tips on writing!! or maybe ur writing routine? 🥹 im starting a writing blog and idrk where to starttt
oh my goodness whatttt i’m so so flattered anon!! and i wish you all the best in your writing journey!!
first tip: read!!! read anything and everything, especially if you’re starting with a genre you’re unfamiliar with (i.e: for me it was smut bc i’d barely written any before + felt like anything i wrote would be intrinsically bad)
now for more specific things, personally i’m a very visual writer, i have a scene in my head that plays out like a movie and my job is to transfer that movie into words, so taking my time pacing and phrasing things so it’s closest to how i visualise it is a big part of writing for me! in the past with longer/ more drawn out scenes i’ve even stood up and acted them out myself (i acc did this in a hardware store aisle with a fic i wrote back in 2021 for a diff fandom when i was stuck on the playout of a scene and im still so happy with how it turned out)
and also music, esp when writing fics/original stories etc, make a playlist! worldbuild! for me the right song has been the difference between a shitty scene and one with wayyy more oomph, if lyrics distract you like they do me then instrumentals >>>
brainstorm! i always have a seperate note open or a word doc where i write key phrases or dialogue (even if they don’t belong to a full chapter/scene yet, just jot that shit down) then come back on them later for reference!
but most of all, write what you wanna read, not what you think people will want from you! if it’s fic you’re writing, write what you personally would want to read and you can’t go wrong 🤍🤍

Supernatural Fair Fight Livestream Recap with timestamps
(based off of the notes I took while watching live. any errors are mine and not the fault of the cast or abrams)
21:01 Panel Starts. Misha introduces panel- Stacey Abrams, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelecki, Erik Kripke, Berto the ASL interpreter.
21:02 Stacey Abrams talks about how she got into SPN. Talks about running for governor(?) in California(?), having trouble gathering support/campaign funds. On a particularly bad day, ends up watching SPN in her hotel room. Loves it, ends up watching the whole show after this. Quotes “Even if it’s hard we can’t stop” and “who else is going to do this” and talks about keeping going.
21:05 Kripke: “Wow”
Ackles: “That’s one of the most beautiful interpretations of what we do, how we tell the story.”
21:06 Kripke: “Grateful we could provide inspiration”
21:07 JarPad: *reiterates above* joke about how “Kripke’s writing is questionable at best.”
21:08 Misha: “The reason we tell stories is to inspire people” creates an allegory about the ‘invisible enemy’ of voter suppression with the invisible enemy trope common in storytelling. “As we made the show, we were taking inspiration from [Abrams]”
21:09 Kripke asks Abrams to tell more about Fair Fight
21:09 Abrams talks about a secretary of state(?) [whose name I didn’t catch but who JPad refers to as ‘Lucifer”] who was in charge of voter registries in Georgia who wrongfully removed thousands of voters from lists, closed essential polling locations, and prevented people from voting, which disproportionately impacted POC and youth voters, and led to 8+ hour wait times in remaining locations. Abrams tells of how her and FF acted to fix this and change the whole system for the better. “If this becomes about politicians, no one is going to care, but when it becomes about people’s [list of basic rights and essential services]...” “...Patriotic belief that democracy means that if you’re eligible to vote, you get to be heard. Fair Fight is committed to ensuring that every voter in the US has the right to vote, and we are pretty good at it.”
21:16 Misha voices concerns about Trump’s attempts to make the 2020 vote counts seem unreliable.
21:17 Abrams gives an in-depth history of voter suppression in the US, committed by both parties at various times, including restrictions on mail-in votes, ID laws, and something about the voting rights act.
21:18 A bunch more panelists join in, including Jake Abel, Felicia Day, and a number of other SPN cast members.
21:19 Abrams says that in Texas a gun license is a valid id to vote, but a college id is not. “Everyone should get to participate, not just the chosen.” Mentions that she has not seen the final 3 episodes yet, request no spoilers until she logs out.
21:22 Kripke thanks Abrams for her political work.
21:22 Felicia Day says she was very excited to meet Abrams at Dragon Con.
21:33 Misha and Kripke try to move panel along to comply with Abrams limited time availability.
21:24 Rachel Miner “We all admire you [Abrams], you’re our hero.”
21:25 JPad gives a long speech thanking Abrams that was too fast to write down verbatim. “It’s important that everyone have their own voice” says it’s an honor to meet Abrams.
21:26 Bob Singer asks a question about Purdue(?) not showing up to a debate.
21:27 Abrams gives a detailed answer about swing states, swing voters, the lack of swing voters in Georgia, and the relatively small impact that Purdue(?) missing a debate would have on his numbers. Long speech about mail-in voting.
21:29 Sebastian Roche asks a question about run-off votes. Abrams answers.
21:30 Rachel Miner asks a question about voter registration descrimination against people w foreign names.
21:31 Abrams talks about how this has happened and what Fair Fight is doing to combat it, and how Fair Fight’s legal actions have managed to significantly reduce the amount of mail-in ballots thrown out for having difficult to understand names on them.
21:33 Shoshanna Stern thanks Abrams for her efforts in making voting more disability accessible.
21:34 Abrams answers, gives more info on the subject and the importance of having accessible voting locations.
21:36 Jim Beaver says it’s wonderful to be able to talk to Abrams, etc.
21:37 Abrams realizes her time has just about run out, and says thank yous and good byes. Mentions that tomorrow is her birthday. Multiple members of the cast wish her a happy birthday. More goodbyes from everyone, and thank yous to and from Abrams. Abrams exits call.
21:39 Kripke and Misha encourage people to donate to FF
21:41 Misha and Jensen rib each other, joke about an open bar.
