dating sean diaz hcs pt 3

sassy man apocalypse is real

- does that thing where he lights ur cig/joint/whatever like he did w lyla at the beginning w u ALL THE TIME. in fact he will purposely offer u one just so he can do it. he absolutely loves it and he has no idea why

- if ur not a smoker at all he thinks u coughing up a lung is cute in a weirdly endearing way! he pats ur back while laughing and urges u to try again bc he can be a bad influence at times LMAO

- whenever u guys sit together in class sean has a natural tendency to start doodling on ur arm. some days he just does one or two cute little drawings and other days hes a whole fucking tattoo artist. u walk around school with whole arm sleeves for the rest of the day

- “don’t move (y/n) im drawing the tentacles”

- “sean u said u were gonna draw a little rose…”

- he will look up rlly quick at u and goes back to drawing the kraken LMAO

- u draw like one little dot on his paper and u guys start fighting over it 😭 by the end of it theres 50 micopenises on his paper and u have a HUGE detailed penis on urs bc sean is extra asf

- sean loves messing with ur hair. after a while of dating he will just walk by u and ruffle ur hair at school. honestly, a part of him likes doing it and just fast walking away bc he can hear u complain in the distance LMAO

- hes weirdly into the unkempt look...

- bf air is real with him. if u wear makeup, u always leave his house with smeared lipstick and smudged eye makeup. not even bc u guys were getting down (sometimes) but just bc u guys are constantly play fighting

- u almost always text sean later saying how embarrassing that was and get mad at him for not telling u the whole time

- daniel, being a blunt kid, tries to say something abt u looking like a mess when ur about to leave and sean just slaps his hand over his mouth. daniel makes indistinguishable whining under his palm while sean ushers u out the door 😭 he chooses not to tell u bc he loves when u look like a mess, stray hairs and everything.

- despite u not liking it AT ALL he draws it in his journal later while kicking his feet LMAO

- sean is very prone to accidents. it doesnt help he loves risky activities (ex. skating) which causes lots of scrapes and bloody noses

- he likes when u wipe his nose with a tissue with a concerned face it has him feeling pampered asf.

- when u get close to his face with a swab and nag under ur breath abt him doing stupid shit he just goes “ur right it wont happen again” while trying to suppress a cheeky lil smile. he loves it when u care for him and act bossy/motherly in general 😭 does this imply the void karen left is very big and wide? maybe! he lacks self-awareness in this department tho.

- all he knows is gf take care of him = feeling like a snug bug in a rug

- hes a dork but also a gentleman so hell do backflips to hold the door for u and make sure u walk on the inner part of the sidewalk. when u refuse to listen he gets mad and forcefully drags/shoves u 😭

- i feel like u guys are such a night couple. sean just enjoys places better when its dark tbh. plus u guys are always up to weird antics so… u guys get to be as loud as u want and nobody is out to hear—and boy r u guys loud

- VOLUME UPP on ur guys favorite songs in some desolate area and screaming the lyrics in sean’s car is ur guys' THING. u guys start acting out the lyrics and dancing bc both of u feel so comfortable with each other

- the thing is u guys r always doing separate dance interpretations. chronic engagement in parallel play 😭

- except sean stops like a deer in headlights when he hears a crunch. sean is a scaredy cat tbh he def snapped his neck to look at where the noise came from. both of u guys slowly turn ur heads to each other and sean immediately starts the car. u call him a party pooper and hell just keep shaking his head instead of responding LMAOO

- "we're not staying here that's some white people shit (y/n)"

- considering sean grafittis, i feel its an almost given for him to know all the local abandoned places in seattle

- at first u were totally creeped out by the dark corners but sean made it a point to keep u safe and comfortable! sean was acting like a lil ninja and kept peeping around corners. the whole way there he awkwardly semi-rotated around u like a shield bc u couldnt decide whether being behind or in front of him was scarier LMAO

- he was also a lil smug bc he finally gets to the be the one whos not scared. he does the MOST to look cool in front of u

- “squatters better not snatch my girl around the corner…” u just look at sean in disgust 😭

- sean used to HATE the phrase “my girl” and thought it was so corny. he started using it ironically bc both of u guys thought it was funny and now he cant stop 😭

- when u guys got to his spot u were smacked in the face with all his VIBRANT beautiful work. u walked up to each of them like a museum exhibit and sean stood behind u rubbing the back of his neck all embarrassed

- sean does a little one dedicated to u! u watch his concentrated face; his furrowed eyebrows and occasional lip lick before he turns to u with a shy smile!!!! he gives u the spray can and guides ur hand to put a little smiley face + ur initial next to it

- since then, u guys always made it a small thing to leave ur marking everywhere. u guys r the couple that etch their initials into trees, benches, etc 😭😭😭 im sick.

- sean keeps a sharpie in his pocket just so u guys can do an impromptu grafitti sesh

- on nights where sean doesnt feel like seeing daniel u guys go to empty parking lots. he does little skate tricks while u sit there in his hoodie complaining about something and he exclusively replies in "right" and "mhm”

- u get annoyed thinking hes not listening and then he responds word for word what u said PLUS his interpretation 😭 shuts u right up

- sean acts like he doesnt love girl gossip but hes a closet chismoso. theres this little curious glint in his eyes whenever u starting talking more passionately and he stops skating just to sit next to u on the sidewalk w u and tune in

- ud be dropping hot gossip and sean would do dramatic ass facial expressions. his eyes would bulge out his head and his mouth would drop LMAO. he hollers “what??” after u drop big details too

- he doesnt like anyone u dont like and he supports u blindly ALL THE TIME. even when u backtrack and think u did something wrong he reassures u that ur right with a deadpanned face

- he lowkey a little instigator bc he always feeds ur delusions

- sean and u have like two screws in ur heads combined so when u guys call u just sit in silence and try the filters. literally all u can hear for half an hour is nose huffs from sean and screenshot clicks when u change to another filter

- u guys will start talking with ugly filters over ur face and sean's eyepatch and parrot filter starts glitching when he turns to tell daniel to get out of his room LMAOOO

- both of u guys are weird as hell bc the call will be going on for another five hours and sean will be in the kitchen with a horse head eating cereal. neither of u guys are questioning it at this point

- tbh u both can be kind of tmi with one another 😭 u guys say “eww” to each other so often but it doesnt stop either of u LMAO

- best friends who are also lovers is a must

also i associate steve lacy with sean sm like infrunami, SOME, bad habit, and Uuuu is what i envision when i write these hcs. when steve lacy was trending it was such a good era 😭😭 oh and also i associate los retros with sean heavy

WOW! Your latest artwork is just... wow, amazing! I love how you made the sky in the palace, the furnace and, of course, our monkey (insert joke about how hot he is hehe). When I heard that Wukong is put in a furnace, I just thought that Heaven is not kidding. Do you think that after your Wukong married Sophie he opened his heart about what he felt that day? Or he already got over it (if that's possible...). By the way, seeing Wukong crying broke me 😭(although it could be angry tears too).

