Hello there ! I thought about this while watching across the spiderverse : what if Miguel s/o's (also a spider-person) decides to help Miles behind Miguel's back without him knowing ? But he ends up realizing it when he sees his s/o alongside Miles back on earth 1610. The reason his s/o did that is because they believes there has to be a way to save Miles' dad while protecting the balance of the Multiverse.

Is it possible for you to write something with this scenario ?

Ooooh very interesting but I could only write a short bit to keep it in line with the movie. It happens when Miguel traps Miles and I thought if he had to deal with heartbreak there, it would lead to more angst. Hope you like it!

You stood in the middle. It was almost like this was another one of your canon events. To choose between doing what is right and the one you love.

Chaos swirled around, all the members who had gathered around you in Miguel’s lab were in an uproar, everyone trying their best to convince this teen boy that he had to accept his fate, that he was about to lose his father.

The spiderverse spread out around you, highlighting the common connection, the sacred thread you do not mess with but all you could focus on was the fear in Miles’s eyes. The poor kid was terrified and yet no one was paying any heed to it. You turned to see the one who meant everything to you.

He stood there, in the middle of it all with his hands resting on his hips, his shoulders slumped from exhaustion but you saw through him like no one else could. If everyone missed the panic that Miles was in, they also missed out on the tears glistening in Miguel’s eyes. Because you knew, you knew how deep he felt the pain of losing someone and yet standing in this position of leadership with his hands tied, he was going to deal this situation with a firm hand.

“You know this is the only way.”, he spoke to you, his eyes pinned on your every move as though he could tell that he was losing you in this mess.

But there had to be a way out. You can’t just let someone die because it was stated by an algorithm, if there was any chance to save Miles’s father, then you were going to take it.

You heard your name be called with authority as you took a step away from Miguel. He was ordering you back, to be by his side. But with the second step, there was fear in his voice and then there was only pain as you slipped further away.

“How can we just let someone die? When we all wear the mantle of a hero?”, you asked, the crowd falling silent to your question. You placed your hand on Miles’s shoulder and he gave you a relieved smile.

“But that is how it is.”, Miguel yelled and you turned to face him.

“The whole fate of the multiverse resides on this one event.”, he furrowed his brows, frustrated and stressed at the same time.

“And I stand to lose everything I’ve built.”, anger flashed across his face as he towered over you.

“I could lose everything.”, now his gaze was fixed on you as he said the words, his tone a little softer, a little broken.

“But Miguel,”, you reached out to place your hand on his chest, to calm him down, to get him to listen to you.

“what if there is another way?”, you pleaded with him. Tears threatening to fall.

“There is no other way.”, he broke free from your hold as he shook his head, his eyes fluctuating between his hazel brown to blood red. You waited for him to see sense but it was too late.

“LYLA lock him up.”, was the command you heard when you felt his grasp tighten around your wrist, pulling you to his side and away from Miles, who was now stuck in a red cell.

“Don’t do this to me.”, he spoke fast in hushed tones but that was because he was about to break.

“Don’t make me choose.”, he pulled you close, with the way he was lowering himself, it was almost as if he was on his knees.

“Miguel just listen to me.”, you were trying to contend with him as the situation around you got out of hand.

But instead he held your face in his hands to get your focus to just be on him, almost like he was at his wits end, pleading you to stay out of it

“This once, just this once turn a blind eye.”, his face contorted in anguish, his attention only on you, his eyes hoping to catch your compliance.

“You know I can’t.”, you felt the tear escape your eye and he bit down on his lower lip, his eyes closing for a second in defeat.

“I’m sorry Miguel.”, you leaned forward to kiss his forehead and break away from his hold as you generated an anomaly cell around him, trapping him within it and your heart broke when you saw the shock in his eyes as he registered what had happened.

Miles broke free from his cell with Hobie’s help and your focus turned to him as he waited for you, unsure if you were going to join him.

The second passed by slowly, as you took off running with him and you threw a glance over your shoulder.

You watched in slow motion as Miguel unleashed all his fury against the red cell walls, his claws scratching away at it but it was the way he screamed your name that made your eyes blur with tears, you couldn’t help but witness the utter devastation in his eyes and the wet stains that marked the sides of his face.

