nonbending residents for self-preservation.
That has to be it. He left them before, now he’s going to find them.
Aang didn’t know how long he was standing outside but a presence next to him, retrieved him from his thoughts, Katara. She simply stood there, saying nothing. She could feel her gaze on him then on the beautiful sunset.
“After this… You’re going back to the Southern Water Tribe, right?” Aang said, putting words on Katara’s thoughts.
“Yeah…” Katara hated her maternal instinct sometimes. Going back to her tribe meant that she’ll be leaving Aang on his own, and it made her feel guilty. Yet, it was her deepest desire to rebuild her tribe now that their people were back. They were open to venture the seas, and keep in touch with the other water tribes. “How about you?”
“I know this sounds crazy, but I’m going to look for my own people, the air nomads. They are alive somewhere out there Katara… I could feel it.” Aang said with conviction.
“That’s great Aang!” A small supportive smile crossed Katara’s face. But as much as she wanted to stay happy and hopeful, reality likes to go against her. “I guess, after this, each of us is going our own separate ways… Are you sure you can manage on your own?”
“I have to Katara.” Aang whispered in hard certainty. It was like he was telling it more to himself than to Katara.
“It’s not like I’ll ever be alone anyway. The world needs me, and it better be there for me too,” Aang joked, shifting his heavy tone to a lighter one. “We could always visit each other, including the Gaang. If everyone is up to it, we can camp again somewhere like the good-old-days, but this time it’s not the Fire Nation we’re hiding from, but fromour responsibilities!”
The two chuckled like the kids they actually were. Finishing his heartily laugh, Aang spoke again. “Katara?”
“What is it Aang?”
“Uhm… Regarding what I did to you during the Ember Island Players… I… ah… I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I understand that the play upset everyone… well, maybe except for Toph.” As much as Toph was amused with how her character was portrayed, Katara won’t ever live down how spot on Zuko’s actor was.
“No. It’s not. Forcefully kissing you like that wasn’t the right thing to do whether I’m upset or not.” When Aang heard what happened to Zuko and Azula’s Agni Kai, at first he felt relieved that all of them managed to win their own battles. Yet when the details with how the fight started to sink down in him, like how Zuko desperately cried as he attempted to redirect the lightning that Azula shot at Katara and how frantic Katara was every time Zuko was in pain, he felt his internal organs plummet in shame.
His friend Zuko, who wanted to regain his honor more than anything else, was willing to throw it away and possibly his own life just to save Katara. Yet he, as the person who proclaims to love her, what could he do for her? What was he doing to her? Fly away and let her deal with the crucial situation on her own? Not considering how his actions would affect her?
It was a hard fact to accept, but maybe that’s the reason why he needs to let go of her. He might be the Avatar and the direly world needs him, but not everything in the world is about him. He needs to stop being self-centered and learn how to empathic.
Katara felt a pang of pride upon hearing Aang’s words. She was proud that the boy she found in the iceberg has been growing up.
“I accept the apology.” She awkwardly smiled at him. “So this means… we’re… friends?”
“Friends.” Aang agreed and gave back Katara’s motherly hug.
Zuko didn’t mean to pry, but he had been watching Katara and Aang outside of the teashop. He can’t help wondering, what they could be talking about. He saw Aang flash a goofy smile at him, catching him staring at them. He immediately set his eyes elsewhere with pink tint on his cheeks. Aang broke the hug with Katara and started walking towards the teashop.
“It’s your turn buddy Go talk to her.” Aang discreetly whispered at him, letting Zuko have a private moment with Katara away from the Gaang’s meddling, particularly Sokka’s.
“And Zuko…” Aang had a mature and kind expression across his face, which made Zuko swallow an imaginary lump along his throat. “Take care of her, okay?”
“O… Of course!” Zuko awkwardly replied. What was Aang hinting at?
Zuko walked towards Katara while rubbing the back of his neck. He didn’t exactly know how to start a conversation with her. Ever since his Agni Kai with Azula, things were either intense or awkward with her.
“Hi, Katara… Are you okay?” he managed to say in his best cheery voice he could manage.
Katara raised a brow at him as if telling: “Seriously Zuko? That’s the best you can manage?” Then she laughed lightly at him. She let out a light laugh before answering him seriously.
“I’m fine. Just kinda feeling weird after Aang and I… Uhm… I really don’t know how to call it…  Technically, broke up?” Katara shrugged.
“Oh.. I didn’t mean to…” Zuko didn’t really know what to say. Should he apologize for being nosy or because he might be a reason why it happened?