Hello! Thank you so much! I'm very proud of that piece honestly! And it was a lot of fun drawing it! I feel like Wukong might open up about the furnace to Sophie in time. He already mentioned it to her in the Journey but very casually. Originally there was no fire in the furnace, but I wanted to add it for a more dramatic look, but the fire didn't hurt him. He just got a bit crispier. I think Wukoing would take the furnace and stay another 49 days rather than being under a mountain for 500 years if he had to go to those expensive ones again. It's more uncomfortable but it lasts shorter. Being inside of that furnace sometimes haunts him a little in his dreams but with time it becomes less and less 'traumatic' to him. Now it's more like a bad memory that happened to him and doesn't bother him. Besides he wants to focus on more important things. Ah, don't worry! Wukong didn't cry when he came out :D It was because of the smoke that made his eyes look like what they are today. I made this quick doodle of a comparison of before he was yeeted into the furnace and what he looks like when he comes out. So yeah his eyes watered for 49 days bc of smoke and fire.

He got permanently a little bit crispy and his fur is not as soft as it used to be but he's still a handsome lad!

heey, I'd have a wholesome request. The prompt is that it's playing in step 2 so they're stupid teenagers who have a crush on each other, and gn!reader is waiting on the beach for Cove to spent the day with him. Cove is taking a bit, so reader is decides to pass the time by doodling into the sand. They already have a couple sand-doodles down, when they have the impulsive idea to write Cove's name and draw a heart around it. They planned on doing it quick and scribble it away before Cove arrives.

but to their bad timing, he arrives behind them exactly the moment, reader is drawing the heart around his name.

I'd like to see you write this scenario down and how Cove reacts. It's meant to be a sweet, wholesome and slightly awkward "caught red handed" moment. I hope this prompt seems fun :D

cove is... stunned to say the least.

he knew he was taking awhile to come meet you at the beach, having got caught up with helping his dad move some boxes to his car, but he didn't... cove didn't expect to come see you drawing a heart around his name...

he wants to cry. scream. run, but he also wants to collapse n bury himself under the sand because his crush is drawing a heart around his name!

"um.. uh..." oh god maybe he will try to run away to nevada again.

you freeze, your hand that was covering your flushed blissed out face now covers your embarrassment.

deciding that this can't get any worse, you play it off. "h-hi cove.. I was waiting for you." fuck your voice cracked.

cove doesn't respond. he can't, his head is spinning, and all his blood has rushed to his face.

taking a deep breath, snapping out of his thoughts as you call out his name again and tug on his shorts.

"cove? are you uh, are you okay?" you smile awkwardly, "still breathing, right?"

he nods, and before you can say anything else cove crouches next to you.

your breath hitches. he's so close...

while you're busy admiring the way the breeze makes his hair flutter around his face and how the sun shows every shade of blue in coves eyes...

"t-there..." cove looks away, hiding his own face this time but it's fruitless since you've already noticed.

you look back at your doodle, and next to it is your name in a lopsided heart, one of the edges over lapping the heart you drew and the point that connects both sides of the heart leaves a lot to be desired.

but it's overwhelmingly cove, and it has your heart pounding all the same...

"you.." you run a hand down your face, covering your mouth with your fingers. "you're so cute..."

cue internal screaming.

cove feels some of the blood returning to other areas of his body, and with a bit of clarity, he reaches for your hand with trembling fingers.

looking at you with a wobbly smile, he intertwines your fingers with his. "so uh... wanna surf? I brought my other board..."

1 - 03/09/2023 : really wanted to draw Ru n Toni in some eveningwear, was a fun opportunity to draw Toni a bit more masc... shes so hot wtf!!! i love these ladies

2, 3 - 04/09/2023 : a Trixie pen doodle, which I ended up turning into a full digital piece..... which i procrastinated on for months, but hey at least i Did finish it! also a little human TTTE au doodle... its Diesel and hes silly... i doodled him in the oingo boingo only a lad pose bc, damn, he really is only a lad

4 - 05/09/2023 : another human Diesel, i did end up tweaking a lot of these initial human designs, so don't get too comfy with em, but oh my.. could it be... Goopy makes another boingo reference? how peculiar that never ever happens..... anyway Perfect System is my fave Diesel song.. in my head is an AMV that will never be made

5, 6, 7 - 06/09/2023 : first, some ideas for my human Edward, thought i might as well include these, for the craic i guess x ... then a rare one of Toby (i havent drawn him since.. i should change that) and Diesel, then that one barbie meme with Edward n James, dont get comfy with either of these designs coz they're not sticking x

8 - 07/09/2023 : a pencil drawing emerges.. Eddie again, with his initial design i was gonna go with, i think the side profile is especially cute..

9 - 09/09/2023 : aaand heres the design i've currently settled on! im much happier with this, and its one of my fave drawings of last year, even if its nothing too special, hes just so cute, and thats really it

Can you give me a few art tips i want to be able to draw sin kiske too

I am not the greatest at explaining things or giving advice. These tips are just what many artists have already said and points that *I* personally agree with or have helped *me*. The reason why I am putting emphasis on myself is because everyone is different so what helps *me* might not help you. These things you will have to figure out yourself, BUT there are many MANY art tutorials from different artists with different styles so maybe you can find something there! Anyways moving on-

Don‘t think too much and just DOODLE DOODLE AND MORE DOODLING

I am serious, turn that brain off and start doodling. I had this mental barrier for sometime (that I am still struggling with) where I just didn‘t feel confident in my art and didn‘t even wanna START drawing, bc I felt like everything sucked ass. But just turning that brain off and mindlessly doodling is so SO great because it doesn‘t have to be perfect or anything AND through the repeating motions of sketching you‘re training your hand to become better at making nice smooth strokes. Sketching mindlessly is honestly very theraputic for me, cuz I just get to have silly fun. There‘s no pressure in doing things. AND sometimes doodling mindlessly can lead to great ideas.