15th of December 1900 is the most likely date that the three lighthouse keepers of the year old Flannan Isles Lighthouse disappeared.

The building of Flannan Lighthouse was plagued with accidents, several workers died or vanished while working on the lighthouse, it took about 4 years to complete. Legend has it the island was said to be inhabited by mysterious “little people.” Large birds also were said to live there, too, and have contact with these little people.

Na h-Eileanan Flannach is the Scottish Gaelic name of the small group of islands known in English as the Flannan Isles. They are a bird sanctuary and at times a place of beauty. At others these remote islands bear the brunt of severe Atlantic storms, which whip the seas into frenzy and force even the hardy gulls to stay sheltered in the cliff face crags. For many years they have remained uninhabited, the last residents of any length being the lighthouse keepers, who between 1899 and its automation in 1971, kept the light burning on the highest point of the island group, Eilean Mòr.

On the island of Eilean Mòr is the ruin of an old chapel dedicated to St Flannan. However, over many centuries for many of the Gaelic Hebridean community the islands have been viewed as a place of superstition and bad luck. A view that was reinforced by the tragic and mysterious events that befell the lighthouse keepers on Eilean Mòr in mid-December 1900.

It is the fate of the lighthouse keepers, James Ducat, Thomas Marshall, and Donald McArthur, in 1900; just over one year after the island’s lighthouse came into operation that is the cause of much mystery and speculation. For all three keepers disappeared without trace. It was on 15th December 1900 that the ship Archtor which was sailing for Scotland from Philadelphia had reported that as they passed the islands the lighthouse was not in operation. In those days there was no radio communication between the keepers on Eilean Mòr and the shore station of Breasclete on Lewis.

When the lighthouse tender arrived on 26th December 1900 having been delayed due to adverse conditions.

There was no welcome from the lighthouse keepers, no flag on the flagstaff and no provision boxes left for them as was customary.

The relief keeper Joseph Moore was sent to investigate further and found the main door and gate to the compound closed, the beds unmade and the clock stopped. They also found a set of oilskins, suggesting one of the keepers to have left without them – unusual and worrying considering the poor weather conditions that had been recorded in the log.

The island was scoured for clues, or any sign of the keepers, but nothing was found. The west landing had received considerable damage, with turf ripped up and a box of supplies destroyed, with its contents strewn about. The keepers log proved that this damage had occurred before the disappearance.

The log leading up to the men’s disappearance included some strange entries, with descriptions of an awful storm, high winds, and low spirits amongst the keepers. There were however no reports of storms in the area in the days leading up to the disappearance, meaning that the poor weather conditions recorded in the log were either made up, or localised.

To this day no one knows what took place in the lighthouse that night, but many theories have developed over the years.

The more far-fetched of these theories suggest they had been carried away by a giant seabird, had been abducted by spies or had simply escaped to start new lives. The perhaps more plausible theories suggest that the keepers had been swept away when trying to secure a box in a crevice above sea level. Other theories suggest the psychology of the lighthouse keepers played a part. MacArthur had a reputation for brawling and was known to be violent. It is suggested by some that a fight broke out on the cliff edge, causing the men to fall to their deaths.

It was only after 1912, when English poet Wilfrid Wilson Gibson published his epic, Flannan Isle, that the story began to assume such an air of mystery, speculation, even intrigue. In general for lighthouse keepers themselves, there is no mystery and never has been, my uncle worked for the Lighthouse Board, and he says it was a freak wave that swept the men to their deaths, this is the assumption of many who worked the Islands around Scotland, but in truth we will never know what happened.

GREENWOOD, Dist. – On the 102nd anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, the Tulsa Community Remembrance Coalition honors unknown victims with a solemn soil collection ceremony at Standpipe Hill in the Historic Greenwood District. The gathered soil, collected from both Standpipe Hill and Oaklawn Cemetery, honors those whose lives were tragically lost during this dark and painful moment in history.

The exact number of victims who perished in the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 remains unknown. However, estimations range from 300 to upwards of 500. The event, which took place over a two-day period from May 31 to June 1, resulted in widespread destruction and loss of life in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma, also known as “Black Wall Street.” However, due to the chaotic nature of the massacre, the destruction of records, and a lack of comprehensive investigations, an accurate and final count of the victims has never been determined.