21:41 Misha “Now we’re just going to waste your time for half an hour now that she’s gone”
21:42 Curtis Armstrong tells a short story about his mother, who was a voter activist in Detroit and Switzerland, and how nice it was to see Abrams talk.
21:43 Trivia intro. Multiple jokes made at the same time about state capitals.
21:44 Jim Beaver “When my kid was 7, I asked her the capital of Vermont and she said V”
21:44 Kripke asks semi-serious question about what JPad wore as protection in the ball-crusher Japanese game show scene in Changing Channels.
21:45 JPad “A thimble. A mini-thimble. No, a cup.” says something else about the cup.
21:46 Ackles “Our special effects team likes to go above and beyond”
21:46 JPad comments about real fear in that scene
21:46 Misha tries to get trivia back on track. “Without powers, what does Dean say Cas is?”
------[Baby in a trenchcoat]
“Other name of the Impala?”
Julie McNiven guesses “A special place”. Someone calls out “baby”
-----[Metallicar]
“Name of Sam and Jess’s friend who goes with them to the bar in the pilot?”
Even JPad, who was in the scene, does not know. Kripke comments that it was named after an irl friend of his from Tiuanna, named LUIS.
“5 works Kripke ripped off for SPN?”
Everyone guessing at once, including: Animal House, On The Road, Good Omens, Constantine, Star Wars, and several others.
“What herpes medication does Sam have to do a commercial for?”
[Herpexia]
21:52 JPad and Julie rib each other about herpes meds, and argue whether the term is prescription or subscription for medication. One of them brings up the example of having a subscription to dog food.
21:52 Jake Abel “What if your dog has herpes?”
Misha “I only hope that Stacey Abrams has tuned in”
Seb makes another joke about state capitals, then asks JPad the capital of Albania.
Jared has no idea, guesses ‘new albania’
Seb “Tirana” talks about having lived on a boat, presumably near Albania.
Rob Benedict: “Thanks for tuning in”
Bob Singer asks who knows the story of Seb getting a massage at VAncouver airport.
Jared (paraphrased) “We all fly through Vancouver airport a lot. Just past security there’s a massage place [with the chairs where you face the floor].” One day JPad and Ackles went through security and saw Seb getting a massage. They go over, convince the masseuse [who knows them all at this point] to let JPad take over. Seb does not notice, despite the fact that the masseuse is a small woman and JPad is holding his hands weird to try to make them smaller. JPad says he put his hands down Seb’s back and up his shirt, and Seb still did not notice, just making a noise and saying ‘very nice’. JPad gets as far as groping Seb’s ass before Seb notices anything is up. This is still the middle of a busy airport.
21:58 Seb “It was strangely sensual. Thank you, Robert, for bringing that up.” “I was perturbed for the whole flight back.”
Ackles “Another highbrow story”
Seb “It’s really fun being on that set. It really is” Claims they are also serious sometimes, to which there is laughter in response.
Ackles “It going to be like that on The Boys, Krip?”
Kripke “No massages to completion”
Seb “Wait there was no completion”
Krip “Saw photos of [Ackles’s] supersuit today”
Multiple jokes from several people about Ackle costume for The Boys being assless, crotchless, entirely made of paint, and cowboy-themed.
22:01 Misha “time for about 5 minutes of outtakes”
Someone jokes about adding ‘give Seb a massage’ as a donation tier.
Misha thanks the fans, says he loves and misses all the cast. Asks Rob B to sing.
22:02 Rob B “tune into my radio show” [for singing]
22:03 Misha announced that $225,000 has been raised for charity so far in the stream.
More thank yous from everyone to everyone, including the zoom team.
22:04 Seb “Vote out Mitch McConnel:
Jensen “Such as British accent to tell us who to vote for”
Seb “I’m half French half Scottish”
Jensen and Seb joke about scottish and french alcohols, and how they can’t be mixed.
22:05 Kripke thanks the fans for 15 years. Everyone else joins in on thanking fans for 15 years.
Jake Abel “There was a big gap in there for me somewhere”
Seb asks if Jake was in the first season.
22:06 Jake “3rd, 5, and 15”
Seb gives long thank you speech.
Jensen talks about how the cast is sticking together “This group is not being dispersed”...”I take comfort in knowing this” jokes that they’re stuck together whether they like it or not.
Misha “Like herpes”
Felicia “Genital or otherwise”
22:07 gag reel begins, including Misha’s ‘on-camera finger, Jensen falling off a chair “furniture could use some work”, Jensen failing to pick a lock for a very long time and Jared asking ‘Cas” to open it, Jensen saying ‘hail misha’ instead of ‘hail mary’, Misha failing to keep a straight face while looking at Alex Calvert, Jensen eating something too hot(?), and more that someone has probably already uploaded in full anyway.
21:13 stream ends.

p.18 Akari: I got- Akari: Ah… Kazu: Then, my brother Akari: (Geh, I was found out.) Kazu: started talking about going to England to study acting. Kazu: My brother has become more serious about it. Akari: Your brother is aiming to become an actor!! Akari: Amazing!!
p.19 Kazu: …………. Kazu: He can do it even if he doesn’t go to England. I don’t get why he wants to go. Akari: If he can do it there, why not go. SFX: dash Kazu: (Well, that's right.) Kazu: (Did you finish taking a break?) SFX: gasp Kazu: But I don’t if he can have success, though. Kazu: There’s only the risk. SFX: Akari: Ugh
p.20 SFX: gasp gasp Akari: He’s doing it because he want to. Akari: Why is that so bad? Akari: I also want to become a translator in the future.
p.21 Akari: From now on, automatic translations will be getting even better. Akari: People don’t bother to come in between. Everything can disappear. Akari: Now, the things that I want to do might not have any meaning but, it’s what I like, so I’m going to do it.