Tracing/Referencing

Ik there‘s lots of discourse about tracing and referencing in the art community, but I can only tell you that this has been extremely helpful for me and getting my anatomy right. While tracing helps getting the placements of body parts and lines right, referencing really helps train your eyes what to look for. You‘ll start to recognize familiar shapes that are prevalent in almost all body types or certain things that are almost always there in nature. Tracing can also help you get more familiar in the way that you draw certain things. These techniques are all about familiarizing yourself with whatever you‘re trying to draw (bodies, faces, landscapes etc) and engraving it into your mind. Ofc if you decide to post something where you traced or referenced something it‘s always good to show your sources, but this is mostly something to do in private.

Take breaks, treat yourself with something nice :)

Art can be tiring, so be sure to always ALWAYS take breaks when you feel like its about to get frustrating and maybe eat something, do something else to replenish that art juice, yeah? Breaks can last however long you want. Whats most important is that you won‘t start hating the process cuz this shit can be mentally taxing so breaks are super important. Even if the break takes a year or something, art can always wait and its not like you‘ll immediately forget all your skills that you have gained yk? Maybe you‘ll get rusty but muscle memory is one hell of a thing. You‘ll get the hang of it in no time!

Get shiggy wiggy with it

What I mean by this is to just have fun. Art is supposed to be enjoyable, so I say go crazy, go stupid with it. Like who gives a shit if its stupid or cringe? Just have fun! Don‘t let someone ruin the fun in art for you, okay? These people stink anyway smh my head… they just don‘t understand the joy of creating a beautiful art piece about ur favourite charaters doing dumb shit or kissing each other. (Just uh… don‘t get illegal with it)

Get obsessed with something. I am very serious about this

Unironically, getting obsessed with a character or franchise has helped me a lot to keep being motivated to draw. Like a character that just makes you so so happy that you just keep drawing them (I mean, look at me 💀), which goes back to the first point. Being obsessed with something can keep you drawing something for a long time. And it gives you a big ass serotonin boost. However-

Try something new!

Drawing the same thing over and over again is great, but it can get stagnant really quick. So sometimes you have to try something new, stuff that might be difficult or things you aren‘t really confident yet (like hands. Yeah I know, its a nightmare). Doing this will make your skillset much bigger and may deepen your understanding on how stuff works cuz this art stuff is really interconected. Like, if you know one thing then maybe you can also do the other.

Take it slow. Be easy on yourself

There is ALWAYS this constant need to improve. Especially on social media, where artists are expected to improve in lightning speeds or post the perfect art pieces (and tbh some of these might be self imposed too). But you really, you don‘t. Just enjoy it at your own pace, be proud of the stuff you made. Save it, keep it and look back on it to see how much you‘ve improved. Don‘t view art as something you need to be perfect at, but just as something that makes you happy. An outlet for your feelings. Something to do when you‘re bored. Or stuff like that, cuz it‘s really not that serious UNLESS you want it to be like a job or something. So be patient, because art is a marathon, not a sprint. There is no need to hurry.

Aannddd if you wanna be able to draw Sin specifically then channel your inner whimsical creature, become jolly, be silly and get shiggy wiggy with it :)))

wanted to doodle a quick comparison of some of the dsmp characters i draw the most bc i don’t talk about them in detail but i lot of thought into it and deliberately make them look quite different to their across.

c!tubbo has a broader face/chin, thin lips and brows, large and downturned eyes, and a larger, aquiline nose. he’s both meant to be sorta cutesy, with big expressive eyes, but also look strong and older than c!tommy (and c!ranboo, tho i didn’t draw him here bc his features are less human) to represent how being forced into the positions he was aged him before his years.

c!tommy has a very round face with chubby cheeks (and the cleft chin i caved on that), thick brows and thicker lips, a button nose, and slightly sharp, large eyes. he's meant to look very baby faced and almost doll-like. both because it’s a hilarious contrast to the not at all delicate or innocent c!tommy, and to represent how he was infantilised and basically not allowed to grow up due to his trauma effecting him so badly (along with the fact he's stuck at sixteen due to how i depict revival). it’s meant to be a tragic contrast to the injuries constantly covering him.

c!dream has a thinner, more triangular face, with thin brows and medium sized lips, a pointy small nose, and thinner, very sharp eyes. he’s also meant to have a noticeable resemblance to c!tommy- not exact, but their features are just similar enough they almost look like brothers. his features are specifically meant to be attractive in a very androgynous, fae-like way. i think c!dream would be very beautiful and take advantage of the halo effect it brings. the androgyny and fairy-like features are because i have him as a sort of proto-fae, species wise, and his species (which is just him at this point basically) is monosexual and therefore doesn’t have any sexual dimorphism.

Like mentioned before, his hugs are literally life changing.

Like this man could hug you once, and it'd make you question the whole trajectory of your life.

He's very big on hand holding, I like to headcanon that he stays cold, so if you give off a lot of heat, he's never letting go of you.

Even though he gives great hugs, he doesn't really like to give them to just anyone.

He kinda saves them for the ones he loves specifically.

He likes giving you kisses all over.

Your hands, your nose, your shoulder, your forehead, etc.

He likes when you give him hugs as well, if you randomly walk up behind him and just hug him.

It gives him butterflies

Food (bc I'm writing this while I'm hungry)

He isn't too big on cheese cake tbh.

I mean he likes it (who doesn't like cheesecake 🧐??) But it isn't his absolute favorite.

He prefers those carrot cake rolls.

Because carrot cake rolls are absolutely scrumdiddlyyumyumious.

He likes to cook, but he also likes when you cook.

He loves coming home to a warm meal after a hard day.