Recent efforts to uncover the full extent of the tragedy continue, including through forensic investigations and testimonies from survivors and their descendants.

Greg Robinson, a member of the Tulsa Community Remembrance Coalition, emphasized the significance of gathering at Standpipe Hill. “It is amazing that we honor those unknown who were lost in the Tulsa Race Massacre. That we do it here on truly sacred ground – that actually represents the greatness of what Black Wall Street was, is and will be into the future,” Robinson shared. He then honored the American World War I veterans who lost their lives. “It is not lost on us that we honor veterans on this day as well,” Robinson added. 

During the ceremony, Kristi Williams, a member of the Tulsa Remembrance Coalition and a descendant of the massacre, delivered a poignant reading. Through her words, she reminded everyone in attendance of the historical significance of the Tulsa Race Massacre and shed light on the countless victims whose identities have been lost to time, emphasizing the need to remember and honor them.

“Less than two dozen victims have been documented by name, but research has estimated that hundreds of Black men, women and children died in the massacre,” Williams sternly explained. 

During Williams’ address, she shared an intriguing detail about the majestic hackberry tree standing tall on Standpipe Hill. She then revealed that this remarkable tree possesses a special ability to grow thick bark over the areas that were once damaged by fire, creating a protective shield against future harm, explaining that its resilient characteristic serves as a metaphor for the community’s ability to heal and endure in the face of adversity.

Williams proceeded to recount the heroic tale of Horace ‘Peg leg’ Taylor, a World War I veteran. She described how Taylor courageously positioned himself atop Standpipe Hill, wielding a gatling gun, and valiantly defended the hill for hours, providing a vital shield for the residents of Greenwood as they sought to escape from the violent White mob.

US Veteran Kenneth ‘K.Roc’ Brant, who works for the Terence Crutcher Foundation, shared a deeply personal reflection on the mental struggle he faced during the Centennial of the Massacre back in 2021. 

He recounted the challenge of honoring both the victims of the Tulsa Race Massacre and the veterans during the centennial commemoration, which coincided with Memorial Day weekend. 

“That weekend weighed heavily on me. [I was] torn as a Black military veteran and a Black man living in Tulsa,” Brant shared. At the ceremony, Brant recited a poem he wrote called “Holding Space” to express the thoughts and feelings he experienced. “This weekend, we remembered that some gave all. Here in Tulsa, we remembered that some took all. How do I hold space for both?” Brant said.

Brant’s individual story sheds light on the emotional and psychological battle he endured during his time in service and while navigating the complexities of what Black soldiers experienced during the Massacre upon their return to Tulsa after WWI.

With that in mind, the Flower Scene in the mid-event cutscene bonanza really takes on some more meaning imo (paraphrased here, parts of Clément's dialogue are cut)

Clément elaborates on his love for the flower, and how it brought peace and some measure of understanding to the Sarkaz and Sankta residents of the abbey. But the fire was harsh; none of the flowers were spared. Except:

Clément remarks that he "used to believe things would survive, no matter the adversity" before this exchange comes around:

This leads into one of the event CGs, so you know it's an important scene:

Not a difficult read as a metaphor for the Abbey's community. There are subtle flaws, cracks in their community; and with the arrival of the Laterans and promised salvation for some, those cracks are forced into rifts. Their bonds of friendship are tested, and fail.

However, what do we do from there? Do we find any value in the place having existed at all?

The sterile scent of disinfectant did little to ease the churning in your stomach. You darted through the busy corridors, careful not to upset any patients or nurses assisting them. Your feet barely touched the ground before they lunged forward in another lunge. 

The residency you'd clawed your way towards for six years was crashing in front of your eyes. A dream that felt increasingly borrowed, yet losing it felt like losing the last piece of sanity you held onto.

You had to explain. It was your word against theirs. It all started with your outspokenness that just couldn't be contained. What need was there to comment on Dr. Kim or his breach of safety protocol during surgery?

 Some good standing for the right had done you. Now the accusations of malpractice hung heavy, a convenient scapegoat for a resident with an unknown past.

“May I come in?” you knock on the looming conference door that stood between you and your dreams. Taking a deep breath you step in, your eyes barely registering anything before you find him!

The stranger who now stood decked out in a suit. His dark hair, straight and sleek, framed eyes that held a glint of steel yet a lingering mirth of recognition.

