im gonna use ur q to give a sum-up of the stupidly lucky night & what happened to me and my partner because honestly so incredible and so baffling and we both had terrible horoscopes that day so just wow. a lot happened lmao so i was getting picked up and my friend had to pick someone else up and my friend’s car ac didn’t work in the atl traffic so it was a HOT drive and we ended up switching to the friend’s car just to make it in one piece so we were literally getting there at like 6:30? my partner was already there and in line and they kept telling me i’m moving up hurryyyy come quick so we were rushing down the line and once i found them they were LITERALLY a couple people before the metal detectors. they had ritz crackers for me cuz i had only eaten grapes in the car lmao so it was me in my fairy wings squeezing past the barricades and stuffing three crackers in my mouth before i had to throw them away because we were Right There it was very chaotic. security checked my purse and asked what was in my mini bag and when i said makeup he was like “you weren’t kidding” LMAO i just really like to be over-packed and over-prepared. anyways we tried buying drinks and they told us they couldn’t sell to us without a wristband so this led to an extended run-around of miscommunications with multiple staff members thinking we were trying to spend $80 to upgrade to vip upstairs and then nobody could find the girl with the wristbands and it was basically up until the very last moment that we got through with that thank god. we actually did have regular seats upstairs so we were rushing to those and it was so crowded and so close to starting i started getting rlly panicky cuz i couldn’t tell where our seats were but it seemed like someone else was in them?? but i was rlly embarrassed to squeeze through the whole section and be wrong cuz it was cramped so we went to ask a staff member and by the time we got back the chairs had mysteriously cleared so 🤭
ANYWAYS OMG IM SO SORRY ITS SO LONG ALREADY but we were at the very edge of the section so those long chains of hanging speakers were literally in our faces and i was a little disappointed cuz you could only see a few girls in the front line of choreo at most but we were still really close and i was excited to be there so it was all good. they did their intro and stuff we freaked and then star started and we FREAKED top ten english kpop releases on my life. one of my absolute faves so we were totally engrossed and then this security member like popped his head over the edge of the section wall as we were screaming and was like “are you two together” and i said yes and all he said was “come with me” nothing else so i was SCARED i started getting rlly anxious that they were gonna say we kicked someone else out of their seats or we were getting escorted out or they were gonna be like actually you guys aren’t 21 (we are) and drinking illegally so you’re done idk i was just scared cuz it was so soon to when the show started i thought something was wrong. we had to literally like climb down the rows and we were led around the entire section and through the whole middle section to go to the other side and this same guy who is explaining nothing to us was just like put your wrist out and he started putting these fabric wristbands on us and then he leaves?? so we’re left standing at the corner of this section so i turn to another staff member and im like what are these for? and as he’s about to answer someone motions to him and he points down the section and the guy is at the other end calling us over MIND YOU THEYRE PERFORMING STAR THIS WHOLE TIME I CANT EVEN PAY ATTENTION we’re like crouch running to not block anyone i was literally singing along while running trying to be in the moment and then he’s at a table????? like the actual closest table to the stage next to the railing and he has us sit down and he says something to me i actually have no idea what he said but i heard “for now” so??? are we temporarily here?? are they finding us new seats?? why did we move?? but now the entire view is different like y’all we were opposite our original seats but you could see EVERYTHING i didn’t even know there was screen behind them until then. the girls were sooooo close oh my god. so we were at this table for a while eventually another staff member even showed us the qr code menu on the table like you guys can order stuff you know and they’ll bring it to you!! we were like ok thank you!! ?? so does that mean we’re staying here?? spoiler alert we DID stay there the entire show i don’t know what FOR NOW was about but the only thing that changed was around halfway through they had another girl sit on the opposite side of us and if anyone was at the atl show she was literally the girl screeching when it was silent for olivia to marry her she was fr rude but she was younger so whatever ig. but that was our view for the rest of the show we got a ton of waves yves looked over a bunch we got some hearts my partner was fucking losing their mind lmao it was so so fun. i just rlly felt devastated for haseul her seat was immediately below us and she kept standing up from her chair to do little bits of choreo during the songs you could tell she wished she didn’t have to sit down :((( and my melody it was her on the stage along in her sling like how sad omg…… but she rlly did her best they made the most of an awful situation for them and i rlly appreciate it they were awesome soooo in love

Great. My best friend and concert partner got called into work, so now I get to do this alone. What could possibly go wrong?
I finished getting ready and made my way to the venue. Standing in line by myself was a little awkward, but I made a few mutuals through out the hours. Once I got to security, I was given my legal wristband made my way to concessions. I got a quick beer to cool myself down and walked over to the main stage. Dom’s set wasn’t for another hour, but with GA tickets it’s first come, first serve.
The hour went by quickly and the man himself made his way to the stage. He played a couple songs before addressing the crowd.
At first, Dom didn’t even notice me, but it was no secret he had a connection with someone in the crowd. When his eyes finally locked on mine, he did a quick double take before a wide smile spread across his face. He kept his eyes on mine for longer than I thought. As the song continued, I could tell he was suddenly nervous. Did I make Dominic Fike nervous? To test it, I decided to bite my lip every time his eyes flickered over to me. It worked.
He tried not to show it, he but was about to go nuts. Song after song, he saw this woman dancing along to each one. Intently watched her pretty lips singing his lyrics. She was adorable, yet fucking sexy at the same time. Dominic couldn’t think of another word to describe it, such a beautiful mixture of both. The orange setting sun making her gleaming eyes so much more prominent as she watched him, her eyelashes fluttering against her cheeks. At the end of ‘Phone Numbers’, Dom came down to the sub-stage and knelt down. Everyone around me clamored for him, desperate for just the slightest touch.

Maybe get a couple pictures?” Alright, if my heart hadn’t stopped before, it undoubtedly did now. I quickly nodded my head before he pointed for me to leave GA to the right. I shimmied past everyone and met him on the side. We walked for about 2 minutes before hitting the side curtain. We stopped in front and he turned to me,
“Here’s your pass. Do NOT lose it because this is how you get in and out and around. My name is Kevin and I’m in charge of the backstage area, so if you need anything just tell someone to radio Kevin and I’ll come, okay?”
“Okay!”
“Alright, go ahead and follow that group until you reach green room A. That’s where the food and drinks are and everyone’s hanging out. Have fun and be sure to tag the venue! It would really help!”
“Thanks so much!” I called after him as he jogged away while on his radio. I walked behind the group he mentioned and entered the green room. My senses were immediately filled with weed and different kinds of foods. As I looked around, I started to get nervous as I became increasingly aware that I was technically by myself. I glanced around once more before I landed on someone standing alone in the corner. I walked over started a conversation,
“Hey! So sorry to bother you, but do you know when the bartender will be back?” She looked up from her phone and said she was wondering the same thing. She pulled out a joint and offered me some. He jumped down from the chair and made his way through the people. When he finally got to me, he was wearing a half smile. He held out his hand and introduced himself. I told him my name and he asked what I was sipping on. We ordered a couple more rounds before finding a spot in the corner to talk. More and more people started coming in and it got louder and louder.
“I have another room booked out. Do you wanna hang out there? We could hear each other better.” I gave him a nod before hopping off the table stool and following him out. We took a short walk down the hall and entered the other green room. I walked in first and turned to face him when he shut the door. He kept his back against it and we looked at each other for a second. He started to make his way over to me and placed his hands on my hips. His thumbs rubbed small circles as he pressed his forehead to mine and closed his eyes.
“I really hope this is okay with you because I can’t get you off my goddamn mind.” My hand found the back of his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.

THE ROADBURN DIARIES

Preface
When Billy asked me to review Roadburn Festival 2019 for Doomed & Stoned, I was a bit hesitant. Live reviews have never been my specialty and I prefer to enjoy shows instead of being critical. However, when he suggested a diary-style review, I got the idea to do just that; write a diary.
I went all out and paid a whopping two Euros and some change to buy a notebook. After four days of Roadburn, it will probably be as wrecked as I expect to be, but hopefully it will still be readable. [In hindsight it was money well spent, as the notebook survived Roadburn without too much damage.] Whether its pages will be literary gold or the drunken ravings of a madman, only time will tell. The truth will probably be somewhere in the middle. [The fact that I had not been feeling well all week and decided to drive to Tilburg by car each day probably helped me not fucking this up, though.]
Day 1
14:30 -- Ticket booth
The sun is out, Crypt Trip's Haze County was blasting through my car speakers on the way here and the queue to get my wristband went smooth. That's about as good a start as it can get. Sadly, my first dilemma of the day is already coming up: See Myrkur perform her Folkesange set or Bismuth. For now I'll just sit and wait in the sun for my friends T and S to arrive.