He doesn't demand you cook for him or anything, but he thinks it's a nice surprise.

Affection

His love language is gift giving.

He likes to leave you little notes around the house for you to find.

As a partner, he's a sweetheart.

He blushes really easily.

If you reciprocate the same kinda physical touch, he'd turn as red as a tomato.

He's a very good listener, he loves the sound of your voice.

He could listen to you for hours, and still never get bored.

He'd spend all his money on you, and be happy to do it too🤌

He doesn't have the "aesthetic" kind of anger issues, he genuinely has to hold himself back.

I promise you he's not listening to mother mother when he's mad, he's punching trees and shit.

When you're sad, he'd give you one of them life changing hugs, and draw you a little doodle to cheer you up.

Protectiveness

He's not the most protective person, but he doesn't let anyone try you yk?

Like for instance, take Jeff the killer, Jeff is like a Chihuahua. biting, (not figuratively, he had to get a rabies shot one time. ) and yapping at anyone that gets too close.

Masky is more like a body guard.

Only intervening when he has to.

He's not the type to look through your phone, or follow you everywhere.

He trusts you enough, that he feels he doesn't have too.

He's not a pushover though.

He won't just stand there if someone is flirting with you or anything.

If someone was flirting with you, he'd just give them a confused look, then he'd turn his eyes from them to you, and back again.

If they continued, his eyebrows would knit, and clench his fist.

That's how yk shit is about to get REAL

Holidays

Valentine's:

He likes to get you your favorite flowers, some candy, and to snuggle up and watch a movie/show.

He doesn't really like Valentine's, he thinks it's kinda stupid, he can't explain why though.

(truth is, he's still harboring hate for it from when he was single) (he's just like me fr 🫂)

Christmas:

He likes Christmas, mainly cause of the lights, and decorations.

He loves decorating for Christmas.

He doesn't really like receiving gifts though, he doesn't know how to accept them.

Especially if they're nicer than the gift he gave.

He's more of a giver, than a taker.

Halloween:

He loves Halloween.

It's his favorite holiday.

He loves dressing up, and scaring people.

He also loves watching Halloween movies.

Even the shitty ones.

He likes to buy big bags of Halloween candy a day after Halloween, cause it's on sale.

(I couldn't think of anymore holidays sorry)

General headcanons

He's about 5'8-5'11.

He's chubby, but he also has a little muscle mass.

He likes to take extra care of his hair

He has like 3 brands of shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer 😭

His favorite food is lasagna 🤌🤌

He smells like maple, vanilla, and cigarettes.

(the maple and vanilla, is him tryna cover up the cigarette smell.)

He collects butterflies.

Yk how people will find dead butterflies, and frame them? He does that in his past time

He takes LONGGG showers.

Like 50 minute showers.

Y'all's water bill is high as hell 💀

He sleeps all over the place, on his side, on his back, one leg off the bed, on his stomach, you name it.

He snores too.

Not extremely loud, just loud enough to keep you up if you're not used to it.

He's terrified of cockroaches.

This man would fight a coyote, but a cockroach flies towards him, and he's down.

He wears glasses occasionally, only when he's reading something.

AHHHHH this is such a good question.. I always want to say a real pencil in my hand is the way to go even after all these years doing digital art but last year I don't think I did any traditional art at all... It honestly makes me so sad that the only time I do any traditional work is during Inktober or Sketchvember.. when the months roll by I just think, "ah darnit another year goes where I only do traditional work as part of a game." Man I just think traditional is when I'm at ease and most relaxed bc I can just feel fluid if I'm drawing for fun, but with digital you can really clean things up to look really good. A part of the reason I enjoy doing the yearly holiday cards when I ACTUALLY SEND ANY is that it's a time I can do special traditional art for my friends to make them really happy. I think I'm good at digital art but am even better with traditional, but I don't think I can say that anymore if I haven't really touched a pencil in recent years. It might be the opposite now, my traditional work lacks the precision and finesse of my digital work but since I have art supplies I PAID for and HAVE TO USE I have a tendency to experiment with traditional media more. I am STILL buying loads of art supplies to this date..

9. How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?

HNGNGHGH it really depends.. Ah, average day? Hmmm when I'm on fire I might say at least 2 hours a day, whether it's to work on a quick doodle or to continue a more time-consuming piece. There are days where I might spend 4-6 hours. The craziest for me for one day might be 8 hours-- with or without breaks in between.

12. Is it okay for people to ask you about your process?

YEAH ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS it's no secret. I always did the circle/stick man base but when I really got into One Punch Man in 2012 or so when Murata-sensei was streaming, I noticed he skipped that step and went straight to defining muscles, limbs, faces, etc. I thought DANG if I could do that I could draw SO MUCH FASTER and SO MUCH MORE!! It was horrible at first and I hated a lot of my art while I was trying out this new thing but now I'd say I'm fairly decent and it does get me to do more art faster.

Anyway! My process is to start with a pose idea. The timing on this varies, but I usually thumbnail with little stick figures until something sticks. If there is one I like I might blow it up or redraw it on a larger scale. I always start with the face shape and eyes first. It helps me get a good idea on how to frame the hair. I cannot feel I am drawing the character until I get this right. I'll then detail until I color. I skip a line art step most of the time because I clean my sketches along the way ((I KNOW, RISA)). If it's a piece I'm serious about being a "best" I might seriously do a line art layer but I usually have trouble because I can never find a comfortable inking pen AND I feel line art makes my art suddenly stiff. I used to never color but I try to do it as much as I can because I have always admired my friends for their bold colors and I told myself that that's my own personal goal to have more colored work.

15. How long does an average piece take you to complete?

If it's a fairly simple/rushed drawing that is semi-refined that can take me about 2-4 hours? I can get a lot done in just 1 hour as well thanks to all those Mob Psycho 100 60 min challenges. But if I just take my time drawing something that I don't particularly hate I'd say 2 hours is a good average. For a more detailed one with backgrounds or groups or lots of detail, that could take me at least 8 hours of actually drawing. The hours spent into references/getting ideas/thinking of a background add to an illustration's turnaround time even if I am not actually moving a pen.

My 2022 summary of art!

I haven't really been consistently posting my art anywhere for the past year or two, but I figured I might as well still do a summary of art since I like doing them.