“Gods, what is that?” One of the hikers in your group shrieked. The entire group paused in their way. 

Not soon the high-pitched voices called for a doctor. “We need a doctor!” The camp leader announced.

“Do we have a medical practitioner in the camp?” And that became your chance to shine. 3rd year resident at Lorien. You stepped forward expecting an exhausted dehydrated hiker only to find a silhouette of a man. 

Shrouded in scrapes and cuts, and smeared with mountain dirt, he was no more than the rocks surrounding you. The blue tinge to his skin sent a jolt of fear through you. Hypothermia was a harsh mistress in these unforgiving heights.

"Please move, I'm a doctor," you announced, crouching beside him. His wrist, frail and exposed, felt cool under your touch. Yet, beneath the chill, a steady pulse thrummed – a defiant echo of life clinging to a fragile thread.

There it was. The steady and firm beat of life even in the worst of adversity. 

He became your days and your nights for the next week. Your cautious treatment of man teetering on the edge of leaving the world at the slightest whisk of air. 

A stranger with beauty that even death seemed to want to covet. His hair long and matted with debris of every possible kind imagined. What was he doing on a lonely mountain? The blistering soles of his feet were proof of shoes long gone, tattered jacket scourged from him lost to wear of time. 

Days blurred into nights. You questioned him tirelessly, your voice a stark contrast to the mountain's silence. "Who are you? What brought you here?" Each time, silence was your only answer. You knew it was a long shot; an unconscious patient wouldn't be much for conversation..

One morning, your makeshift camp was eerily empty. The nameless man had vanished, leaving only the ghost of his presence in the undisturbed earth and the lingering scent of pine needles on the air.

Panic clawed at your throat. Had he succumbed to the harsh elements during the night? Had he chosen to disappear back into the wilderness? You searched the mountain, each step fueled by a desperate hope and a burgeoning fear.

You searched frantically, clinging to the mountain long after your group had descended, until the demands of your residency dragged you back to your world.

Present~

The air crackled with disbelief. The very man you'd nursed back from the brink on a desolate mountaintop now stood across from you in the sterile conference room, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Pleasant to meet you again," he rumbled, his voice surprisingly gentle considering the disarray he caused amongst the assembled group. "Kanafinwe," he inclined his head in a courtly bow, the incongruity of his archaic mannerisms in this modern setting sending shivers down your spine.

It just so happened the nomad, the one you'd treated with calloused hands and limited supplies, was Kanafinwe, the second son of the Noldor conglomerate – the very entity your entire hospital prostrated itself to on a daily basis.

Perhaps this time around your words will hold some weight.

                                     MYSTIC WOODS MASQUERADE EVENT

Founder’s Week and the Hollow Hootenanny is an annual event that has taken place in Redwood Hollow for as long as anyone could remember, and through adversity, it returns.

It seems in the past few years that unfortunate events have surrounded Founder’s Week, from break-ins, to theft of important town heirlooms, to suspected poisonings. Then again, weird things have been happening all throughout the past few years, leaving the people of Redwood Hollow more on edge than ever.

The circus’s visit in October was enough to have Mayor Burton question the need for events in town, after it ended so disastrously. For a time, he even considered shutting down the Community Events Committee for good. But advisors assured him that shutting down the committee would be terrible for the community in the long run. If disaster was going to strike, it would strike anyway; there was no point in leaving the town bored and miserable just in case.

And so, with a tentative dip back into a real community event, the Valentine’s Day Blind Date event went off without any real hitches. Food drives, song contests and an art contest here and there and things really seemed to be looking up again.

Queue Founder’s Week. Mayor Burton had been convinced to give the committee the go-ahead in order to boost town morale. The market prepared their stalls, guest artisans prepared their very best wares for the influx of tourists, and the Redwood Hollow Museum put together a special exhibition walking through significant events in the history of Redwood Hollow. Sadly, a space still remains where the infamous stolen book once lay. It now features an explanation of sorts, with the hopes that one day it will be returned to its rightful place in the heart of town.

As always, The Chest of Hope will be open during Founder’s Week, with hopes displayed at the entrance of the Hollow Hootenanny.