16:30 -- Studio Tilburg
We compromised. We started Roadburn with Bismuth engulfing us in the epic 'The Slow Dying Of The Great Barrier Reef' in the Hall of Fame. Sadly the band had some technical issues which fucked up the dynamics in the beginning, but otherwise it was an intense experience.
before the end of the Bismuth set, we moved on to the main stage. On the way there, we ran into some friends who decided to join us to see Myrkur. The Scandinavian folk songs were moving and well performed, but not what we needed, so we set our sights for Vile Creature, who were preparing to destroy the Patronaat.

Arriving outside, we noticed that we weren't the only ones. The queue to the Patronaat was leading pretty much up to the Cul de Sac. Since the weather was still nice, we decided to go for a beer in the sun instead.
19:05 -- Veemarktstraat
Molasses was something I had been looking forward to, since it was for a large part a The Devil's Blood reunion. Their set was in general an honest and loving tribute to TDB leader Selim Lemouchi. At some points though, the band seemed possessed by Selim himself. I desperately hope they will release this as a live record. [Later, at the merch I discovered that the band had already recorded an EP. That satisfies me for now, but I still need a live record!]

After that intense show, it was time to get some food. I decided to go for some Vietnamese street food. A good choice, but I should have been more careful with the sambal. I love that stuff, but a full bite at once was a bit much.
19:30 -- Green Room balcony
Luckily, I was just in time to hear the last, hauntingly beautiful song of Lingua Ignota. I had a hard time getting in and when I managed to get in, I couldn't get closer than the back of the balcony. Only when the show was over, I could see that she sat behind her keyboard in the middle of the Green Room. An eccentric choice that befits the woman.

21:20 -- Ladybird Skatepark
Emma Ruth Rundle was more Doomed & Stoned appropriate than I expected. Last time she did a solo show, but this time she brought her full band. Her songs were sometimes dark and doomy, sometimes rocking, but always unique.

But the best kept secret of today are certainly the heavy psych astronauts of Mythic Sunship. Even though it's not crowded, they know how to throw a party on a skatepark. [Mythic Sunship was the first band to be programmed on the Skatepark, but during the weekend more bands were scheduled to perform on this special location. More on that later.]
22:45 -- Koepelhal
I'm not sure why a band like Midnight is performing at Roadburn, since it's pretty much the odd one out this year, but I'm not complaining. I really enjoyed their filthy, sexually laden mix of Venom and Motörhead sleaze. And judging from the large crowd that gathered in the Koepelhal, I wasn't the only one.
00:40 -- Main Stage
Post rock is a hit or miss for me, but the combination of guitars and classical instruments often brings a smile to my face. The latter convinced me to watch MONO perform their Hymn to the Immortal Wind record, supported by the Jo Quail Quartet. I'm happy I did this, since the show was pure aural bliss. Rarely have I heard such a natural mix of metallic guitars and classical instruments. Although it certainly wasn't boring, the floating melodies did make me a bit sleepy.
2:xx -- Eindhoven
I guess I went full circle today. I started with Crypt Trip and ended with them as well. After MONO, these Texan rockers were exactly what I needed. Their country infused hard rock really got my energy levels back to par. Then again, anyone who can stand still during a Crypt Trip show, must be dead. It was also very nice to see my Doomed & Stoned colleague Calvin again. Roadburn is off to a good start.
Day 2
15:25 -- 013
T, S and I started our second day at Roadburn queuing up for Gold. I lost sight of the Dutch band after being disappointed by their second record, when they traded in their occult rock for a more post rock sound. Today, however, I was not disappointed at all. Their pounding post black/punk/rock really grabbed me by the balls. Charismatic frontwoman Milena Eva and her accomplices are back on my radar.
I'm currently enjoying one of the three sets of Seven That Spells. Between all the avant garde stuff, it's nice to see some proper heavy psych/stoner rock. Very well executed!

17:00 -- Ladybird Skatepark
Between all the good stuff, Triptykon was my most anticipated concert of the festival. As I said, I'm a sucker for metal mixed with classical music, so I wouldn't want to miss the Swiss band performing with the renowned Metropole Orkest, the world's leading pop orchestra. Today they are playing something heavier, namely the requiem penned by Tom G. Warrior. The first and third parts date back to the Celtic Frost days, namely Into The Pandemonium (1987) and Monotheist (2006). The piece never had a middle section, until now.

The show wasn't perfect. There were some flaws here and there and at certain moments it felt like the orchestra was overtaking the band. Altogether it was an impressive performance, but somewhere I feel like there could have been more. Still a highlight, though.
I'm currently enjoying some surprise sludgy goodness of Vile Creature, while the queue for the Hall of Fame is reaching new lengths while A.A.Williams is performing there as part of the Holy Roar x Roadburn showcase.
19:55 -- Studio Tilburg
After getting my eardrums destroyed by Vile Creature, it was time for a beer with friends. Consequently, that meant I missed Conjurer, but I did manage to see the last half hour of Anna Von Hausswolff on the main stage. On record I find her music very calming, but live the tiny lady and her band deliver a massive tidal wave of sound. 'The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra' was even more impressive than on record.
22:20 - Koepelhal
After enjoying watching Calvin struggle with a massive burger from the Studio café and between the neck snapping sets of Svalbard and Pijn (both part of the Holy Roar showcase), I conquered my first queue at the Koepelhal. This was for the collaboration between artist in residence Thou and Emma Ruth Rundle. It was well worth the effort. This noisy matrimony sounded exactly as you'd expect from the two factors.

3:xx -- Eindhoven
After Pijn's set, it was straight off to the Patronaat to grab a good spot for another show I highly anticipated. That turned out to be a good decision, since I heard afterwards that the queue for Messa turned out to be huge.
My love for these Italians stems from their ability to make old school doom sound fresh again. The band manages this through the incorporations of jazz elements, as well as sporadic black metal outbursts. Today, the band brought along a saxophone player, which truly added an extra dimension to their music.
Day 3
17:20 -- 013
Today we started off with Have A Nice Life. The new wave was enjoyable, but we had other priorities, for Wolvennest was about to perform their latest effort, Void, in its entirety. The Belgian band went all out for this show, bringing several guest musicians, as well as brand new visuals. Musically, Wolvennest definitely made a step up from their debut, WLVNNST. Their black metal with psychedelic and doom influences pleased the many people who came to witness this ritual. The only negative comment one could have, is that the altar looked very small on the large main stage.
Henrik Palm is no stranger to most Roadburners. The Swede used to be a member of In Solitude and Ghost. You can clearly hear this in his solo work, but his eclectic rockers always feel unique. I remain with only one question. Why the early Judas Priest videos?
19:20 -- Ladybird Skatepark
I'm not much of a fan of most of the bands from the Exile on Mainstream roster, but Treedeon I had to see. These Germans make for some noisy, primitive doom, which is right up my alley. There are some clear Conan vibes here, but the double vocals make it just a tad more brutal.
23:15 -- Koepelhal
I always enjoy good times with good people, so I was happy to join a small Doomed & Stoned meetup with Calvin and Sally [whose photos add some color to this article]. Contrary to my instincts, I left my friends behind to make it in time for what is probably the highlight of this year’s Roadburn. Coming near the 013 was like walking into a coffee shop (the Dutch kind), with the smell of weed greeting you from far away. Not surprising, since it wouldn't be long before the almighty Sleep would perform their classic record Holy Mountain in one go. When I arrived, some 20 odd minutes before the show, the hall was already crowded, with people queuing up, not more than five minutes later.
It was quite the magical experience to hear one of my all-time favorite records being performed live. The first notes of 'Dragonaut' already gave me goosebumps and headbanging became a priority for nearly two hours. Sleep performing 'The Clarity' and a part of 'Dopesmoker' surely was an extra treat.