“There’s nothing really to apologize for,” Katara replied in a neutral tone that put Zuko to ease. “Our break up is a mutual one. I just find it weird that we ‘broke up’ when we’re not officially together and I was sort of expecting that things are going to be a bit more dramatic… You know how Aang could be at times. But really, I’m thankful with how we neatly concluded things.”
“I see.” There was a long silence between them after that.
“Katara…” “Zuko…” they called the same time resulting to some amusing gestures.
“You go ahead,” Zuko gave way to Katara. He might be great at delivering political speeches, but can be a total dimwit in personal conversations.
Katara took a deep breath before saying anything. “About what happened during the Agni Kai with Azula…” They never had the chance to talk about it. After the Agni Kai, they were either wrapped in their own busy schedules or accompanied each other in serene silence, afraid to break the thin ice that is protecting the rapport they established from their own chaotic thoughts and feelings.
Though, sometimes at night, her own thoughts haunted her, making her restless as she lay on her bed. “Did he do that because he has feelings for me?”
And then, there were her feelings. “What do I feel about him?”
She could still remember how he cried for her as he ran towards the lightning’s path. That, together with the last moments with her mom, they were her most tragic memories she won’t ever forget in her life.
One thing is for sure, things between them are no longer the same like it was before.
“I’m sorry.” Zuko immediately replied. He already knows where she could possibly drag him with this conversation and he also recognizes how much this girl could affect him, even stronger than what Sozin’s Comet could do to him. His last Agni Kai, didn’t only pave way for him to rightfully earn the throne, but it also awakened the potential feelings he harbors towards the master waterbender. Whatever he felt for Katara, it’s something he cannot hide from himself any longer.
But he was no longer the prince who can be in romance with anyone he pleases. He is now the leader of a nation which owes the world a hundred years’ worth of recuperation for the war his ancestors instigated. Pursuing romance at this crucial political phase would be like a juggling his mother’s precious china and failing to catch either one or all of them.
So before she could make him falter with his decision, he firmed himself.
“I’m sorry.” Did he just say that? Did he understand that she was referring to their standing as friends and not what had literally happened? He must have. For a moment Katara’s body felt numb. A bit later, hurt started to gush like water from the dam. Was he rejecting her?! Was he betraying her again? She didn’t even let her finish what she was about to say! She can’t help flashing him a painful look that emphasized her glassy blue eyes.
Zuko felt something in him crash. “I didn’t mean it that way...” Yet, she looked away.
“Katara, I’m not denying what we could possibly feel towards each other. It’s just that, I don’t want for either of us to hold on to something that would hardly work given our current predicament. I’ll be in the Fire Nation trying to win the trust of my people and reform our ways. You’ll be in the South Pole, helping to rebuild your tribe. Between us is a lot of work so we can truly live in peace and harmony.” He looked at her, looking for any sign of understanding. He was relieved to see that her expression has softened.
She discerned what he was trying to imply and she felt stupid for all sorts of things, for overreacting, for overthinking, for thinking badly of him, for being immature, for hoping too much, and so on. Seriously, he is too dangerous for her. How could he trigger emotions and actions far from her usual parameters?
“If we still feel the same way by the time we can have some time to ourselves, we’ll talk about it, okay?” she heard him say. His golden orbs sincerely and intently gazed on her blue ones and his large hands enclosed her smaller ones.
“Okay,” she managed to voice out. “But promise me that after this, we’ll keep writing to each other, and you’ll also write to Sokka, Suki, Aang and even Toph.”
“I promise.”
Hands intertwined together, and her head on his shoulders, they watched the sunset.

What would Socrates say?
We are all overloaded with information these days.
We are all bombarded with the latest fads, research, ideas, inventions, widgets and must have’s and do’s.
It is overwhelming!
The inundation of innovation and invention is escalating to the point where you are literally unable to keep up with it all – it is NOT humanly possible.  I was reading the other day (at a very normal adult rate of 300 words per minute) that at my very average speed, that I am currently reading 4 times TOO SLOWLY to even keep up to date with all of the latest information in my field – let alone in other areas of interest!!
If you are not much for reading and video is more your thing – there are 300 hours of video uploaded to YouTube – EVERY MINUTE!!
That is incredible!
How is it possible then to keep up with it all – what do you do about the feelings of OVERWHELM that come from even TRYING to keep up-to-date – what a joke that has become these days, because that is only ever as good as what you learned yesterday – as today there will be something new, so there is no catching up on what you missed yesterday!
Overwhelmed even reading this!?  Fair enough!!
 What would Socrates say?
This is where it is great to go back to our forbears, to a man you might have heard of, Socrates, a Greek Philosopher who had an unusual style of teaching:
He played REALLY DUMB!
