me after attempting to get back into sims and realizing i had a lot more to do than play the game

#hi everyone #I’m going around hugging you all #okay now that we are gathered here today #i will simply acknowledge that i have been gone for a very long time and then also acknowledge that maybe it was for the best #i relied on sims to be my only creative activity even if i tried to write a book at the same time #and also. i prioritized sims over real life responsibilities. that’s just a deadly combination lol #but I recently noticed I just replaced sims with Netflix. with YouTube. with anything that gave me quick dopamine #literally became addicted in a sense. still am but I’ve been cut cold turkey from most everything #I get off work and go. okay I’ve done the dishes and the laundry……..I could read or write or bake….#I try to write and sometimes i get a good hour #then I read for a few hours and then get tired of it #and I made cookies Tuesday so I’m waiting for those to be gone before baking again #I’m just so pitiful that I feel BORED and don’t know what to do #so I said….. okay what if I do sims for an hour.#I downloaded some new cc Tuesday and tried to play yesterday #y’all ……………….. I can’t find the energy anymore to set up elaborate scenes and pose my sims and plan posts #I said wow… this is boring without my intervention and fake story #I said wow…….. all this for what? for tumblr? yes I created cool things and provided joy. but is that inherintly important compared to my #own joy? my own everyday activities I should be doing?#y’all I do not leave the house unless we got out to eat or shop or travel to our parents #.. I have little desire to. I’m trying to find that desire #but my husband is busy with grad school and work and I don’t want to do anything by myself #I’ve found myself in one heck of a slump #I didn’t want to be human for awhile. just had no desires no interests no ambitions #I was slacking off SO HARD at work. I just had no drive to do well #I’m still working on it. I’m still trying to get caught up. I’m still trying to force myself to move every day.#but I am struggling y’all. and I can tell you that sims… sims isn’t helping rn but I want it to so bad. I want to get back into it #I didn’t mean to disappear on everyone. I got married and then life got busy and then I fell into this hole of nothing #I didn’t even WANT to crawl my way out. but my husband has helped a lot. #red said #HEY FRIENDS BAD NEWS. it's a COVID!!!!#over the last 2 years the chat has been named #plague house #unplague house #replague house #un-replague house #re-replague house #un-re-replague house #and now this #that's Aimee's COVID then me and Sam then Aimee again now me again #we name it unplague celebratorily whenever we're done quarantining #this may seem like a lot of cases of COVID but in fairness #a) 3 of them occurred during the period where Aimee was working at the test centre. although i don't think that's what caused me and Sam's #cause my colleague in the borders went down the same time as me a few days after we met up down there #so i think we both got it at that cafe #and also b) 2 of them happened after people largely stopped testing regularly so all I'm saying is.#i don't think we've had it more than most but i do think between the 3 of us we've stayed pretty good at testing #and we keep track in the chat cause we quarantine separately and thus far have never dealt with a situation where all of us have COVID

I remember talking to a friend last week and saying that if I'm reading obsessively it either means I'm extremely happy or extremely in need of help. alas goodreads my good pal you have GOT to be kidding me

#i have hit 60 books this year. we are three days into april. i have not been at the pinnacle of happiness this year so it is not that lol #ah well we hit rock bottom we bounce back up! i am trying to claw my way to the surface again!#granted this has been a series of not great distracting tactics to get my mind off the Horrors (i.e. through the mass consumption of #stories in book and film form) but at least i'm recognising and acknowledging it now #i need to actually deal with the Horrors so that there's a chance they'll actually go away!#but i am glad that i HAVE been surrounded by good stories. it has helped. it has been a method of conflict avoidance #in all areas of my life but it HAS helped to have those stories of hope hammered into my head and heart #anyway it looks like i HAVE lost a friend or am very close to losing one because it has been 1.5 weeks and there has been zero response #and there's a ton of Decisions i have to sort through this week #along with other mental health assessments my GP wants me to do #but God is good and He has been very patient with all the bouts of despair and loneliness and frustration etc etc #i just need to keep holding on and keep clawing my way upwards #despite all my failures as a friend and student and probably as a daughter as well this year there has been a lot of grace #and i am trying not to dwell on the past #slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in year 21

I dont have too many thoughts I'm gonna be so honest, I need to think about it more in general since it's been half a year since I first talked about it and also about that long since I watched that part of season 9 BUT ITS FINE WE'RE ROLLING WITH IT-

I've really only thought about how it would happen, with that whole thing being Scar and BDubs talking about how they don't like the decisions Ren is making as king, as well as how other Hermits don't like them. Mainly to do with the diamond spending n such [because he was REALLY bad at managing funds] and it being compared back to the Season 7 Diamond Throne and Mayor Scar cause Scar was just a little bit better at not using community diamonds for other shit

After that it's like "lol what if we just overthrow him and become king?" I can't imagine BDubs being the one to take up the Throne since he's more a kingmaker than a king, so Scar takes up the Throne in Rens place because uhh fuck you King Scar. And also I miss Season 7-

I actually looked back on old messages with my friend from when we first talked about it and I found these which I'm also having a few thoughts about-