I was reluctant to put any arpg stuff on here since that's generally just doodles, but I ended up having to since I was so busy with 3D modeling some months that I didn't have any other completed pieces from those months to show.

JANUARY

The sketch is from some point in 2021, but I didn't clean it up or color till later on in 2022 so I'm counting this drawing for this year lol

I realized that I haven't finished many drawings of her so I decided to fix that with this one.

APRIL

More Spring fern!

This time, surrounded by fern-like palm trees. Because ferns.

I liked choosing the colors for this one a lot

Whisper, but she's a merfolk instead of a scalie (Whisper is normally an axolotl)

In peak irony, one of my rare humanoid drawings was the only piece I felt like posting to my FA

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I actually tried doing mermay, so this gets to go on the list too (got 2 drawings in before I got bored and quit)

JUNE

Strudel flash prompt that I drew quickly

I wasn't digging the set of many sequential but connected prompts, which is why I ended up going for a different look.

Which reminds me, I don't think I've logged into toyhouse for a while now so there's probably a bunch of missed connections since I put a bunch of characters UFT. Will fix that later!

JULY

Ah, good ol' artfight month.

I liked how this drawing of several of Nul's forms turned out the best, so this drawing gets the spotlight for this month. (Nul and all variants belong to @kitsicles)

I had a stye in my better eye for a noteworthy part of this month, so I couldn't draw as well as I wanted to and ended up simplifying high effort pieces because of that.

I was really busy, so my favorite thing was a meme drawover I did with some OCs. 500% cannon to their oc lore.

DECEMBER

I was initially going to put the deer, but remembered that I actually drew it last year and just colored it this year because I forgot about it until I was digging thru my files for mostly complete wips.

So instead, I'm putting this partially complete drawing of Ring I was working on

It's not done, but it's complete enough to count for this year imo.

Got a song stuck in my head that made me wanna draw my huntershipping son, Mercy!

Although in the end I gave up trying to draw the pose I wanted to put him in (since i just wanted to do a “quick” doodle) I took this opportunity to try experimenting with other things! Like shading (bc i still fear it), expressions, and making gifs! I made 4 different eyes and 3 different mouths plus a darker shade..thing..(idk what do u call it) across the face and mixed and matched them and then picked which ones to gif. Sadly couldn’t use the 4th eye set (the wide eyed small pupils one) in the gif but I got every combination possible down under the cut! The pics down are a bit different though because I made some last minute adjustments but I didn’t want to redo the gif again (already did about 5 times).

Had a lot of fun experimenting with this hahah!

And, Mercy. I think the easiest way to sum him up is he looks and acts like a mini-Gold at first glance but the more you get to know him the more you find out he’s not as nice as he seems. He genuinely loves his dads and doesn’t want to make them too distressed about what he does so that’s one thing keeping him from straying too far into villainy.

Meeting:

-He was quite surprised to say the least when you poofed in front of him.

-Seems you’re surprised too....

-Are you ok?

-The fact that you seemed to recognize him didn’t surprise him at all. His resemblance to the numerous sanses does that.

-Were you part of a new au? Just created and dropped into existence?

-He helps you up and asks you exactly that.

-You blink at your surroundings and then stare at him for a second.

-Was there something on his face? What’s the matter? Is it the ink splat?

-When you explain that he’s a fictional character in your world he’s a little shocked.

-How intriguing.

-He scans all the multiverses he has a current eye on. None seem to match what you’re talking about.

-You and him can look around for a way back to your universe if you want! He’s quite curious to see it!

-After some time of traveling through multiple aus, he’s lost steam.

-It seems he can’t help you find your way home after all.

-You’re understandably quite upset by this as well.

-Your life as you knew it is no longer accessible to you.

-Ink is quick to comfort you, eyes changing shapes as he excitedly grabs your shoulder, asking if you would want to stay here in his doodle sphere with him.

After You’ve stayed for a while:

-It had been a while now, and you were actually pretty close with ink.

-It’s one thing to like a fictional character.

-It’s another to actually know, interact with, and feel the character.

-He was fun. You both joked around a lot together.

-The fact that you understood almost everything about him made him just trust you more.

-He should find it disconcerting but he just trusts you.

-He’s realized how close he’s grown to you, but hasn’t said anything.

-He’s noticed how you look at him.

-He doesn’t really...have feelings.

-He doesn’t want you to have to put up with him and his psudo feelings.

-That doesn’t mean he hasn’t felt the rising feelings of genuine attraction and happiness when spending time with you.

-You were just so unique, unlike anything in the whole multiverse!

-You didn’t even have a little heart soul pop out when in battle!

-You explained to him souls didn’t work like that where you were from and he was so floored.

-You’re so amazing!

-You seemed slightly embarrassed.

-You tell him that he had heart eyes.

-Does this mean you’re a couple now? He’s not sure.

Finding Out About your Powers:

-It had happened when you were trying to explain to him what something was by drawing it.

-He just didn’t understand.

-You had become a bit frustrated and slammed you hand down on the paper and it suddenly poofed into existence in front of you two.

-You both paused, staring at the object for a second before looking at each other.

-WHAAAAT?!?!?!?!

-He’s shaking your shoulders excitedly and his eyes are rapidly changing shape with every blink.

-It never occurred to him that you would have the same abilities as the artists and creators of aus! Of course! He works with them! How could he not have thought about this?!!!!

-He’s rapidly asking you to try and create various different things!

-This is amazing! S/O! You’re amazing!

-He’ll have to try and find a way to keep Error from knowing about you.

-He wants you to be safe.

-After a few more creations he notices you start to become faint.

-He quickly travels to a random au and grabs some food for you.

-Maybe you shouldn’t push your limits too much.....

When You Pass Away Trying to Make him a Soul Heart:

-You had told him this idea before.

-He had to stop and think for a second.

-No, S/o. He’s sure he’s fine as he is now.

-He would be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about it though.

-He thought you had both agreed upon this.

-So when he enters his doodle sphere after coming back from another au, he’s shocked to find you standing there, paper in hand, a small white heart drawn on it.

-S/o what are you doing?!?!?!

-He’s scrambling to get to you when you activate your power.

