S5 is shaping up to be so good, I think, because of the way everything is compounding onto each other in the basis of theme
Rayla becoming more like Runaan - obsessive, rigid, driven, independent - more like an assassin in both the best and worst ways during the same season she’ll likely have to confront possibly killing a possessed Callum. Her and Callum continuing to foil each other for better or for worse - asking the question of what are you willing to do to free the people you love?
And then you have Callum and Viren’s foil parallels coming to a head in regards to Viren’s dream visions that will shed light on his history with Soren, which will also nicely drive forward their shared question of what are you willing to sacrifice / do to save the people you love?
And Viren’s dream visions also nicely complements S5 letting Soren deal with some of his own emotions regarding his father being alive as well as providing a traumatic reminder for Claudia of what it was like when he was gone, perfectly opening up a place for more elaboration for both her (and Rayla’s) time during the timeskip - once again asking what are you willing to put yourself through for the sake of those you love? What pieces of yourself are you willing to destroy?
And Claudia and Soren being driven even further apart also naturally complements Karim and Janai’s escalated political and personal estrangement and disagreement, possibly losing her kingdom (a rising sun) to her brother (a fallen star) just as the Fallen Star himself is released - showing what pieces of yourself you must hold onto for the sake of duty and righteousness, rather than forsaking them for family
Which then just comes right back around in Claudia and Rayla trying to do anything to save their parents/fathers and Terry and Callum being poised, respectively, to see what they are or are not willing to do in that endeavour, and how freedom and salvation isn’t always a good thing, and when it is, and
Rayla being unwilling to entirely take up Runaan’s mantle (re: refusing to kill Callum), while Callum has to confront Harrow’s (in passing down the cube) and Claudia fully takes on Viren’s as Aaravos’ right hand and

silver stars (Gwen Stacy x Fem!Reader)
requested by anon: Gwen Stacy x fem!reader where the reader is just obsessed with Gwen’s eyebrow piercing??
info: established relationship, fluff, physical affection
a/n: we all just need a little more Gwen fluff in our lives, don't you think
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
"I think if you stare just a little longer, I might actually notice."
"Huh? Oh!"
Gwen's sarcasm cut through your zoned out stare. She tapped her fingertips along with the beat of the song you shared in your ears.
A smirk settled on her lips when she realized you were staring. Heat flushed into your cheeks at being caught.
"What am I supposed to do? Not stare at you?" you retorted eventually, letting your arm fall over her shoulders as you sat on her bed. She shrugged you off playfully and turned to face you.
"That's what's considered socially acceptable, yeah," she teased. You rolled your eyes.
"I'm not exactly sure that we're in a social situation right now," you huffed. You directed your attention elsewhere, opting to bask in the comfort of your girlfriend's room. Band posters littered the walls, and the hardwood floor was swept clean of dust and debris. Even though you couldn't see it, you knew her suit was hidden somewhere safe.
"Hey, I mean, if you like it so much...you can pick another piece out for me to wear," she offered. She brushed the longer side of her hair behind her ear instinctively. She'd never allowed someone to pick something out for her. Gwen always went her own way; at least, until you.
"Wait, for real? Show me."
She leaped up gracefully from her bed and glided towards her dresser. She pulled out the top drawer and gently lifted a box full of accessories. You watched with curious eyes as she popped the locks open and revealed a two layer stack of jewelry.
"Wow," you remarked, thoroughly impressed. You wondered how much money she'd spent on all of it.
You scanned the collection, full of silvers and chocolate golds. Gwen's finger pointed to a particular chunk of the layout. It was seemingly dedicated to eyebrow piercing attachments.
"Take your pick," she chirped before sitting down at her desk, flipping the switch to a light-up mirror. You watched as she ran her hand along her shaved half, then tousled the rest of her locks. You let out a small hum of adoration when she slicked it all back with her digits.
You paid attention to the decision at hand. You loved how silver looked on Gwen's cool-toned skin; it matched perfectly with her sky blue eyes. You flipped through the rows of attachments until a pair caught your eye. They were polished silver stars that glinted in the sunlight pouring through Gwen's window. You carefully extracted them and latched the box's locks closed.
You walked over to Gwen and she beckoned for you to sit in her lap. Your heart raced as you lowered yourself onto her strong thighs, holding out the attachments in your hand.
"I, uh, thought these fit you pretty well," you explained as she brought your hand closer to inspect the stars. She looked up with her adorable gapped smile and nodded.
"I forgot I had these, honestly. They're damn cute, though."
She laid back in the chair and held your hips with her hands. Your pulse pounded as you carefully removed the metal balls intricately twisted onto her piercing. You slid the stars onto the curved barbell, pressing them firmly in place. They perfectly complimented her fun and confident personality.
"Et voila," you beamed dramatically as Gwen swiveled in her seat to check herself out in the mirror. She leaned over your body and titled her head to side, favoring her right eyebrow.
"Huh," she remarked. "This is great! I can't believe I haven't worn these before."
"You look fantastic," you agreed, staring at yourself sitting on her lap in the mirror. She squeezed you in her warm arms gently as she met your eyes in the mirror. She turned to see you right in front of her and craned her neck to press a kiss to your forehead.
"Thanks, (Y/N)."

How do you think Grima would dress in a modern AU? I admit that I tend to imagine him dressing super-warm (man's always cold no matter the temperature), wearing lots of layers that hide his frame, lots of dark color palettes (blacks, greys, that sorta thing) with the occasional splash of color (like golds, maybe greens or purples every once in a blue moon), but I'm interested to hear how you think the snake man would dress in a modern setting! And how would it stack up next to Eomer's wardrobe?
Eomer: I have 500 colours, though many are variations of reds, greens, blues, and golds.
Grima: i wear black.
Eomer: I know. You're my tiny snaky summer goth.
--
We're talking Grima at the height of his power? Whatever form that might take in this world. I think he dresses well. One of my annoyances with the films is how he is dressed (the costume team is phenomenal and did a fantastic job, but I didn't like PJ's vision).
He comes from nothing, is self-made to a certain degree, and aside from his skills/education/etc., he relies on people's good opinion of him and trust in him to succeed in life. Therefore, he's going to dress to impress, so to speak.
Visual representation of status and power are important, especially in the societies Rohan is modelled on and I don't see why Rohan would be any different. Therefore, Grima as chief advisor to the king, and whatever other sundry roles in the household/court he may have held, would dress accordingly. He represents the crown! he needs to look the part.
His face might be unfortunate, but his clothing would be immaculate. He also would dress with psychology in mind: how can I use my appearance to dominate the room/impose my will/manipulate people/get what I want etc.
Anyway, in modern day the same logic still applies. So he'd be wearing designer stuff if he can manage it. Regardless, everything would be well tailored and good quality. Certainly on the warm side, as I also subscribe to the fandom headcanon that he's cold all the time.