p.22 Akari: And in that process, if there’s something new that catches my attention, it’s fine as well. Akari: Well, that’s what I think. Akari: ? SFX: gasp Akari: “Alright, this time,” Akari: “I’ll catch him!”
p.23 SFX: woosh Akari: Wah Akari: AH SFX: thud
p.24 Akari: Just kidding! SFX: jump Akari: I Akari: I did it! Akari: i finally caught you….
p.25 Kazu: I came here for you to catch me. SFX: ba-dump Kazu: “We’re close…”
p.26 Akari: Well… well~~~~ Thanks to you, I’m not cold anymore. SFX: fidget Kazu: That’s right. (Yeah!!) Kazu: Ah! That’s it. Kazu: Do you want to go there once again?
p.27 Akari: Wow. It’s really beautiful. Kazu: Yeah. Kazu: You know, my brother, Kazu: From the beginning, he was an honor student. His grades were good and he’d never go against my parents. Kazu: But, it always looked as if he was feeling pressured.
p.28 Kazu: No one in my family noticed that he was being driven into a corner. Kazu: And one day he suddenly exploded. Kazu: And even after that, when my parents and my brother met, things were fine. Kazu: However, because they were pushing the responsibility to each other, they began to fight. Kazu: And things got as they are now.
p.29 Kazu: Looking at that, trying too hard and being driven into a corner, Kazu: As well as being too honest and free are both bad things to do, isn’t it? Kazu: “That kind of talk.” Kazu: If that’s so, then if you do things moderately, I wonder if you can end with all the expectations and despair. Kazu: “I never wanted to bother anyone with this talk.”
p.30 Kazu: “I’ve never talked about it with anyone.” Akari: I get it!! Kazu: “Until now.” Kazu: “To anyone.” Akari: I always thought a lot about how I should behave in my house! Akari: We think about the same things.
p.31 Kazu: “Something I’ve never told anyone.” Kazu: ……………… I Kazu: The truth is, in the future I wanted to work with something related to movies production… Akari: Really!! Kazu: Embarrassing… Akari: Why is that embarrassing? Kazu: It’s impossible. And,
p.32 Kazu: I would have to go beyond the “safe” framework. Kazu: I think that my parents will oppose to it. Akari: Because of that, only you, Inui-kun, will have to hold back? That doesn't make sense.
p.33 Akari: Well. Akari: It’s easier said than done. Akari: Those are only pretty words. Akari: Even I have many things I can’t tell my mom. And thinking about that, Akari: They aren’t necessary at all.
p.34 Akari: That’s how it is! Akari: If they think we are just children and we can’t understand anything, Akari: They are completely wrong, right!! Kazu: Right! Akari: “We might be similar somehow” Akari: “Inui-kun told me about his dreams for the future.”
p.35 Akari: “It makes me happy…...” Akari: Thank you. For today. Akari: I’m glad I was able to eat the cake with you. Akari: And it was fun coming here again. Kazu: Me too! Thank you for inviting me today. Kazu: I was, really fun! Akari: ...Yeah. Kazu: …….. Akari/Kazu: Then…
p.36 Kazu: Ah, you first. Akari: no, please, you can say it first. Kazu: No, it was nothing important. Akari: Me too… Kazu: Ah… Aaah. Akari: ………. Kazu: ………. Akari/Kazu: I missed the chance to say it…
p.37 “Then...” “Let’s come here again next year?” “I want to soon,” “Be able to say those words,” “And with my chest tightened, be able to say that I love you.”
p.38 Rio: AH! Rio: Akari and Kazu! Akari: Aah, welcome back! Rio: What? Were the two of you together? Akari: Yup. Akari: He helped me eat the cake.
p.39 Akari: Yuunaa, how was it? Did you have fun? Yuna: Yup. SFX: Gyah gyah Akari: (Right, right) Rio: What did you guys do together? Kazu: Aah. Kazu: We mostly played tag. Rio: (What? Are you grade schoolers?) Kazu: But,
p.40 Kazu: It was Kazu: the best Christmas I’ve ever had. Rio: (Why is my chest tight?) SFX: holds Rio: Give her back!
p.41 Akari: Isn’t it fine? Akari: You’ve already spend enough time together with Yuna by yourself, right!? Rio: It wasn’t enough. Rio: I’ll cling to her forever. SFX: thud Rio: What!? Rio: What’re you doing, Kazu? Kazu: I wanted to try clinging to you. Rio: Idiot!
p.42 “It’d be good if there was a way for everyone to be happy.” “There’s no way I want to hurt anyone.” “If possible, I want to spend my days happily.” “I must always make my choices with that on mind.”

Note: if you doubt I’d observe these things from just a class with you, then I’d like to let you know that I noticed the buttons on my Chemistry teacher’s lab coat weren’t standard issue, and that someone I don’t interact with named after a gemstone was wearing said gemstone. This isn’t that far of a stretch.
Remember when I said even surface-level appraisal would make me put you together with Akaashi? Well, let’s go back to the school analogy.
I am getting the most limited view of your personality possible here: you happen to sit in front of me in one class. Generally, as one does (or at least I do), I take notice of your existence. We’re in the same space here; it’s inevitable, and I’m somewhat observant.
Taking what I know of you now, I’m assuming solitarily you’re a studious person. Sure, there’s the occasional zone out because that happens to everyone, but you pay attention. Even when you don’t, you still manage to make ends meet with whatever work you’re doing. I wouldn’t take note of the mental fatigue you probably experience doing so, as that’s private and I doubt you wear your emotions on your sleeve, but I’d notice you’d get things done.
So I establish you’re a thorough and well-read individual.
I notice your stationery. You’re somewhat on the organized side, and you lean towards cool or more pleasant toned colors.
