Reverse Hallmark Movie. A man from a small town infiltrates a big business using his experience running his parents' store by himself to become an employee under the conglomerate that's ruining his hometown. He gets close to his manager and her kid and uses her clearance to expose the business and sabotage them. She is heartbroken and it comes out that she knew and was rooting for him to save his town, but she didn't think he would use her to do it. She loses her job and breaks up with him after a fight. He tries to find her through her kid but the kid shuns him. They have to move now because her mom has been blacklisted from working at that company. He makes a deal with the conglomerate to reinstate her job by selling his store. He leaves and goes back to his small town, but she stops him and forgives him. She tells him he doesn't have to lose his store for her. They get back together and move into his town together. She starts a small business doing what the conglomerate did, but ethically. Her small business grows, and she can protect the town now. This all has something to do with Christmas somehow. The End.

Transfem Sanji comes back to visit the Baratie and while Carne and Patty are bothering her about whether she's brought back any new spices, Zeff is in crisis. Season 4 hope/prediction: Deb's show is solid, zero issues, runs flawlessly with great ratings, but her personal life is completely eroding. We start with her discovering Marcus is leaving, and it culminates in DJ going into labor right before a taping. Deb chooses the show. When it's over, and she finally flies to Vegas, it's too late -- Aiden's not letting her in because he loves his wife too much to let DJ get into a shouting match with her mom right after giving birth, and instead takes the brunt of Deb's wrath, with her making excuses and talking about how they used her money for IVF, and anyway, DJ's fine, so who cares if she wasn't there? Kathy's in the room with DJ and the baby (DJ's the closest she has to a daughter, after all) and Deb leaves too furious to think about how badly she's hurt her family.

She heads back to her Vegas mansion -- empty, obviously, Josefina and the dogs would be in LA -- and pops open a bottle of wine. Alone. Completely alone. Can't call Marty, she has no friends, the closest she's got would be Kiki and wouldn't that be embarrassing, calling your poker dealer to talk about your feelings --

and then Ava's there. She got the news about DJ's labor, she got the story from Aiden (who was distraught, by the way, man's too much of a sweetheart for Vance drama), a spare key from Damian (happy to pawn that off on her, though if it isn't returned promptly he's taking legal action) and has arrived just in time to see the Deborah Vance having a breakdown the likes of which no one thought physically possible. Crying gives you wrinkles, you know. But Ava has to be here. She's the physical embodiment of a lesson Deb never truly learned: you don't have to like someone to love them.

In my imaginary fantasy land that I am concocting this would then subsequently lead into them fucking nasty but I understand that this may be a step too far for the surprisingly large number of very normal people who watch this show and would forgive JPL for not taking it that far. However I do believe they should fuck about it and let Ava take the reigns in their relationship while they see how many of Deb's bridges they can un-burn.

Staging concept: Ophelia carries around a book that she uses to press different flowers and plants. At one point we see her actually pressing one of the flowers Hamlet's given her before, and we get the impression that she wouldn't part with this book for the world. During the "Get thee to a nunnery" scene, Hamlet rips the book out of her hands, and she goes diving after it to make sure he didn't damage it. And during her final "mad scene", she starts tearing out the relevant pages (rosemary, pansies, fennel, columbines, etc.) to give to everyone present. Laertes is the only one to get the significance of his sister giving away parts of her prized possession, and it adds an extra layer to his grief.

#Some extra foreshadowing and a way to organically work in the book she's given in Act 3 Scene 1... #Listen I have a lot of feelings about how to stage Ophelia's final scene--for me it needs to be about *her*grief first and foremost. #It's so grossly easy to play it voyeuristically but this is a young woman who's been let down by everyone she thought she could trust #and now she's come to her lowest point where nothing feels like it matters anymore. #And that needs to hit the other characters present like a truck--they could have done something to actually *help* her #instead of using her for their own agendas but they didn't. #And for Laertes especially... that's his baby sister and he wasn't there for her and now he's watching her destroy something she loves. #Maybe he tries to give her the page back but she pushes it at him and there's a moment of agonizing eye contact between them #where he knows she still loves him but she's never felt so betrayed by everyone and there's nothing he can do to make it right. #hamlet #ophelia #shakespeare #the schemer speaks

I made some pretty big changes to my album this month, cut some tracks, renamed a few, & wrote a new one about my addictions, which is a topic I didn't really touch on in my other semi-autobiographical songs. I'm calling it dragon race (chasing the dragon, y'know ) & its become my favorite after testament lll & psalms 51:50, which is wild bc those two songs took like 2 months to write vs 2 days for this one. I also decided on a possible name for the album-suffer twice (or sufferx2, not sure which yet). idk if I want to release singles but if I do it'll probably be one of those 3 & I'll post it on here once I'm able to afford to actually produce a demo.