I also absolutely agree that his palate would remain dark - lots of blacks and greys and blues-so-dark-could-be-black. I can see him adding a bit of dark purples or maroons to the mix. Maybe dark, forest green. Rich and dark.
In his off hours, that's where I see the layering coming in. That man would own an absurd amount of sweaters that he lounges in. Eomer is like, 'There is no way you need fifteen sweaters.' and Grima is like, 'excuse me, I own eighteen, I'm currently wearing three of them. And yes, I do need them.' Eomer replies, 'It's August! It's 32 degrees out there!' Grima bundles up more and nests on the couch.
Eomer: ahhh my weird snake boy(?)friend(?) who is unable to regulate his internal temperature.
Grima: some of us aren't walking furnaces. Eomer.
--
Grima has been known to steal Eomer's clothes which are too large for him but it allows greater layering opportunities when home and watching bad tv shows.
Eomer: I was planning on going out with Theodred for drinks and I was going to wear that cardigan you have on.
Grima: Too bad. Find a new cardigan, horse boy. I'm wearing it while I'm being anti-social and watching VEEP. I have four other layers on under it. I'm so pleased with myself.
Eomer: you are a very, very strange person.
Grima drinks his post-work beer and slides deeper onto the couch.
--
For comparison to Eomer, it's mostly colour contrast. Eomer wears more colours on the whole, and while they're also on the rich side they're not nearly so dark. I suspect their sense of style is very different but I'd have to sit on it and think about it before I could land on exact distinctions between them. I can also see Eomer, on the whole, going more casual than Grima. He'd wear jeans to work, nice chic fashionable formal jeans, but jeans regardless. Compared to Grima who is always in proper dress slacks etc.
--
thank you for the ask! :D :D

for your reali au what do the whistles mean and whats with the layers to the abyss where does it take place (i am very interested)
it takes place in the anime made in abyss! n now we get to info dump about our favorite anime of all time hehehe giggles and kicks ourlegs (BY THE WAY you should watch the anime. its so so so good many people dub it a masterpiece. its like actually insane how good it is everything about it is like perfect)
OKA Y SO WHISTLES
Bell = wants to be a delver (delvers r basically people that wanna go down into the abyss n explore n find artifacts) but has not done any delving yet. baby delvers basically
Red Whistle = apprentice delvers. they're not supposed to go below the first layer of the abyss and such. they're basically learning the ropes since delving is super dangerous. they collect little loser artifacts. most become red whistles at like 10
Blue Whistle = somewhat better delvers... they're like proper experienced and such so they can go down to the second layer. and the second layer is like dangerous as balls so it's like still impressive despite it being still relatively low. still considered apprentices we believe. most become blue whistles around 15
Moon Whistle = basically teacher delvers. they're really experienced enough so that they can teach red whistles and blue whistles. they can go down to the 3rd and 4th layers so they're even more crazy better than blue whistles.
Black Whistle = these are like the professional delvers. most can never go beyond this point it's like hell yeah. and really hard to get to this point. they're super experienced and talented and have mastered delving so they earn a lot of respect. they also sometimes act as subordinates and assistants to white whistles and such! and they can go down to the fifth layer. which like the whole layer thing is a sort of formality rule technically you can go down as much as you want it's just considered a suicide mission since if you're not at the appropriate whistle level then you're not experienced enough, but beyond the fifth layer its kinda like, yeah you actually can't really go there unless you're higher than a black whistle.
White Whistle = the legends. only a handful of people have ever become white whistles. they're the true master delvers and have laid claim to immensely powerful artifacts. they can delve as deep as they please but most stay at the fifth layer of above unless they decide to make their final descent (will make sense later). you can only get a white whistle through a specific way which is more spoiler territory and we really hate giving spoilers. a white whistle allows you to unlock the weird ballish thang that brings you down to the sixth layer as well and a white whistle can help strengthen the effects of certain artifacts. and white whistles have certain titles, like (Name) the (Blank) or (Name), Lord of (Blank) or (Name), the (Blank) Sovereign. and more it's like wild. and usually more than one.
LAYERS NOW!!!! WOOHOOO!!!! this is the part that makes made in abyss MADE IN ABYSS!!!
the abyss is made up of multiple layers each with varying degrees of danger as you've probably gauged by now.
what you need to understand is that when you go UP, like ASCEND instead of DESCEND, you get hit with the curse of the abyss. each layer has a different curse, but you also get every curse from above layers. so it stacks. dont go up unless you know what you're doing. going up includes hills and stairs and anything, you don't have to go to a new layer to be counted as going up, any rise at all is going up. good luck.
1st - considered the edge of the abyss. kinda looks normal, less alien, and not many threats, unless lower layer baddies decide to visit. lots of praying corpses. the curse of the 1st layer just kinda involves like... gettin headaches and nausea and stuff. so like you can go up and not really worry but it's not pleasant.
Tumblr media
2nd - where it starts getting scary. the forest is upside down, and lots of scary creachures! there are some delvers who set up shop down here, like ozen in the original, and we're fairly sure it's implied there's also like a city/town area in the second layer from one of the extras? or maybe they ascended wdk. but basically if you go up in the 2nd layer it's like EVEN WORSE SICKNESS! you get sooo much headaches and nausea you throwin up boy... even some numbness. not awesome.
Tumblr media
3rd - this is like. big hole with cave systems all round. many flying baddies but the insides are relatively safer. also pretty glowy! nobody lives here to our knowledge cuz its not really a liveable spaces. if your ass tries to ascend you can get like crazy vertigo and hallucinations and you will fall over like a dumb idiot. the hallucinations part really sucks.
Tumblr media
4th - hehe. hehe. hehe. horrible beasts here. horrible effects here. do not go up. the episode featuring this layer traumatized viewers bad especially the ones who were not expecting it. basically rite of passage for made in abyss! if you go up you'll still be getting the previous effects such as being so nauseous and dizzy and hallucinating but you'll ALSO be bleeding out of EVERY SINGLE ORIFICE... AND YOU'LL BE IN SO MUCH PAIN... this is kind of really the point where it's hard to ascend on your own without dying. don't go up.