-The sheer force flings him back several feet.

-Every color of the rainbow flashes before blending into a bright white light.

-It takes him a second to focus his vision.

-There is was.

-A small glowing white heart bobbing above your fallen form.

-He surges forward, grabbing you and lifting you up, completely ignoring the heart.

-S/o?

-S/o!

-You are no longer breathing.

-In fact its as if all color has been drained from you.

-As if you were a photo and someone lowered the saturation to dull tones.

-Once it clicks in his mind he pulls back from your limp body as if it burned him.

-S/o....what have you done?!

-YOU BOTH AGREED THAT YOU WOULDNT DO THIS!!!

-He has half a mind to destroy the heart, the very thing that took you away from him, until the tip of his phalages touch it.

-An overwealming warmth and feeling of love envelops him.

-Tears pour from his sockets as he drops to his knees, memories of you both rapidly flashing from his mind.

-It becomes too painful for him and he lets go of the soul.

-He carefully puts it in a vial, strapping it safely onto his belt with the rest of his paint vials.

-His paint would have been enough, S/o.

-His paint would have been enough....

-He takes your body and buries it in your favorite au, then drinks whatever paint combination it takes to take away the feelings of loss and despair.

-He moves on afterwords.

-He never touches the soul heart you made, but he keeps it.

-His only link to you.

hey there! I just wanted to say that I really love your role reversed AU. If it's alright, could I draw some fanart of it? And are there any wardrobe changes/hairstyle changes that are different from canon? ^^ (sorry if this isn't worded well)

YES YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR OFFERING AT ALL????????

Also yes there are some changes to the role reversed au designs compared to canon!! Visual art is uhhh not really my specialty so I don’t really have good references or anything for their designs (aside from like...some quick doodles that aren’t very detailed OTL) but for rr Kalim I do have this and this! The second linked piece’s base lineart wasn’t drawn by me, but I did the coloring and some minor detail corrections :D

Here are some design notes and details that may not have come across very obviously/been represented in those art pieces:

rr Kalim dresses a lot plainer than canon Kalim does (ex: no gold jewelry)

The cloth around his head stays the same with each uniform he wears, and the gold thread pattern is supposed to look like mist or wisps of smoke (I also never draw it the same way twice LMAO so dw about that)

He doesn’t typically roll up the sleeves of his school uniform cardigan, so they often go over his hands.

The front of his hair is a little longer, to the point of almost beginning to cover his eyes (to hide a scar)

He wears dark gloves around the same length as shown in the second ref pic (past the wrist, going about 1/4 up his forearm)

I haven’t really thought of anything else or come up with a solid design for his dorm clothes OTL

Unfortunately I uh. I have no reference pics for rr Jamil (sorryyyyy) BUT I can list a few things about what I currently have in mind for his design so far! Character design is Not My Passion so it takes me a while to figure these kinds of things out 😔

Despite being the Rich Boy™ of the rr au, Jamil isn’t completely decked out in shiny and expensive jewelry, though he does wear some additional gold/accessories on top of what canon Jamil already has. This is bc he’s hiding his status and wealth to avoid having his genuine efforts at the school tarnished or stolen by his family name.

He has a gold snake cuff earring on his left (our right) ear. It curls around his entire ear and has little eyes made of rubies. (Something like this, probably)

Similar in design to his earring, he also has a gold snake hairpin that passes through/wraps around the braids closest to his face (I may have explained this one badly OTL)

Instead of a red feather coming from his hair tie, it’s three short purple ribbons (once again I feel like I’ve explained this badly, waaa)

I haven’t really thought of anything else so far, so this is all I can offer you in terms of information 😔 I hope it’s enough, and thank you again so much for offering to do fanaaaaaart ;u;

Do we get to see any interactions between wee Logan and his babysitter? bc they sound precious together!

After about an hour or so of scrolling through his phone, Remy had admittedly got a bit bored. Logan still hadn’t come back down from his room to say or do anything and the house remained uncomfortably quiet.

His eyes scanned the living room, as pristine and clean as it was. Completely different from other families he had babysat for.

Usually there would be toys scattered across the floor and the mess was so big you could hardly walk. The floor would just never be seen again. Here, there were no toys in sight. Not even a chest dedicated to playthings. This really was an odd family. Not so much for the fact that they were un-ordinarily clean, but for the fact that there was nothing around that even showed they had a kid, especially not a kid Logan’s age.

Brushing the thought off briefly, he went to do a quick search around the house. It was more to snoop around the place for possible gossip material, but the other part of it was how he actually wanted to get somewhat familiar with the house’s layout. Digging through drawers, looking through cabinets and cupboards, innocently of course; all of which were actually interesting in the least.

A bag of bags, drawers full of pencils and pens, paper and such else, silverware, etc, etc.

The Prices really were boring people.

The only thing that had even caused a little bit of interest was the pencils and papers. Taking out a wad of blank paper and a pencil, Remy retreated back to his previous spot and pulled his knees up to give himself a bit more a stable make-shift desktop.

It was about 7:15, only fifteen minutes into doodling idly—since he really had nothing better to do—when he heard the door upstairs open for the first time in two hours. The soft padding of feet coming down the stairs was the next thing he registered. Remy’s attention turned for a second, noting where Logan was before turning back to his drawings.

The quiet held for a moment as the kid walked past him while trying to be as quiet as possible, but from the corner of his eye he saw how Logan had paused, watching curiously as the pencil moved smoothly across the paper.

Remy wasn’t creating anything intricate or astounding—it was really only to pass the time.

Again, that rock came and sat heavily in the pit of his stomach. After a minute or two of letting Logan watch, he finally turned to face the little boy himself. This action nearly startled Logan enough to reel back.

“S-sorry,” he stammered out after a minute, ducking his head down and keeping his eyes on the floor. “I‌— didn’t mean to make you stop.”

“It’s okay, Logan,”‌ Remy assured him. He tilted his head to the side, considering an idea. “Do you want to draw something?”

Logan shook his head immediately. Then he paused. His face crumpled in a conflicted expression.

“I’m not any good at drawing,”‌ he said instead, taking a step back and getting ready to head back on his mission to go to the kitchen when Remy held a new piece of paper and his pencil out to him.

