luffy had to meet zoro and nami first. they’re the fundamental foundation he needed to build a crew - once he has them, the rest must follow. zoro comes first, bc whatever souls are made of his and luffy’s are the same, and luffy needed someone to watch his back. someone who understood him, someone unwaveringly devoted who he doesn’t need to worry about protecting. and of course nami comes next, to cover their blind spots and turn their goals into tangible reality and keep them on course. she’s the pragmatism and the compass they needed to really get going, the other side of luffy’s coin. do you see it yet?? everyone on the crew is just as vitally important to luffy’s success, but zoro and nami were always going to be first. I’m shaking you by the shoulders they Had To Be First

- noel will, in the span of a few hours, go from saying how much he hates ocean (during choir), to comforting her and telling her how much she means to him (later when she knocks on his door)
- they get lowkey defensive of each other
- like, they are generally pretty cold to people they don’t know, but when they overhear someone insulting the other, they become openly rude
- the choir has no idea that they are close
- noel has Severe self-esteem issues.
- ocean does her best to comfort him
- half the time she is just rambling about how wrong he is for hating himself
- “how could you even think that- you’re so cool and kind, and anyone who doesn’t see that is stupid-”
- ocean has a drawer of her clothes in noel’s room, they’re the only clothes she has that smell clean.
- the two of them debate movies all the time, because 90% of the time thats what they do after ocean is calmed in the evenings.
- ocean makes noel little gifts, like friendship bracelets and bookmarks
- noel lets ocean read his poetry
- she loves it, but insists on correcting any grammar or spelling she can find, even if it’s a stylistic choice

Some characters for an assignment
the story with these two is basically this:
Two werewolves left their underground werewolf society to secretly live in the human world and share rent. Their transformations are oppositely synced with each other. When one is the owner the other is the pet for a month until they swap positions on the next full moon. Willy Johnson the Cocker Spaniel is an excitable well groomed man who loves to look good and make conversation. He comes from a long line of werewolves who live to hunt but much prefers accessorizing and getting attention from the people around him. Bernadette Santos is a Saint Bernard. What she lacks in charisma she makes up for in strength. She is certainly the breadwinner out of the two. She seems to constantly have furrowed brows and a permanent scowl. You’d think she is quite easy to anger but it is actually quite difficult, but you definitely don’t want to be there when she is.
With such a drastic difference of personality as well shifting from dog form to human every month and constantly trying to hide that from your employers and neighbors, and making sure doctor/vet and grooming appointments don't clash can cause some interesting shenanigans to ensue.
Some other misc sketches