Tumblr media
5th - get fucked in your entire asshole. this layer is also known as the sea of corpses and there's fishies here ahehehe also the ido front which is torture central. the sea of corpses connects with the 6th layer cleanly so in a way you can descend to the sixth layer from the fifth without a white whistle but it's not like, proper. you're not getting the sixth layer experience just the curse. but back to fifth layer. when you ascend here you get confused, you lose your sense of reality, you stop feeling any and all senses... in the anime it's depicted as sort of like, you disconnect from reality, you're nowhere and you lose your entire perception of self... resulting in self harm. you can't feel yourself falling down the stairs about to crack your skull, you can't feel yourself grind your teeth until all is left is gums and blood, you can't feel yourself dig your nails into your skin and rip your flesh off. this one character that attempted to ascend was hit with such horrible effects that she become nearly unrecognizable in appearance. the entire movie was spent here and it was sooooo good explodes
Tumblr media
6th - this is the point of no return. you cannot ascend the sixth layer without either dying or becoming a mockery of your former self. unless you get the blessing of the abyss, which is more spoiler stuff. you can only access this properly with a white whistle since white whistles are made with a special stone, and without the stone, you can't interact with the silly natural elevator that brings you down. the sixth layer is beautiful, filled with golden scenery and whole new types of nature and untouched ruins. there is also so much lore here the entire second season is spent here. the reason why you can't escape the sixth layer properly is because once you ascend you lose your humanity. you deform into a strange creature called a hollow. if you're lucky you get to be furrybait. if you're 99% of people you become this horrific blobbish monster incapable of sentient thought. hollows are also functionally immortal so good luck getting out of your misery.
Tumblr media
the seventh layer results in certain death when ascending. not much info on it in the anime though, third season will involve it lol. third season better come soon we're crazy. there's also theoretically more layers beyond it since, as much as the people know, the abyss is endless.

October 5: Excerpt form Ch 2
I'm not going to post chapter 2 for a little bit yet because I...just have a lot of writing projects going on right now, none of which I'm actually working on but I need a quick sort of cheat of an entry because it is VERY, worryingly late and I need to get to bed. I'm going to be leaving a couple hours early tomorrow, I've decided, but I do still need to get up and to work most of the day so.
Here's a little bit of Make a Lot of Money, chapter 2:
*
Maybe it's not déjà vu at all but just regular old memory: Halloween a reunion event for them, as always, and the impressions of every Halloween they've ever spent together as a group now stacked in thin layers in his brain, the details of one mixing with and fading into the next. He'd like to keep them all in neat folders like the organization of his hard drives but brains just don't work like that. They're all a mess of feelings distorting the hard angles and discrete numerical values of facts.
If Octavia operated by fact alone, she would probably reject Clarke's peace offering in its small, brown-wrapped box and orange bow. Because the fact was, as she'd once told him, with neither explanation nor apology, that the friendship was over, history be damned.
But then Bellamy says, "She's family," and family isn't friendship and it can't be erased, and Octavia accepts the gift and says simply, "Fine."
Monty lingers for a moment in the parlor as Lincoln ushers the new arrivals to the door and on up the stairs to their rooms. He's still trying to recall something, frustratingly out of reach in the hazy outer edges of his thoughts.
The door to the dining room opens again, and Jasper pokes his head out. "You coming?"

The Unfurling Stars
The Unfurling Stars, J. Rindler, 2021
There's a game called "Fall of Magic" that was Kickstarted back in 2015. It's an award-winner for multiple reasons, but its most distinctive feature is the five-and-a-half-foot-long double-sided hand-screen-printed cloth scroll map that you unroll as you play. It focuses on a single story (as you might guess, magic is disappearing) and is very mechanically light. The Unfurling Stars keeps the GMless play and the map conceit, but switches to sci-fi exploration and drops the inherent story aspect, to varying results.
Let's talk about the game's failings first. The move from a single story to a sandbox makes the early game a bit uneven. You might go in a lucky direction and stumble across one of the six core plots, or you might end up being commodity traders for entirely too long. And having six plots also means that each one has less meat on its bones.
The rules are a bit too bare-bones for my tastes. They're concise in a way that actually discourages modding, which would be impressive if it weren't so unhelpful. There are a dozen stats, intended to cover the whole set of human abilities. Specialties in the stats (e.g. Manual Dexterity: Piloting x3) take the place of skills. Attacks and mishaps damage stats, so there's a death spiral. Every group gets the same starting ship, and customization happens through missions you unlock during the core plots.
Now for the good stuff: the physical presentation. The game comes packed in an octagonal box about a foot wide and five inches tall. It's heavy. Open the box and you'll find an intricately folded map made of the same polymer you'll find used for banknotes in countries where the money actually looks cool. When completely unfolded the map is a intricate, star-filled black snowflake over three meters wide. The actual art on the map is mostly star photos from the Hubble and a circle-and-line node map. It's nothing stunning, but it gets the job done and doesn't get in the way.
The map unfolds in an origami-like fashion to reveal new star systems. It has transparent windows that are wormholes. If you can re-fold the map along the existing fold lines to put that window where you want to go, bang - shortcut. It uses thumbnail-sized holographs and metallic ink for key locales. It uses microprinting (which you can read with the included lens). It hides information in fluorescent ink (pen-sized UV light included). It nicely has little curved arrows to show you where you can re-fold it.
Each storyline is about 8-10 sessions long, and you're unlikely to unfold the whole map in one storyline. The intent is for you to start over from the beginning and explore an "alternate branch" in which you made different choices and found a different storyline. Your group could probably stack one storyline after another, though having the ship from the end of one story at the beginning of another might be kind of a game-breaker.
I'd probably take Unfurling Stars apart and use its pieces as a hex-crawl setting, but I do wish I could go through the replay process. Extra-long campaigns are kind of my thing.
For those who didn't get in on the original crowdfunding, there's apparently a PDF copy coming that will use visibility layers to achieve many of the same results.

My Hero Academia
Name: Sentoro Mika
Alias: In school their hero name was “The Knight”
Age: 27
Gender: None (they were assigned female at birth but they've been telling people they're neutral ever since they could speak)
Height: 5’9”
Personality:
Ever since Sentoro was little, they’ve always been slow to trust. They don’t even realize it but there is a very strict division between their authentic self and the person they show themself to be. On the outside they’re calm, mostly silent, quietly sarcastic and slow to rise; the reality is they’re passionate, sometimes even enough to lose control of their quirk, and more than happy to goof off and be vulgar if they’re around people they trust. They aren’t exactly socially anxious; it’s more that they self-police without realizing it. They’re charismatic enough to get by but they aren’t especially well-known or -liked (except by their students, who are historically easy to impress). When it comes to life-or-death situations they can freeze up, and they move through life with a caution bordering on paranoia. They’re a very different person from the student they used to be—they were hotheaded and rash, and life taught them a lesson.
Appearance (+ some sketches at the bottom of the post):
Most people find Sentoro hard to read. Their face tends to rest in in a relaxed, perfectly neutral expression, purely observing. It’s all micro-expressions with them. Their voice is the same—laid-back and clear. Even their posture is low-key. It’s strange. They’re constantly filled with a low thrum of anxiety but the average person would never guess it.
They tend to wear baggier clothes like sweatshirts and cargo pants, anything comfortable, but beneath those clothes they're surprisingly fit. UA is insanely physically demanding and even after they dropped out Toro kept up their physique. Their goal isn't to become a hero (so they don't push themselves nearly as hard as they used to); they just enjoy that feeling when all they're doing is movement and their mind becomes blissfully quiet. Running; lifting; fucking Pilates; it's all the same to them: a meditation.
