i hate how commodity and capitalism has ruined so much storytelling . i hate how sequels and prequels and whatever else all ring like merch sales; i hate that i as an author have to include any social media following i have as a marketable trait; i hate that everything feels like a xerox of a copy of a dream of a memory.
i hate that my nostalgia has been turned into profit. i hate that companies fear consumer backlash so no real commentary may be made; i hate that companies care more about quantity over quality. i hate that so many artists and creators are being overworked to the point of complete collapse rather than being allowed to tell the story their way. i hate that every point of representation has to be fought for. i hate it i want us all to go back to living in a cave .
when you sit with friends over a bonfire and the night is getting long and people start telling this slow, almost hypnotic story - in this quiet voice, like they don't expect you to listen while they say the most fucked up shit you've ever heard - that is storytelling. who cares if the punchline is car hand hook door. storytelling has always been about community, about us all sitting in the dark, choosing to fill the silence while the last embers are dying. we forgot that storytelling is spellwork. hallucinating together, our breaths held, waiting for the ending we already knew was coming.

How the fuck did D&D: Honor Among Thieves actually look so much better costume wise than Amazon Rings of Power??? D&D budget: 150 Million; Rings of Power: 465 Million ($89.4 million per episode)
Rings of Power:
D&D: Honor Among Thieves
(Theses are extras/goons)
The villainess is bitchen!
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THESES COSTUMES???? THIS IS WHAT I EXPECT OUT OF A FANTASY MOVIE!
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Alright so I just want everyone to know I saw the new DnD movie last night and it SLAPPED
It was so funny, the characters were well written, and it had some beautiful practical effects. I know enough about DnD to understand some of the in-jokes and nuances, but background info isn't necessary to enjoy it. Also the costumes and set design were gorgeous.
I went in expected some Marvel overly CGI'd quipfest but was so pleasantly blown away by an absolute masterpiece. It was so FUN!
I cannot recommend this movie enough, especially if you enjoy DnD or just like watching actors having so much fun. 10000/10

okay, so, the costume design in tbosas is brilliant and contributes a lot for the storytelling (and I could talk about that on another day, specially regarding the tributes' costumes), but a really, REALLY small detail I like from the movie is that in the arena scene in the book, sejanus is (as far as I can remember) wearing his academy uniform. he went straight to the arena. in the movie he changed clothes; he went home, probably. but what catches my attention is that the clothes are design-wise very more district-like than capitol-like (putting it side to side with marcus' clothing to show it)
we don't see these kind of vests or suspenders at the capitol; we see mostly suits at the zoo scene, por example. I feel like it contributes to what this scene wanted to pass:
sejanus would rather die as district than to live as capitol.

Could you draw Maureen and cass in the parade of the 75th hunger games, thanks
Love the moment where they are entranced by the D12 costumes so much. I know for a fact they were just thinking how the colors and light played around and how amazing it would have been to capture in a painting ☹
(Just like me fr)