I'm pretty sure the "BDubs tryna take hermitcraft for his own" thing came from one time where he called the castle his castle kinda thing? And maybe like... he tries just getting Ren to go along with his ideas more or smth but when that doesn't work he's just like "Hey y'know who'll be evil with me? Scar." I found the messages a total of 10 minuets before I'm writing it so I need to think about it more once again. Idk man they deserve to be evil as a treat

And also half of Rens court was not on board with his shenanigans and only there to get paid from what I remember, so the idea of them turning in him isn't too outlandish I don't think

I have no watched the first half of Season 9 or Scars POV of Season 7 in a while and I really should to flesh this out a bit more but these are my initial thoughts slapped on the table

TLDR - King Scar and I miss BDubs and Scar's dynamic from S7

yeah sex is great but have you ever unflooded your street by removing leaves from the storm drains using the litter-grabber tool you bought from lowe's two weeks ago for that exact purpose?

#every year my street floods in the autumn when it rains heavily. usually multiple times. every year!!!#i hate it it's so stressful. and of course the cars keep driving down it even though it's unsafe. a lot don't even slow down #and they throw up these huge walls of water with their passage #the street becomes totally unusable for pedestrians wheelchair users bikers strollers etc.#it's just the worst. and every year i'm like oh i should get a thingy so i can do something about it #and i never do in time. but this year. THIS year. watch out world #i cleaned out the drains preventively a few times in the past couple weeks but today is the first day of somewhat heavy wind and rain #so i went out this evening and two of the four drains were completely clogged :( but i got out my tool & as soon as i cleared a little spac #a whirlpool formed and sucked all the water into it! with this amazing noise. it was fantastic #then i cleared away the rest of the leaves cuz that tiny spot would get covered up very quickly otherwise #i came back by an hour later and they're still looking great <3 i'm basking in the afterglow #it is funny how much easier a homeowner could do this than me. those people have yard debris cans #they have space for shovels. god. a shovel. my kingdom for a shovel #i'm just piling the leaves on the curb one handful at a time and then leaving them there (out of the way of everyone of course)#because i have nowhere else to put them and no way to transfer them farther distances #but it's mostly just apartments near this intersection so we gotta do it for ourselves #anyway i'm probably gonna have to do it again tomorrow because there are a lot of dead leaves out there right now #but man! i've never been able to do anything about this before except call the city and wait for them to send someone. this feels so good

Can't go into detail because its hush hush not-legally-mentionable stuff but today is my fifth 12 hour no-break work day. I'm also packing to move too in a fortnight (which is a Big Yahoo!! Yippee!! I'll finally have access to a kitchen!! And no more mold others keep growing!!! So exciting!!!)

#syncrovoid.txt #delete later #OKAY SO! this makes it sound like i have a super important job but really we are understaffed and ive barely worked there a year now #graduated college a few years early 'cause i finished high school early (kinda? it's complicated)#now i am in a position where i am in the role of a whole Quality Assurance team (testing and write ups)#a Task Manager/Planner #Software Developer and maybe engineer? not sure the differences. lots of planning and programming and debugging ect ect #plus managing the coworker that messed up and doing his stuff because it just isnt good enough. which i WILL put in my end day notes #our team is like 4 people lol. we severely need more because rhe art department has like 10 people??#crunch time is.. so rough..#its weirdddddd thinking about this job since its like i did a speedrun into a high expectations job BUT in my defense i was hired before #i graduated. and like SURE my graduating class had literally 3 people so like there was a 86%-ish drop out rate??#did a four year course in 2 BY ACCIDENT!! i picked it on a whim. but haha i was picked to give advice and a breakdown on the course so it #could be reworked into a 3 year course (with teachers that dont tell you to learn everything yourself) so that was neat #im rambling again but i have silly little guy privileges and a whole lot of thoughts haha #anywho i am SO hyped to move!! Something I've noticed for a long time-

Almost all the friends I had in my life time have either been gay, trans, and/or geeks. My best friend growing up turned out to be trans, 2 childhood friends are gay (I don't think they ever met each other), someone I used to hang out with out at theater camp who snidely made fun of someone who also transitioned ALSO turned out to be trans (I just learned his new name today lol), I wanted to be friends with a trans masc and a lesbian in high school- heck, I even had a manager that once told me out of the blue he was trans (one of the nicest managers ever). I've had and still have more LGBTQ+ friends and geek friends, but its still just very funny that that's always been my go-to friends.

Most of the trans friends were F to M and were also mostly all geeks. I'm still questioning my own gender conformity, but for all my trans friends throughout my life- I salute you and I am proud of you! You made my life great in every step. Thank you.

#trans visibility #trans visibility day #trans community #there was some tension with one friend pretransition and I didn't understand what being trans meant at the time #so I was hearing and spreading misinformation about his transition and was mad at what he did #we made up in our senior year of high school and he reached out again- but it's still hard to forgive him #he was a good friend who went through a lot of troubles- but I think he's living a better life now #i'm teetering between non-binary and/or genderfluid myself now- but I lived in somewhat anti-lgbtq+ environments in my lifetime #so I'd like to also apologize to my trans friends who I may have unintentionally hurt or misgendered by accident #i hope you are all living with the love and respect you deserve