He pretended that he didn’t have the answers – or was he really pretending?
He ‘taught’ if you can use this term by using enquiry and questioning.
His style of teaching is now called Socratic Questioning – which in essence is a method whereby the student is encouraged to come up with the answers THEMSELVES!
Socrates used questions to help the student’s THINK, with the understanding that this was the most valuable skill that he could give anyone, that THIS would set them up for a life well lived
BECAUSE
A mind that has been trained to THINK can LEARN whatever the hell it wants to!
Therefore learning to think is in fact SUPERIOR to knowledge – every single time (unless perhaps if you are on some quiz show and you are about to win the million bucks only to have the extent of your knowledge be exhausted – yes that would suck!).
 Dealing with overwhelm
So when it comes to this modern day and age – could Socrates have known just how powerful and RELEVANT his methodologies would become?  Because he has really set us up for SUCCESS in this crazy modern day and age, so thanks Socs (I wonder if he would mind me calling him that!?).
Anyhoo,
You can begin to ask yourself, what would Socrates say?
Well he would ask a question of course – and so the question becomes; what is the most powerful question that I can ask myself in this situation such that when I answer it, I will feel infinitely BETTER!?
How now there is a BIG QUESTION!
But just to clarify – the end point here is FEELING INFINITELY BETTER – so there is your litmus test as to whether your question was a powerful one (or not!).
So here is an example and a common one asked:
Why?
Think about how you FEEL when you ask yourself WHY?
Usually this will make you feel INFINITELY WORSE and therefore this question FAILS THE TEST.
 Another one?
Who?
This usually makes us feel ANGRY because it is looking for someone to BLAME!
So when coming up with questions the MOST POWERFUL ones usually start with
What (what is the problem, what can I do about it)
How (how are we going to get through this, how can I be of most help here?)
When (when does the problem arise, under what circumstances, when can I make a change?)
 Simple.
Starting your questioning with what, how and when will set you up for a MUCH better day and can help you filter out all of the unnecessary information and bring back some ZEN into the chaos.
What is the problem? What is MOST important here? What can I do about it?
How will I tackle this problem? How is this happening (inbox overloaded, how?)
When can I make the change? When would be a good time to check my emails?
Ther just a few examples – obviously you need to tailor them to your own situation!!
So what about giving it a go? See if you can come up with your own questions – and become the enquirer rather than thinking that you have to know it all!  We can take comfort in the knowledge that if even great minds like Socrates did not claim to know it all, then why should we expect that from ourselves!?
Remember, Bodhi starts with you!

If this longtime Republican stronghold fell to the Democrats it would be a seismic artistic switching. But insurgent nominee Beto ORourke has an uphill task
Tumblr media
On a balmy darknes in Austin, against the backdrop of the glittering high-rises of the city's booming downtown, Beto O'Rourke is laying out his audacious plan to change the face of Texas, and America.
In front of him, parcelled into an open-air common, a largely young gathering of 40, 000 is thrumming with rarely enclose gaiety. Even in the radical bubble of Austin they have never experienced anything like this: a Democrat seriously in the running for a Senate seat, emulating to topple Ted Cruz, the Tea party freak whom even fellow Republican call " Lucifer in the flesh "~ ATAGEND.
" We are not running against anything or any registered political party ," O'Rourke tells his supporters. He swipes his arm in the air like a pumped-up revolutionary while simultaneously chasing them with a crooner's charms.
The message is relentlessly positive. The 45 -year-old has nippped Barack Obama's 2008 catchphrase" Hope and change" for darker hours, so now it becomes:" Hope over dread ".
" We are extending for each other and this country that I desire so much better ," he says, to a giant roar.
Audacious is too detached a word for O'Rourke's campaign. "Nuclear" goes closer. That a punk rocker-turned-politician who a year ago was scarcely known outside El Paso, their own borders municipality he represents in Congress, should be competitive at all in Texas is miraculous.
The state last-place encountered a Democratic US senator 25 years ago. It has filled every statewide office with Republican since 1998.
The recent ballots put the race within boundaries of error. The respected Cook Political Report astounded spectators by recently grading such elections as a "toss-up". Real Clear Politics' tracking canvas has Cruz up four stages, but it also has the contest as a toss up.
A toss-up? The ramifications flood in. Were O'Rourke to send Cruz packing it is able to hand back command of the Senate to the Democrats, with all that necessitates for Donald Trump's program- and possible impeachment.

But the reverberations would go much further than that. Texas has the second highest person in the society. With the increasing numbers of Texans projected to double to more than 50 million by 2050- visualize California and New York compounded- its once outsized influence on US culture and politics is set to explode.
