Title: The Fiancée Farce
Author: Alexandria Bellefleur
Series or standalone: standalone
Publication year: 2023
Genres: fiction, romance, LGBT+, contemporary
Blurb: Tansy Adams’ greatest love is her family’s bookstore, passed down from her late father...but when it comes to actual romance, Tansy can’t get past the first chapter. Tired of her stepfamily’s questions about her love life, Tansy invents Gemma, a fake girlfriend inspired by the stunning cover model on a bestselling book. They’ll never actually meet, so what’s the harm in a little fib? But when real-life Gemma crosses Tansy’s path, her white lie nearly implodes. Gemma van Dalen is a wild child, the outcast of her wealthy family, and now the latest heir to Van Dalen Publishing...but the title comes with one tiny condition: she must be married in order to inherit. When Gemma discovers a beautiful stranger has been pretending to date her for months, she decides to take the charade one step further...and announces their engagement. Gemma needs a wife to meet the terms of her grandfather’s will, and Tansy needs money to save her struggling bookstore. A marriage could be mutually beneficial...if they can fool everyone into thinking it’s a love match. Unexpected sparks fly as Tansy and Gemma play the role of affectionate fiancées, and suddenly, the line between convenient arrangement and real feelings begins to blur...but the scheming Van Dalen family won’t give up the company without a fight, and Gemma and Tansy’s newfound happiness might get caught in the fallout.

Who knew being honest and direct could be so sexy? Gemma (right) spares no time in taking a little white lie about them dating told by book nerd Tansy (left) and turning it into a deal that could benefit them both. Confidence is hot!

The Fiancée Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur
Alexandria Bellefleur knows exactly what a girl wants. Gorgeous love interest? Check. Book-related career? Check. Marriage of convenience that sparks an enviable romance? Double check. Bellefleur is in the LibraryReads Hall of Fame for a reason.
I have been desperate to get my hands on The Fiancée Farce for months, and when I tell you I had to stifle a scream when I saw that I was approved on Edelweiss, I’m not kidding. Normally, you have to be careful getting your hopes up so high when you only have the summary of a book, but I was hooked right away. Gemma and Tansy had such palpable chemistry, Bellefleur beautifully designs their complementary dialogue with such spark and sweet banter. Gemma is a swoon-worthy love interest, especially with some angst to kickstart her journey to do a little emotional development. Tansy is very sweet and as a book lover, it was so fun to see the shy bookstore worker get some attention from her beautiful crush.
If you saw the cover and, like me, immediately made grabby hands at your screen of choice, you absolutely must get your hands on a copy. You won’t regret it!
I received an advanced digital copy from Edelweiss and was not required to give a positive review.

coffee of the day & current read ✨
I had to get my first sugar cookie iced latte of the season this morning! It was just as delicious as I remembered them being.
Avon Books approved me for an ARC of The Fiancée Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur earlier this week. I couldn’t help but start it right away! I did not expect to receive an early copy but I’m currently obsessed 😍

My review on The Fiancée Farce by alexandria bellefleur
Oh my god I fucken love this book. I do wish there was a little bit more 🌶 but I loved it all the same. I liked her other books I read yes but this one had be hooked. like holy shit. The way it was written was beautifully. The romance? Aaaaa. I melted reading every damn page. I couldn't stop reading it! The way it was supposed to be a fake dating marriage thing that turned into the most romantic relationship ever 🤩😍 words cannot express how much I fucken love this book. Tansys book nerdness and boldness how she grew from the beginning of the book and same with Gemma she grew a lot and learned a lot about herself through the book. Like how she loves tansy. Also I love the character names just I love this book. It's sweet, fun, a hint of spice, beautiful. An amazing little love story that I wished would never end. And it makes me even more excited for my own wedding with my fiancée. I wanna marry her right now find someone officiated and just marry the love of my life snd no one can tell us otherwise. I love her so much and she's my world. Just like tansy is everything Gemma wanted. Thank you alexandria bellefleur for this amazing beautiful book!

If you miss the feeling of those cute 2000's rom-com's you used to watch in middle school but would prefer it as a book and a lot more LGBT , I cannot recommend The Fiancée Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur enough.
This book was so funny and adorable and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's probably my favorite book of the year and it's December, loves. Absolutely cannot wait to read more of Bellefleur's work.