Now, Founder’s Week would not be the exciting time that it is, without the beloved Hollow Hootenanny to close the week. Perhaps due to the growing mystery surrounding Redwood Hollow in these past few years, it is fitting (or, perhaps, a little on the nose) that the Hootenanny theme reflects that. This year, all residents and visitors are invited to attend the Mystic Woods Masquerade. That’s right. A masked ball (just what we need when suspicions are already high). Look out your best regalia, revise your waltz step and get practising your fan signals. You will not be granted access if you are not wearing a mask.

Various prizes will be awarded throughout the night, including best dressed, most spectacular mask, and the most mysterious overall look. To add a little mystery, the events committee has suggested that all those invited attend alone, and do not reveal your masks before the party. The true test of your relationships will be in finding your friends and partners amongst the crowd.

When the clock strikes midnight, all faces will be revealed.

The surgeons are determined to shut down Quovadis after Henry Barnett almost loses his life due to a device malfunction. As Mina and Devon set out to find the truth, Bell, AJ and Conrad work to save the life of Chastain's favorite custodian, Simon.

I was rooting for Conrad's dad to finally step up, but ofc he only cares about money. Were the photos he had the one's Julian took? I don't blame Henry's mum for taking the bribe. She was doing what she had to do to secure her son's future healthcare needs. Also, where have Bell's hand tremors gone?

These thoughts come from interpreting both the og RE4 dossiers and the RE4RE dossiers, as the former gives a clear cut explanation to things, and the latter gives a more in-depth expansion on these notes.

One thing that I really think is a huge part of Ashley's characterization is the fact that she comes from a privileged background.

Considering her father was able to secure a seat as the POTUS for two back-to-back terms, we can assume he's had an extensive political career prior. And, if we look at most American politicians, they tend to have privileged backgrounds. Familial wealth, access to higher education, etc. As for Graham himself, his backstory is giving… George W. Bush. I mean:

Both assumed the presidency during a slew of domestic and foreign challenges.

Both were in the presidency when 9/11 happened (yes, that is canon to the RE verse).

Then, on top of that, Graham was actively covering up the Raccoon City incident and working WITH the Umbrella Corporation during the Raccoon Trials (striking deals with Wesker for information). And I'm sure similar happened during the Bush presidency, but I'm not versed in that too much… outside the WoT.

But anyway, back to Ashley.

Her father is a career politician. Her mother is… dead, and he never remarried, so I don't imagine she's had a lot of emotional support entering her teen years. And coming from a background like hers, it's not unlikely that when she has opened up about how she feels, she's met with adversity. The whole "You have wealth/everything, you literally have nothing to complain about" argument. Which I get, as someone who's like… very much barely making end's meet. And as a result of that, I'm sure she's developed this mindset where she feels guilty for having these "weaknesses" (which I use the term loosely, because wanting meaningful emotional connections is not a weakness).

Then, on top of that… Kind of examining the fanbase's reactions to her appearance (which is meta and outside of universe, but still), and the fact it was the early 2000s, it's probably also not a stretch to assume that Ashley had to mature quickly as a conventionally attractive person in a position of status. Any attempts at establishing a meaningful emotional connection, outside of being met with adversity, were most likely met with manipulation. An expectation that she had to give herself (re: her body) to men to make up for her sensitivity. She was mature because she had "appeal" to give. And that's just a reality for so many women, back then and to this day. We see that mentality both in RE4 and RE4RE, because Ashley's like… go-to in response to Leon's efforts to help her is to flirt. To play it up a bit and make moves that she thinks he would like (to which he leans into a bit, but ultimately sets that boundary with her that he doesn't want or expect that from her).

So with that in mind… I want to shift to the actual kickstarting event of this all: The kidnapping.

We know from both RE4 and RE4RE that Jack Krauser was the one to kidnap Ashley, and that they (the government) considered the event an inside job.

The guys in intelligence say they have reliable information that Ashley's been sighted somewhere in Europe. But until we find out who the insider is, I don't know what to believe. It could be a ploy. We have very few leads as to the whereabouts of Ashley. But members of the Secret Service and anyone related to Ashley are being questioned by an investigative team. Even active agents are being investigated for any information. It's just a matter [of time] before the kidnapper is exposed.

