Weiss Schnee, ex heiress of the Schnee Dust Company, one of Remnant best huntresses, Beautiful™️, regular arsonist and will be the one to come up with the "where to bury the bodies" plan in case any of them kill anyone.
Ruby, Blake and Yang absolutely do the dirty work: commit the murder.
I mean, Ruby literally had a panic attack and was almost killed by the Jabberwalker and just as Yang was about to ask if she was okay they got distracted by Jaune and completely brushed what happened to her aside, again.
She had a panic attack mid battle, which as a huntress is literally life threatening. And they didn't have the time to address that. It's not anyone's fault of course. There's a lot of stuff happening. But.
Ruby's anger is justified. Her team is not to blame. It's so complicated and spicy like dayum I cannot wait for the next ep.
Yes, I am sad, but also I love these characters and the series more than anything. That's been enough to cheer me up honestly. I'm really sorry for the crwby team, but also so very thankful for this story they've given us.
So, as I had mentioned I was going to do, here are some Vacuo designs, WhiteRose version first~
I don’t think it really hits everyone that Winter would have died in Winter v Ironwood if Penny didn’t sacrifice herself. Of course Penny didn’t know what was happening on Winter’s side but her sacrifice was the ONLY thing that gave Winter a leg up on Ironwood.
Ironwood trained Winter. He knew exactly how to defeat her once they started fighting because he TAUGHT HER HOW TO FIGHT. They weren’t equally matched. It was an unfair fight!
Looking back, there's actually more symbolic foreshadowing for Whiteknight than I initially realised in the dance arc in V2. When Jaune goes to ask Weiss out, intending to follow Phyrha's advice about cutting out the bravado and just being honest about how he feels, he's holding a white flower to give to her:
But he then sees Weiss asking out Neptune instead, and realising she has someone else she's interested in, he drops the flower and leaves.
Essentially the flower represents his romantic interest in Weiss, but also a potential future of a relationship between the two based on mutual honesty and respect, (following Pyrrha's advice to just be yourself) instead of the false selves they project and initially see the other to be.
After this scene of dropping the flower he stops with his attempts to ask Weiss out altogether. Him dropping the flower is him dropping his romantic interest in Weiss, instead focusing on just being a good friend and looking out for her (convincing Neptune to go talk to Weiss because he knew it would make her happy).
But we see this flower transition into this vase, drooping and wilting at the dance:
...followed by a frustrated Weiss trying to perk the same flower up:
Which seems to foreshadow Weiss later on being the one to take a romantic interest in Jaune in V9, and also being the one to support and reassure Jaune when he's at his lowest:
Which does in turn seemingly cause that potential budding flower of their relationship to grow and bloom again, just as the two of them have been growing into their own true selves over the course of the series.
One thing RWBY Beyond hit me with again is that Yang really is Just Yang™
Weiss, the heiress to now nothing but formerly basically everything, almost a princess, rich and influential and known, granddaughter of a hero child of a villain.
Blake, daughter of the old high leader, daughter of the chief, leader of the forces at haven, a rights activist
Ruby, the girl from the broadcast, the girl who’s rallying cry brought the world together, magically gifted, possibly the chosen one, daughter of hero’s
But when Team RWBY’s story gets told, it’ll be about her teammates destinies, how they were born for this; and how Yang fought for her destiny. How Yang, whose only accomplishment from birth was being the daughter of a spy and likely a guardian in cargo shorts, she carved her story out. In that original quest for an adventure, Yang simply by being in the right place at the right time once or twice will be one of four who save the world.
When Remnant remembers Team RWBY the fairy tales will likely brush over the hardships that RWB went through but it’ll be almost impossible to try and move over Yang’s struggles