4:xx -- Eindhoven
Doolhof was a typical case of the right band at wrong time. The drone outfit, with Aaron Turner of Old Man Gloom and Sumac fame in its ranks, sounded highly intense and mesmerizing, but after Sleep, I was looking for something more energetic.
Luckily, I received a push message after the Sleep show, saying that Thou would perform a special set at the Skatepark. There had been rumours that the band would perform a set of Misfits covers somewhere during the weekend and this was it. A couple hundred people had shown up and the band was going through classics like 'Die, Die My Darling' and 'Hybrid Moments' like the audience was going through beers.
This set was absolute mayhem with the crowd moving as one mass and there was pretty much constant crowd surfing. The band was joined by Emma Ruth Rundle on a couple of songs, and for their final song, 'Last Caress', they were joined by Converge/Old Man Gloom's Nate Newton and Gilead Media chief Adam Bartlett. The former even went stage diving. If anyone was doubting why Thou is the artist in residence this year, they get it now.
Recharged by the insane show I had just witnessed, it was time for some after-partying in the basement of the 013 until the lights came on.
Day 4
Up until a few years ago the Roadburn Sunday was more of an after party, or Afterburner as it was called, but in recent years it changed into a full day. This year, all stages but the Koepelhal have bands playing, but thankfully my schedule is far less busy than the previous days.
17:30 - Main Stage
The intensity of three days of Roadburn appears to have had an effect not only on me, but on most of the visitors. That's why T and I decided to take it easy. This meant we missed Lucy in Blue because we arrived in Tilburg at 3pm. Since for the first time this weekend, temperatures reached comfortable levels, we decided to enjoy the sun a little before diving into another day of musical adventure.
my first band of the day was Supersonic Blues, a last minute addition to the program. The young band from The Hague had the honor to play the now infamous Ladybird Skatepark. Their heavy blues rock wasn't that special, but it surely was a welcome energizer for the rest of the day.
The first highlight of the day was TankZilla, a newcomer from my hometown Eindhoven, who got to warm up the Hall of Fame. Even though this was their second gig ever, the two members are anything but new to the scene. Singer/guitar player Peter van Elderen has enjoyed success for over twenty years with Peter Pan Speedrock, but also has more stoner credits with bands like Repomen and Four Headed Dog and drummer Marcin Hurkmans is known for his work with rockers Wolfskop. Although there's just two guys on stage, they manage to produce some fat-sounding stoner rock with the signature riffs and lyrics of van Elderen. Today saw the release of their first 7", but this show leaves me hungry for more!
20:45 -- 013 Lobby
With an hour to kill, I decided to walk to the 013 to check out a few songs from today's Thou set. Even though it was their fourth set this weekend, the main stage was packed with people wanting to see the artist in residence one more time. And rightfully so. Even after four days of playing, the last time being only 16 hours before, the band played another energetic set of nasty doom.

This made it somewhat difficult for me to leave early, but I had been looking forward to my second chance of seeing Bismuth ever since it was announced this morning. The Skatepark has become my favorite venue and the acoustics are perfect for the intensity of "The Slow Dying of the Great Barrier Reef". This time not troubled by technical difficulties, the UK duo's perfect performance of 'The Slow Dying of the Great Barrier Reef' is one of my absolute highlights of the festival.
Fuel is important on days like these, so I decided to skip the beginning of Old Man Gloom to grab a delicious pancake filled with spinach and goats cheese, walnuts and honey. By the time I reach the crowded main stage, the OMG set is almost over, but judging from the enthusiastic crowd, the New Mexico sludge machine managed to deliver.

Roadburn is over, but not before we were treated to another two-hour set of Sleep. This time the sonic titans performed their most recent effort, The Sciences, in its entirety, with the addition of "Leagues Beneath", "Dragonaut" and another section of "Dopesmoker". Sadly, the band was troubled by technical difficulties, to the great annoyance of Matt Pike, who even had to switch amps mid-set. This prevented the show from being the legendary event it could have been.

After Sleep, the time had come to slowly start Brexiting (saying you are leaving, but staying as long as you can).Saying goodbye to friends, both old and new, is always difficult, but it was fun to hear all the great stories everyone lived this weekend and see the joy in everyone's tired eyes. And just like Great Britain, we stayed until we were kicked out, leaving Tilburg behind with many new memories.