She's not alone per se, because she does have bodyguards, but are they visible? Or are they tailing? How much attention does someone like Ashley have on her during times like this? Either way, it's scary. We all know what happens to women just trying to exist in public spaces (especially if they're perceived as being alone)… So she sees Krauser, and probably feels a wave of relief! He's a familiar face. He wouldn't hurt her, right? Wrong. He would. He probably made a casual approach to avoid raising suspicion, then grabbed her.

What is the first thing you think went through Ash's mind? Probably the all too common scenario. 'Oh God, I'm about to be sexually assaulted'.

Except she isn't. And for that, there's probably a bit of relief before a nauseating pit of panic sets in. If that's not what he wants, then what the fuck is going on? There's suddenly more men around her. She's being shoved into a vehicle. She doesn't know where they're going. Her team was (probably) killed. And then that realization hits that she can't call for help, and nobody is coming for her. Nobody saw it.

Then, everything with Los Illuminados happens. That shit is TRAUMATIC. She has no idea where she is or who she's with. She has no idea what they want with her, besides talks of infecting her with… God knows what. She's constantly disrespected and insulted, and she has her autonomy violated (again, barring sexual assault, it's more so regarding being moved around like some sort of trophy).

That's why she has that initial reaction that she does to Leon. Sure, he MIGHT be a familiar face to some extent, but she's learned quick that she cannot trust that. If she's seen him, she still doesn't know his intentions. And then, when she does learn them, she feels like she has to overcompensate for her own inabilities (re: the previous points about emotional neglect, sensitivity, and flirtations).

Ashley is just… such a fascinating character. She deserves the world after everything.

Lazowski provided medical care for his Jewish neighbors in Rozwadow.  The area had devised a system where if a Jewish resident needed medical assistance they would hang a rag on Lazowski's fence and then Lazowski would make a house-call to their residence under the cover of darkness.  Lazowski's medical oath required him to help people in need and his moral fiber compelled him to not think of race or religion when providing medical assistance.  In order to avoid having his Jewish neighbors and friends shipped off to Nazi concentration camps, with the assistance of fellow Polish medical professional Stanislav Matulewicz Lazowski began experimenting with bacteria injections.  The pair discovered that if you inject someone with a vaccine containing dead Epidemic Typhus, they will in fact test positive for the disease.  Although the patient would test positive, there would be no adverse effects of the illness and if questioned the patient could in theory fake the symptoms.  Because the Nazis knew that typhus was deadly they would not bother deporting anyone to a concentration camp who tested positive.  After injecting many Jews and non-Jews in the ghetto of Rozwadow and the surrounding area, the German government quickly became alarmed and ordered a quarantine of the area.

The Nazi army was very health-conscious and did not deport any more people from that quarantine zone, fearing a widespread infection.  This quarantine and the injections saved over 8,000 people from deportation to the Nazi death camps, yet Eugene Lazowski remained humble about his role in the war until his death.

Łazowski was well aware of the risks he was taking by creating a fake typhus epidemic.  He always carried a cyanide pill with him in the event he was captured.  In late 1943, the Gestapo became suspicious.  The Gestapo knew that Łazowski had been treating members of the resistance but had decided to keep him alive in order to contain the typhus “epidemic.”  When Łazowski learned about what the Gestapo knew about him, he escaped Rozwadów with his family.

After the war, Łazowski continued to live in Poland, which came under communist rule in 1948. Fearing retaliation from former collaborators, he never spoke of what he had done in Rozwadów as long as he remained in Poland.  In 1960, with the help of a Rockefeller Foundation Scholarship, Łazowski emigrated to the United States. In 1976 he became a professor of pediatrics at the University of Illinois Medical Center. He published over a hundred research papers in Polish and English.

In 1998, Łazowski contacted 17-year-old film major Ryan Bank about making a documentary (“A Private War”) about Łazowski ’s story.  The project included a 16-day trip to Poland—Łazowski ’s first trip back to Poland in more than 50 years—that included a joyful reunion with villagers from Rozwadów.  Bank said of Łazowski: "He said he took an oath as a doctor to help people, and the oath didn't differentiate among people.  There was no option for him, there was no thought process about ‘Should I or shouldn't I.’”

Dr. Łazowski ’s parents were also Holocaust-era rescuers.  His father, Kazimierz Łazowski, and mother, Zofia Łazowska, hid Jewish families in their home in Warsaw.
