I am convinced Odalia somehow got her brand removed, that is why she is willing to go along with the Emperor's plan. She may be a selfish bitch but even a selfish bitch has survival instincts. Notice how we never actually see her brand because of her sleeves.
She and her kids would be spared, but she was willing to sacrifice Alador since he still has his brand. "I've been meaning to find a more competent business partner anyway." She had already considered getting rid of him.
Oh that is cold.

You know the way Odalia talked to Alador and talked about “finding a new business partner” and “reexamining their deal”
Like what was going on with that family...

So I was rewatching the confrontation scene between Odalia and Alador during Clouds on the Horizon. And noticed something I hadn't picked up on before.
Alador has a limp. Or at the very least some sort of abnormal gait (there are several forms of abnormal gaits). He walks kinda similar to I do on some of my bad days when my gait isn't lining up with my own legs like it should.
And checking real quick his walk cycle from when he was a kid in Thems The Breaks Kids. From what I can tell its still normal then.
So something happened.
Something that I guess that lead to Odalia being able to run him into the ground a lot easier. And why he hadn't had a day off in 5 years.
Which is ironic because I'm thinking there's probably a good chance that it was a factory accident.
Also adds some credence towards his attitude towards Amity during Reaching Out. Because we know he wasn't fully aware of the Belos situation.
But he was still trying to be protective. And he knows she's powerful.
But if he was in some sort of accident 5 ish years ago. Then powerful or not he would still be trying to keep the kids out of having what happened to him to them.
Even if his full connection is missing because of the neglect.
@pizzaboat Considering our previous discusssion thought you might find this post interesting

Hot take!
People who headcanon that Odalia hit Amity are invalidating her trauma.
Abuse doesn’t need to be Violent or Sexual to be abuse, Amity was abused, but not once did it ever get physical.
By having a headcanon that she was hit by Odalia you’re basically saying that she couldn’t have been abused without violence being involved, and she can!
Amity is great representation of emotional abuse, and how her emotions and anger made her lash out and hurt others around her.
I understand how people want to put there feelings or find some extra angsty scenarios for there favourite characters, but please remember to respect different traumas and validate what others have been through.

Did odalia know the full extent of belos’ mass murder plan? At the very least she had to have been unaware that everyone with sigils was doomed to die. She was extremely confident that they would be excused from the apocalypse, that they would be rich and powerful in the new world, that *she* would live like a queen, so its fairly possible she didn’t know that she and alador wouldn’t make it there. She wouldn’t have complied if she knew it was going to kill them (hopefully, she’s not the type to sacrifice herself so her kids would have a better life)
Which is funny when you think about it, bc it wasn’t her business what belos did with the abomatons but it was her business keeping her high status, trusting that belos would uphold his end of the deal like blights uphold theirs (I ignore whatever genocide you’re committing with my tech if you make me rich and powerful). Instead she was being played by belos and in the end she lost everything she would’ve anyways (her business, her “partnership”, her control of her kids), not by falling for it, but by being an absolute piece of trash of a person.
And it ties in with the irony of her using oracle magic: she is suckered by a version of her future she wouldn’t have gotten to see anyways into a very real (and overdue) future where her need for control takes away any nonexistent possibility of the aforementioned “belos will make me powerful” future. She was so focused on that one, she wasn’t able to see the one developing in front of her nose, caused by her mistreatment of the people around her.

Okay this may be a stupid question but why is young Philip a brunette? And he’s now blonde?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Was it the curse? Did he change his hair so he’d be more convincing to Hunter that he’s his uncle? Because we know Caleb was the blonde one. Just why?
Two, this probably would have been answered if the show hadn’t been cruelly shortened but what do Skara and Boscha’s parents do? I mean we know they’re business partners to the Blights but how so? Cuz it seems they run a pretty self sufficient operation with Odalia doing most of the selling and Alador doing the inventing. What were the others, selling to other areas on the isle? More manufacturing? Oh well it’s probably a random question though but I just wondered.
Anyway, can’t wait for Saturday!

HE IS BAAACK
Just few of my thoughts on the episode.
Beware my next text will be containing spoilers to Labyrinth Runners.
Sooo my absolute favourite from the whole episode was the fact and Ed, Em and even Mattholomule were joining multy tracks.
Ed embracing that he is also good in beastkeeping and potions too and not just in illusions.
While Em is goind towards healing, separating herself from Ed, like they don’t need to study and do the same thing all the time.
And Mattholomule actually joining illusions, because he saw how useful it can be when used right in Through The Looking Glass Ruins and also nooow he is in the same track as Gus.
Tumblr media
The other thing I loved was Bump, showing it in his way that he cares. Agreeing to the plan of the emperor’s coven illusions and trying to keep his students safe. Getting just as shocked at the trick as everyone else and putting himself between Ed and the coven guard (with the illusion teacher who I was thrilled to learn more about). EVEN TENDING THEIR INJURIES. And this is what makes him a really great principal. Everything he does most of the time is for his school and kids.
Tumblr media
I loved Hunter and I am kind of mad at Darius for not going after him. But hey, at least he is still in one piece, eating hex mix and hiding in the school, but in one piece.
Tumblr media
And also now everyone at school gets to know about Belos and his plans. I really hope Hunter will stay at Hexide with everyone else to help.
Tumblr media
Ps, Amity and Willow were interesting too, however I loved Hunter more in this episode.