Lawrence Wright, the Pulitzer-prize winning author, points out where reference is gratify in his hometown of Austin that any indicate of the state growing genuinely in play would be a displacement of seismic results." Formerly that happens, the whole nation's politics changes. The Republican presidential strategy could be used as deep trouble- they can't win the White House without Texas ."
Wright's book God Save Texas was published the beginning of this year when what might be called the Beto effect had yet to take off. Which is miraculous. Wright's thesis- that Texas comprises the key to the future of America, both as the beginnings of much of the rightwing tribalism that grips Washington, and as its possible medicine- is precisely what is at stake in this epic senatorial battle.
" Cruz and O'Rourke represent different eyesights for the future of the state, and the country ," Wright says." Cruz's vision is very exclusionary, cold-hearted, out of adjust with the more centrist political current that really extends through the position ."
Wright has been amazed to attend" Beto for Texas" mansions spring up in heavily republican areas such as the Dallas suburbs. That is all the more surprising sacrificed O'Rourke's background as bass participatein a punk banding and his unashamedly radical positions on universal healthcare, gun control, in-migration reform and dope legalization.
It's as if O'Rourke has taught umpteen boreholes and unleashed substitutes of pent-up political force, like geysers of black oil gushing from the Texas prairie. The coerce is evident at his downtown Austin rally.
Young beings in the crowd say they are drawn to what they see as a new wording of politics crafted by Beto( everyone uses his given name, pronounced "Bet-Oh" ). They like how he eschews focus groups and strategists, speaks his recollection and refuses to take fund from big corporate sponsors. The" Beto for Texas" campaign insignium is printed in black and white rather than Democratic off-color to signify a desire to cross boundaries.
Many at the revival, like Kaitlyn Watson, 19, are first-time voters who see in O'Rourke an fleeing from suffocating reactionary pasts. For her to vote in favour of a Democrat is an act of disobedience coming as she does from Beaumont, an intensely republican town.
In Watson's final year of high school she affixed a tweet critical of vice-president Mike Pence for being anti-gay. The tweet disappeared viral, and she was spate by castigations from her Trump-supporting schoolmates.
" Beaumont is most republican and closed-minded. I went out as soon as I could ," she says.
Watson's friend and fellow Beaumont resident, Aimee Huckeba, 20, has also been enticement for radical examines. Her educator reached recreation of her in front of classmates and other students bullied her when she spoke in government class.
Now it's payback term: she is spending her spare hours persuading young Texans to cross-file to vote for O'Rourke." This is our chance to make change ."
Embed
Huckeba is not alone . Something is afoot in the largest territory of Texas. About 1.6 m added honours have been added to voter moves since the 2014 midterm polls, a surge that could play critically in O'Rourke's favor.
One of his capital ways is that Texas is not a republican territory or a liberal government- it is a non-voting government. Trump earned Texas by nine times in 2016, but he and Hillary Clinton were lashed by the army of Texans who bided home.
Just 43% of registered voters went to the referendums- one of the most difficult turnouts in the nation- and the percentage of young people who participated was substantially lower. If O'Rourke could tap into that possible among young, as well as low-income and Hispanic Texans who tend to lean Democratic more elect sporadically, then what seemed to be a pipe dream just a few months ago could be within his grasp.
Tumblr media
Ted Cruz, who razzed the Tea Party curve into the Senate in 2012, is for the first time facing a viable challenge from the left. Image: Pool/ Reuters
Then there are women like Jennifer Harris, 45. She is the proud owner of a bumper sticker that predicts:" Republicans for Beto ".
Harris has been a Republican voter for 20 times, but will be voting for O'Rourke in November." Moderate, college-educated dames like me, we've had enough of the tribalism, of the policies of no that Ted Cruz represents ."
Harris has a pre-existing state ailment, and has no religion Republicans will protect her healthcare coverage. Under the influence of the Tea party, Texas has the highest number of parties without health insurance in the country- some 4.3 miliion, including 623,000 children.
She also has a 10 -year-old son, and has watched with fright as low-tax Tea Party Republican have pared investment in education down to about $9,000 per public schoolchild a year. That's 25% below the national average, in a state that hosts one in 10 of all American children.
The last straw was Ted Cruz's support of Brett Kavanaugh for the US supreme court despite sexual assault allegations against the justice, further compounded by Trump's mocking of his accuser Dr Christine Blasey Ford this week. Harris has come to believe that Cruz has put self and gathering before country.
" Republican brides are mad ," Harris said." We certainly might decide the parliamentary elections. The pendulum is likely to be swaying back ."