You’re overtly nice when I (awkwardly) ask to borrow a pencil. You’re polite.
(I’m doing improv here, but I have the distinct feeling you do this.) You stay after class to ask the teacher questions when you find a subject interesting. You’re naturally curious.
I’d go so far as to say I would even think in the realm of Haikyuu or anime in relation to you unprompted at that point, considering I make connections to real life and fiction on a day-to-day basis normally.
You’d remind me of Akaashi, or traits Akaashi would find desirable. I’d think you two would work well together; romantically, platonically, professionally, or otherwise.
Would I have contemplated it to the extent I do now? No, because I wouldn’t know you as well. But it would still be a distinct thought in my mind. That I wouldn’t mention, because I wouldn’t know you like Haikyuu!! too.
i take receiving an analysis as thorough and as lovely as this as an honor of the highest level, so i’d like to issue a calm thank you filled with sincere gratitude before i scream and keyboard slam in just a few moments <33 thank you so much for this absolutely stunning piece delusion !!
now that i’ve done that HELLO THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER DIWKDKWKDMWMXMWNFNE 😩😩😩😩🥺🥺🥺✨✨✨😩😩😩✨✨✨✨🥺🥺🥺😩
THE FACT YOU COULD MEET ME FOR A FEW BREIF MOMENTS AND AUTOMATICALLY PUT ME TOGETHER WITH THE LOML — I AM SUPREMELY FLATTERED, IVE GOT BUTTERFLIES HXWNDJWNDKWKDNWND 😩😩😩😩🥺🥺😩😩😳😳🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
all the areas you’ve chosen to elaborate upon are all accurate — well, potentially aside from the fact that i’m organized (unless you’d consider having a brand of ones own organization as organized, my parents consistently tell me off for not being orderly at all!)
THESE ARE ALL AMAZING ?!?! i would lend you my entire pencil case in gratitude
IM STILL SMILING IFWNDNWNDKWKDNWNDNSN THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY LOVELY
i remind you of keiji and traits keiji finds desirable 🥺🥺🥺🥺 you’re making me feel like i’m his dream girl, my heart 💕💕💕
i’m also actually an akaashi kinnie 😌 so the delusion perception has picked up on other facets of my personality (BEYOND THE SCREEN WOW) yet again
i loved this so much delusion, thank you <3

a/n: now I‘m on the roll for poh and stuck with scartale. seriously, brain? what the fuck???
it’s so hot and sticky and I hate summer!!!! ;-; I need ma cold! I can’t write when it’s so hot ;-;-;
You and Frisk sat down on the couch as you brought out your knitting supplies and books. Frisk was more relaxed with her lack of the hoodie after you gave her a dark purple shawl that you had knitted for your mother a while back to cover her bare shoulders.
To be honest, it made you more relaxed as well.
"I do wonder what you did at the end with the scarf and gloves that I gave you," You said while showing her your unfinished sweater. Frisk shrugged and curled on the couch, looking even smaller than usual since the shawl was huge on her.
"In my room. Didn't want to dirty them," Frisk mumbled into the shawl, eyes watching your moving hands intensely.
"Makes sense, but their purpose is to warm you, hood," You rolled your eyes, "Not to be decorations."
"Sorry…"
"Don't be. Winter is coming so you might as well use them. If you need replacements, I can always make more."
"Oh…"
You hummed and returned your focus to your knitting, reaching your second sleeve when you felt Frisk's head fall onto your arm. Nearly dropping your tools, you snapped your head to the side to see Frisk curled by your side, shoulders rising and lowering slowly. Small snores left the hidden face.
They fell asleep?
You snorted and shook your head in amusement. Of course they did, Frisk just loved to be a strange little bugger.
Well, it's not like your hands were restricted or anything so knitting it was.
Soon, you were done with the sweater and stared at it in pride. It was a perfect replica to the sweater you had worn. Grass green with a light tan stripe. Asriel always liked to joke that it seemed as if you were wearing two parts of a sweater with a stripe of skin showing.
Well, you finished the sweater and you weren't going to wear it since it's half your size...
What was even the point of making that sweat?
Oh, well. Time to relax.
You placed aside the knitting tools and wool, picking up the book you were in the middle of and reclined into the couch and continued reading, Frisk still sleeping by your side.
You slowly read your way into the mind of the protagonist as they ran to find the next piece of evidence. Your living room washed orange and yellow by the setting sun, warming your body soothingly.
A pleasant hum coated your awareness, bringing your mind into a strange numb sensation as your body felt heavier and heavier. The words on the page kept fuzzing out so you lowered your hand.
It won't hurt to close your eyes for a moment…
A strong earthy smell evaded your nose when you felt yourself surface back from a deep unconsciousness. You blearily blinked, your body still pleasantly heavy, burying your face deeper into the warmth.
A soft snore vibrated through the warmth and you slowly begun to notice the feeling of hair tickling your nostrils and the warm wool your arm was wrapped around.
Hair? Wool?
You forced your heavy head to rise, yawning and raising your free fingers to rub at your face, looking down to see what you were holding.
Frisk was still curled next to you, but now with their head on your chest and your arm circling their waist. Warm exhales puffed over your chest and the covered skin under your hand bent easily, the muscles under sturdy.
Heat came up your neck to your face and ears, but the heaviness of sleep and the memory of the previous time that you two fell asleep in the same place helped you not panic and simply bring Frisk closer, sleepy eyes looking over the new version of your date-mate.
When you saw her face for the first time, it seemed pretty ordinary, albeit still mysterious. But now, Frisk looked like a human-sized content cat… a really adorable one…
Cheeks burning, you looked away for a moment as if afraid of being caught staring, but soon you looked back at her, marveling at the changes from the silent mysterious kid with the ninja-moves to a quiet woman with the need to scare you half to death.