Another thing about the trek towards Zora’s Domain is that almost every monster capable of using a bow is using Shock Arrows. They take advantage of how wet the rainfall’s made the ground by spamming the one enchanted weapon that’s the known weakness of the Zora, which several Zora tell you multiply times they are so sensitive to that they can’t safely handle these arrows with their bare hands.
If Calamity Ganon really wanted to dispatch Mipha as quickly as possible, he should’ve just sent Thunderblight there. The fact that he didn’t suggests two things.
First, that there might be some kind of elemental affinity required to pilot the Divine Beasts, let alone override their pilot’s permissions and hack into the controls. He functionally had no choice but to play an elementally themed matching game with which piece of himself he sent where.
Second, and this is way less likely and more speculative, he didn’t just want to defeat the pilots. He wanted to prove that even a splinter of himself was vastly better than the originals at their jobs (from a twisted perspective of “better”). Like, it wasn’t enough for him to just stunlock Mipha in place with his homebrew Cryonis rune. He had to make Waterblight Mipha, But Moreso, with a piercing spear type weapon with a superior reach to hers (A fishing spear, no less, which seems extra cruel to his aquatic opponent). Thunderblight mimics Urbosa’s classic sword-n-shield fighting style, but is also way faster and more efficient at activating his stunlocking electricity magic than her, and shows that off at every possible opportunity. Fireblight doesn’t just mimic Daruk’s shield, but can also create explosive vortexes by manipulating the oxygen he’s burning into creating blowback and enchant his own weapon, even turning his own hair into a weapon to make up for his lack of mobility and speed compared to the other Blights. And Windblight is a frickin’ anti-air laser cannon in addition to being just another aerial combatant in a realm where everyone else can fly and shoot.
He just rolls up into Vah Ruta all “I have mastered all four elements, and I’m going to prove I’m better at Water than you, the princess of the Water people! I am going to be the very best Water Boy!” If this is actually what he’s doing, then he’s not just figuratively teabagging upon the Champions’ remains, he’s also actively griefing Link, Zelda, and the communities each Champion came from.
I mean, as a vengeful ghost, this fits his MO, assuming he’s got enough marbles left that there’s more than a simple search-and-destroy algorithm happening in that ghostly, gaseous head of his. There are loads of stories of yurei, onryo, and even tatarigami not just lashing out at anyone available to receive their unresolved anger, but actively going out of their way to psychologically torment their targets as well, driving them to desperation and even death. Clambo Gambo’s not just out to destroy everything, but is also repeatedly twisting the knife to try to get his opponents to pay attention to him and keep paying attention to him for as long as he allows them to live. He’s like some kind of horrible outside-context internet troll. Only, in a world that’s completely forgotten the internet ever existed, a troll loses the luxury of self-justification through “irony” and trying to prove how much smarter and more in control they are than their marks, because all everyone else sees is a huge asshole being a real jerk for seemingly no reason.
But, also, if come TotK this specific iteration of Ganondorf doesn’t end up being the funniest motherfucker in the whole game, I’ll be a little disappointed.

Oh your back
society au question: the heck is hunter in this.
Also what are Vee and her friends doin
Hunter is slightly similar to the Blights, but Belos's right-hand-man and also sort of an experiment. The main experiments of the place, as said before, is a bit of radiation, mostly a mind-control utopia-ish place. Vee and Hunter are the products of different sections of creating life.
Vee's section is mainly from grabbing a bunch of mutated animals and trying to combine it w people DNA. this resulted in Vee being able to look almost completely human or like the basilisk form at will. She managed to wiggle free one night and wound up in Camila's backyard when Luz was sneaking out. She promptly mimicked Luz and learned a whole new routine on when to dip out when Luz checked in on occasion. It was actually pretty easy, considering how little Luz interacts with her mom on a regular basis. Luz didn't find out about this until she made a sudden stop at home and found an imposter talking to her mom.
Vee's otherwise 'ight tho. Most everyone already thought something was Off w Luz but almost all of them were very weirded out by the sudden change in personality around town. She still ended up befriending a few other kids who hadn't spoken to Luz much previously. It's an alright life.
Hunter was more part of a fail-safe experiments, should humanity completely fall, they can rebuild them via clones. He's the latest in a long line of previously failed experiments, either due to issues in the DNA or because they realized what was going on and started to fight back against the lab. Yes, they are all still clones of Belos's late brother. The infamous Hollow Mind scene is basically Hunter finding where they threw all the bodies of his older brothers. Literally how does one even recover from that.
But in a wider basis, Hunter is someone who leads squadrons out into the mutated territory to perform experiments or calm the public. He's mostly just a bodyguard/decision maker of these squadrons. He despises the Blights and how lax the trio are about everything and has made it his mission to hunt down Luz and bring her to 'justice.' Somehow, it always ends in a semi-decent conversation and Luz getting away.