Embed
The last era the pendulum swing in Texas was 30 years ago. The commonwealth was rock-solid Democratic for decades, but in the 1980 s and 1990 s it did a full fling and grew rock-solid Republican.
Two individuals did more than any others to bring about that sea change. One of them was the most celebrated Texan of them all: Lyndon Johnson, who following the assassination of John F Kennedy gave the Lone Star state on the planned with his surly Texan channels and Great Society reforms.
Johnson knew that his landmark civil right legislation proscribing discrimination and diversifying voting rights to black people would go down like a lead balloon in the then Democratic south, his house regime included. He is reported to have said " we have lost the south for a generation ".
And so it came to pass. In differentiate to Johnson's achievements- the process of developing Medicare and Medicaid and the "war on poverty"- Cruz and co have shut down the federal government, reduced public services and promoted anti-transgender bathroom proposals. Last-place time they transcended themselves by legalizing open carry of swords on Texan streets.
So how would Johnson see his beloved Texas today now that it has turned not only Republican but rabidly Tea Party? I positioned the question to his nephew Philip Bobbitt, a constitutional law academic at the University of Texas at Austin who as a young man lives in Johnson's White House.
" I don't see Lyndon wringing his hands about it ," Bobbitt says." He was a doer, a man of action. He would say,' Let's get moving! Let's get out the vote !'"
Tumblr media
Supporter Caroline Korst stands for a photograph after awareness-raising campaigns rallying for Beto O'Rourke. Picture: Laura Buckman/ AFP/ Getty Images
That sums up Beto O'Rourke's policy towards dealing with Ted Cruz. Instead of bleating about the die of progressive politics, he is a doer. He has called all 254 counties in the district, sowing seeds of a possible Democratic reawakening as he goes.
A least positive take over the Democratic bid for rebirth is given by the second individual who did more than any other to wrest Texas into the Republican camp: Karl Rove. Rove is good known nationally for securing two presidential terms for George W Bush, but in Texas he is legendary for having given the mood a total makeover, systematically supplanting the Democratic old guard with Rove Republicans.
I ask Rove whether Beto O'Rourke could be about to do what he did, but in reverse.
" Texas could fluctuate back into the Democratic row ," he begins." But not with Beto O'Rourke. He is one of the most heedless applicants I've ever seen in "peoples lives" ."
Reckless?
" He has this habit of cuss extensively in the wrong lieu, like town hall meetings in rural areas in Texas. That might be charming in hip places in Houston, but O'Rourke says the f-word and a whole lot more in front of a bunch of churchgoers in little town ."
Rove is even more scathing about the viral video of a pronunciation in which O'Rourke said there was " good-for-nothing more American" than NFL players kneeling through "the member states national" anthem." I can think of a million stuffs more American than participate in the knee ," Rove says," like honouring the flag or wearing the uniform ."
The master strategist goes on:" Beto is a media start. Is he going to come closer than Democrat in recent scoots? Likely. Is he going to earn? I find it highly unlikely ."
That will be music to the ears of Ted Cruz, who for the first time is facing a viable challenge from the left. When Cruz rode the Tea Party gesticulate into the US Senate in 2012, his only event was internal- between the right and the far right- over who would be Republican candidate.
In effect, he was elected in the primary that time by 631,000 votes- in a state of 27 million.
Cruz, who is only two years older than O'Rourke but comes across as part of a crustier contemporary, is following the conventional safarus playbook: pumping big bucks into negative ads attacking his rival's stability. Being Cruz though- he was, after all, the politician who brought us " machine-gun bacon " - his attempts at character assassination has significantly descended flat.
Last month he warned that his contender was plotting to ban barbecue in the different regions of the mood. Less charming was the dog-whistle tweet he put out including a time of O'Rourke expressing outrage at the recent killing by a female police officer of an African American husband in his Dallas apartment.
Cruz captioned the time" In Beto O'Rourke's own texts ". The implication was clear: that there was something reprehensible about blaming the police for hitting an unarmed black being in his own home.
Some of the attacks on O'Rourke have come closer to their celebrate. This week he was forced to apologise after a review of a Broadway show he had inserted in 1991, when he was 19, was dredged up in which he said the only qualifications of the female actors were there" phenomenally vast hearts and tight rears ".
But overall O'Rourke's refusal to be sidetracked from his positive politics has worked. It's a sign of how rattled Cruz is that he has had to call in the artillery, in the shape of his arch-enemy Donald Trump.

