one of my favorite things about zedaph is that on a server full of people that find strange and oft-overlooked minecraft mechanics or rare events and then see just how far they can push them in the name of spectacle or efficiency or world-breaking, zed is over here finding these mechanics in order to do the weirdest things he can think of in as entertaining a manner as possible
like i 100% have faith in zedaph's theoretical ability to be just as efficient or spectacular or world-breaking. if he wanted to do that stuff, i trust that he absolutely could. but thats so far from being his priority. instead, hes going to spend around a week of irl time focused entirely on eventually having the good luck to spawn in something insanely rare so that he can convert it into something even rarer, the result of which being something that 99% of the server reacts with complete and utter shock that it even exists in the first place, just because its zany and funny and he wanted to. and i love that
pathologic but it's a lost 1920s german expressionist film [id under cut]

image 1: a digital drawing of a fake poster, using bright colours and rough, painterly brushstrokes. the title, 'pest' (german for 'plague'), is written at the top in spiky black text. in the foreground a man dressed as a tragedian is staring intently at the viewer, his hands raised and splayed as if in horror. in the background, the town is framed against a red sky, with the polyhedron in yellow behind.
images 2 and 3: fake casting sheets for the film, with the names of the actors and the characters they are playing above a black-and-white portrait photograph of them. all the text is in german. in english it reads:

image 4: four digital sketches of set designs for various locations. all are strongly influenced by expressionist imagery, using extreme angles, warped perspective, and dramatic shapes. they are labelled 'street 1' (a street lined with houses), 'street 2' (a square with a lamppost and a set of steps), 'polyhedron exterior' (the polyhedron walkway), and 'cathedral interior' (the dais at the far end of the cathedral).
image 5: four digital drawings in a black-and-white watercolour style, showing fake stills from the film. all are similarly distorted and lit by dramatic lighting. the first shows katerina's bedroom, with katerina standing in the centre of the floor. the second shows the interior of an infected house. the third shows daniil staring out of the frame in horror, one hand on his head and the other raised as if to ward something off. the fourth shows an intertitle with jagged white text reading 'the first day' against a dark background.

challenging myself by engaging in the ancient art known as "dynamic poses", but making it harder on myself by ignoring the noble practice of "using references"
Pokemon Legends Arceus fan comic, where Jirou has disappeared and Volo has complicated feelings about it. (And maybe figures out that there's a bit of a God in that little phone of Jirou's)
Please don’t ask me how long this took, it’s embarrassing. (11 Hours.)
Oh and a bonus Rui pony included, completely free of charge (i’m so kind), idk he kinda walked in here and i couldn’t throw him out.
Would have included the full speedpaint but that wound up being 10 minutes long because, yknow, 11 hour drawing… so here’s the short version (pls let me post tumblr plsssss let me post).
What if Dean wrote a book about angels? He's best friends with one, it shouldn't be hard. Except that it is. While he's covertly gathering the research for his book about angel lore he's learning more about Cas than he ever imagined - finding out just who Castiel really is and what he can do. And oh, he's all kinds of amazing. (Also it turns out that angels are even more goddamn weird than Dean first thought.)
Tags will include (but there will be more): Angel Wings (possibly Wing Kink, depending on rating), Misuse Of Prayer (preview of 'Prayer' chapter), Mutual Pining, Angel Powers, Falling In Love, Flustered Cas Explodes Lightbulbs, First Kiss, Is It Blasphemous To Bite An Angel's Halo?
------Coming soon to AO3!

The author would like to thank…
Sam Winchester, for being an annoying little brother and the whole reason this book exists out of spite. (Who’s the angel expert now?)
[REDACTED] God, for making new angels who won’t be as fucked up as the old models.
And to Castiel, for being the source of nearly everything in this book. For giving me faith. For being there for me when you could, but always coming back when you couldn’t. For your loyalty. For your friendship. For loving m
Dean sat back and ran a hand over his face, watching the cursor blink accusingly on his screen. He thought back to the moment that he thought he’d lost Cas forever – when he’d said… what he said, and his heart squeezed with grief. Since Jack had fixed the world and brought Cas back, Dean hadn’t really let himself even turn the phrase over in his mind, keeping busy and firmly staying far away from the memory. It had hurt too much at the time to process what Cas had told him, and now he just couldn’t bring himself to think about it.
He took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling. Maybe this book would be a bad idea.
But Sam had been right – what did Dean know about Angels, really? What did he know about his own friend?
Dean settled himself back into position, chair squeaking under him as he shifted, and he slammed his finger on the backspace.
an eight page comic from Our Pupils Grope for the Shape of What We Know on ao3, by @ectopal
part two coming shortly (as in, minutes, so stay tuned!) rambles under the cut.
guys, this fic is so good. like so, so good. everything ectopal writes has been incredible so far, actually, and i had the hardest goddamn time figuring out which fic i wanted to draw for—in the end i’m really glad we chose this one, and i thank them for their input >:0
just… god. the brainrot is so strong. and if you can believe it, this whole comic barely even takes up a small portion of the last chapter—so if you like danny phantom, you’re looking for some epic gen fics, AND you’ve got some time, i say give their works a look. i promise that it’s worth it.
in the next part i’m gonna ramble more about how the process of making this comic went, but for now i’ll let you go. onward, enjoy! o7
