If I can be perfectly honest for a moment? I’m gonna vent real quick under the readmore

Lately I haven’t been as satisfied with the way THIHA has been going. The latest chapter is taking way too long to unfold, and that’s partially on me for including so much exploration content this time around, but ever since maybe about mid-December, asks have been really slowing down. This isn’t to try and stir up sympathy, or guilt people into doing anything, and I’d never force people to consume things when they don’t want to. It’s just kinda depressing, because now I might sit down and say “I wanna run a session today” and end up waiting all day for a few asks to come in, and we’ve hardly moved on with the story.

If it seems like it’s dragging on lately, it kinda is. I’m not sure what else I can do about it, and it’s really demoralizing. This House is Self-Aware was a story I really wanted to tell, and I never thought it’d have gotten any kind of popularity like the way it did. And when I said on such short notice that I wanted to also do the Bad End spinoff, I’m glad that there were people who still were willing to hear this next story I wanted to tell. At times it was honestly a little overwhelming, getting so many asks in the inbox. Lately, though, things have dried up, and I know that this last month or so it’s been kinda tough for everyone and hyperfixations are fading and all. So I’m not saying they have to drop everything to focus on me and my thing, there’s way more important priorities in life than ask blogs.

With that being said, I don’t feel like I can just take a hiatus or a break from THIHA, and wait for warmer weather to start posting again. I feel a tremendous connection to this series and the story I wanna tell, and if I stop posting to the blog myself, I think I’m going to lose the engagement and the motivation to work on it altogether. (The old ADHD mood of “if I stop swimming I die” and all that, you know?) Lemme make it clear again that this isn’t a plea for people to “please interact with my series” cuz again, there’s more things folks are allowed to enjoy than a silly not-even-hl-vrai-anymore au. I think we’ll keep going and eventually reach something more exciting, but please don’t expect a consistent schedule, or sessions every day.

i've realised that the most memorable moments for me in movies and musicals are scenes that are just. so. scary. like maybe it's because i like horror but these scenes are always so subtle...they're always so short and so tiny but they still make me feel like i'm on a faulty rollercoaster

like in snow white (1937) my favourite scene is undoubtedly the one where snow white runs for her life in the woods and everything she sees turns into a monster and then she ends up just collapsing and crying?? D!SNEY YOU DID NOT HAVE TO GO THIS HARD???

and if you ask me why i like maleficent (sleeping beauty 1959) then it all boils down to that one scene where she tells philip that after 100 years he'll save aurora and go about his merry way as a hero but gives him a vision of himself and his horse on the verge of death trotting out her gates defeatedly?? MA'AM?? YOU'RE TERRIFYING???

and then in the prince of egypt my favourite scene is unfortunately the one where the pharoah tries to calm moses down at the wall where he painted all the babies by hugging him and then moses pulls away with sheer terror on his face?? DREAMWORKS??? NO ONE TOLD YOU TO MAKE IT SUCH A GOOD SCENE???

i just finished watching maleficent. it was great

#I LIKED IT ACTUALLY #casting was great #i loved maleficent's and aurora's contrasting features #the special effects and camera work were amazing #some lines could have been delivered better but eh #glad they renamed the good fairies because those were NOT the flora fauna and merryweather i know and love #diaval was so funny i rlly liked him #i thought philip was funny too but mostly because he didn't do shit the entire movie #he literally showed up for the sake of not doing anything. that is peak hilarity #overall i give it a 8/10 #thiha thinks thoughts