'I can think of nothing more American': Beto O'Rourke responds to question on NFL asserts- video
In the 2016 presidential primaries, Trump ridiculed him as" Lyin' Ted Cruz", shaped crude notes to his wife and proposed his father was behind the JFK assassination. Cruz dissidents are compiling the most of this awkward history. They have placed a blown-up tweet in which Trump slams Cruz for achieving "absolutely nothing" on the side of a truck which they park for maximum embarrassment in front of the Republican candidate's public appearances.
Trump will make a stump look for Cruz this month- an astonishing capitulation for the Texan granted such visceral revulsions in their past." Cruz requires Trump to come to Texas to tell all Trump boosters to vote for him, and then he necessary Trump to go away and have nothing more to do with it ," said Mark Jones, a political scientist at Rice University.
Despite the evidence of jitters on Cruz's part, it's way too early to write his political obituary. The merely voting motifs of Texas suggest the odds are stacked in the Republican's favor.
In 2004 the government reached a historic landmark when its minority populations- Hispanic, African American and Asian- outdistance the lily-white majority. Since then the Latino community has grown steadily, standing today at 40% of all Texans and in turn cringing the percentage of non-Hispanic white-hot Texans, or Anglos, to an approximately equal 42%.
That represents a fundamental demographic alter that every year performs the overwhelmingly white-hot male rightwing Republicans look more unrepresentative of the Texan people. But don't be fooled. The jolt is slow-going to filter through electorally. White Texans still account for the lion's share of those who actually turn out at the polling stations. In 2016, 9.5 million Texans voted in the presidential election, of whom 62% were Anglos.

It doesn't take the significant efforts to find those Trump-supporting, Tea Party-friendly lily-white voters upon whom Cruz's survival depends. The minute you step out of the Austin bubble and head out into the scrubby ranchlands that border it, they are everywhere.
Drive a couple of hours south to Gonzales, a small town of 7, 000 in cattle country, and you enter another Texas. If Austin, with its shining brand-new Google skyscraper, is the face of Texas's and America's future, Gonzales is viewing firm to the past.
The town's claim to fame is that it was here that the first shot of the Texas Revolution was fuelled in 1835 after immigrants refused to hand back to Mexico a borrowed cannon. As they faced off the Mexican legion, Gonzales colonists elevated a homemade banner on which they had sketched the cannon with the words:" Come and take it ".
The refrain has been co-opted by the Tea party as a representation of Texan grit and devotion to grease-guns. Ted Cruz wore a" Come and take it" pennant pinned to his lapel when addressing the US Senate.

A massive' Come and take it' pennant now flies on one side of Gonzales square. On the other side another facet of Texan history is celebrated in the form of a 30 ft article bearing the bronze of a Confederate soldier. The memorial faces north to ward off the invading- and slavery resisting- yankees.
A short-lived drive from the town hub, four cowboys are remaining in the Cow Palace diner after a long morning on horseback. Three cowboys, to be accurate. The fourth, the elder statesman of different groups, says:" I'm a cowman, I predict ."
As he munches on deep-fried steak smothered in white-hot sauce, WR Low, 75, tells me why talk of a competitive election is baloney." I don't think there's going to be a race. No one proportions that guy ," he says, referring to O'Rourke whose appoint he seems powerless, or loath, to speak.
Why not?
"' Cause he's an idiot. His platform's all mistaken. He's against officers and members of the military. He requires everybody to come across the border and get welfare ."
Low thinks that if" that guy" were elected, the cowboys' way of life would be under besiege." We are contending already in rural areas and that guy would lean everybody on aid- all we have left would flow right out of township ."
Out on his ranch, Gary Henderson, 64, is surveying his cows sheltering under mesquite and American oak. He ponders the problem with Democrats is that they repute money proliferates like needles on those trees." It has to stop somewhere- they impede contributing millionaires tax breaks ."
But Trump has just given a $30 bn tax break to souls obliging more than$ 1m a year.
" That's true, but it wasn't political ."
Did you benefit personally from Trump's tax sections?
" Not much. But at the least my taxes aren't going up ."

The adulation shown by small-town and country Texans toward Trump helps explain why Cruz so cravenly needs a helping hand from the man who humiliated him. But it should also be a alerting to Beto O'Rourke.
That foreboding is italicized back in the center of municipality, where the Latino owneds of Milupita Taco House are clearing up after lunch. Gonzales is 40% Hispanic, though you wouldn't know it. The community is virtually invisible, with most people working in meat-producing mills in the environs while those working in township remain an extremely low profile.
Sebastian Esquivel, 21, is one of the cooks in the family business. He has never had voted in favour of their own lives, and in his extended family of about 20 relatives in Gonzales- US citizens every one- he knows of but one who previously gave a ballot.