Besides their flare of orange hair, they don't really stand out (unless they're undressed--they have a lot of flashy tattoos). The marks on their face are irremovable; they've been there since birth. Their mother has similar ones. Toro had their top surgery done in their sophomore year of college and left the nipples off to save cash; the scars on their torso are joined by an abundance of faded ones from their UA years.
Profession:
They’re a teaching assistant at UA, their would-be alma mater if they hadn't dropped out their senior year. Basically, they stay with the class they’re assigned through the whole year and strategize about each individual student with their home room teacher. They’ve been in that position for three years—first as Aizawa’s assistant, then Present Mic’s, and now Aizawa’s again.
Quirk: Magnetta
They can control metal. A power like that would be extremely OP if they ever actually went pro (like practically every person in their life and the school and the city wanted them to) but instead they spent six years on a master’s in Education (and a BA in Literature but no one ever gives a shit about that) so their power mostly gets used for carrying their fork to their mouth or lacing up their shoes.
They did still develop special moves back in UA. They never use them.
Hero Suit:
Toro’s UA-era hero costume was a masterpiece of craftsmanship—a work of steel origami which (with lots and lots of practice) they could unfold with their quirk out of five metal bands. In its activated form it’s basically a suit of armor, but the layers of metal stack and compact into a few metal bands to wear when they aren’t in danger. At minimum, the suit looks like two bracelets, two anklets and a choker. When deployed (and approachable), one might notice the hairline seams all over it which show where each piece breaks apart.
When any part of the suit is fully spread, they can access the hollow spikes built into each metal sheet. These spikes can raise and flatten, as well as eject. (The issue with ejection is it leaves a hole in the armor which cleverer villains can target. If they let all the spikes loose they end up looking like a slice of vulnerable swiss cheese.) The whole metal suit fits together like a puzzle; it took them a long, long time to learn how to deploy it, and many less complicated predecessors were mastered before their most recent suit. They wear the bands every day but they haven’t unfolded the armor in almost a decade.
Special Moves:
Suit Up: They use their quirk to expand their armor and cover their body. Their hero suit is designed to shrink to a few bands of metal, so they wear those on them 24/7 and activate them as needed.
Crush: Pretty self explanatory. They take whatever they can access—sheet metal, streetlights, benches, whatever—and trap their opponent in it.
Spine: They activate and eject the spikes in their armor. This can only be done when that armor has been expanded out of its band form.
They have a couple others but they keep those under wraps. There isn’t any video record of those.
Ideals:
Their philosophy can be fully encompassed by the phrase “better safe than sorry.” They differ a lot from their colleagues because they care more about their students’ safety than giving them experience, which makes them a decent balance against a lot of the other teachers but it can cause them to butt heads with their superiors. They can be protective to a fault. Their biggest nightmare is not being able to protect students from what they went through in their school days.
Vices:
They smoke cigarettes. It started when they were an undergraduate and now that they’re forcibly associated with the hero world it feels pointless to quit. The stress of UA work is ridiculous and it quickly becomes evident that some villain or disaster will probably get them way sooner than lung cancer.
They have almost endless patience for kids but very, very little with adults. Of the two of them, Aizawa is the patient one. They have a tendency to get frustrated when their higher ups behave (as they see it) irrationally and, though their tolerance for dickery is quite high, once their limit is met they can become hotheaded and rude, and can get themself into trouble. They’re especially passionate when it comes to their students.
They lack self-awareness. It’s strange because they have a very strong idea of their quirk’s limits but no comprehension of their emotional ones. They’re too comfortable with discomfort; they've been heavily dissociating since senior year and they don't even realize.
They also have some unaddressed trauma. I don’t want to spoil the event that took place but the public would know the basic truth of it: two third-years were accosted by a villain in the city; one kid was killed; one kid escaped. (I think it would be nice to play a character who goes through a healing process but that would mean starting Toro off in a pretty dark place. Like, not trauma porn dark but they definitely have some stuff to work out. If you aren’t comfortable with that let me know and I’ll keep it light instead!)
Goals:
They’d like to be a proper teacher, for starters. When UA offered them a TA job it was implied that they’d be promoted in a year or so, yet here they are three years later with not even a whisper of upper mobility.
Before working at UA, Sentoro interned as a classroom helper with a whole bunch of grades. Their favorite age-group was elementary school. They love working with little kids, but UA pays much better and Toro has a lot of debt to work off. (They were also personally requested despite their rocky history with UA, which was intriguing on its own, not to mention that at the time of applying they were under the impression that they’d get a full teaching job after a year; they weren’t about to turn that down.)
Potential Partners: Aizawa

Virtual Sketchbook 3
The piece of art I looked at was Title Six by Thomas Downing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The art was made from acrylic on canvas. It was around 4 feet tall and 6 feet tall. There are around 5 colors. Really dark red on the bottom. Another layer on top that is dark green. A middle layer of dark orange. Then there is a brighter pink on top. Then a lighter green on the very top layer.
The subjects represented are tiles stacked at different angles to create the illusion that one side is closer to the viewer and that there is a gap between each tile. It is designed in a way that there are different levels, tilted in a way that makes it look 3D. They appear to be levitating from afar.
The painting is very balanced. The colors are nice and solid. They're very rich looking and there aren't too many of them. The colors present are quite similar so they work very well together to give this unified look. The 3d sloped look is emphasized with simplicity and unity also being big parts of it. The unique angle and stacked look is also emphasized. There is also a great deal of proportion present.
The way it makes me feel is that it makes me want to explore it to see if the tiles are levitating. It creates a great deal of curiosity. The proportions also give a great deal of satisfaction.
The painting is a contemporary painting. It tells me that Downing liked working with shapes and symmetry. It also tells me that he liked painting simple things with unity and sharp lines. The artist was trying to show how 2D painting can give this 3D impression on the viewer. The message comes across quite easily because of the clear use of angles, shading, and colors.