alright folks. settle in. this is the story of how i met taylor swift after waiting 10 years. whew.
i don’t honestly know how to start this bc i never thought i’d make this text post.
so it all started on tuesday night. i was reading and scrolling my phone as one does, and then i get a text from hailee aka @ootwoodsyet aka my twin.
taylornation sent her a dm and both of us FREAKED OUT. we were cautiously optimistic but i think both of us were like OKAY THIS IS IT! THIS IS WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! EVERYONE STAY CALM IT’S ACTUALLY HAPPENING! so anyway, obviously hailee is the best person in the universe and replied putting my name in as her plus one and then we just texted each other non-stop for like two hours straight. tn replied to her email and asked for our social media handles, my full name, and our birthdays. we could hardly sleep that night, so when we woke up early the next morning we texted each other still freaking out. finally TN emailed back and was like OKAY YOU TWO ARE ON THE GUEST LIST! HAILEE LITERALLY FACETIMED ME FROM HER CAR AND WE BOTH LOST IT. at that point we immediately started making plans bc the next day thursday was the event in chicago. we had no idea when or where it was happening, but we knew we were going to be there. so we started prepping. i had to cancel on a client photoshoot (oops...but i’m not sorry) and uh hailee may or may not have had food poisoning that morning......so i went to platos closet and bought a new dress (velvet, blue, and PERFECT) and then i packed up a bag bc i was gonna go straight from my parents’ house to louisville on saturday for the rep show (wtf). neither of us slept very well wednesday night, and then AND THEN IT WAS TIME FOR THE WEIRDEST BEST DAY OF LIVES.
thursday june 28, 2018 --
i woke up at 7:15 and drove like 8 hours north from nashville to chicago. there was actually a decent amount of traffic that day but at one point i had to take a detour because there was a crash on i65. so on this random detour in southern indiana, a little ways outside of louisville, i was blasting better than revenge and i look to my left and I SAW TAYLORS FACE ON A TRUCK AND I SCREAMED BECAUSE THE REP TOUR BUSES WERE JUST SITTING IN THIS RANDOM LOT
I THOUGHT IT HAD TO BE A SIGN AND UH I GUESS I WAS RIGHT???? i also passed a place called “swifty farms” (what) and of course i drove through taylorsville so um needless to say....it was all meant to be
i eventually made it to chicago at 5:30pm and i picked up hailee from the train station. we flipped bc we literally did this exact same thing less than a month about for the 2nd chicago show and HERE WE WERE AGAIN FOR THE SAME WOMAN soooo we made our way to the first location that TN said to meet at by 7pm. we pulled up at like 6:15 and the parking lot was full but they already had a line of people. after finding a nearby garage to park in, we literally RAN across the way to get in line (it was like 10 minutes and we were so sweaty wow) and then we were in line and we had to go through two different security sections - each one asked for our names and ids. then at the second checkpoint they gave us wristbands based on our ages (i’m over 21) and eventually we went off to give them our phones and bags and stuff. then we were directed onto a greyhound bus and when we got on we legitimately became the most obnoxious people i’ve ever known in my entire life.
when we got on they were playing reputation (duh) and RFI was on so we literally listened through the album one whole time and it was WILD. we didn’t have our phones so we were just freaking out about twitter. we spent the whole time singing along and being totally in awe. the whole bus did 123 LETS GO BITCH during delicate, and thennn during getaway car when she goes SAID GOODBYE IN A GETAWAY CAR the bus MOVED AND WE LEFT TO GO TO THE SECONDARY LOCATION (john mulaney???)
so we drove until new years day came on and then we pulled into this random alley. before we could get up, this CAMERA crew showed up and went to the back of the bus to film us. they told us to be excited so we WERE?? and then we got off and went inside this random venue. hailee and i gripped each other’s hands so hard and then we went down this tunnel with mirrors & screens & then i almost broke down into tears bc it was all so overwhelming. they had so many professional photographers asking to take our photos and then the taylor people were handing out raffle tickets telling us to do stuff. it was like this weird underground area that had these gorgeous industrial bathrooms (with so many toiletries like oil sheets & dry shampoo & tampons & gum & hair ties) and there were arcade games and an led dance floor that lit up with hearts where you stood and there was a skee ball thing where we STOOD ON IT AND GOT OUR PHOTO TAKEN and they had claw machines with merch inside and these HUGE photobooth backdrops (BIG REPUTATION + taylors face + a huge snake) and basically you had to do stuff to get tickets and then you could use the tickets to get free merch! we didnt catch on quick enough though so we didn’t get anything more exciting than a water bottle & a tote (which were still so cool)
so anyway, we did some stuff, got a BIG REPUTATION non-alcoholic drink that was like soda water + blackberry syrup + a lime and it was just okay haha and as we went over to try and get our free merch we heard a THATS TAYLOR SWIFT scream from across the room and basically RAN to see what was happening. and that’s when this wall opened up and uh WE WALKED INTO A CONCERT VENUE AND LOST ALL CHILL
IT WAS SUCH A SMALL VENUE HAILEE AND I WERE IN THE BACK ROW BUT LITERALLY WE SPENT 10 MINUTES HYPERVENTILATING AND SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER!!! there were cameras everywhere, and it was so industrial but there was PIANO + THE SPARKLY GUITAR + THE KOI GUITAR?????? AND HER BLACK GUITAR WITH THE STARS ON THE FRETS!! so we hung out for a while in taylor limbo and felt like we were gonna combust and then AND THEN THE NIGHT KICKED INTO HIGH GEAR AND I SWEAR HAILEE AND I BOTH JUST BLACKED OUT
THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND TAYLOR JUST FREAKING WALKED OUT ON STAGE AND I ALMOST BURST INTO TEARS SHE WASN’T REAL BUT SHE WAS RIGHT THERE AND I WANTED TO EXPLODE anyway she wore a green jumpsuit with a huge belt and some cute high heeled booties and uh she was her usual cute self being like HI GUYS WHATS UP there were like 200 people there and i couldn’t get over that!!! this was her smallest show in like 10 years???? AND I WAS THERE??? uh but yeah so she did 6 songs - gorgeous + delicate on guitar, all too well + new years day on piano, and shake it off on guitar. here are some highlights from that set...
the whole crowd did *DING* during gorgeous and 123 LET’S GO BITCH during delicate
taylor said that they were trying to decide if they needed backing vocalists and she decided not to and it turned out they didnt need them because we sung literally ALL the backing parts - like the high pitched “delicate” - we did that
she didnt even finish the last delicate bc we sang it so loud and she just laughed
she was so so SOOOOO comfortable with us like i have never seen her so candid and chill and relaxed?? like she was smiling and giggling and she made mistakes and didn’t even care and it was so CUTE I CANT STAND IT
at the piano she was like “oooh sorry i didnt get to sound check hang on lemme figure this out”
when she sat at the piano she was like “wow my hair’s so long” and how she thought about cutting it for these upcoming florida shows since it’s so hot and then the crowd was like OMG CUT IT or OMG DONT CUT IT and our section was like CUT ITTTT and she looked directly at us and was like mmmmm “you guys dont want it....” and wow i think she looked at me then wowowow
she explained that for all too well it was such an emotional song and she used to hate playing it bc it made her so sad but bc we love it so much now she loves playing it bc it makes her think of us and she was freaking SMILING DURING THIS WHOLE PERFORMANCE!! like the last time i saw her perform it live in my presence was 5 years ago at the red tour in chicago and she was crying but during this time she was LAUGHING AND SMILING
someone sang all to welllllll really terribly and off key and the whole audience fell silent and taylor just looked at that person and laughed and we all lost it
then she talked about writing reputation and how it was so cathartic for her and like she came up with the “there will be no explanation there will just be reputation” rhyme and it was so cool that now she has to stick to it and not give interviews so she was excited to explain to us more about the album
AND THEN she told this story about how 2 new years ago she was celebrating and just like realizing that everyone just wants to kiss someone at midnight but you really need someone to look after you while you’re popping advils the next day
she played new years day and we were all so emo wow
so then she gets up to get her guitar and we’re all like PLAY THE SPARKLY GUITAR!!!! and she looked so dismayed she was like “guys it’s just a prop it isn’t tuned” and we were so sad we were like TUNE IT!!! and she’s like NO I CANT
so thennnn she’s like “okay so i have one more song” and we were all like “PLAY MORE PLAY MORE” and she said “well, i could play you three more songs ORRRR we could take pictures...” and wow everyone died it was wild
she played shake it off acoustic and im not okay
then she explained what was gonna happen next and she was like FIRST OF ALL i cant really talk to you since i’m touring i need to save my voice and i’m not supposed to talk and second, we’re doing it in groups of four so make friends bc you’ll get photos in groups of four!
then as she finished she was like “uh i guess i’ll just go back here? no one really told me what was happening or what to do so...ILL SEE YOU SOON!!!”
as we walked out i saw a girl hugging her friend and crying. relatable. so hailee and i waited for our blue color to be called and went to claim our free merch. after we freshened up, we were waiting and this girl offered us poptarts and we both looked at each other and were like “omg poptarts” soooo then we got at the end of the line for the M&G. we were freaking out and we didn’t know what we’re gonna say and it was so surreal. like, we were gonna meet taylor swift. TAYLOR SWIFT! FUCK
so we’re waiting. and then these staff people come over and ask how many we have in our party (we say 2) and immediately they’re like...i think we have 2 openings over here hang on. so they deliberate, and then we’re being motioned to the FRONT OF THE LINE and we skip like 50 people and OUR HEARTBEATS TOOK OFF! WE WERE NOT ALL THERE! WE EXPLODED! WE WERE SO UNPREPARED TO JUMP THAT LINE BUT WOW WE WERE REALLY OUT THERE GETTING READY TO MEET TAYLOR.
we then were ushered upstairs and they lead us over a little bridge that was above the concert venue. eventually we made it past another security checkpoint and got to this fabric walled hallway where we glimpsed MAMA SWIFT and we almost lost it.
as we approached the very front of the line, TREE PAINE SHOWED UP and was just so sweet and nice and bubbly and we immediately decided to stan her. she was like “wow this is such a beautiful group of people you all look fantastic!” and we were like WOW ITS TREE PAINE and so then THEN ANDREA CAME BACK OUT AND WAS LIKE HELLO WOW YOU ALL LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL!!! and i shook her hand and told her it was honor to meet her and she was so so happy
(this whole time dont blame me and delicate was playing in the background)
((at one point tree was trying to figure out what was playing and i was like ITS DELICATE and she was like OH YEAH YOU’RE RIGHT))
sooooooo ummmmmm then security was ushering us around the corner and into this back area and TAYLOR SWIFT WAS RIGHT THERE??????? hailee and i were GRIPPING each others hands and i almost broke down into tears but hailee was like NO YOUR MAKE UP DONT DO IT YET NOT YET HOLD IT TOGETHER
and taylor (that sneaky bitch i love her) saw us together and basically took a photo with the other 2 people in our group and THEN came over to us to do us separately (!!!) ((apparently according to hailee the at&t lady running the thing was like “what is happening” but it’s taylor swift so she can do anything) so she walked over to us and we kept our cool somehow and i was like “WE WAITED 10 YEARS FOR THIS” and she high fived me and was like “WE DID IT!!” and i told her i drove 8 hours from nashville and she was baffled about how far that was. hailee thanked her for making her more courageous and resilient and we thanked her for the pride speech in chicago and she was so excited we went to the rain show. then i thanked her for writing
“invisible” and she looked at me like OH WOW IM SHOCKED she was like “wow no one ever talks about that song thank you!” and i told her it made me feel seen and she was just so so kind and warm and did i mention she hugged us? and she’s kinda tall but she felt like our height and she felt like our best friend? ummm yeah so then the at&t people were like PICTURE and we went over and hailee and i both blacked out like we don’t remember what the background looked like??? i assume it’s the same as it always is but we didn’t notice lol um yeah so i remember smiling for the photo and i LEANED MY HEAD AGAINST TAYLORS???!?!? and then as we were finishing i was like IM GOING TO LOUISVILLE ON SATURDAY!!! and she was like “wow im so excited! i cant wait to be back on tour! i always hate the breaks in between!” and then i was like “CAN YOU PLAY SOMETHING FROM SPEAK NOW” and she was like “oh maybe” but she looked so disinterested i was thinking TAYLOR COME ON ITS SPEAK NOW and then i said i love you and she said i love you i think and then we got out and wowowowowowow
tree paine was there again and we were like OMG THAKN YOU CAN WE HUG YOU and she was so sweet like YES OF COURSE!!!! (um @tree-paine you are literally the kindest i would die for you) anyway hailee had a letter for taylor and she asked tree if someone could give it to her and tree was like i’ll put it in my back pocket!! and then we left and we kept thanking people as we walked out and that is the story of the greatest night of my life.