Esquivel does not recognise the names of Beto O'Rourke or Ted Cruz, and cannot identify their respective parties." To be honest, to me it doesn't really matter ," he says.
What does matter?
" My family and me. Putting nutrient on the table, paying statutes ."
That's what Beto O'Rourke is up against. Entire communities of marginalised voters have been so excluded from the political process- purposefully so, over many years- that it will take more than one luminary applicant in a single political cycles/second to designate them right.
The future of Texas, of America, is in their hands. But it's still information to them.

Task 1:
Me, Myself and I
The first project we were given was called “Me, Myself and I”. The brief instructed us that we needed to create a 30 second video that teaches the audience something about myself. We were also encouraged to show our creativity.
My response to this task stuck to the brief. My video was precisely 30 seconds long and the project took 3-4 hours to produce. This was because I wanted to include as much about me and my life as I could into a short amount of time. To do this I used video footage I had recorded from over the last year with the technique of “cutting to the beat” to a song that I chose because of its lyrics and tempo. The footage included days out, my summer holiday and my experience with the National Citizens Service. The lyrics included the phrase “You’ve got one life to live, don’t let it go” which I thought was appropriate for my video as the video was about my life, living my life and enjoying my life. The tempo was at the right speed that there was enough time to see the clip/shot but it also was able to get a lot into 30 seconds. And gladly I can say I am very pleased with the final result.
The Spoilers Re-Edit
Another task we were given was given in order to build our skills in audio recording and syncing audio with visuals in editing. We were given a muted two minute clip from an action/western film called ‘The Spoilers’. The clip we were given included two characters - one male and one female - talking at the start until they are interrupted by another male character. The two male characters then start to fight and then bring the fight out into the bar which leads to multiple characters fighting. After watching the muted clip for the first time we knew straight away that we needed dialogue, punching noises and far more. We were then given tascams as well as a brief summary on how to set them up and how to use them. The task proved to be very challenging as first time round we struggled to get enough dialogue to place over the muted clip when the characters are talking. Eventually - once we had done all the other audio - we went back to the dialogue. I decided that the best way of getting the right amount of dialogue was to time how long each character talks then write a script with lines that follow how long the characters speak for in the muted clip. We ended up having notes wrote along the line of: “Man1: 2 seconds, Woman: 3 seconds” etc. When it came to the other audio (non-dialogue) I added the diegetic audio first e.g. punches, glass smashing, things being thrown etc. Then I added the non-diegetic audio which included intense action themed music that start once the two male character start fighting. I also added atmos in the background to make sure there was no parts where there was dead air. We were also given the wilhelm scream and taught about the origin and story behind the stock sound effect. We were also told to try and place the sound effect into our audio which I feel we did successfully. In conclusion the task was challenging and it introduced us to just how important audio is.
Health and Safety
We did a task in order to test our skills in health and safety where one of our tutors set up an area in which there was lots of health and safety hazards and we were given a check sheet and instructed to find as many safety hazards that were on the sheet - and were not on the sheet - as possible.
Comparing How Two Films Use A Range Of Communication Methods To Convey Meaning
Baywatch
In the trailer for the 2017 comedy/action film ‘Baywatch’ communication methods such as key conventions are used in order to imply the genre. At the start of the trailer slow motion shots are used of one of the main actors - Dwayne Johnson - and some of the other characters too. The shots show the character running in slow motion as well as Dwayne Johnson diving into the sea with fire above the surface, this connotes the action genre very clearly as the slow motion is used in order to dramatise the shots and the fire is used to connote danger which is a key convention in action movies. The trailer then shows Dwayne Johnson climbing through a yacht that is on fire which directly connotes the action genre further. The trailer goes on to promote the comedy genre by having jokes/funny lines between the main characters as well as having a shot where two of the main characters cut from being on a jet ski to being on a slow pink moped which connotes the comedy genre as it shows them going from an epic action movie styled jet ski to being on a slow pink comedy movie styled moped.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
In the trailer for the 2017 sci-fi/action film ‘Spiderman: Homecoming’ communication methods such as key conventions are used in order to imply the genre. The trailer starts off with intense music, fast paced editing and a gang of people breaking into an atm with a laser weapon/tool. This straight away tells both of the genres to the audience. The intense music and fast paced editing are key conventions that tell us that the film is an action film. On the other hand the laser weapon/tool being used to break into the atm implies the sci-fi genre as they are using highly advanced alien like equipment in order to break into an atm. The trailer then goes to the main character Spider-Man as he stops the thieves with a mini - fast paced editing - fight scene which includes the character using super human strengths to fight and spider like abilities in order to sit on the ceiling. The main character using these super human/non human abilities clearly connote the sci-fi/fantasy genre of the film as these are not abilities that are in the real world. Later on in the trailer there is a shot of a corner shop exploding and setting alight with the main character then running to the shop which further connotes the action genre as explosions are a key convention of action films. Also later on in the trailer there is another shot of the main character using his spider like abilities to crawl along the ceiling of his bedroom. This further connotes the sci-fi genre as it is very clear that the main character has some sort of super powers or inhuman like powers.