Logan hesitated, wide brown eyes blinking in surprise at the supportive intensity in the teenager’s motions.

For the first time that night, Remy watched as Logan turned his big hazel eyes up to his own. A confused innocence fluttered behind the gaze and Remy smiled encouragingly. “Well, you’ll never know if you’re good at drawing if you don’t try, right?”

“…I guess,”‌ Logan allowed and after a heartbeat passed between them, he reached forward and grabbed the writing utensil and paper and looked at it. As if he was trying to decipher a secret message written in invisible ink.

Remy’s smile fell slightly, seeing the expression. Kids were almost always super excited to create, Logan looked as if that had been wiped out of him. Uncomfortable with that idea, he patted the chesterfield beside him and nodded him over. Logan took his invitation and clambered up onto the sofa as well, crossing his legs as he studied the blank paper.

“So,”‌ Remy said, two minutes had passed in contemplative silence. “What are you gonna make?”

“I dunno,”‌ Logan’s answer was so down-pat. As if it was a reflex to say it. His brown eyes than moved back up to Remy’s, a soft pleading look in them as if to ask permission. “What about a knight?”

Logan was tense, as if he was getting ready for his ideas to be shot down. Instead, Remy tapped his chin in an over-exaggerated movement. “And a dragon?”

When his ideas weren’t stamped out, a tentative smile slowly broke across the five (and a half) year-old’s features. “Yeah.” Logan drew a couple lines on the page, trying to figure out how he wanted to fix the knight and the dragon. He then scrunched his nose in thought. “They don’t have to be enemies, do they?”

Remy shook his head, leaning further back on the couch as Logan began to scribble more onto the page. “Of course not,” he grinned, watching the smile from before grow into something more glowing. “They could be friends or they could be partners that work in tandem to save the princess.”

“The prince,”‌ Logan corrected absently, more focused on his task, beginning to work on the knight and his armour. “Princesses always get saved, but what happens if the prince gets captured instead?‌ Can’t the knight and dragon save him too?”

Something warm bloomed in the babysitter’s chest and he nodded, if a bit eagerly, with a wider grin. “You know Logan, you’re right. Who else would save the prince? I didn’t think of it like that.”

The excited light that flickered behind those thick glasses was incredible.

Remy didn’t usually bond with the kids he babysat. He didn’t get to know them that well, either. But little Logan Price—chatting at him happily about how the knight and the dragon duo rescued the prince from the evil kingdom—was something completely different.

He was a kid that needed a more nurturing touch and while that wasn’t Remy’s area of expertise, he did know how to listen to the little tyke ramble and he did know how to make him feel listened to.

“What if the dragons’s fire doesn’t come from the lungs,” Logan said, looking up to the babysitter with that passionate creative glint in his eyes, “it could come from a gland in the back of it’s throat instead.”

“Fascinating,” Remy agreed, sliding closer to Logan, his arm going to wrap around the back of the couch. He leaned forward a bit more to see the picture better.

Truth be told, Remy didn’t care about dragons or knights or princes or fairy tales but listening to the excitement Logan had for them after being gently prodded made him care a hell of a lot more.

Actually!!! I spent the past week sitting on this question, but im finally able to compile (most of) i have a bad memory and theres just so many, you see) the hetalia artists ive admired. ill write up a little blurb on each so you can know what to expect

warning, this is super long

I’m going to list my fav Prussia focused artists first:

@theknoflook is SO SO SO good at capturing the worn/rough-round-the-edges Prussia and they’re 100% the BEST at drawing the aged feel of him. They draw a lot of characters with human imperfections, it’s just such a RAW emotion I feel from each drawing.

@maplevogel I’ve admired since I was like,,, 13. You have no idea how much I want to be able to draw like them. Their watercolour illustrations are KICKASS!! They have such a sense of mystical-ness to each piece, everything is so unreal in what they draw it gives me such a sense of calm-ness. Constantly they’re using watercolour to it’s full extent, im EXTREMELY floored and always have been.

@mieudiary is another person ive admired since i was a absolute baby. Their art teeters on anime-realism and their use of lighting, shading and blending is SOOOO GOOD. They’re able to make their characters so real yet overly gorgeous lol. They’ve got the best damn detail in form/muscles (flesh) ive ever seen.

@kisamesfacioplegia is LITERALLY DRAWING RENAISSANCE PAINTINGS OKAY. Their art is always refined and carries the same aura as those huge paintings you find in museums, with extremely good storytelling and illustrations. Best historical prussia and germany on this site imo.

@carnagekiid (i dont know if they do aph anymore but their recent work is JUST AS GOOD) has the cutest modern interpretation of gil and is my fav. i personally am not a fan of like,,, the “ideal” canon prussia, and the way they draw emotion/use of colours (for all their work) with prussia has that like,,, UMMF of character, yknow what i mean??? they focus on ruspru i think but idk lol

@payadraws is quite possibly my FAVOURITE HETALIA ARTIST???? IF NOT AT LEAST IN THE TOP 3 BC THEIR STUFF IS SO GOOD AND STYLIZED PERFECTLY. their linework is stunning, and colouring has that tone over all of it that harmonizes the whole piece. The way their utilize their style in everything is PERFECt, idk how to use words for it, just take a look. Their austria/switzerland is deadass on-the-money.

@tomato-bird Literally how does one even manage to do this. theyre professional and it fucking SHOWS. Each composition, each stroke of their pen, it shows dude. Their art has like,,, the emotions, the feeling, is really well executed and they have so much attention to detail it blows my fucking mind. like ,,, this gives of hard renaissance level mastery vibes

@paperdrawsshit is SO GOOD at using that like,,,, the form/silhouette of characters. like,, the shapes they use, the flow of each pose, the hands, ALL OF IT SCREAMS PERFECTION. Each drawing has such flow and structure at the same time, and each character has such a pretty fashion sense. Excellent use of lighting and i strive to be as good as them in drawing people

@jackce THIS ARTIST HAS LIKE.,, SUCH A CLEAN CUT ART STYLE ITS GORGEOUS. Each drawing has the smoothest lines and the characters have distinct features. Their prussia, italy and germany styles stand out so much because of the way they draw the noses, jaw, features etc. Like they look like screenshots out of a professional 2d animated feature. Seriously.