The importance of this painting is that it touches on the ideas of perspective and imagination. It makes the viewer wonder whether these tiles are stacked or not. It makes the viewer want to look from a different angle but they can't because the painting is 2D. It is an overall very simple piece of art but a high quality one with plenty of qualities to it

I shall now do several of them because I love sharing my bandori thoughts :]
Rei:
First impression: woah holy shit there's a whole other band in the japanese servers??? Also hee hee that one looks silly
Impression now: my absolute beloved light of my life I want slink you over my shoulders like a blanket and then throw you (affectionate) and also hee hee you look silly
Favorite moment: that moment in the second film live when she talks abt liking sasanqua. Number one part of that thing that ruined my life how dare they /pos
Idea for a story: I generally just wanna see them interact with more of the cast, but in particular I wanna see them and Touko interact, so I think it'd be funny to force them to colab on a song or smth. Im thinking like a music festival involving multiple schools that's particularly big this year thanks to Touko's school being involved too, but the rest of morfonica couldn't make it so they bullied Rei into helping or smth like that. Idk again I just wanna see them interact
Unpopular opinion: I don't actually ship Rei and Tae, I think they're cute but I like it when Layer has to 3rd wheel everyone too much sorry <3
Favorite relationship: probably her and Chu2? I'm not actually sure tbh I also like her and Lisa's friendship
Favorite headcanon: crinkly bones
Hina:
First impression: hm ur a little rude but I think ur just blunt we'll see how things go
Impression now: the character of all time. Honestly one of the best written bandori characters in my opinion she is so so dear to me
Favorite moment: like all of them but if I had to chose one then probably her realising she's loved during the wonderful sweet event? Shout out to every time she's talked abt Aya tho, ur so pathetic Hina <3333
Idea for a story: either something from her rock bottom period of her life or smth from current times abt her thinking a bit on how complicated of a history she has with her school, it having been the setting of both the worst period of her life and her recovery from it. Idk just with her graduating soon I think it'd be nice to write abt how she feels abt her school as she's almost ready to leave it
Unpopular opinion: I don't think she abd Sayo should or will live together in the future, I think it's rly important that despite still being very important to eachother and their relationship improving that they're still building towards having a sense of self and life outside of eachother, and that's ultimately so much healthier for them and allows them to have a healthier relationship as siblings too.
Favorite relationship: Hina and Chisato make me lose my mind but that's probably partially the Chisato bias djfnzjdg those characters sure can parallel.
Favorite headcanon: Hina is the only one of the 3rd years that's a good driver. Like scarily so. She just drives so normally it's freaky. There has to be a catch but there isn't she's just the only one who drives like a normal person
Touko:
First impression: oh we blond person
Impression now: *ponts* adhd haver. I care you so so much.
Favorite moment: again it's hard to pick one but uhhhh that one story where they take notes by just writing down words to describe the energy of Nanami's playing in their mind? Idk why that scene in particular always stood out so much to me but it does
Idea for a story: Touko and Tsukushi have deep talks™ abt romance and sexuality before they decide to stack on top pf each other to reach a book and Tsukushi has to go home from school early 😔 I actually do wanna write this one that's why I'm being super vague fmfbdj
Unpopular opinion: I genuinely don't get any Touko ships I've seen. Maybe it's just my aro bias but I don't get it I just don't </3
Favorite relationship: Touko Tsukushi bestie moments means the world to me y'all don't even know. Every now and then I remember them and just need to lie down for a bit I love them so so much
Favorite headcanon: nonbinary aro lesbian Touko <33333 it's genuinely such an important hc to me, one of my biggest comfort hcs tbh
Tsugumi:
First impression: wow that sure is some girl
Impression now: he's just some guy except he's also a freak at the same time. He's also a lesbian. I also love him.
Favorite moment: just the entirety of the comic panic story, I love that story sm
Idea for a story: gender
Unpopular opinion: idk how much this counts but I love transmasc Tsugumi who very much gets to look like a grill dad eventually very much. Also I think ppl should think abt them more outside of sayotsugu love and light
Favorite relationship: despite what I just said I am indeed a sucker for sayotsugu. But also shout out to Ran and Himari <3
Favorite headcanon: not counting gender uhhhh she's eaten a bathbomb before along with a shit ton of other very non editable things you could hand her anything and their first instinct would probably be to eat it

Hi I saw your Minecraft house and I am impressed! How do you find the creative inspiration to create something so good? Not to kiss ass but wow. The only thing I’ve ever created was a house with a basement that led to a underground cave and a bridge outside to cross over a ravine safely.
Minecraft Questions
!! ;; oh that's a good question,,, i think i've just always used minecraft to build things. i built in creative mode on servers for several years so, when i started playing on servers in survival, it just came naturally. i study interior design irl so that has helped me do really detailed interiors to my builds. hmmmm-
i always tell people the way that i got good at making things in minecraft is that i did a lot of tutorial builds a while back shshs. once you know like some of the basic techniques people use to make things look more textured or interesting, you can use them in any build to make it look better.
knowing how you want a build to flow helps like my home in those images starts out with a bridge over water leading to the crops and the bottom floor (it used to just be a natural formation i only replaced the blocks slowly over time). my plan was to make it so there were multiple floors bc i'm a moth origin on that server so i'm really small and wanted to play off on that by having a massive home (i call it moth manor).
Tumblr media
i thought that the natural formation looked sorta moth/butterfly like as i was replacing blocks on it bc of that little dip in the blocks there so i used the layers of stone to carve out the wings and then made the inside of the wings windows at another point. there's actually a lot of rooms in the home that i couldn't show in the post bc it's just so massive and i didn't want the post to be too long ahah.
the first floor are all guest bedrooms; these are the sections i made first so they're not as heavily decorated at the floors above so that was my starter base and then i cut up into the ceiling of that to make a ladder heading to an area i carved out above it. a lot of the way i build is about excavating so that i have less exterior design to focus on. one one hand, that means a lot less windows but on the other laannnternnns. my storage room is on the second floor and third floor. it's design was based off of an idea of like messy crowded storage and i realized when looking on the map that they looked like two landcrashed ships stacked ontop of eachother so i played off on that a lot when i went to finally decorate it.
Tumblr media
i often don't have a plan when i go into it; i just have a way i want to walls look and carve out a space until it looks the size i want and work around it for adding the items to make it look the way it does in the end. it's a lot of stacking objects and placing things to block the central path so that there is more to move around to give a more interesting visual aesthetic. the only space i didn't really do that in is my room but the old version of it definitely had that feel ahaha (it was much smaller before).
Tumblr media
i hope that helps! i mostly just,,, feel inspired because i really like being able to make a space feel "me", y'know? i like being able to see that the things i place randomly or do have an impact. it can be messy in the process and some things might not look right at first but, once it's complete, it just all comes together and that's what i really enjoy the most. thank you for asking!

17: Irritating Love
August 25,2018
I ducked, dodging an arrow by the skin of my teeth.
Rey and Hardy were crouched down behind me. The stack of crates were the only thing keeping us from becoming pin dolls.
Twisting my hands, I sent out my magic, reining it in to 15 feet. Rey shivered as the death spell passed through her, leaving her unscathed.
To our right, a strangled cry sounded out in alarm. It ended with a bodily thump.
"Come on," I grit out, pissed at the lack of weapons I had.
We make it two feet before gun shots fire from behind me. I whirl to see Rey with a pistol in hand. The man she shot fell to his knees.
I kept going, weaving our way out of the maze of shipping crates.