Comparison
The two trailers share one genre in particular. This is action. Both of the trailer both include key conventions of an action genre. The ‘Baywatch’ trailer includes a shot where one of the main characters dives into the sea with explosions above him. The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ trailer includes a shot where the main character is running towards a corner shop that is exploding. Here we can see both of the trailers include the action movie key convention of explosions. This is one similarity between the trailers. Another genre that is incorporated into the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming” trailer is the genre of comedy. This is a key aspect of the ‘Spider-Man’/Marvel franchise as they try there best to keep a serious tone in most of their films however they also try to incorporate comedy styled lines in order to make the audience laugh and enjoy the film more. It is very clear due to the key conventions that ‘Baywatch is mainly a comedy which create a link between the movie and ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ as they both include the comedy genre. However the sci-fi genre is not implied within the ‘Baywatch’ trailer unlike how in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ it is the main genre. Within the ‘Baywatch’ trailer there is no key conventions or anything that would be used to imply a sci-fi genre in anyway.
Task 2:
As a class we all went to visit the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in which we were given a guided tour around the building and we looked at all of the current artwork on display. There was a lot of artwork on display at the time as the BALTIC was holding a competition between contemporary artists in which they were given an exhibit to exhibit their art which is then judged by the public. Who ever out of all of the artists gets the most votes wins and they get to create something that will permanently go on display in a public place. This visit was a form of primary research as we physically went out to go look at the artwork with our own eyes. This could have been secondary research if we had looked on the BALTIC+ website instead of visiting the exhibitions themselves as the website is made so that you can only see pictures of the artwork from certain angles and it has all been filtered.
As a group of 4 we went out to record vox pops. We asked people 12 questions about their experience at Newcastle College. We recorded the vox pops with a Canon 600D and a microphone. We wrote down 12 questions that could open up a long/detailed answer in order to get as much primary research as possible. We all took turns on who would ask the questions, who would direct the interviewee and who would film this way we were all able to get a chance at everything.
We also went out as a group of 3 and were given the name of a conspiracy theory. We did both primary and secondary research during this task. We did primary research in the form of going out into the campus and asking both students and staff about the conspiracy theory we were given which was about Paul McCartney. We found that a lot of younger people had not heard of the conspiracy theory but some older people had heard of it. We then did secondary research in the form of looking up the conspiracy theory online and adding to the information we had already gathered.
Primary research is research or information that is direct from the source making it unfiltered and more reliable. Some examples of primary research that we have done is going to the BALTIC, vox pops and asking people about the conspiracy theories. Secondary research is information that is from the internet or literature. Secondary information from the internet is not reliable as it can be posted by anyone or edited by anyone. Secondary research in the form of literature and books is very reliable but limited. It is reliable as it has to be checked multiple times before it is published. It is limited as you are limited to only that book or only that library etc. It is also very time consuming to look through books for the information that you are looking for which is why a lot of people prefer using the internet as it is very fast to find the information you want however it is not always reliable as other sources.
Task 4
For my ‘My North’ video I wanted to make my response to the brief different to other peoples so instead of just going out into my local area and filming local sights as a slow cinematic montage instead I decided to present my video as a journey with faster cuts and upbeat music. My video starts of with myself waking up and getting sorted to leave the house and then doing so. I did this in order to give a bit more depth into my video and to give it more of a narrative. I then filmed a lot of footage of not just my local area put places that I would often be e.g. the coast, Cullercoats and Tynemouth etc. I also filmed some shots that showed myself walking along the coast in order to further more present my video as a journey. I also included signs in order to indicate where I was and what ‘My North’ is to me. I included a sign that says ‘Cullercoats’ in order to inform the viewer that the next set of footage is shot all within Cullercoats which is where I live. Within the shots in Cullercoats there is also another sign saying ‘Cullercoats Bay’ which also helps tell the audience the location that I am currently in. I also kept with this theme by recording the sign that is when you enter Tynemouth which was another location that I filmed at. I also included a sign that indicated the name of a location within the Tynemouth segment of my video which was the sign saying ‘Tynemouth Castle and Priory’. I then finished my video with me walking back into my house to end the journey narrative and video.
