I started my NH just before my birthday in December 2020, and after that I started to try and put together ships.

For example, in NH specifically - Bud and Eunice were the first ship I ever spawned. So immediately, I tried to draw out my designs for them. I couldn't quite get what I wanted out of my head back then.

So for comparison...

Here is my designs for the two of them, two years apart... It was bad, besties. It was very bad...

But it's ok! Safe to say I think I improved a lot.

The most stupid idea I had, but wanted to share. Obligatory Beach Episode(tm) and PTM!Yuu asks Ace or Deuce to help them with thier sunscreen (their probably the top 5 boys in the school they trust not to make it weird) but as soon as one of them starts, Yuu doesn't even hear Jade's thoughts, they just get overwhelmed with Jade going "Bruce-from-Nemo-smelling-blood" mode at what he's seeing (Yuu in a swimsuit, another guy rubbing cream on them).

Or something, as per usual, I get silly ideas when I'm very tired.

PTM Jade is funny in that he knows, logically, that Yuu's interactions with their friend group, especially Ace and Deuce, is purely platonic. There's nothing inherently romantic or sexual about them rubbing sunscreen on their back. In fact, Ace is more likely to spirit a huge glob of sunscreen and slap in on their face as a joke than to let his hands wander.

But Neptune help him, he's jealous. Why can't he be the one to help you? He's just as dependable, maybe more so! And, in a more possessive area of his brain, Jade's lowkey fuming at the sight of someone else being physical with you. He wants it, he can't have it, why does someone else get the privilege of touching your skin!

No one else can tell of course, he has the same pleasant smile on his face. But Yuu? Yuu knows, and Yuu is considering just covering up in a baggy shirt.

Continuing the JJK posting: Gojo is such a mystifying character.

Action show where swinging out the gate you introduce a character who is so incredibly powerful you then have to, before every fight, establish why Gojo can't just show up and fix the problem in seconds. His existence weakens the stakes of everything. The rest of the show you are backflipping ridding yourself of him. He jobs two major bad guys off the gate and every subsequent extensive fight with them feels like cleaning up his leftovers. Put him in a box, he's ruining the game balance. So absolutely broken. As a writer it makes your job so difficult, but it's also the entire point of him. "Hey I want to write the single most badass character of all time who can do the most insane shit but I will also engage with that", rock on king.

I think he's most interesting when understood as somebody who is fundamentally alien and removed from ordinary human thought processes. In his world there is absolutely nothing he cannot do, and the thought 'maybe I can't do something' just doesn't occur to him. He is capable of doing whatever he wants and of killing anybody who tries to stop him from doing what he wants. If he is not doing something, it is because he does not want to do it. If he wants to do something (kill all of his superiors) and he's not doing it, it's because he doesn't think it's the most effective route towards what he has decided to do. I think this informs the majority of his actions (and, importantly, what he doesn't do)(murder). I think he's reasoned out that you should have a general reason to do things, and it feels like sheer luck that he places value and meaning in human life, and as such you shouldn't kill them without a strong reason. Watching the flashback arc, if I hadn't seen a) JJK and b) Naruto and you asked me which shitty teen became a law abiding school teacher and which became a mass murderer I would have guessed the wrong ones.

Anyway, the way I like to think of him, he's a raging narcissist with a god complex to match. Horrifically, he's actually a good teacher, but he is also a teacher as an ego/'raising my child army' thing. He would be the kind of mother who is a good mother but lowkey had kids also as an ego/unconditional love/lots of attention/'surely my child will worship me' thing. Gets randomly into new hobbies, obsesses over them, gorges himself on the novelty factor, before dropping them in a week once he gets too good at them. Rinse and repeat. The only hobby that does not eventually grow boring is annoying people, so it's his only hobby. Geto told him age 15 that he'll never have any friends if he keeps on casually reminding people that they live on his sufferance, so he developed another back-up hobby more conducive for friendship of helping people forget that they live on his sufferance. This has convinced him that he's a god of subterfuge, intrigue, and trickery. Does eat women out, but is convinced that this makes him God's gift to women, and is actually pretty terrible in bed because his partner's desires never even occur to him. Is convinced he's as good at sex as he is everything else. Sex is actually the one thing he's bad at, but he's not ready to hear that.