"Aspen!" Hardy yelled out a warning, but I was already on it. A huge lift barreled for us, the forked side first.
I grabbed at my magic, wrapping it around the heavy machinery. The muscles in my arms tensed as I flung it away from us. It hit a stack of shipping containers, knocking the top one off. My ears rung from the screeching of metal attacking metal.
We kept running, darting from path to path. They surrounded us again. Rey led us to a bunker corner of two crates. We crouched down.
How many men were there?
Rey squeezed Hardy's hand in hers, gripping her pistol in her right hand. He buried his face in her neck, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I'll die for you," he muttered.
She grabbed his face, making eye contact before sincere lip contact. "I'll die for you first."
"No one here is fucking dying!" I snap.
Both of them look at me, shocked by the sharpness of my voice. I inch towards the edge of the crate. A red burning line was drawn blocking our exit. It was bad news. I knew the spell. It'd burn us from the inside out if we ran through.
I briefly considered taking the time to break the spell but cast it out. It could take too long. The goons could be on us in seconds.
I look up. God if you're real...
Holy shit. The lightbulb shines over my head as my brain cells work to form a functional idea.
"Rey how many bullets do you have left?" I ask.
She checks. "5 counting the one in the barrel."
"Okay. That's not bad. Here's what we're going to do. I'm gonna cast a magical protection spell over us and Hardy you're gonna use your shields to help prevent us from being shot down."
Hardy nods but his eyebrow cocks at my use of words. "Shot down?"
A grin forms and I point up. "Yep. We're like mice in here. We don't know the territory like they do and I'm getting the faint impression that they're leading us to a trap. So we're going to run on the top of the crates. Where we can see the end and get the hell out of here."
They share a glance before standing up. "What if we can't make a jump?" Rey worries, watching Hardy climb to the top.
"I have us on that front," I say wiggling my fingers. "Don't worry. Just make sure you aim to kill and that your boyfriend can keep his shields up."
She nods, turning to climb after him. I can see the ripple through the air as Hardy manifests his shields.
I didn't wait for Rey to reach the top to climb. Instead, I climbed beside her.
My spell of protection was subtle, but I wrapped it around us in two layers.
Yells from below got us moving. Goons ran for us. Several had hellhounds on leashes. Huge, ugly dogs with hellfire in their eyes. Their jaws snapped as they saw their marks. With barks so loud it invoked fear in the dead, the air that came out of their lungs was even toxic.
I paused. My hands in claws as I twisted and snapped their necks one by one.
Hardy led us towards the edge of the maze. We were sprinting along the tops of the crates, hopping between the cracks.
"Aspen!" He warned again. I looked forward and saw that he was leading us towards another row. The jump was huge.
"I got us. Go!"
Hardy kept our pace even, not looking back as he took a leap of faith. Soon we were all rushing forward on our own momentum. With a small effort, I raised us up and carried us over the rest of the 4 feet.
Hardy paused, a grin broken on his lips. "That was cool!"
Rey clamped a hand on his shoulder, pushing him forward. "Congratulate later!"
She screamed. A big burly man had managed to climb up with us. A gun raised in his hands. There was no hesitation when he fired three shots.
Hardy gripped his palms. With his hands in tight fists, his shields stopped the bullets where they were.
People were starting to file down below us with guns, whips, and knifes in hand. One dude even had a bat and chain.
"Go go go!" I yelled.
Hardy barreled ahead, lowering his center of mass as he used his shields as a battering ram. The burly man didn't stand a chance. We tossed him over.
We crossed over to another row of crates, this time able to make the jump without my assistance.
I felt foreign magic try to take hold of us. It touched my barrier, but dispelled soon after touching it.
"Holy shit we're almost there." Hardy yelled.
He turned and hopped onto the last length of shipping crates.
"Shit," he swore, hesitating.
I saw why. There was a group of 5 standing down the line. Even more were on the ground below us. All of them blocked the exit.
Hardy winced, his eyes closing from concentration as bullets rained at us. Three of the five had guns and all of them were shooting at us.
Rey didn't hesitate. She fired three shots over Hardy's shoulder. All of them hit home in the dudes with guns. They fell to the ground, dying. One pressing the trigger and shooting at his comrades on the floor before stilling.
A twitch of my fingers had their guns flying across the lot. Only one came towards us.
Rey caught it. "Cool an uzi."
She laid it down on the ones at our feet. In my peripheral, I saw her hit a good many as they broke formation and scrambled away.
I ran towards the remaining two. One with a broad sword and the other had a chain with a heavy ball at the end.
The man with the chain went for me first. I jumped, dodging the blow to take out my legs. I got up and personal. Jabbing his eyes, before punching his throat. He choked, coughing as he swung blindly.
   I felt the air split as the sword came for me from behind. He hoped to cut through my spine with a swing that heavy.
     Dropping to the floor, I slide between the chain dude's legs, giving him a hard blow to his junk.
He yelped, high pitched and whiny.
I rolled back to my feet in a crouch. The sword had dug deep in the body of his partner. The man was a goner. Blood sprayed everywhere. His screams raised the hair on my arms.
The dude with the sword looked panicked. He grabbed the dude and shoved him off the crates. Anger flushed his face. "You."
I stood, shrugging my shoulders. "Me."
He ran for me sword first, a battle yell tore from his throat.
Dodging was always easy, but now that this man was letting his emotions carry his attacks it was especially easy.
I brandished a thin blade from my belt, making tiny cuts wherever I could when I moved away from the path of his sword.
He stopped, huffing as he realized his mistake. He was as bloody as his fallen friend. His skin clammy and pale.
I cut every major vein and artery on his arms, nicking his artery on his big throat too.
"Sorry." I apologized, before drop kicking him to the ground. He didn't get up.
I was alone up here.
Hardy and Rey were back to back, fighting the ones left that were stupid enough to still fight.
A whip wrapped around Rey causing her to tumble forwards. A pirate pulled her towards his with a dirty smile. I dropped down to help her, but Hardy got to her before me. His shields forgotten in desperation to help her.
He grabbed her, tugging back.
I grabbed a discarded gun and shot the pirate.
Rey unwrapped the whip.
We all made eye contact, all of us on the same page. We got up and ran like hell.
No one followed us as we hit the streets. The evening shadows cloaked us as we headed for the hidden car.
Hardy got there first, jumping into the drivers seat as Rey grabbed shotgun and I dove into the back.
Our doors weren't even shut before he had us spinning away from the docs.
Adrenaline and potholes made the ride rough, but thankfully we made it back to the highway.
It was silent as we all caught our breath.
"I think that asshole broke my wrist." Rey said, savoring her right hand.
"Shit." Hardy said, "Let me see."
"No dumbass you drive." I said, popping up from the back. I turned to Rey. "Let me see."
I turned on the light and saw the discoloration of her wrist. It was a swollen mess, but there was no bone sticking out and no visible protrusions.
