Happy days! The Louis promo machine is firing up its engines to, probably, run us over and kill us while we beg for more. I mean we'd all love to get the album asap but maybe it's a good thing they're easing us back in, better survival odds.

Anyway: Louis manager Matt Vines finally followed the LTHQ account and, unsurprisingly, just a little while later a happy smiley Louis pic was posted! It shows him in the Mastermind skull hoodie and, smartly, was tagged #LT2019 which immediately trended worldwide all day, many hours of that in the #1 spot. Well done management, more please! And if that wasn't enough, we got a video of Lou! He responded to a campaign for him to acknowledge a fan with cancer with a very lovely and very personalized video and ended it with a kiss. Listen: have you noticed how every video we get is framed tighter than the last eliminating even a hint of background to analyze? Video of Harry also popped up today; a fan ran into him and recorded a message for her sister, probably in Tokyo on Jan 9. He was wearing the beloved space sweater! Some older pics of Harry also showed up yesterday, from Ruby Winston's birthday party in L.A. The pics were maybe leaked from someone's cloud so many chose not to share them, but that didn't stop a heated debate from breaking out on the subject of his cardigan and baggy trousers look. I distinctly remember y'all begging for pics of Harry at a children's birthday party and this is what we focus on? SMH, truly.

Niall went to see Maggie Rogers in concert the other day and gushed about her all over, and we got a pic of a fan with him at the show today, also gushing. Much enthusiasm all around!

Meanwhile over on the inZayn account, which is pushing for iheartradio awards votes, a fan promised they would run around their neighborhood screaming Entertainer and post the video if Zayn liked their comment. Well, time to make good! If it was indeed Zayn that liked the comment and not management I feel very confident that he did it 100% to laugh at them so DO IT FOR HIM

So I’m submitting this to do what you want or chalk it up to “speculation” screen grabs showing ZAYNS official website (inzayn.com) with zero copies of Icarus Falls in the “shop” music section. Listing Zayn’s new album all in pre-order status (and no title even identifying Icarus Falls) in the music section and in the Videos section…“Satisfaction ” isn’t posted… all this coupled with RCA basicslly not even acknowledging Zayns existence means something…what IDK for sure but it seems like Z is very much in transition.

shawn mendes has “shawn acess”, camila cabello has “camila acess”, taylor has “taylor national”, zayn has “inzayn” or something like that. a LOT of artists has those promo accounts but with other names on it

just putting these two together.. I knew taylornation only by name and haven’t looked at any of these accounts before today, but a quick scroll tells me that at least taylor (who has 90M followers 🤯) promotes things on her main by retweeting taylornation, rolling stone and lots of other promo related things. the point of taylornation seems to be to engage fans who are not just casual with like voting and streaming. but that’s not what lthq is. announcing that you’re headlining a festival is not side account news! and when the artist’s main account doesn’t even share the posts from the side acc. ? that’s where anyone with even basics knowledge of marketing is like.. smh. tickets go one sale tomorrow and currently it’s safe to assume only about 1M out of louis’ 38M followers know about it… that’s the disconnect.

Matt Vines followed LTHQ account on Instagram! (I know this is an unpopular opinion with some people, but I think that LTHQ can be good and useful as long as it's used as supplementary material and not a main source of promo content, if that makes sense. Kind of like how HSHQ or inZayn is used)

Tbh I think his team doesn't have a lot of experience in managing a big artist like Zayn. Like yes, they're good in finding him deals in fashion, TV and cinema and they respect his boundaries re promo but they've been messy lately. Why wouldn't they inform fans themselves about the concerts being canceled? Why would you plan them in the first place if you weren't sure? You have an official UA, use it! And it really sucks because it makes Zayn look bad or that he doesn't care.

yeah, i mean i guess i shouldn’t be surprised bc the two other big acts that sarah manages are iggy and rita and well… case closed. she’s done a great job of finding ways to keep them relevant considering that no one is checking for their music but music is obviously zayn’s main priority so his team need to regroup and do better. idk if it’s just harder bc he has a group of expectant fans following him 1d, but i really don’t think it’s that hard to figure out what zayn needs to do to thrive musically while giving the fandom random shit to entertain them while he’s ghost.

Do you know when the last print/radio interview with Zayn occurred? 2018. None in 2019 At all and he's released 4 collabs singles in 2019. Promo of his own without labeling/team backing(his own, Inzayn hasnt posted anything in 6+ mos.) so if you think that's comprable to a team including HSHQ behind him it isnt. The predicted Louis ski holiday picture that was foreshadowed by the Geneva airport photos has manifested on Eleanor's Instagram, which they got all warmed up and ready to go for this with her random post last week, as is often the case. Anyway it's a close cropped picture of her and Louis (who is not tagged) in ski gear, and let's hope it's really working for the general public cause wow a lot of the fandom is PISSED OFF, citing this business as usual approach at a time when they were hoping instead for changes and music. People are mad at management, mad at Sony, mad at fans who aren't mad, and some are even mad at Louis. On the other side you have fans who don't particularly care about the photo, on the grounds that it's just business as usual and irrelevant to the main point of interest- music release.

If you, like many, find seeing them together distressing, just take comfort in how laughably fake it all is. Like, you can clearly see in the reflection in their glasses that she's holding a phone out in front of her, but the screen is dark which maaaaybe she's taking the picture blind from the back of her phone or something (can you use the side keys for camera shutter on the newer iPhones?) but like. Probably not. And, did you know that on this exact date in 2014 they posted almost the exact same picture? Anyway you can believe he went skiing with Eleanor or you can believe he secretly spent Freddie's birthday with him, but you can't have both! A true conundrum, I'll go with neither.

MOVING ON, we got an unseen picture of Louis with Harrysson, a child who you may remember as having been photographed with Louis and a truly massive bowl of fishsticks backstage at the X Factor as his MakeAWish wish. His mother is trying to reach Louis because Harrysson has been asking for him; she tweeted the picture with a plea for help reaching Louis.

We got another unseen of Harry at that children's birthday party and learned that he personally handed out gifts to all the kids present which is inspiring way less squeeing than I would have expected, does the cardigan really bother y'all that much? Well that's fine, we got Niall squeeing plenty, about golf, giving us a level of enthusiasm and emoji use more often seen by young women @ boybands, which was charming enough to bypass even my usual golf related narcolepsy.

Liam posted from a Davido concert- honestly I will never get over how far away from the stage VIP boxes always are! It just doesn't seem that great to me but I wouldn't know I guess. Icarus Falls passed 400 million streams on spotify and inzayn continued to lobby heavily for votes for the iheartradio award.

Matt Colon, unfortunately named manager of Steve Aoki, liked a tweet suggesting that he would be a better manager for Louis than L's actual team. He was an active promoter of both Steve and Louis as individuals during and after Just Hold On promo and retains much fandom goodwill, but is this just a grass is greener situation? Would he be able to do better with whatever the current situation is? If I, an updater, could make a wish for Louis' management it would be good promo by someone who wasn't named fucking Matt for a change! Please, it's confusing :(

And in what would be some real news if I thought it was, in fact, real news, someone got Harry's face tattooed ON THEIR FACE! Happily, this terrible idea appears to be merely a publicity grab by an aspiring musician. She should have put it on her pretty neck anyway! Think it through next time, a real harrie would have gone for the cheap joke. In the unlikely event that this is an actual thing that happened YIKES and also wow that isn't even a good tattoo DOUBLE YIKES