@starstray (not sure if they draw hetalia anymore but i need to tell yall about them anyway) has such gorgeous like,,, composition. like if you dug through a collection of paintings from the renaissance you’ll find a few of theirs scattered in their. The use of like,,, linework paired with the way they colour is so perfectly executed. its so balanced im shaking

@amazing-prussia has the cutest, quirkiest style with what they draw. the hair/clothes are so stylized and fluid and i love them so much!! Each drawing looks so quick and perfected, every time I see one of their pruaus doodles i fucking DIE.

@glass-soda has such gorgeous illustrative style. It’s so unique and the way they colour and draw people have this wonderful POP to it. The colours are so balanced and bright, its so SO!!!!!! LOVELY. LIKE,, IDK HOW TO KEEP FROM RAMBLING ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM JUST LOOK.

@ask-risorgimento-italy (ack, dont know their main sorry) Their illustrations are so well done, you can see the thought and practice in each character!! and i love the “realistic” feel to it. I say that about characters who dont have like,,, idk “anime hair”?? but not only the hair, the clothes, the form, the ENVIRONMENT. THIS ARTIST KICKS ASS WITH THEIR ENVIRONMENT BUILDING. LOTS OF DEPTH. ABSOLUTE LEGEND.

@hetapolis !!!!! THEIR ART IS SO CLEAN AND SKETCHY AND BEAUTIFUL. OKAY. Shading/colouring is GORGEOUS. and the way they draw each character to be distinct and have unique features ITS SUPER PROFESH AND LOOKS AMAZIGN!! I admire their style so much yall got no idea

@thedisappointedidealist12 has REALLY GOOD LINEWORK/STORYTELLING. LIKE WOW. Every time i see something theyve drawn im shaking bc the pacing and execution is AMAZING. Everything about the way their art looks is super balanced and you can see the exact emotion each character is expressing.

@captainjellyroll OKAY. THIS PERSON. LEMME TELL U BOUT THIS. FIRST OF ALL. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV ANIMATORS. THEYVE BEEN MY IDOL SINCE I WAS 11. Their work has so much energy, colour, and you can see the thought in each composition. I love them so much,,, each drawing has its own burst of energy!!! i want to be able to be like them when im older and live with like 5 cats.

@tea-artblog (they dont draw hetalia much anymore but their recent art is 100% worth looking at) OKAY. YALL. This is one of the people who’s art i looked at constantly when i first joined!! Their art is so like,,,, balanced and has just enough contrast and the colours???? EVERYTHING WORKS SO WELL. The eyes/expressions are SUPER CUTE.

@sully-s ANOTHER ARTIST WHOS STYLE IS ONE OF MY FAVS. It’s super fluid and the colours are perfect!! Each character has their own uniqueness I cant express my love of how perfect their lighting/colouring is. Their illustrations are straight out of a movie art book, its so GORGEOUS. and the environment REALLY has depth!!

@ask-victorian-austrian (dont know their main ack sorry!!), THE LINEWORK IS SO DETAILED AND CLEAN. I love the way they draw clothes/fashion, its all so detailed and gorgeous and you can feel the weight of the cloth and the lace and everything okay???? Seriously I love all their blogs, they have a bunch, and you should check out all of them!

@amoxesyoew HAS SUCH CUTE DRAWINGS!! The style in their characters’ hair is so flowy and the way they draw faces and eyes have this adorable quality to it!! the pureness of the emotions they draw are really prominent and i constantly just DIE because of it! I love love LOVE the gercan they draw too

Each time they draw comic strips, the frames are so varied and it comes together SUPER WELL. Idk how to explain this, but like,,, the “camera angles” and the way they draw expressions/character interactions go together like peanut butter and jelly!

@kyotemeru-arts (they dont draw hetalia much but i love their art so much) dude the flow?? of the poses their characters have?? the flow of the characters themselves?? SUPER WELL DONE LIKE WOW. Seriously i think out of this list i like the way they draw expressions the best. Also this might be a weird thing to focus on, but the way theyre able to draw the interior/background/angles of things are INCREDIBLE.

Their non-hetalia work is actually my fav and i want to do just what they do when im older! Seriously, I want to be able to draw as well as them, its incredible how the amount of work and effort is shown in each drawing.

@buruzaitama !! The way they draw characters has like,,, this level of realism and the way they do their lighting just pushes that to the next level. I don’t know how people can pull off drawing realism yet still make it so unique that i can instantly tell that a piece is drawn by them, but this artist IS SO GOOD AT THAT. LIKE WOW

@inkodoodles Okay their “1 hour drawing challenges”? IM FLOORED ANYONE CAN DRAW THAT IN ONE HOUR. The have such detail and flow and movement in each drawing! And the lighting they have is so soft and calming, it lends itself to each piece REALLY WELL. Whatever emotion each drawing is supposed to give is conveyed to a tee

Like,,, the way they can use shapes for each of their characters is so refined and stylized i love it. Their use of colour seriously KICKS ASS and im floored every time i see their work.

@merasgar their art is so detailed!! and the backgrounds/environments are so soft and gorgeous to look at! I have like,,,, no idea how you can pull off such beautiful hair and eyes in each drawing!! They draw a lot of rochu and like,, the features look so PERFECT for the characters ghhghghg

@yosb ALRIGHT LISTEN UP THIS ARTIST SERIOUSLY HAS ONE OF MY FAV STYLES. It’s so refined and you can see the distinct features of each character. The style isnt realism but the characters FEEL REAL. They have such a perfect way of paying attention to details and putting in proportions/facial features to each character im so amazed and love their work so much

and of course i want to include @paachubelle though theyre working on their own project ( @the-otwya-project ) now, they’re one of my like,,,, friends that i made on this blog through hetalia ask blogs and i figured id like to include them on this list. Idk how people can draw in pencil with such detail and everything but they do it EXPERTLY. The line work is always so clean and the shading is always so well done!!

of course, im very clumsy and forgetful so i know i forgot some names but i cant remember things!! Either way, these are some of my all time favourite iconic hetalia (and non-hetalia) artists!! I want to be able to draw as well as them one day!