"Jesus." I said. "It wouldn't surprise me if it was broken."
"Is it?" Hardy asked. "Can you even tell?"
"No really." I answered before asking Rey, "Can you move it?"
She tries but only gains tears. "No," she breaths out in shakes.
"Okay. Okay. Give me your hand," I said.
Hardy picked up speed as he drove us to base, taking a sharp exit that flung me and Rey to the side. "What are you doing?”
A whimper leaves her lips when she straightens up.
“I’m going to heal her injury,” I snap. “Christ what do you think I’m going to do?”
“Sorry,” he scoffed, focusing back on driving.
I pull energy from the world, focusing on the signals her body gives off along with the connections and disconnections in her wrist.
The magic soaks into her skin, restoring the cells that were broken. It only took a second.
“Holy shit,” Rey gasps. “It’s fixed.” She wiggles her wrist. “Thank you.”
I sigh, resting back. “Welcome.”

I have another prompt for you, my Ranger of Hope! Alas, it probably wouldn't make a good drabble (so you'll just have to make it longer...oh damn! 😉). I was Hmmm....I'm thinking Captain Canary, pre-relationship- Sara & Mick on a mission where their cover is they're fake dating or fake married and jealous Len is monitoring their situation closely (for the mission!) & is surly about it, which amuses Mick and prompts him to purosely aggravate Len so he'll confess his feelings to Sara
Okay so I FINALLY got my butt in gear and finished this one. It’s not exactly what you’ve outlined…but I think it keeps the spirit of the prompt. This is Chap 1 of 4, and can also be read on AO3
This is also my entry into the @leonardsnartbigbang event.
Make the plan
               “Idon’t like this,” Leonard drawls, following Sara as she makes a turn down ahall to their left.
               “Soyou’ve said,” Sara glances back at him and Mick, “but you have to admit, we arethe best ones for the job.”
               He humshis agreement, his partner shrugging beside him. “I don’t know, a mission whereI get to fight ain’t so bad.”
               Sarachuckles, “At least one of us will have a good time.” She motions down anotherhall, “Meet you at the jumpship in twenty?”
               Leonardnods, and the three split to their separate rooms to pack and prepare for themission. He packs lightly: jeans, several layers of shirts, and a pistol thatcan easily be concealed on his person. He also has Gideon print blueprints ofthe arena and nearby hotels as well as fake I.D.s for all three of them.
               Hearrives at the jumpship first, though Sara follows close behind, key in hand.“You have any idea how to fly this thing?”
               Hesmirks, “I may have had the kid show me the basics.”
               “Good,”she tosses him the key just as Mick joins them.
               “Youtwo ready to get off this tin can?” he asks, tossing his bag through the doorbefore they begin to file onboard.
               “I’mready for some fresh air, maybe a real cup of coffee.” Sara states from behindas Leonard settles into the Captain chair. “Some actual sunshine wouldn’t hurteither.”
               “Icould use a beer, and nice greasy cheeseburger.” Mick agrees from the otherside of the ship.
               “Whatabout you Len?” Sara asks as he pilots them into the timestream.
               “I’lljust be glad for some peace and quiet,” he replies, they both make sounds ofagreement before continuing their conversation. He parks the jumpship farenough out not to be accidentally discovered, but close enough that it’s withinwalking distance of the city itself.
               “Beforewe leave,” Len fishes out the I.D.s he’d had printed, “we’ll likely needthese.”
               Sara chuckles,pulling out a small wallet. “Great minds?”
               Hesmirks, “So it would appear.” He hands Mick his card, tucking Sara’s back intothe luggage. From there they make their way onto the crowded street. “There’s ahotel about four blocks up.” Len motions to one of the towering buildingsahead.
               Saranods, shifting so that she’s just a step behind him. “How far from the arena?”
               Heshrugs, “Twenty-minute taxi ride, depending on traffic.”
               Theywalk in relative silence, Leonard weaving between people with a practiced ease,noting Sara does the same. An ability Mick has never needed, as peoplenaturally part when his partner approaches. Soon Sara is making her way to theconcierge desk while he and Mick stack what little luggage they have onto acart.
               Sarareturns, grinning more like a cat than a canary. “Let’s go get settled in.” Lenraises a brow, but motions for her to lead. They ride the elevator up to thetop floor, and she offers a sideways grin as they step out. A swift swipe ofthe room key and they are stepping into a lounge area of what Len assumes is apresidential suite.
               Windowsline the far wall, offering an impressive view of the skyline. Several couches,with coffee tables and more pillows than one could ever need. He can see atleast one large bed through a door at the far end, and a kitchen, including abar, on the left. Everything is in wood or a beige, and he doesn’t want to knowwhat Sara paid for the key in her hand.
               “Thisis a pretty sweet pad, Blondie,” Mick looks over at her, tossing his bag ontoone of the couches.
               Sarajust shrugs, “The only instructions from Rip were to stay in a hotel, andGideon was kind enough to cover whatever spending may be required.” She handedthem each a room key. “Only problem is that there are only two beds.” Shemotions to the room Len had seen, then shrugs. “Figure someone can take a coucheach night.”
               Lencan’t help but smirk, “You’ve got good taste.” He drawls, grabbing his ownsuitcase to investigate the bedroom.
               “I’llsay!” Mick chimes in, moving toward the kitchen. “Look at this bar!” He grinsat Sara, “Let me see that card, I’m ordering room service for dinner.”
               Saralaughs, tossing the credit card at Mick, then turns back to Len. She motionstoward the other end of the room. “They said there’s an office space attached.”She shrugs, “Somewhere to look over the plans I’m sure you’ve brought.” Hereyes sparkle, an almost smile on her lips. “Get your peace and quiet for abit.”
               He’snot sure what to make of that, if he’s honest. So he just smirks, “Thoughtful,Assassin.”
               “I dotry.” And then she’s disappearing into the attached room.
               Once hisbag is put away he goes to investigate the study, and is pleasantly surprised.It’s a spacious room, with a massive desk and surrounded by more windows. Hesettles into the expensive rolling chair, blueprints spread across the surfaceas he becomes absorbed into the work.
               Hisattention is drawn by a sharp knock on the door; looking up he finds Sara smilingat him. “Hungry?” she motions toward the kitchen with her head, “Mick orderedpretty much everything the kitchen has to offer.”
               “Ourdear Captain is not likely to let us out again,” he drawls, shaking his head.
               Sarashrugs. “All the more reason to enjoy it now.” She holds out a hand. “Come on,Crook. Time to share your plan with the rest of us.”
               Hepushes back from the desk, rising to follow her back into the gathering space.She’s right about Mick ordering the whole menu, plates and trays taking upevery inch of the table and ottoman. Leonard is relatively sure he’s pulledheists worth less than this meal cost. “So,” Sara draws his attention once moreas she settles onto one of the couches. “What’s the plan?”