You slowly thought back to the confession of Sans about who Frisk really is to him.
You knew that you didn't hear all about Frisk's past yet. You knew about her life before her father whisked her away. But then what? How did she become a homeless? How did her father pass away? How long was she alone?
You brushed her hair back, chuckling when she gave a loud snore at your action. Good thing her voice was soft already or you will have problems sleeping with the snoring…
Damn it, Chara.
You sighed and leaned back onto the couch. Frisk sighed and clutched your shirt with one hand. You blushed and untangled her fingers, only for her fingers to latch onto yours, holding onto them in a death grip.
"Seriously, Frisk?" You rolled your eyes. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?" You jumped at the sudden voice, embarrassed beyond compare at being caught.
"You were awake this entire time?!" You exclaimed in shock. Frisk yawned and shook their head as if trying to shake the sleep off.
"Entire… time? You moved me…" Frisk grumbled, clearly not happy with being awaken.
You stared at her for a while before snorting and looking upwards in exasperation. "Of course. I ended up with the only anti-morning person I know."
"Anti morning?" Frisk asked, pulling her hair away from her face and accidentally dropping the shawl. The woman stiffened for a moment but then glowing eyes stared at you for a long moment before she relaxed and retrieved her shawl, pulling it over her quickly.
You gave a lop-sided grin. "You know you don't have to worry around me."
Frisk shrugged, rubbing their eyes and giving a loud yawn. They shuffled off the couch, having to catch themselves before stumbling to the tea table, and begun to trod towards the closet room.
"Actually," You stood up and nearly sat back down at the wave of dizziness that hit you, but you simply breathed in and waited for the dizziness to pass before grinning and pointing at the door across the closet room. "She might be in her room."
"Oh…" Frisk's steps slowed. You passed by her and knocked on the door, stepping back when footsteps thundered and the door opened to reveal your mother with a set of glasses on her nose.
So she was reading.
"Mom, you know that it's better to read in the living room rather than on a chair," You rolled your eyes. Your mother giggled and shrugged.
"I didn't want to wake you up. Besides, I was working."
Oh? "You got another project?"
"Yes!" Mom clasped hands happily, some worry lines appearing over her forehead. Despite looking young for her age, she was already in her mid-fifties and her albinoism had caused her skin to be susceptible to wrinkling. Mom looked to your right and beamed. "How did you sleep, Frisk?"
"Good…" Frisk mumbled, approaching her and raising a bit of the dress' fabric. "Return this to you?"
"Oh, I was actually thinking of giving this to you as a gift," Mom dismissed her offer, "I never wore that dress even when I was younger and it looks really good on you."
"Oh…" Frisk looked down, cheeks showing a tint of red. You smirked at that.
"Well, do you want to do anything else before we call it a day?" You asked your mother, motioning to the clock. It was after eight in the evening. "It's getting pretty late."
Mom pondered over this for a moment. "Let's see… we had the lunch, we looked over clothing. I even brought out the baby album—"
"Wait, what?!"
Mom begun to laugh and Frisk snorted into her hand, looking away when you turned to her. You turned back to your mom.
"I don't even have a baby album! You adopted me when I was ten!"
"You have your kid album~" Mom giggled. "You were very adorable when you were a ten years old. I did say I was going to show her your embarrassing photos."
You gawked at her, opening and closing your mouth like a fish.
Frisk patted your arm but you refused to meet her eyes, knowing that she was probably thinking of you as a stupid kid.
You were really clingy back then. You kept following Asriel around, clinging to him whenever you felt scared. Asriel liked the attention and the confidence boost, but you felt so ashamed and embarrassed afterwards…
God, you were such a messed up kid.
"You like your brother a lot…" Frisk mumbled and you flushed.
"…" You didn’t know what to say.
"It's good…" Frisk continued, a strange tone accompanying her words. "Familly is good. He seems like a good brother…"
She sounded pensive.
And then you remembered.
Frisk doesn't have a family.
She never had a brother. Never had a mother. All she knew was her father and then she lost him too…
She probably didn't see you as a silly kid. she saw you as a kid with a brother and a mother and a father.
Was she jealous? Was she sad?
Wow, you can be such jerk.
"I spoke out of line, Frisk. Forget I said anything," You raised your eyes to her, seeing her gaze as intense as usual. She didn't seem to be effected like you thought she would be.
Until she shrugged, the hand on your arm trembling a bit. Mom didn't seem to notice so it wasn't noticable.
Like hood always was.
But Frisk showed more and you saw how her lips were pressed thin and her eyes narrowed strangely.
"Come on, Frisk," You sighed and nudged her to the door, waving goodbye to your mother, who rushed into the closet room and brought out a bag with Frisk's clothes.
You grabbed the bag and escorted Frisk out, closing the door behind you two. Frisk pulled the shawl tighter, still wearing the snickers fortunately.
You walked until you reached a bench. You placed the bag on it and sat down, patting the space next to you the confused woman.
"Wanted some place mom won't hear." You explained. She 'oh'ed and sat down. You placed your elbow on your thigh and rested your cheek on your open hand, staring at your date-mate, who was staring back.
"What?"
"You don't have to hide it, you know," You blurted out. She blinked and you rolled your eyes. "Do you really take me for a dense guy? I do see it when you seem like you're about to cry."
"…Blunt…" Frisk muttered, her hands on the shawl tightening.
"Sugarcoating is never a good idea with you, Frisk," You snorted. "Besides, I hate lying."
"…Sorry…" Frisk looked away.
"Why? I made you upset by whining about being photographed with my family," You raised a brow. "I should be the one apologizing."
