Y'know, the Eye in TMA is honestly very reminiscent of the way God is portrayed by many monotheistic religions, but Christianity in particular really sticks out to me in the execution

The idea that the Eye has full omniscience, it Sees you no matter where you are or who you're with, it feeds on your fear in an attempt to make you subservient, it scares you into obedience because it always Sees

Also, the idea of the Eye being capable of smiting people? Yeah, that is very similar to the way God is thought to strike down those who don't cooperate and go his way

Even Jon being a Christ figure ties into this; with Jesus being the son of God in Christian mythology. Jon dies to save humanity from the Fears, which could also potentially be an allegory for sin with people who fall to them

Jon dies to rid the word of the Fears, much like Jesus died to rid the world of sin

daisy and alice. let’s talk about them.

daisy’s given name was alice but she went by daisy.

alice isn’t alice’s given name, but she goes by alice.

so they’re opposite. you guys catching my drift? i’m thinking they may have kinda opposing archs. in tma, daisy was unknowingly marked by a fear. she fought against it with everything she had once she knew about it, and was eventually over taken and killed by it. (well technically a loved one killed her because she told her to)

so i’m thinking alice may be on her way to knowingly becoming an avatar with no aversion to anything that life may entail. she’ll embrace it use it to take over and kill other people. (maybe she’ll even kill a loved one!)

and i’m also trying to think what the opposite of the hunt may be. the eye? because the hunt is about chasing something down and finding it and the eye knew where you were all along? the slaughter? because the hunt is all about a specific prey to target and the slaughter is just pure violence with no discernible victim or aim? am i making something out of nothing? maybe. there were like 39 characters named michael in tma so maybe their names are totally unconnected? but who knowsss??? it’s a mystery babyyyyyy!!!!!
