When the fuck was anyone gonna tell me Ed Greenwood had a youtube channel [x] where he does shockingly well produced lore videos on little tidbits of the Forgotten Realms, straight from his home campaign to the greater rpg community.

Both of these videos related to Eilistraee and non-Lolth sworn drow settlements are a godsend. Visiting Imberlur someday would be a dream come true for my Tav, and I can totally see an astral projection trip into Eilistraee's court when she reaches the climax of her story, similar to how Gale had a one-on-one with Mystra towards the end.

Thank you Ed your little side stories are worth their weight in gold while WotC continues to do nothing with these elements that have been around for literally over 30 years.

FAV APOLLO / PJO SHIPS GO 💞

OOOO difficult ask! I'm not usually someone who focuses on ships that much so I don't have many favourites (despite giving the opposite, much more intense impression) but there are some that make me particularly. How should I put this. Unwell

1. Apollo/Hyacinthus! I know that it's usually considered a boring ship because we were effectively shown 1% of what Hyacinthus' real personality might've been (Apollo spends more time thinking about his death than about his life doesn't he), but I'm hopeless over these two. I don't know what it is that's doing this to me

Maybe it's Hyacinthus potentially being much less perfect than what the myths present him as (as in stubborn and flawed, not homicidal and deranged and whatnot. Let's leave that to Commodus). Maybe it's Apollo's constant waiting and mourning over someone who will never really return. Maybe it's the love persevering despite it all. Maybe it's the mystery behind this man being so extraordinary that not only Apollo never forgot about him (to the point of still being reactive over any mention of him, as if the grief were still fresh) but also wished to be turned mortal just so he could die and be with him

Like dude who ARE YOU what's the deal with you how did you and this god tie your souls together so tightly that he's not known true happiness ever since you died

2. Apollo/Commodus. I have no good excuse or elaborate analysis for this one I just love drama and watching things burn to the ground. A flawed man who sees the good in everyone he lays his eyes upon VS a flawed man who hasn't got anything good inside him anymore. The desperate attempt to save someone who cannot be saved. Poetic cinema

(I do like to explore scenarios where these two reconcile though, because I do still believe that there's just the tiniest chance that Commodus might've been redeemed) (🤡)

3. Apollo/Naomi, the only (modern) rrverse relationship of his that we know anything about LMAO

I've been drawn to this ship mostly through fanfics but I do enjoy even what little content we have about them in canon. Between the song Naomi composed and Apollo's digressions about her in TOA they seem to still really care about each other, plus I'm quite convinced that he still watches over her because idk about you but the crowds cheering EXACTLY when the song about him comes on is a pretty obvious sign of a blessing to me

I'm actually still writing a fic about them!! Hopefully it'll see the light of day someday but anyway if I'm willingly writing something about a ship you just know that I'm not normal about it in any way shape or form

Goodness, I've left this in my inbox for several months--I apologize for making you wait so long for a response, Clara!!

As far as canon Limbus goes, the Sinners don't really get whole days off, but I like to believe that sometimes they make stops around the City for shopping (which has all but been confirmed to happen in Canto VI--love seeing my headcanons be canon) and the like! Sherry isn't big on leaving Mephistopheles, but usually someone will convince her to leave ... usually Don Quixote.

In such scenarios, Sherry will usually hang back with Ishmael, who I feel isn't big on shopping or sightseeing, either--she's here to do her job, not tour the City. This gives them plenty of time to catch up on what the other's been up to since they last saw each other!

I do think they browse a bit, though, and sometimes come across something interesting--little trinkets and accessories. Maybe Ishmael likes collecting ribbons for the little bows in her headband, and Sherry helps her with that. And Sherry could always use a new journal/pen, given how much she writes.

Also!! During downtime on the bus, Ishmael and Sherry help each other with their hair!! I actually like the idea that all the female Sinners (save a certain someone) get together and do each other's hair ... Ishmael braiding Sherry's hair and letting her try on different accessories is very cute to me (and Don Quixote and Rodya are there, too ... Ryōshū and Outis are also there, but more as critics /lh).

Oh, and at those little meetings, the girls love to tease Sherry about Heathcliff--sometimes they drag him in for his opinion on certain accessories, too, and he's confused, but also I can see him smirking because Sherry is visibly irritated about him being there as Rodya and Don Quixote put bows in her hair.

So I figured out a neat way to interact with the memory bank, which is to make a holo interface on my wristband so I can see everything as different files. This isn't really useful to me aside from as a way to alter or restrict access to specific memories easier (which I don't really do at all unless it's really minor), since I just... do not interact with the memory bank the same as the others here by default.

#anyway now there's a neat little display and if I want to scramble a memory of something that wouldn't be useful to us and would just offend #(ie shitty post about someone's source that they wouldn't benefit from seeing at all) #I can pull it up as a file #detach different sensory aspects of the memory from each other #cut those into pieces #and scatter them across the memory bank so they're not really able to be put back together that easily #again not something I do very much #just usually things that would throw us off in some way when we don't need to be

Most spiders are cool with me but wolf spiders freak me the hell out. Rescued one from my dad's pool years ago and the second I set it down on the ground all of its babies (which I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT) scattered. I know in theory they are harmless friends but in practice their presence makes me so uncomfortable. I still don't kill them though.

that's fair! the babies thing IS kind of alarming to see, especially if you're not ready for it ^^;; if it helps, spiderlings only stay with their mother for a couple of weeks and, during that time, only leave her if disturbed, so it's reasonably unlikely that any given individual will explode babies (I've only ever seen mother wolfs carrying babies a couple of times, myself). many wolf spiders also closely resemble members of several other families of spider, so it's also fairly likely that any given wolf spider is actually a male grass spider looking for a girlfriend! I know that doesn't necessarily tip the balance on a gut discomfort, though ^^;

wolf spiders are also completely unique in this kind of parental care, and extremely rare among spiders for doing any parental care at all! another family of spiders known for protecting and providing for their young after they're born are literally named for the behavior (the nursery-web spiders: they build a shelter for their young to live in, and watch over them until they disperse). both families are active hunters (they don't build webs) and also carry their eggs with them; wolf spiders drag the eggsac behind attached to the spinnerets, and nursery web spiders carry them SUPER awkwardly under their bellies for some reason?? the families are very visually similar (the most reliable way to tell them apart is by how their eyes are arranged) but some nursery spiders get FUCKIN, COLOSSAL, so if you've ever seen a wolf spider the size of a goddamn dinner plate it was probably actually a nursery web or fishing spider, lmao. ...this is all completely unrelated to your ask, btw, I'm just on a stream of consciousness spider tangent now cause I think they're neat 👉👈

The weather is keeping the nice Heathlock thoughts coming ... thought about College AU and how Sherry gets her augmentation procedure during the first summer break. Heathcliff would be stopping by constantly until he sees she's back from the hospital and is recovering (but he would also tackle her in a hug with a bit more force than she's probably ready for--) since he's worried about her.

But also him helping her get the hang of her newfound strength is so sweet? She comes back from her procedure with so much strength, she has to relearn how to pick up objects without shattering or crushing them in her grip, and she'd be scared to touch her friends and family because she doesn't want to hurt them. But Heathcliff would be patient and help her through that ... and you can bet the first person she'll hug when she has control over her power will be him.

Like this one, his sketches usually consist of: silly drawings of the Rangers (mostly Ortega because how can he not make fun of him), cats or other animals he's seen that day, other things like armour concepts, random squiggles that he just colours or turns into some sort of fucked up city (which is sort of a reflection of how I imagine his mindscape looks like) - and if he has the time/got markers or something close by he'll colour it all in every colour
