this is. um. a Jet Set Radio/Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Death joke AU, spawned out of a in-joke that started in a pokepasta discord. my apologies to both the pokepasta and jsr fandoms

the entire basis is the idea that Corn in Future retconned og JSR Beat as leader/founder of the GGs (is beat being leader in the og even CANON?) so Corn and Beat are the Myras. no it's not a joke funny enough to justify how many hours i sunk into drawing these. no attempt was made to change the setting, assign most of the other cast, or otherwise make this au hold up to ANY amount of scrutiny. if i tried to make this actually work somehow then i'd REALLY end up too far gone. also i keep calling myrtle!beat "Meat".

BUT LIKE. HONESTLY. I AM. AUTISTIC ABOUT THE ART PROCESS ITSELF. ABOUT SHAPE LANGUAGE AMD COLOR LANGUAGE AND HOW A DESIGN IS LIKE. A Strong character design with a clear intention behind it should not just Look Cool (though that is an added bonus!!!) it should tell a story in and of itself!!!!!!!! That, even at a glance, you can get a feel for who this character is, what their personality is, what role they play and/or are forced into, AND ALSO!!!

Something I'm esp autistic about tbh as someone who has an interest in fashion/crafting/sewing as well, how the clothes Work With the character. In a few different ways: again, the clothes themselves tell a story! The costuming! But also! How does the character move in them? What does that Say about that character? Where are they from? Not to mention the shape language/colors come back again, now w alllll the fucked up shit you can do with fabric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fluffy? Not just in the fur sense (eg, a petticoat with bouncy puffy frills)? Could be a really bubbly character!!! Flowy? Graceful? Could be someone who's mature, knowledgeable, wise. A female character who opts to wear shorts instead of a skirt? Could be sporty! Or practical! And also in general Big Clothes/accessories can make a character look imposing.

LIKE...... reading this over it is so basics character design 101 but like. I am ALWAYS frothing at the mouth about it 😅

finished dante's campaign of dmc2!! it was bad!!! <3 and i can't tell if it's anticlimactic or a surprising show of mercy that it only took around 4 hours

one of the biggest ironies of my life that i was thinking about yesterday - i know that drag and drop / node-based 'coding' helps a wider (usually more visual) variety of brain types learn to program. this was the entire basis of the research group i was on for seven years in the burgh, and i completely agree with and support it. but im not that way at ALL. im that stereotype who likes pure code, and finds it easier to read the language and find patterns in the words/numbers/formatted lines than in nodes. i HATE nodes, and sometimes even fellow programmers look at me like im crazy for it.

Like dont give me that pretty but controlled interface, i want to know whats underneath.

I finally designed my whole clan from the story i have spining around in my head!! (Except the pov’s cause I already have them designed) if I animate them one day i will have to tone down there designs a bit, especially the scars i may have to give cats only one or two as i am not animating all that lol. Also tw for some injuries that have healed on cats, hungry cats and one sick cat in case you don’t want to see that

Any disabled cats are allowed to be warriors to the best of there abilities fennelberry (the cream cat who is paralyzed) stays in camp most of the time due to fear of her hurting herself in there mostly snowy and rocky home but is considered a full warrior and mostly helps in camp when she is able and wants to. Hollystripe (the blind elder) was a blind warrior for many moons before retiring.

(also the gray warrior/queen in this time period ashspot i forgor to give any scars but I’ll probably update that at some point)

winterclan sees scars and white/pale colored or even rock colored cats as the most attractive ones and shows an ability to survive in there cold mountain home.

(Basically they value a ability to blend in and the proof of power scars bring)