"…Oh…"
You stared at the silent woman for a long moment before sighing and sitting up, patting Frisk's hair. " I don't know what it means to lose my family so I can't really help with this or be sorry for your loss. But I'm sorry for making you upset."
"Too blunt…" Frisk's face was hidden from you, but before you could say anything, they shifted closer and made an awkward spread of arms.
You gave her a long look and then laughed, shaking your head as you pulled her closer. "You're too awkward, Hood."
"…Hate that nickname…" Frisk grumbled, arms embracing your waist as she buried her face in your chest.
"Makes me want to use it more then," You cackled and then yelped when she pinched your sides hard. "Hey! I was being nice!"
"You weren't…" Frisk snorted.
“You really need to fix that nice radar of yours,” You grumbled.
You two fell into silence.
You felt wetness spread on your shirt and something twisted inside you as you felt Frisk begin to shake.
So like with the laughter, Frisk only knows how to cry quietly?
You held her close, not commenting on the uncomfortable feeling. Slowly, small gasps and sniffles were heard and Frisk's arms were crushing you.
"Frisk, too tight."
She loosened but still held on tightly.
You sighed, rubbing her back.
So even the mysterious ninja woman could cry, huh?

Walla Walla isn’t just a town in Washington, it’s a world-renowned wine region and culinary destination. I had the chance to not only sip my way through the Walla Walla Valley but to nosh my way as well. Food and wine lovers, take note, Walla Walla restaurants are wowing it on the culinary front.
Sunset Magazine has called Walla Walla one of its favorite small-town foodie havens.
My marketing background made me laughed when I heard the term, “It’s the Walla Walla Way”, but there is a way in Walla Walla that’s unmatched by other popular wine regions I’ve visited. It’s rare to see the winemaker or the chef working when you’re visiting, let alone have them sit down and talk to you. Not in Walla Walla. It’s literally the way they do things…at least for now. This paired with excellent wine and ridiculously good food is one of the key ingredients to what’s wowing the Walla Walla restaurant scene.
Here are a few of the top Walla Walla restaurants I highly suggest you check out. Let me know your favorites in the comments.
Hattaway’s on Alder
One of the newest kids on the Walla Walla restaurant scene, Hattaway’s on Alder, is wowing everyone right off the bat. In 2018, Lindsay and Richard Hattaway, both Alabama natives moved to Walla Walla to pair what they call “local inspiration with Southern tradition”. In other words, the intimate, downtown restaurant does a fun twist pairing local ingredients from the Pacific Northwest with cooking traditions of the South. Along with good ol’ Southern hospitality. (Thanks, Chad!)
Hattaway’s on Alder
One of the things I really noticed during my visit to Walla Walla was how supportive and friendly the local community is not only with each other but to visitors. When speaking with Lindsay, she confirmed this when she mentioned it was really the people who drew her and Richard to the area.
The couple – both chefs – had been wanting to change things up with a move out of state but hadn’t fallen in love with a destination. A friend of theirs continued to invite them up to their place in Walla Walla, when they finally accepted and visited the “wow” came into play. It took visiting once a month for six months and an invitation to a dinner party to make them realize Walla Walla was home. Hattaway’s on Alder was born.

The seasonal menu is ever changing
Pimiento Cheese Appetizer – Delish!
Community is what brought them to Walla Walla and community is what they’re dishing out. With the huge, open air kitchen being the center piece you feel like your somewhat a part of the action when you’re dining. This paired with local ingredients, an amazing wine list featuring local wineries and what feels like a menu filled with gourmet comfort food, home and community is all baked into one.
When you go to Hattaway’s on Alder you’ll find their seasonal menu ever changing, making it worthy of visiting every time you’re in town. If they are still offering these – Pimiento Cheese Appetizer, Celery Parmesan Salad, Pan Seared Halibut Cheeks with Homemade Grits – make sure to try them. OMG, delish!!! The Celery Parmesan Salad has forever changed how I view celery. Now, if I could only figure out how to recreate it… Walla Walla is a little to far for me to visit every month from Denver.
TMACS
TMACS isn’t new to the Walla Walla restaurant scene but its location is. Set in the historic downtown on N. Colville St, the local Italian restaurant is dressed to impress. Its new digs include a great, open bar area along with a hip sit-down dining room. The menu includes a variety of locally sourced produce, meats, sea food and pastas.
I have to say, for as long as I have lived, I’ve never liked gazpacho, until now. I know it’s only a seasonal item but TMACS creamy gazpacho should be a signature dish that never leaves the menu. That’s just the appetizers, the rest of the menu gets even better. This Walla Walla restaurant is one not to miss.

Walla Walla Steak Co.
The Walla Walla Steak Co. was named one of Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s “America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants” in 2019, and for good reason. Set in the revamped, historic train depot, this Walla Walla restaurant serves a local experience with every dish. From the wine and beer in your glass to the produce in the tomato burrata salad (OMG- delish!) to the melt-in-your mouth filet. Everything is paired with outstanding hospitality. (Ask for Brian – he’s amazing!) Seriously, this is an amazing restaurant and excellent addition to the Walla Walla food scene.
Walla Walla Steak Co.
The Marc Restaurant
The Marc Restaurant at The Marcus Whitman Hotel was named “Restaurant of The Year” by the Washington Wine Commission. The restaurant offers an excellent fine dining and wine-pairing experience in Walla Walla. Make sure to check out the Winery of the Month Pairing menu that is offered. It’s an awesome way to taste what Walla Walla is all about.
  Fiasco Wood Fired Pizza
So this isn’t really a restaurant, it’s actually a food truck. But, I totally can’t get over the whole food truck scene in Walla Walla. (So many wineries have food trucks out these days – more to come on this!) So, I feel like Fiasco has to be included. The wood fired pizza that husband and wife team, Judy and Tom Bennett are making is beyond good. Their story is even better…albeit the fig and rosemary pizza they do is pretty killer.
