I finally watched the croods: a new age and have a headcanon

Dawn will be scooped too. She shall be scooped and picked up like a weightless feather by Eep. Just like she does with Guy.

Dawn will be doing chores but Eep wants to hang out, but Dawn has to finish first. But she’s taking forever. So Eep helps her by scooping her up and sprinting to the kitchen where the dirty dishes need to go

Then she runs to the farms to be watered, then the seal-chickens, then those mammoth cow things, and then they’re done. All while carrying her cause its faster of course!

Dawn has no idea what is happening.

She tries to convince Eep that she can walk but its a no cause they are faster this way. So she tries going for the ‘aren’t I heavy’ angle

And that’s how Guy ended up being scooped by Eep’s other arm.

And that’s also how Thunk and Eep started racing again. With her running while carrying both of them as added weight and less mobility...mostly less mobility

Why does DreamWorks likes to focus so much on parents in their sequels?

Shrek 2 was about Fiona reuniting with her parents and introducing them her husband, Madagascar 2 was about Alex finding out he even had parents, Dragon 2 was about Hiccup's parents getting back together, Kung Fu Panda 2 was about Po learning what happened to his parents, Boss Baby 2 was about the former main lead learning how to be a proper parent, and Croods 2 was about Guy choosing between his two pairs of adoptive parents.

Mind you, I don't dislike any of these storyline settings, but I find it interesting how so many are saved for sequels, as if they were saying the best way to progress the story of a character is to remember where they came from before they can know where they will go. 🤔

Or something... I don't know... I just think it's a funny detail. 😅

Makes me wonder what they would do in a Megamind sequel.

I just saw The Croods 2, and I was so pleasantly surprised.

*Spoiler warning*

When Dawn was introduced I fully expected it (with a disappointed “so it’s this direction they’re going huh”) to go into jealousy and hostility and for the movie to pit them completely against each other. But instead they put them together. And I shouldn’t have, but I was so surprised! She literally was so happy the first time she saw her and just, ahhh, it’s so refreshing! I didn’t even know I needed this before I saw it.

Seriously, they always pit the girls against each other in movies, and you almost never see girls just being friends, especially when a guy is involved. They managed to do the love triangle trope without them suddenly seeing the other as a threat and treating the other as evil. And it felt so much more natural!

It suddenly made all those movies feel so wrong and off and you really see how much they usually keep women from each other. The scene when they went over the wall was amazing and I love it!

Gah, I really love this so much!!!

The jealousy trope is dead, long live girl-friends!