In S1 he overall left me with the general impression that his entire idea of how high school worked was sourced from anime, and as such decided that being a teacher involved nothing but field trips, sports games, beach episodes, sports festivals, etc. Did not know how the classroom component worked so he skips it. Jossed, but also left me convinced that it would be very funny if he was an immortal 150-whatever years old and had founded the high school himself out of, you guessed it, an ego thing, and never once properly learned how high schools worked and just arbitrarily made his own aging students the new principals so he could continue engaging in training the kids who are too Misfit (TM) to get apprenticeships and living his fun slice of life anime life and raising a child army of kids who will worship him any day now. Annnyyyy day now. Any day now.

The Beach Episode is going to be a cute little detour where all the apprentices of the Clans just so happen to have their salt-collecting trips synchronize, because extreme coincidences are funny imo

So the full cast of the Beach Episode is this;

THUNDER: Poppypaw, Honeypaw, Cinderpaw, Lionpaw, Jaypaw, Hollypaw, Brightheart, one other adult (probably Birchfall)

SHADOW: Owlpaw, Ivypaw, any other apprentices, Stumptail, Tawnypelt

WIND: Breezepaw, Heatherpaw, Harepaw, Brushblaze, two other adults

RIVER: Ripplepaw, Rainpaw, Willowpaw, Dapplepaw (Including morbid eaten-by-fish joke), Lakepaw, Otterpaw, about 2 or 3 adults

There is a serious reason why the apprentices are all sent btw; All the adults were recently forced to go through a very long journey, and they've decided it's actually important to learn how to travel a long way.

It's not part of the code to teach this skill, but they generally agree it's a good idea for apprentices to go on at least one Salt Patrol before graduation. If not as apprentices, then at least as young warriors.

Plus, apprentices aren't 'missed' like full warriors are. The Clan doesn't RELY on them yet, so you can spare the apprentices to go on a trip and just pick up their chores in the meanwhile. Gathering salt is easy but time consuming, and you need strong necks to carry it all back.

SO it's the perfect time to show apprentices who don't normally hang out interacting! Heatherpaw and the Other Boy™ are probably playing the Clan cat equivalent of Volleyball

With the new sims episode dropping today, I just can't resist rambling about all the stuff they've missed in the 5 years worth of game updates-

Like there's platforms and curved walls to build with. There's ceiling paint and turnable stairs. There's a whole new lifestage. God I can't wait until they have another kid with one of their couples and go "let's seem 'em as a toddler!" and get whapped in the face with an ✨infant✨

Not to mention all the packs and their possibilities. I could still see a possible spooky week with the Realm of Magic or Werewolves (let's be real it would be werewolves). Snowy Escape would make a great vacation spot for a Christmas/winter special later on. I could see The Beach Episode TM with Island Living, some alien hijinx tied in with Strangerville, some retreat to the countryside with Cottage Living and/or Horse Ranch, etc...

They SO need to get My Wedding Stories for the Dab and Evan wedding too so that they can actually go through the planning process and have to deal with a My Wedding Stories style wedding. They even mentioned High School Years themselves, so I'm expecting at least that to be joining the chaos soon to really give the Dalien teen drama experience.

Oh and kits are a thing now. Can't wait to see their reaction to having so many kits that all have...so little to them. Just bite sized bits of content. The sims is about to be a wild ride, with all the possibilities now

when i read this post from @emotionallychargedtowel and they said this about the game jihyun plays with jaewon right at the end of episode 10:

“the show makes a strong case for normalizing expecting a lot from–and being willing to offer a lot to–one’s partner... In a very real sense, Ji Hyun is saying, “if you distance yourself from me, I’ll pursue you. If you pursue me, I won’t distance myself.””

i couldn’t help but think, humour, hope, that the universal queer song, one of my queer anthem, would work for this show. and by god, clearest blue by chvrches does.