               “Well,”he drawls, settling into a recliner opposite her, which put Mick on the couchbetween them. “Until we can get eyes on the exact location of the target I canonly make a rough strategy.” He motions out the expansive windows, “But we doneed a cover to get in.” He grabs several of the finger foods spread beforehim. “I can get in as a sponsor.”
               “Trainerwould be easier,” Sara interjects, gaining a raised brow. “Investors are justthere to see the show, but a trainer is going to have more access.”
               “I’maware, and was thinking you are a better fit for the role,” he replies, headtilting in question. “So how do you expect to get yourself in?”
               Shegives a shrug, popping a bite of sushi into her mouth. “Romantic partner.”
               Lenknows his eyes widen some; Mick just chuckles as Leonard watches herquestioning. “Are you sure?”
               She justsmirks back at him. “I’ve been Rip’s partner twice.” She makes a point ofshifting closer to Mick, flashing him a sultry grin. “I think I can handle datinga rogue for a few days.”
               “Good, nowthat’s all settled.” Mick grabs a remote for the large flatscreen mounted tothe wall, arm settling over Sara’s shoulders. “I say we call it a night andfinish plannin’ in the morning.”
               Saraand Len share a quick glance, both shrugging before settling back into theirseats as Mick picks some kind of action thriller. They fall into acompanionable silence aside from the occasional critique thrown toward thescreen.
               As themovie comes to a close, Sara looks between the boys. “Okay, so who’s taking thecouch first?”
               Leonardfrowns. “Both beds are queens.”
               Saralooks at him, an amused tilt to her lips. “Are you suggesting we double up?”
               Hesighs. “I’m suggesting that we are more likely to assume someone has broken inif one of us is moving around this space at night.”
               Micklooks between them. “Fine, but I ain’t sharing.”
               Saracatches Len’s gaze, head tilting in question. It’s not like they haven’t sleptin the same bed before: she’s turned up at his door on the ship afternightmares; he’s dozed off after a cards in her room. “We could make it work,”Sara offers a mock glare, “Just don’t try anything funny.”
               Hesmirks. “Wouldn’t dream of it, Assassin.”
               “Alrightthen.” She rises, hands pulled over her head in a stretch. “I’m going to goenjoy that jacuzzi tub before turning in.” She smiles between them. “You boyshave fun.” She pats Mick on the shoulder and then disappears into the bedroom.
               “Smoothone, boss.” A smirk is playing at Mick’s lips.
               Leonardlooks at his partner. “What are you talking about?”
               Mickrolls his eyes. “Suggesting sharing a bed.”
               “Ididn’t. You did.” Len settles back into the chair, taking a drink of his beer.
               “Comeon, Snart. You’ve had your eyes on Sara since that bar fight months ago.”  Mick’s arms cross. “In fact ‘m surprised youdidn’t try getting ‘er to play your partnerin this job.”
               Thistime, it’s Leonard who scoffs. “I respect her and find her presence moretolerable than the other hero types on the ship.”
               Mickjust gives a slow, disbelieving nod. “Whatever you say, boss.” From there, Mickturns on another action flick, and Leonard returns to the office to try andiron out a more solid plan. By the time he enters the bedroom, the others areboth in bed. Mick is spread across most of his bed, snoring like a log. Sara onthe other hand is curled on the far side of the second bed, her blonde hairabout the only thing that can be seen above the covers.
               Leonardchanges into shorts and undershirt, slipping soundlessly beneath the sheets onthe other side of the bed. Sara stirs slightly, but does not appear to fullywake. They are positioned with their backs to one another, leaving Len facinghis partner’s bed and closer to the door. Like everything else about the room,the beds are impressive, and it takes very little time for him to drift off.
~~~
               WhenLeonard wakes up the next morning, it’s to a small stream of sunlight that hassnuck between the curtains. Instantly he notes Sara is no longer occupying theother side of the bed, while he can still hear Mick’s snores behind him. Herises, quickly dressing and slipping out of the bedroom.
               Thegathering space is empty, but the door to the balcony has been propped open. Ashe approaches the door, he can see Sara where she’s standing near the railing.She’s still wearing the form fitting tank and shorts that she’d slept in, hairpulled in a ponytail to keep the wind from blowing in into her face. She’sworking through one of the routines she’d learned at the League: a slightvariation to the one he’s watched her go through in the cargo bay of theWaverider.
               Asalways, he’s caught by the deadly grace of her movements, eyes following hertoned arms and back as the muscles beneath shift with each movement. He leansagainst the doorframe, arms crossing over his chest as he watches her. Shemakes eye contact briefly, an amused smile at her lips before her focus returnsto her next move.
               As sheslides out of the last move, her attention shifts back to him as she saunterstoward the door. “See something you like, Leonard?”
               “Justappreciating the show.” He smirks down at her. “After all, not many get to seeLeague training in action and live to tell.”
               “Mhm,I’m sure that was it.” The amused look is back as she brushes past him,grabbing a water bottle which she proceeds to down the contents of.  He follows her into the kitchen, where shehits the power button on the fancy coffee maker, then proceeds to open cabinetsuntil she locates the mugs. “Coffee, Crook?”
               “Sure.”He nods, checking his hip against one of the counters.
               “Mickstill out?” she asks, gaining another short nod. “Can’t say I blame him, thebeds are pretty amazing.”
               “Youslept well then?” he inquires, head tilting slightly.
               “Very,you?” she replies, mirroring his posture against the other counter.
               “I did,”he motions toward the office space, “and I owe you thanks for study. I got alot of preparations complete last night.”
               Shegrins. “Well, you did say you wanted some peace and quiet.” She turns to placethe small plastic packages into the coffee maker, filling both mugs beforeholding one out to him.  He accepts,moving to find some sugar and cream while she drinks hers black. “Care to walkme through things while our star gets his beauty sleep?”
               Hechuckles, motioning toward the study. “This way, Assassin.”
               Soonthey are settled on opposite sides of the desk, pouring over the blueprints andother notes Leonard had gotten about the building and event. “So,” Sara leansback in her chair, “we get in, get Mick in the ring, then what?”
               “If I’mhis trainer, I’ll have to stay ring side, but you,” he looks at her, “you’ll beable to move around in the back rooms without drawing suspicion.”
               Shenods. “Alright. So I go find our weapon, straight forward enough.” She giveshim an amused look. “Think you can keep Mick from wiping the floor with the guywho’s supposed to win this?”
               Leonardsmirks back at her, setting his now empty mug on the desk. “I have a plan inplace for that as well.” They hear a door close, then heavy footfalls in theother room. “Speaking of,”
               Saralaughs, distracting Len from his own quip on the topic. “Hotel has acomplementary breakfast downstairs.”