I don’t even know where to begin.
I got a DM from @taylornation on Twitter last week asking me for my birthday and location, obviously I responded right away. They replied and said I was invited to a secret Taylor Swift NOW event in NYC. I was actually freaking out. Like freaking out is an understatement. I invited my cousin @ramonkey8 who is from Massachusetts to be my plus one. All week long we were trying to think of what this secret event could be. Secret session? Private concert? Taping of something?
Fast forward to Sunday. We are parking to go the pop up shop when we get the email with more details. We were in line to go into the pop up shop for so long (but it was worth it) and couldn’t stop thinking of what the next day would be. Before heading home for the day, we drove by our pick up spot. Literally an abandoned building in a not busy area. Sketchy.
On Monday at 5:00 we drive past the place and there was a ton of security outside and a few charter busses. We went to Starbucks first so I can eat beforehand. At 5:45 we went to the spot again. We had to give our names before heading inside, where we waited on a line to check in. We checked in and got our wristbands then went through security. By this time it was a little after 7:00 and we got on the bus. The bus was a huge dance party in itself!
We went to where the pop up shop was but the party was upstairs. We were told it was a screening of exclusive, never before seen Taylor Swift NOW content, which was one of the things I was thinking. We checked in at the party to connect our wristbands with our information. The room was so cool. There were neon sign lyrics everywhere, gorgeous flowers and a ton of candles. There was a candy bar and a cookie dough bar (and an alcohol bar but I’m under 21). We took some pictures at different set ups around the room and got our spots for the 8:30 screening.
We watched the Making of a Song for “I Did Something Bad” which was so cool. We watched an extended video of the secret sessions and also an extended of the “New Year’s Day” Scandal performance.
Then @taylorswift walks in.
Literal glasses dropping and shattering. Boxes of candy fall to the ground. People are hysterical crying. She gave a speech which I honestly don’t really remember because I was freaking out, but I have a video.
My wristband was green, and green went first to meet her. So blah blah, freaking out while we were waiting. We gave all of our stuff to the workers because we couldn’t bring anything in the area to meet her.
I walked in and we gave each other the biggest hug. I said, “I always thought I would meet you eventually but I never thought I would actually meet you” And I don’t remember what she said but we ended up high fiving and it was the BEST high five ever. So hard and so accurate. I said my cousin is here from Boston and I am from New Jersey and we talked about my cousin’s accent (I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk lol). We took our picture and on the way out my cousin said we are planning where we will see her on tour and Taylor said “I am SO excited for tour!!”
I sat down on one of the couches to just like, I don’t know, take it all in? Rachel went to get water then called me over to meet her parents who were next to the bar. Her parents were SO nice! We danced with Andrea to her line in ‘nice things’ and of course Scott gave us guitar pics!
On our way out a little after 11:00, we got a Rep gift bag with a pop socket, snake key chain (with “New York” on the back), tshirt, hat, and sticker. We also got a Taylor Swift NOW gift bag with a glass water bottle, notebook and cluth, all personalized with the TSNOW logos.
So cool!!

G-EAZY INVITED ME.
Anyone who knows me personally, knows that Logic and G-Eazy are my two biggest inspirations and favorite rappers. To be more specific, lately I would say Logic is my favorite rapper but G-Eazy is my favorite artist all around. That’s a topic for another time though. I started listening to both of them in 2013.

Back in November, G-Eazy picked a few cities to have his fans listen to his new album, The Beautiful & Damned, early. The seven cities he went to were Albuquerque, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans and Minnesota. Because I live on Long Island, I went to the NY one at the Mezzanine. But you’re probably wondering, “How the fuck did you even get invited?!” Well, before he even announced these listening parties he released a bunch of pre-order bundles for the album. I bought the $50 one he had that came with a physical copy of the album, a hoodie, a bandanna, a key chain and a hat. I wanted the cop the autographed version but it was already sold out when I went to buy it. I also bought a poster. Like a week or two after, he posted on his Instagram that he’s going to do something special for the fans who pre-ordered the album early. The next day he announced that he’ll be having fan appreciation parties for the first 500 fans who pre-ordered it in each city. On that post, there was link to a form that had you put down your name, age and screenshotted proof that you pre-ordered the album. Once you clicked submit they said you would receive an email like 2 days before the event. Not expecting to get picked at all, I filled it out and sure enough I got an email with an invitation. I was hyped. Luckily, my boss let my take off work that day to go. I didn’t actually tell him why I took off. I just said “something kinda came up.” I think he thought something bad happened because he was genuinely concerned and asked me a few times if everything was alright. I never called out before that or took off from work prior to this either. It pays to be a hard worker.
Now being invited was cool enough and I was thankful for that already but what happened the day of the event was just the icing on the cake. So I drove to the city, parked in a parking garage and walked to Mezzanine. When I found the place, I saw the line and walked all the way to the back. I made it just on time. Not even like 2 minutes on the line, one of G’s organizers came up to me and asked me, “are you the last one on line?” I looked behind me and said “Uhh... yea.” Then he asked if was by myself and I said yes. He handed me a wristband and said “alright, come with me.” My dude put me on the VIP line. I didn’t even know there was VIP prior to getting there. Oh that wristband I got? When he gave that me and brought me to the other line, I figured it just lets them know you were a VIP. Apparently, it just meant that you were allowed to drink. I’m only 20. One of his other organizers ID-ed me and was like, “You’re under 21, why do have a wristband?” I pointed to the other organizer who gave it to me and said “Oh, he gave it to me.” He obviously took it away but I still got to be one of the first ones in. I don’t even drink anyway so I really could care less.
Lowkey thought they were going to send me back to the other line.
Being the first ones in, we got first dibs on the free food and those of us who were allowed to drink got access to the bar and were able to try Stillhouse (a brand of whiskey that G-Eazy partnered with a few months back). It was a nice intimate setting too. Since I had early entry, I was able to be close to the stage. It was pretty dope. It was different compared to being in an arena or outdoors with a big stage. The stage itself was small and you were basically just below eye level with anyone on stage.
When everyone finally made it in, they put on the short film that went along with the album. It was a nice visual to further explain the concept of the album.I thought it was cool. It kind of sucks that’s it’s only available on Apple Music. My son really needs to drop that opening track from the film though. I completely forgot about it until someone pointed it out on Twitter when the album officially dropped. After we were done watching, the GOAT himself came out and everyone started cheering. He came out and opened with his song “Shake It Up ft. 24 Hrs, E-40 & Madeintyo.” You can check out some of the clips of the night in my video above. He talked about the album, how some of the songs came about... some songs he performed while others he just let them play while he signed things for fans in the crowd. I wanted him to sign my copy of his Must Be Nice mixtape but I was just out of reach. It was basically a mini concert where you got to interact with the artist if you were lucky enough. Unfortunately, I was not able to actually meet him because it was just hard to push through the crowd. I’m just grateful to have been there and experienced all of it. I know one day I’ll meet him and you know damn well I’ll be making a blog post about it when I do.
Opinion of “The Beautiful & Damned?”
I love this album. I have literally been listening to it since the day it dropped. You can even say I have been listening to album before that too because I would listen to some of the leaked snippets on YouTube almost every other day leading up to the release. I was waiting for this album to drop for a long time. I was hyped as all hell for it and for me it delivered. Can’t lie though, I am a little salty that some of the snippets I heard didn’t make the album. I really wanted to hear the full versions of the “What Else is New?” and “Crazy Love” (probably not the official names) snippets that were supposed to be on his cancelled Endless Summer 2 project. Still salty about that too. I really hope one day he releases them. Before The Beautiful & Damned, his debut album, These Things Happen, was my favorite project of his as well as my favorite album... well... ever. It was my favorite album of all time. One of my tattoos are lyrics from the song “Opportunity Cost” that was on that album. He somehow managed to top These Things Happen for me. You might be asking, “What about When It’s Dark Out?” I thought When It’s Dark Out was okay. At first I kinda liked it but I really did not enjoy it as much. However, I liked the meaning behind the album which is probably why I still appreciate it. It’s weird too because it had that dark, villainy type vibe that G-Eazy has in some of his songs that I usually fuck with, but I just wasn’t feeling it for some reason. Of course I liked some of the songs on it. “Random” is still one of my favorite songs after all.
I feel like The Beautiful & Damned is the perfect mix of These Things Happen and When It’s Dark Out. I think that’s why I love it so much. It’s also the first album in awhile that I can sincerely say that I love every song but my favorite song is definitely “Charles Brown.” There is that deep conscious rap that I adore as well as hype tracks. Also I love the whole duality concept between G-Eazy and Gerald because I can relate to it. I can’t relate to whole partying, drugs and drinking lifestyle part because that just has never been my thing. I more relate to having two sides of me. Conjuror and Avery. I briefly went into that in my first blog post but I’ll talk more about that another time.
I always see people saying G-Eazy changed and all he raps about is drugs, partying, girls, sex and money instead of meaningful shit. If you think about it though, he always rapped about all of those things. Maybe not the money so much because... well he obviously didn’t have much at the time but go listen to his older mixtapes and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Honestly, getting invited to listen to your favorite artist’s new album early is just a dope experience all around. Especially one that you look up to so much. I’m so thankful and it will always be a moment I’ll never forget. The only thing left to do now is to actually meet the guy and one day I will... I just know it.