#gallery-0-23 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-23 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-23 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-23 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Judy and Tom Bennett with Fiasco Pizza, photo by Carpe Travel
Friday night at Tranche Winery, Fiasco Pizza is on duty.
Tom worked as a cook during his college years but then traded in his apron for a corporate desk job. Judy’s past life was in physical therapy. The two decided to change things up last year, after all life is short so do something you love. The pair went to Italy. Studied the art of pizza making. Came back to Walla Walla. Bought a vintage truck. Had it outfitted with a wood fired oven and then got into the Walla Walla food truck scene. Today, they’re living the dream!
According to Tom, it’s a much healthier lifestyle too. Since he started Fiasco, he’s lost 30 pounds, eating pizza every day. That damn desk job will get you every time! Now, I just need to know the cooking classes they took. When I tried to recreate the fig and rosemary pizza, I didn’t do it justice… Take a peak over at their website so you can find the food truck’s next location in Walla Walla. I’m betting it will be paired with an amazing winery.
  Andrae’s Kitchen
Saving one of the best for last… Andrae’s Kitchen blew me away. I was skeptical when I had been invited to have lunch in a gas station. Seriously…it’s in a gas station where you can pay at the pump and run in to grab a Snickers bar or Cheetos. I never would have thought you’d also be able to pickup the worlds best Cuban sandwich.
Andrae Bopp is an award-winning chef who graduated with top honors, from the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He spent time working in some of the world’s finest restaurants including, Bouley, Danube, Balthazar and Le Bernardin, a Michelin Three Star restaurant. Then he opened Andrae’s in Boise Idaho, which was not in a gas station. A few years later he and his wife decided to change things up and moved to Walla Walla where he started a Underground/Pop Up Dining Series that turned out to be a hit. It also paved the way for Andrae’s Kitchen.
Before opening his Walla Walla restaurant in a gas station, Andrae went retro with a food truck. Andrae’s Kitchen became one of the first mobile food trucks in the Pacific Northwest and fueled the rage for the food truck scene in Walla Walla.
I didn’t have the chance to see the food truck in action because again, I was fully immersed in the gas station experience. Which, by the way is cooler than I anticipated. Who knew there could be a gourmet restaurant in a gas station. The kitchen is set to the left of the building with the sit down dining area off to the side. After you order your food at the counter, you can fill your wait time by buying a scratch off ticket or perusing the different variety of flavors Cheetos comes in these days.
#gallery-0-24 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-24 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-24 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-24 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Make sure to visit Andrae’s hungry and it’s even better to go with someone else who you can split dishes with. Thank, God The Husband was with me, there were so many things to try! The AK’s Corn Salad is totally ridiculous, in a good way. It’s grilled Mexican street corn that’s been taken off the cobb and mixed with parmagian cheese, cayenne pepper, lime juice and aioili, served on a bed of tortillas and topped with fresh cilantro. It’s totally simple and totally ridiculous. I don’t think I’ll ever eat corn the same way…
And then there were the Trifecta Tacos that included a chipotle braised short rib taco, a smoked brisket taco, and a braised pork taco. OMG… Then, I was introduced to the worlds best Cuban sandwich and the Voodoo Fries that are hand-cut fries topped with pulled pork, pickled pepper and Crystal Hot Sauce aioli.
#gallery-0-25 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-25 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-25 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-25 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
AK’s Corn Salad & Cuban
Voodoo Fries
After eating at Andrae’s my stomach was too full to do much noshing anywhere else but I’ve been advised to check out the Walla Walla Bread Company and GRAZE. Both are supposed to be excellent places to grab breakfast and/or a sandwich for your wine tasting picnic lunch.

‘We the Animals’ and ‘Snowpiercer’ Actress Sheila Vand Is One to Watch (Exclusive)
“I’m much more interested in being an artist than an actor,” Sheila Vand tells ET.
For the 33-year-old Iranian-American actress, putting art first has meant a move from Los Angeles to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and a slew of unique roles in ensemble-driven indie films. Her latest, We the Animals, a restless and imaginative coming-of-age story, premiered at the 2018 Tribeca International Film Festival this week after winning an Innovator Award at Sundance. (The film will open in theaters in August.)
Based on Justin Torres’ celebrated novel of the same name, the movie stars Vand and Raúl Castillo (HBO’s Looking) as working-class parents to three boys whose unbridled energy propels the story. “I was excited that the book and the movie don’t shy away from the complexities of how we love each other, and how we love ourselves,” Vand says of the family’s volatile dynamics. The cast and crew lived together over a six-week shoot in upstate New York. “We were all fully immersing ourselves into this experience -- in some way becoming these animals.
“I think the deeper we put ourselves into that, the wilder we all felt,” she continues.
Now one to watch, Vand first got her break when she landed a small role as an Iranian housekeeper in Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning Argo. The role resonated with audiences so much that a scene resolving her character’s fate was added to the final cut of the film.
“Because of whatever it was that I did, the vulnerability I brought to the character, people cared about that one Iranian in the movie,” Vand recalls. “I was able to show this giant studio, ‘Yeah, of course people are going to care about the Middle Eastern role.’ That was a big thing.”
More critical acclaim came with her first starring role in A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, a vampire-Western genre mashup shot entirely in Farsi, which she learned growing up in Palo Alto, California, to Iranian parents. “When you act in a different language it’s like an extra layer of character,” she says. “It’s nice to have that extra separation between reality and when the fiction begins.”
Soon, Vand found herself in more mainstream projects, with roles in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, State of Affairs and 24: Legacy before moving to New York, to feel immersed in culture that inspires her and to pursue more meaningful work.
