one of the things i do like about the ways in which my body's changed over the past year is that i learned crop tops actually look better with a little bit of belly. like im still not sure how i feel about the thighs or the hips (the whole love handle situation does not gel with how i'm accustomed to trying to look masculine and it was a large part of the reason i got the swim trunks finally - i could wear them up high enough that it wasn't as noticeable) - but i love that this shirt i've had for ages that used to just sit at a sort of awkward length now rides up over my belly fat and looks good that way . the other thing ive learned is that it's super easy to be body positive until it's your OWN body you gotta be positive about . hoo boy then its not so easy

#and i know that for me it's mainly a gender thing #my body doesnt carry its fat in a recognizably masculine way so it's harder to be comfortable with gaining it. i think #i lost a bit of weight when i was sick last year and then i gained it all back and then some. and the way i gained it just makes me look... #well my grandma would've called it 'child-bearing' (she didnt mean it in a cruel way the woman had ten kids) #to her that was the ultimate compliment #but because i dont want to look child-bearing it's tough. like if i carried the fat different? if i just got chunkier all over #instead of widening out at the hips . getting butt but no arms. #it's the PROPORTIONS . anyway . i do look great in this crop top that ive had for like ten years but never wear so that's cool