MONSTA X in San Francisco!!
Hello my lovelies!! I know I haven't updated in forever, but I did want to share my experience of MX in SF on 7/21/2017 with all of you! Warning: This is very long but it’s pretty detailed. Props to you if you manage to read all of it!!
OKAY LETS START WITH THE FACT I WASNT EVEN GOING TO GO TO THIS CONCERT. When tickets had originally gone on sale in May, I was like on a kpop hiatus bc of school and I was also super broke so I decided not to go and didnt buy tickets. Im not sure why I went about this because as soon as the first show happened in Chicago and I saw fan accounts about it on twitter and everything i had immediately regretted it and went to find tickets as soon as possible. i managed to get my hands on a p1 ticket and found out that some of my mutuals were going as well so i had talked to them about meeting up etc etc. I aM SOSOSOSOSOSSO THANKFUL FOR THEM bc they let me join them in line after I got off of work which was late and required so much effort including wristbands and SO MUCH STRESS.
SO IN THE END AFTER THE MESS i was lucky enough to the front row on the very left side, and there were no speakers blocking or a barricade in front of me WHICJ WAS NICE. i ended up getting separated from my friends who were in the middle second row but i had preferred the side bc i thought i could get better fan service especially since i was in the front row. the show finally started and even though it was sometimes difficult to see what was in the middle due to the speakers, during dances their formations had them pretty spaced out on the stage so there was a lot of dancing close by. they were so close and gorgeous and it was so breathtaking bc they’re real and just right there. For example during wonho's solo performance when he was shirtless I was so in awe of him bc you could see how defined and sculpted his torso is, and all the little details. i especially appreciated when he danced and poured his heart out right in front of me.
FANSERVICE MOMENTS:
AS KIHYUN TRASH I WENT ALL OUT AND MADE A LIGHT UP SIGN AND FAN WITH DERP PICS TO GET HIM TO NOTICE ME AND IT HAPPENED ONLY ONCE IN THE BEGINNING MENT. ALL IS WELL BC RAP LINE CURED MY SOUL.
A lot of the time jooheon and changkyun were on my side and close by, and i would always just give a little wave and smile ans EVERY TIME THEY WOULD WAVE OR SMILE BACK I WAS SO TAKEN ABACK BC IT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES. During I'll Be There, they all have different places where they are the entire song and Changkyun was on the stairwell right in front of me. he would be a little spacey at times, but if he was looking in the direction where I was standing I would wave and he noticed and waved/smiled back which happened twice during the song. White Sugar is the next song and when they handed out chocolates and I got 4 total from Changkyun, Minhyuk, Jooheon and then the security guard gave me the one Wonho gave him lol. But basically as soon as Changkyun got his basket, i had immediately searched him out and we made eye contact and he tossed it to me first akdiqjsiwoqlsbdja. I had it on video but i was so set on making sure i got it the filming was terrible.
There was a large distance between the barricade and edge of the stage, so a lot of the chocolate was thrown out. Because there were no speakers where I was; the members all came over to throw out candy, which got me one that i caught from minhyuk. Wonho came over, made eye contact with me then gave it to the security guard and laughed........ that tease. By the last chorus, the members had all emptied their baskets but there were a few pieces of candy left on stage. JOOHEON STARTED WALKING TO WHERE I WAS AND THERE WAS A SNICKERS RIGHT IN THE WIRES IN FRONT OF ME. I SMILED AT HIM AND WAVED AND HE WALKED OVER WITH A SMILE LOOKING AND ME, BENT DOWN AND GOT THE SNICKERS AND HANDED IT TO ME!!! HOMIE WAS DEAD SET ON GIVING IT TO ME TOO I GOT THEM RECEIPTS IN THE SLOW MO VIDEOS AND SCREENSHOTS.
ANYWAYS AFTER THIS; I STILL THRIVED IN INTERACTIONS WITH RAP LINE. There was a particular moment I remember later in the choreography when Jooheon was on my side of the stage and he was kneeling, looked over, I waved and he like laughed and had the cutest eyesmiles. Later on during 5:14, Changkyun was right in front of me and (I had my video on selfie video mode to see if he would take it but they didnt take phones from fans) but he pointed to it and then waved later hes :') so :') cute :')
Something else that had happened to me was Minhyuk would tend to look at me when he was in front of me and i would politely wave and smile to him! I know that they meet thousands and thousands of fans, but according to the group he and KH have the best memory of faces. My friend had also sent the video of me from the airport last uear to his mom who sent it to him, so i doubt he remembered and was just giving fan service but a girl can dream.
HiTouch/Photo-Op Experience!!
Okay so after the show I finally found my friends again and we were all waiting for hi-touch and photo op. When we lined up, and started actually going, i had no idea they were going to be in the venue lobby as all of the other kpop concerts I had gone to had benefits on the stage. But as soon and I turned the corner they were right there! The order was Kihyun -> Wonho -> Changkyun -> Shownu -> Jooheon -> Minhyuk. It was really fast if I'm being honest and I couldn't really drag it out, but I did as much as I could. I simply said thank you to all of them except for when I got to Minhyuk, in which i said "Thank you! You're my friend _____'s cousin!" And he smiled at me at first, then did a complete double take and looked at me as I walked away in complete shock.
For photo-op, we were in groups of 20, and my friends were numbers 4-7, so we were in the group right in front of the members. One of my friends and another girl had already said they wanted to be in front of Kihyun, so I decided to go between Changkyun and Wonho. That friend had ended up in front of Shownu, and then ran over to Kihyun to be next to him. When this happened, the spacing was off AND CHANGKYUN GRABBED MY SHOULDERS AND DRAGGED ME TO BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM!! His touch is honestly so gentle and he didn't even really say anything and just moved me to him where I ended up getting blocked by someone taller in front of me. I whined a little bit if I'm being honest, and was like "Oh I'm so short though" and he was just like "It's okay just stand here" then took his hands off of me. I'm still swooning over it and when I think about it, I get the chills because of it and I must be crazy but I still feel like his hands are there. I was so shaken up I forgot to ask to do anything like a heart and just smiled lol but I'm perfectly okay with it because of what happened. After 2 or 3 photos, we all left and I definitely milked saying bye and Changkyun and I smiled at eachother again and wow I'm suddenly a Changkyun stan.