“if ever i try to push away, you can just keep me, tell me, tell me, tell me you’ll meet me tell me, tell me you’ll keep me tell me, tell me you’ll meet me will you meet me more than halfway?”

bc this song is just so jaewon at the end of episode 9, thinking about jihyun, wanting to have him, but needing jihyun to ‘meet him more than halfway’. just like what was said above, we so often talk about boundaries and limits in relationships, dont give your whole self away, as if restraint is equated to self respect. but a relationship is exactly where you shouldnt feel bad for holding those expectations, or for wanting to offer more. jihyun says in that game “if you take two steps back, i will take three steps forward”; i will meet you more than halfway. i will not just meet you and wait for you to take that final step, to close that gap, i will not expect that of you when i can do that myself. and i love that neither jaewon’s distance nor jihyun’s pursuit feels vilified in the show. its understandable, we hate those that hurt their partners and push them away, but we equally shout at the screen when someone who’s been pushed away doesn’t just give in. we have that ‘move on, he’s not worth it, hes not worthy of it’ response. we flip between that and the ‘i can fix him’ mentality, but when its something like this situation with jaewon, jihyun is not a fool, he doesnt respect or value himself any less, for waiting, for being patient, but also being steadfast and determined in his feelings for jaewon. he gives more bc jaewon in that moment cannot meet him halfway, and so he takes those extra steps, continues to reach out and think of him and maintain open communication. he outright refutes jaewon’s attempts to distance, and i love that that is what ultimately brings them back together. bc what jaewon needs, as he says on the beach, “you said if i was having a hard time, i could reach out to you”, and is the poignant line from tms “if its hard for you, i’ll go to you”, is someone that he can expect more from. he has perpetually played the nice guy role, the never wanting to upset anyone, always mature, always there to support others role, and what he needs is the selfishness to not only think about his owns feelings like the therapist says, but the selfishness to expect more of those around him, and have someone he can depend on, someone that will go that extra step when getting there was hard enough.

i really really couldn’t recommend listening to this song and reading the lyrics enough bc there’s rawness and honesty and desperation in how simple and to the point they are, and i know they can’t do it bc heartstopper beat them to it but that final kiss could easily be played along to the climax of this song and it wouldve broken me all over again, so i’ll just end another favourite part of the lyrics that i think work perfectly;

“just another time that i go down, but you are keeping up, holding to a hope you’ll undermine, never to be reversed”

anyway so the premise is genuinely me being bad at minecraft so... it's like still the first week's since cnunki has fallen down the sky he doesn't know SHIT and his two closests* friends** are memers for nature so it's kind of hard for them to tell what's genuine advice and what's them joking about/at them. also, they're not sure what everything IS. so there's the canon beach episode tm where they're trying to introduce cnunki to different parts of the server and they happen to approach what (is? will become?) tommy's exile . so. that's fun! Good vibes!

they both enter the water and tell cnunki that its safe and that it won't do anything to them. cnunki hesitates because they've said this about berry bushes & sand & gunpowder so he's Not Quite sure... but clulu insists so much and ckissu isnt laughing too meanly so surely it'll go right... and st first it is! the water is Too Cold but he's trying to accept new sensations without freaking out. Hes feeling drowsy, thought. Too tired all fo the sudden. It's too cold. Before they realize it's too late and theyre so deep into the water and too far away from ckisslux to even scream. He's a prince and he doesn't scream and he doesn't cry, but nobody said he couldn't be scared.

(yknow how little flames will take a bit to disappear, as if fighting for their own right to exist? Being bright is what justifies it being alive. They still disappear.)