That began with Aardvark, which premiered at TIFF last year and opened in limited release earlier this month. The film stars Zachary Quinto as a schizophrenic man whose therapist (Jenny Slate) winds up in bed with his movie star brother (Jon Hamm). Vand completes the unlikely pairings as a romantic interest to Quinto’s character. “I really felt like that was the beginning of finding parts and stories that I thought were a little more fulfilling than some of the other jobs I’d been getting,” says Vand, who will return to TV with TNT’s anticipated TV adaptation of Snowpiercer.
“I want to stretch my imagination, I want to see what’s beyond this world that I already live in,”Vand says. On the series, she plays what she calls “a treasure chest of a character” opposite an ensemble cast that includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright and Lena Hall. “The writing is not like any TV writing I’ve ever been involved with before. The storylines are so complex. It’s a lot more character-driven, I think, than the movie,” she says, adding that it will offer fans a deeper dive into the world created by the graphic novel and Bong Joon Ho’s 2014 film.
The liberty to make bold, more selective choices at this point in her career seems to be paying off. “I have finally started to gain the courage to say no to things that don’t inspire me, and from the moment I started doing that, better work began to come my way,” Vand says. “I’m learning to trust in my own abilities and to believe that I have a right to be here,” a feeling she recalls having while shooting another upcoming film, Vulture Club with Susan Sarandon, Edie Falco and Matt Bomer. “It’s another one of these strong ensembles that I just felt so honored to be a part of and to play with actors whose work I’ve admired for so long. Those are the moments where you’re like, Wow, it’s really happening, I’m really out here on the playing field.”
Vand is ready to create her own opportunities, too: “I feel full of stories… I think there’s a real thirst for more stories told by women and people of color, and I want to be part of that tidal wave of change.”

Thank You! Hope Does Heal! This book is so inspirational & spiritually uplifting! My husband & I have been members of the church Jay's father pastors, First Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL, for almost 33 years. We even kept Jay in the nursery when he was about 18 months old. We have walked with their family through this tough journey, but it was wonderful to learn the details of how God brought Jay & Katherine through it in their own words. It has truly helped me as I have been dealing with a storm in my own life, assuring me there is hope in God's ultimate plan. Thanks to them for their willingness to be so transparent. They have allowed God to comfort them & they are passing that comfort on to others (2 Corinthians 1:4). I praise God for the miracles He is still working in their lives & in mine! Hope can heal!! In love with this story. I can't even tell you how much I loved and enjoyed this book! I'll try. It's wonderful, marvelous, fabulous, awesome, amazing and remarkable. I absolutely love that it is so very well written. Both Jay and Kathryn know how to tell a story. I love the story. It's real and raw and heart wrenching and all sorts of sad and oh so lovely. God has shown up yet again and turned what could have been a colossal wreck into a beautifully charming love story. The world needs way more Jay Wolfs in it!! I've listened to Katherine tell her story and she is crazy amazing. I have been completely enamored with this sweet family ever since! Everyone should read this story. It's beyond spectacular for so many reasons. The Wolfs have turned their "mess" into a "message" and they have so so so much to say. I learned a lot from both of them and I love them for that. Get. This. Book! Go to Amazon
A must read Heartwarming and such honesty. I love how openly they wrote about their experience. I had the honor of having my book autographed in person at my National Rally where they were guest speakers. Everyone should read this book, it will put your own life into prospective that anything can be overcome if you have hope & faith. Go to Amazon
inspiring story! This was a truly great and inspiring story. Amazing! I ordered a 2nd copy to share with a friend. She started reading it yesterday and is having the same problem I had-- she cannot put it down! I am going to purchase another copy for an engaged couple and suggest they read it together if possible, as it is a great picture of the kind of commitment God intended marriage to be. Go to Amazon
Deeply moving What a powerful story of hope over despair. Beautiful and young Katherine had a brainstem stroke, which almost always ends in depth. Her story of facing debilitating disability and not losing hope, as well as her husband's love and perseverance gives inspiration to anyone facing difficulty. Go to Amazon
Heart Changing Book I don't think I have read any book outside the Bible that took me back to places in my life that needed HEALING ,pain of a different kind THEN what this dear lady and her faithful husband went through. I do know the pain of life's surprises that can change LIFE forever. The pain of my childhood sweetheart telling me that he didn't love me anymore and he was leaving after almost tens years of marriage and two beautiful children. Jay' s LOVE for Katherine blessed me in so many ways. And the phone call telling me my 37 year old son was killed in a car crash. But this awesome book touched me and brought release in the secret places of my heart that I wouldn't let God in. I could not put this book down. I cried a bucket of tears for them and then I realized for me too as the Lord brought certain days and words spoken to me that I couldn't seek to get over. Something wonderful has happened as a result of reading this book. I can't explain it I just know I feel like my heat of stone has been changed to heart of flesh. I'm 66 years old and hope has healed my wounded heart thank you so much for sharing your story. I don't believe that anyone could possibly read it and not be changed for the better. So yes, I recommend that anyone who has a heart read this book! Go to Amazon
Soul Captivating! Modern day miracles are not always visible to the masses. Neither is the calling of God. Jay and Katherine Wolf, and their boys, are called by God to teach the power of hope. This book made me cry. It made me remember the things God has done in my life. It made me preach the wisdom of Katherine Wolf in a sermon. When she articulates, so magnificently, the challenges she faces and how alike they are to the core challenges of being human - no one can read that and nit be humbled and awe'd at what God has accomplishe in her. The way the Wolf's write about what they learned about suffering - with humilty, with honesty, and with wisdom - it is no less than exceptional. These are two voices that will continue to grow in wisdom and stature as voices speaking into our culture with their very lives. This book will captivate your soul. Go to Amazon