Monsta X in SF July 21 2017
I can’t believe I saw them last night and it was a crazy ride. To start off with, my friend @seouledsoul2kpop and I got in line around 12pm and made some new friends. If you couldn’t tell from her blog @seouledsoul2kpop likes Minhyuk and Kihyun, I like Hyungwon which was unfortunate since he wasn’t there. But they announced that he was coming to LA so I’m glad he’s feeling better. Our new friends were Shownu and Wonho biased. We got pink bags that we put on over light sticks or flashlights for the end, fan made fans of our biases, and lots of photocards! As they were passing out photocards, one of the cards dropped and it was Shownu’s. I have never had a problem with anyone in Monsta X but when your bias isn’t there…let’s say that that photocard dropping sent off a chain of events because a little while later, people screamed and the whole line stood up. Why? Because their van was coming down passed the line. And guess who was the first person we saw? Shownu. He was staring with such a blank expression on his face. Someone else waved behind him but I don’t know who it was. Shownu seriously had eye contact with all of us. Fast forward a bit and it was around 6pm and this is where the ticket situation happened. So before, they said they were having problems with some tickets and ours was one of them so we didn’t get out wristbands when everyone else did. We found out that we weren’t P2 (the line we had been in) and were actually P3, which wrapped around the building twice and we weren’t not getting into after being in line for hours. So we decided to play dumb and act innocent. And it worked! When we entered the theater, we told them we never got our wristbands and that people had told us to stay there. But by the luck of Monsta x, they gave us P2 and we got in. And do you know what P2 means? Hi touch. Yes I touched their hands. We’ll get to that later.
We were in the front of the P2 section on the far right facing the stage, a little blocked by the huge speakers but still better than being behind tall people since we were all short. They had to delay to start for a couple minutes because of a problem in the dressing room but the concert started soon after. My first thought when they walked out was “wow they’re so tall!” They really were! And Wonho’s hair was just perfect. Kihyun was showing that forehead too! Shownu’s body was so amazing, I was in awe. Minhyuk is actually really tall and thin. Jooheon was so cute and I.M spoke really good english. They performed beautiful first and then hero. They then stopped and introduced themselves. When there was a break and mostly silence, I screamed Hyungwon’s name just because I missed him. They did talk about Hyungwon a lot and I could tell they were sad that he couldn’t be there. They had a translator but it was hard to hear them and the translator since everyone wouldn’t stop screaming. I can’t really remember the order of songs so sorry if I mess it up or leave out songs. They performed Ex Girl, Ready or Not, Oi, White Sugar, White Love, Honestly, Broken Heart, Rush, All In, Trespass,Shine Forever, Be Quiet, Blind, and Fighter. They also had unit stages. Wonho was the first and he of course came out wearing an open jacket and showing his abs. He has such a great body. He performed a song that originally had Hyungwon in it so a dancer had to take his place. But that was good because that dancer became my new bias. He was so cute! Next was Shownu, Minhyuk, and I.M and they did some Bruno Mars songs. Jooheon and Kihyun were next with a song that was so beautiful. The rapping and singing fit so well together. During White Sugar they threw candy into the crowd. They can throw too because some of it made it into the second floor. They were really nice and kept acknowledging the second floor which is not often seen. Jooheon threw a piece of candy to our side and it landed right by my foot but someone else got it before me. Kihyun ate some candy, Wonho kept throwing candy at the speaker and not the crowd and his face was so cute. I.M messed up his rap a bit while throwing candy at the floor instead of the crowd and again, was really cute. During White Love, they stopped singing and we sang for them and it sounded so amazing. I got really emotional during Broken Heart and I was just thinking about them and what they see when look into the crowd at all these fans who don’t speak Korean and still love them. Jooheon really liked our side and kept coming over. He waved at us and he actually did see us too. Wonho came over a lot too and one time I smiled and waved a little at him and he did his whole shy smiled and waved back! Shownu also came with Kihyun and waved. Minhyuk and I.M came over a bit but I’m not sure if they saw us or not. After Fighter ended, they went off stage and returned after a couple minutes for the encore stage. They performed and then said their last ments. They all spoke in Korean (except for I.M) with Minhyuk trying to speak in english for us. Jooheon said that he was sad he couldn’t speak english well but he did very well! They were all thankful that we came and that they were come back to SF soon. They performed 5:14 (Last Page) as they walked around and said goodbye. They all came over and waved to us. Shownu saw us this time and Jooheon was loving our side. I swear he kept looking in our direction.
The concert ended and then it hit me that I couldn’t leave yet because of the Hi Touch. I started freaking out because I didn’t know what to say. We waited for maybe twenty minutes, getting into line right behind P1 who were getting a picture with them. We weren’t allowed to have our phones out so I couldn’t film it which sucks because I barely remember what I said. So we’re in line and then they appeared on the second floor and they waved to us. Then the Hi Touch happened. We were towards the back of the line because the closer you are to the back, they better they would remember you. We walked out of the theater and right around the corner, there they were. No warning whatsoever. I was right behind @seouledsoul2kpop and I guess we had different experiences with the Hi Touch so ask her for her’s if you want it. I turned around the corner and Kihyun was the first one I saw. I swore and was like “probably shouldn’t swear right now.” Damn that forehead. His face was so cute and his eyes! I thought it was going to go by really fast and I would barely be able to touch them but I was able to really hold their hands for at least two seconds. It really wasn’t high fiving but more like holding their hands. I said thank you in korean to Kihyun and he said it back with such a big smile. He must have been so happy to hear Korean from a fan who wasn’t Korean. Kihyun actually has smaller hands then I thought because his hands fit perfectly in mine and I have small hands. Wonho was next and I am so embarrassed by what I said to him. I didn’t recognize him at first for some reason and I was like “wow that guy is attractive.” I realized that was Wonho and the first thing that came out of my mouth was “Oh my god, you’re so handsome.” Someone please kill me! Why did I say that!? He smiled really shyly and said thank you. He has really big hands by the way. Shownu was next and I’m not sure if I said thank you in english or Korean but I know he said thank you back in english. Shownu also has big hands. I.M said thank you in english before I could even say anything so I said thank you back. Jooheon smiled at me and I melted I swear. I think I said thank you and I think he said thank you back, not sure. Minhyuk was last and he smiled at me so brightly. I think I said thank you in korean or I love you in Korean, I have no idea. I think he said thank you in english. His hands are huge and he has really long fingers And then it was over and I screamed so loud I’m sure they thought I had died. They all were so tall and they all bend forward a bit to match my height. Also, what lotion do they use because they hands were so soft. I remember Kihyun’s the best and I think I might be in love with his hands. The concert was so much fun and I’m so thankful that I got to meet them. Thank you Monsta X for such a great experience!!!

Let me tell you a little story
I live in Las Vegas (it’s not fabulous or amazing). I have a pretty cool job. I dont get paid much and it’s not steady work at all. But it’s cool. I work at concerts doing the box office, taking tickets at the doors or selling merch. So to sum it up, I get paid to go to concerts. Pretty sweet right?!
More about me- I’m a very nervous person. I have severe anxiety and mild agoraphobia. I do not like peopley situations. Add on top of that, the high alert my city is on due to terror threats.
So last night I was working an event called Punk Rock Bowling. I was anxious about the while thing. The headliner was Iggy Pop and the show was sold out. Lots of tickets were going to need to be scanned, and those tickets were attached to people. Ugh. I can not tell you how many people thought it was okay to get in my personal space. One guy even had the audacity to rub my shoulder. I smacked his hand away with my incredible ninja skills.
After standing on my feet for 7 hours, I was finally off and free to grab a beer and watch Iggy Pop. Damn was I excited for both! Hoped in one beer line, they closed it right before I got to the counter. Not to be discouraged, I went to another line. Same damn thing happened. 4 lines later “you don’t have a 21+ wristband. I can’t sell you beer.” Are. You. Kidding. Me?! I hunt down a wristband, go back to the line and guess what– closed. At long last I find an open line. Beer acquired, Iggy Pop is still playing, life is good.
I’m standing in the crowd listening to Iggy (who was AMAZING!) and as usual I get the occasional people trying to converse with me when the recognize me from taking their tickets.
All of a sudden, I hear explosions, louder than the music (remember how afraid of an attack I was?). All my brain thinks is *not today Isis!* I turn to run.
It was fireworks.
Best part of the story? I didn’t spill my beer.

[REPORT] EDP × beatnation summit 2017 -beatnation 10th Anniversary- & After Party!
What happens when you bring the biggest names in BEMANI together for a special live event and after-party talk show? You get…
EDP × beatnation summit 2017
-beatnation 10th Anniversary-
-INFORMATION-
Originally announced just about 3 months ago on Konami’s BEnama #161, this event was not only a major EDP (Exit Tunes Dance Party), but also a celebration of the beatnation records label’s 10th anniversary!
beatnation records, for those unfamiliar, is Konami’s in-house label that has released various albums, such as BEMANI Original Soundtracks, or artists’ solo albums. The 7 members include:
dj TAKA (Ishikawa Takayuki)
DJ YOSHITAKA (Nishimura Yoshitaka)
L.E.D. (Kakuta Toshiyuki)
Sota Fujimori
Nekomata Master (Sato Naoyuki)
kors k (Saito Kosuke)
Ryu☆ (Nakahara Ryutaro)
In 2007, the group held their first concert: “beatnation summit –beatmania IIDX premium Live-” in two small locations in Japan, with just 600 and 200 visitors able to attend each one. The label, the games’ popularity, and the live industry has grown since then, and this year’s event was a celebration of the past 10 years of the beatnation label.
This year, some special ticket sets were sold, including a Super VIP set, containing a Limited-Edition pen light, a wristband, a ticket to the front section of the concert, and a ticket for the after-party talk event, held the next day.
It also contained a redemption card to exchange for the Official Pamphlet – a roughly $15 premium booklet including artist profiles and interviews, a special talk session, and most importantly, these pictures:

On the day of the event, March 18th, interested parties headed over to STUDIO COAST in Shin-Kiba, located conveniently east of Tokyo Station, in a somewhat quiet industrial part of the city. There was a limit on the queuing for goods this time, so if you wanted to secure a purchase as fast as possible, you had to turn up at 6am for a randomly-numbered ticket, which determined your place in the line that was starting at 8:30, with goods only going on sale starting at 10am. Some fans turned up early, only to receive a disappointingly high number:

Here we are! STUDIO COAST, also known as the “ageHa” club venue, was ready for the crowds, and a line formed around 10am towards the gachapon capsule machines, where one of 21 different designs was available:
I tried my luck 4 times with the following results:
On a stage area just left of the building, there were 3 massive cut-out stands of the crew, as well as kors k in one of his signature poses, and Ryu☆’s newest album:
Lots of fans enjoyed taking pictures with these until after the event finished! A great new idea for this year’s EDP.
Speaking of new ideas – a very interesting collaboration between EDP and two popular magazines, GROOVE and Sound & Recording, yielded three different items: a custom T-shirt with your choice of various event photos of the concert, a standard T-shirt with 4 choices of colors and logo designs, or a Totebag with those same choices:
After the official goods area had quieted down a bit, I wandered over to take a peek…
This time around, credit cards were accepted in addition to cash and the whole process went extremely smoothly, especially compared to previous events. What sold out first was almost all older goods/back stock, followed by the official event goods:

After grabbing a drink ticket (which I should have IMMEDIATELY exchanged for a bottle of water but forgot…) I proceeded into the Super-VIP [forefront] area which held around 150 people just in front of the main stage.
The venue for this event was quite nice, with excellent sound, plenty of ventilation and, an amazing stage setup including lasers (By MiU) and smoke/ice.

Unfortunately for many fans hoping to see their favorites on the Another Floor, the timetable overlapped with the Main Floor. While the passage between the two areas was open, moving from your initial spot would mean you aren’t getting back there. Most everyone in the VIP area with me stayed there the entire time. If I had just bought a normal ticket however, I’d probably go back-and-forth to catch all the best moments of both. My only gripe is the overlap of the times.

At the beginning, DJ TOTTO came out on stage to DJ, and to everyone’s surprise, Yoshitaka and Sota appeared on the balcony in the upper-rear of the hall! After a short performance there, including an awesome keytar solo from Sota, they dashed down to the front stage and continued on, accompanied by dance unit “TITAN” – Dai., Yossy, Hirayasu Matsudo, and newcomer LEO. In addition, wac and NU-KO joined the stage for their final song!

The final act was, of course, the IIDX “King” himself, dj TAKA! His set was filled with some incredible moments including Mei, of all songs, plus a special appearance by wac to play the difficult keyboard in Zirkfied, and finally, the full extended version of True Blue, complete with English lyrics shown on-screen, where the entire crowd sung along:

After an ending credit roll sequence, the event finally concluded. Outside, some fliers were given out including one, announcing kors k and REDALiCE’s final S2TBTANO*C event:

The official After Party was held in two time slots in Shibuya at Tokyo Culture Culture. Our VIP ticket got us into the Afternoon slot, and we also purchased a ticket for the Evening time.
(Yes, they fixed the typo afterwards.)
The event was essentially a talk session including whichever artists wanted to stop by, including:
Ryu☆, kors k, Halka, Mayumi Morinaga, Xceon, Dai., Yossy, RoughSketch, Kanae Asaba, BlackY, Yooh, C-Show, MK, Camellia, t+pazolite, and secret beatnation guest Sota Fujimori!
All the guests chose parts of the live to watch on the big screen, and give a live commentary about various aspects, such as the song production, backstage information, and many more interesting stories.
A special drink menu was also available including Black or White cocktails, Superfried Gyoza, and more:
Plenty of interesting stories were heard. Hopefully this kind of event happens again! It was a lot of fun.

On the 1st of July, I went to see Green Day in Hyde Park, this was a last-minute decision as we found out the day before that we had been lucky enough to get guest listed for the event. We left the at around 7:30 in the morning and travelled to London. Once arriving in London, we got a bus to Hyde park where we had to queue up to collect our tickets. After collecting our tickets, we went to queue up the entrance where we found that the queue was extremely long and thought that it would take forever to get through however once it started moving, even with all the security checks it did not take very long to get through. Once inside the venue/ area where the event was to take place we went to collect our wristbands that would let us into the guest area.
The first thing that we did was go and explore the festival area, inside we found lots of things including food stalls, fairground rides, things to try and there was also a special area for Barclay card area where you could go if you had a Barclay card and inside was a play are with many things to do and take part in.
The music started around one and we went to watch Jesse Malin they were a lively band that had enjoyable and catchy music that everyone wanted to dace to. I found them very enjoyable and easy to watch and I feel that they were a good band to be on first on any stage not just a smaller stage in the background. Stiff Little Fingers started at around two and once Jesse Malin had finished this was who we went to watch, at this time many people were sitting down and watching bands instead of getting up and dancing, we went up to the railings originally to watch the band but I soon found that because I am quite small I could not see very well so we had to move back so that I could see better, as there was large screens all over the park this meant that I could see what was going on quite easily in most places.
SWMRS were the next band on the Barclaycard stage, I had seen this band before so I was very excited about seeing them as I had enjoyed watching them many times before. As I know lots of the bands songs I found them very enjoyable to watch as I could sing and dance along to their songs, at point during the bands set I was able to sit on people I knew shoulders so that I could see over everyone and see the stage easily, one of the things that I enjoyed most about this set was the fact that as it was not the main stage you were never too far away from the front of the stage. I feel that this band perform well live meaning that I could thoroughly enjoy the show. During this bands set a lot of the audience were singing along to the songs making the show even more enjoyable.
The Hives were next to perform on the main stage, I had not heard music from this band before but I had heard a lot about them and I knew that a lot of people enjoyed their music. They were a lively and cheerful band, they had a theme of black and white, the backdrop to their show was a picture in black and white, they also wore black and white suits that were opposite to each other for example one half of the legs were white the other black and then the jacket was the opposite way around. I found The Hives show fun to watch and I felt like the band had a very large stage presence. After the Hives performance, we visited the guest area for the first time and had some dinner (The Best Macaroni Cheese I Have Ever Tasted), inside there was food stalls, a seating area and some bean bags. Whilst having dinner we did not realise that we had unfortunately missed Gogol Bordello but after sitting down for about an hour we were more than ready for Rancid and Green Day.
Rancid were on stage first as they were the band that have been supporting Green Day for the length of their current tour, the band play ska punk music but it is edging more towards the punk side than the ska side. Rancid have also recently released a new album so they played quite a few songs from that along with a lot of there more popular songs, there music was extremely enjoyable and got everyone very hyped up and ready for Green Day.
Once Rancid had finished it was getting towards the time that everyone had been waiting for, the area that people were standing in started to fill up rapidly and so therefore got very hot, about half an hour before Green Day came on the security guards were passing around water as it was very hot. Finally, it got to the point that everyone had been waiting for and “Bohemian Rhapsody” started to play, everyone sang along to all the words and we all knew that this meant that they would be coming on soon. Next up was “Blitzkrieg Bop” and running on came a person dressed up as pink bunny rabbit who got the crowd cheering and ready. Then the moment everyone had been waiting for, Green Day burst onto the stage with “Know Your Enemy” and everyone was singing along and jumping around at this point I decided that it would be a good idea to move back as I was very small so I was getting shoved around a lot and nearly fell over many times, once further back I decided that it was a better place to stand anyway as it meant that I could actually see the stage, towards the end of know your enemy Billie invited someone on stage to sing with him. This was then followed by two songs from the bands most recent album “Revolution Radio” and “Bang, Bang” this excited everyone in the crowd. Next up was “Holiday” at this point a very kind man who I still do not know the name of let me sit on his shoulders so that I could see easily and see over everyone’s head, he let me stay up there for quite a few songs and I am very thankful to him for this. The band then played more songs new and old before playing “Longview where they again invited a member of the crowd onstage to sing. There was a very lively atmosphere throughout the show, in around the middle of the show the band performed a cover of “Knowledge” by Operation Ivy and at this point they invited a member of the audience to play the guitar on stage with them, unfortunately the first person that they invited on stage was unable to perform the song, however she was allowed to play the tambourine with Tre at the back, the next person invited up was able to play the song and therefore at the end she was allowed to keep the guitar. Something that Green Day are known for doing is when they perform “King for A Day” they mix it with other songs on this day it seemed to be quite a few familiar songs, in fact they mixed it with 5 other songs these where “Shout”, “Always Look On The Brightside”, “Teenage Kicks”, “satisfaction” and “Hey Jude” all of these songs are quite popular so everyone k new the words. The band finished their main set with the song “Forever Now” however then went on to do two encores. The first encore they performed “American Idiot” and “Jesus OF Suburbia” which also included about a minute of Billie standing as if he was on a cross. The second encore was slowed down and acoustic and included an acoustic version of “21 Guns” which I extremely enjoyed. The band finished the show with “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” and then all members came back on stage to take one final bow and confetti was blown everywhere.
I can honestly say that this was one of the best concerts that I have been to in my life and I would go to something like this again.
