wow, what a delightful request :D the only problem is that it turned out too long, so i hope you don't mind me posting it in parts by character. anyway, behold: Part 1, Harrier Hawke

1. Do they have any crafting hobbies?

No, not really - while Harrier inevitably picked up plenty of useful skills during his life, none of them interested him outside of their immediate purpose. His cool cousin Bernard, however, has one - following his and Determination’s fascinations with bones they occasionally delve into bone carving and/or squishing Harrowhark-Nonagesimus-style (and yes, he did make a little boner charm once)

2. Do they wear perfume/cologne? If so what scents do they prefer?

Not initially - until act 2 Harrier has very little money/desire to - he considers just being clean enough and would rather have to deal with just sweat then sweat mixed with some cheap shitty thing. During and after act 2 however he starts to use ever stronger flower/herb scented perfume to somewhat hide the smell of healing ointments he uses more and more for his arms (would be stupid to out yourself as a bloodmage just after settling down somewhat) and also cause it’s a thing that rich people do; and since Harrier is also rich now -  why go against the current? esp when it’s nice stuff and not whatever Red Irons were bathing in (and drinking occasionally)

16. Do they have or want kids?

Before and during act 2 he entertained the thought occasionally, a bit more often after reclaiming the estate - Leandra did talk plenty about him getting married and settling the Amell-Hawke family back in Kirkwall (even tho after twins’ deaths Harrier seriously doubted his ability to take care of anyone, not mentioning actual children). After Leandra’s death tho he drops it completely - he never says it aloud but he seriously afraid that his family is somehow doomed to die terrible unnatural deaths, so he is scared to call or even think about anyone as family (even tho he considers Anders and Merrill part of it)

18. How easy is it to become their enemy?

Easier than it seems, harder than it should be - he simultaneously looks like the kind of funnyguy who doesn’t hold grudges (he absolutely does) and while he’s way of plenty of people he usually waits till the very last moment to decide that he hates someone and considers them his enemy (he is a charmer at heart and tries his damn best to not get things to open confrontation. his best isn’t very good but still) So in the end it’s pretty tricky to figure if he is still in jokey-neutral stance with you or he’s already tipped into animosity.

27. Has a chance encounter ever had an unexpected effect on them?

Once upon a time when Harrier had not developed his magic yet some wandering minstrel passed through one of many settlements of Ferelden and stayed at the local tavern, agreeing to play through the evening to cover a bit of the room’s price. Same day Hawkes were passing nearby and risked staying at the tavern to pass the cold and stormy night. Malcolm and Harrier went down to the common to get their food room while Leandra stayed in the room with twins - and so little Harrier witnessed surprisingly soulful rendition of Dane and the Werewolf - or at least that little bit of it he managed to listen in while Malcolm picked up and payed for food. Even after going back to their room Harrier tried to hear a bit more, plastered with his ear against the wall (Leandra made him to bed eventually - with great effort) And so was born Harrier’s lifelong dream - to become a minstrel himself and captivate people with a chord and a word. He got the chance to actually pursue it somehow only by act 2, when he actually got money and time for a tutor.

The Gladebrook Christmas Special

More like one final look around before I demolish the place for New Years (not deleting/restarting! Just some flattening). For 2021 I’ll hopefully document Gladebrook’s development better.

I didn’t think things through, though. Before I went around taking pics I was measuring things using the paths so everything’s a bit messy. 😂

So let’s start off with the airport/entrance.

It’s nice! I like it, but I think I’ll like what I’m planning better. It’s a bit crowded with all the trees right now.

To the left was this empty space, right in front of Bangle’s house. It doesn’t really serve a purpose. Who knows what this will turn into...

To the right, you’re on your way towards resident services. I covered up some of the paths I was counting with but Rudy fell asleep on one. See what I mean by the crowded trees?

Resident Services itself. I like the cliffs but I’m not quite sure what to do behind the cliffs since they’re so tall and block things. Right now there’s a little “orchard”. It’s really only two of each fruit tree. On top of the cliffs are peach trees, Gladebrook’s native fruit. I recently redesigned the flag; I made it easy to recolour so I can change it up each season.

To the right of Resident Services is this little park. It doesn’t really serve any purpose either. It looks nice, though. Just noticed I got lazy recolouring the furniture. It was all supposed to be white, haha.

Continuing right, is the first residential area. There are four houses: Rudy, Bianca, Reneigh, and Portia live here. I spent a long time breeding gold flowers for Christmas time for the whole island but I think they look the best here.

Up the steps and you see my first mess. This is my shopping area with the museum in the middle, Nook’s to the left, and Ables to the right. The museum’s seven-tile plot is annoying so I have to redesign this area a bit to make it look how I want it. On each side of the museum are the rocks, three and three.

Here’s Nook’s. To the left is a little sitting area which leads into another small park.

Here’s Ables. The path continues to the right to my farming area, and behind Ables is the secret beach...

Let’s go back over by Nook’s, and continue left. This place is relatively new. When I first started ACNH the shops were here, then I moved them over to where they are now next to he museum, back in September or so. Then I moved the campsite here, then I moved Ankha, Lionel, and Kiki’s houses here. And now it’s a little park. There was park equipment in here before but now I’m using it for building snowmen. Continue left for the beach. It’s not a very exciting beach, so I didn’t take pictures of it.

Down the steps is another residential area, only three houses this time since I couldn’t fit a fourth. Lionel lives on top, Ankha and Kiki are below.

As you can see this is where my promenade is, too. It’s a lot smaller than it once was.

Back towards Resident Services, further to the right, is my house. I recently moved the cliffs back a bit and gave myself a bigger yard. I didn’t want to give myself a beach house but I didn’t really have much choice early game and haven’t felt like moving since. My yard has red and white flowers like the rest of the island for Christmas but the cliffs have pink and orange lilies since those are my favourite colours. I debated on removing them and putting some more Christmassy flowers up there but decided it was too much work. 😂 The cliffs were much fuller at one point, and now that I changed things a bit, it’s more bare. I’m not sure I like it. I’d like to change it up while I’m doing re-terraforming everything but I don’t have any ideas yet.

Continue right for my east beach. It’s more tropical over here and Molly and Rolf live here. There’s a little stand, too.

No need to tour the beaches since there’s nothing on them. They’re being used as flower storage! So let’s go up the path...

This part is my most recent terraforming feat. It’s not very exciting but it fills out the space. Early on a house was here, and when the house moved spots, I put in a park. Now that the park is elsewhere, I decided to place some cliffs.

Ever since I started ACNH I’ve had no idea what to do with this upper part of my island. The western side of my island was so developed and there was no reason to move anything over here, so I decided to make it more natural. It’s cramped, though, and awkward in spots. I might change some things later. Lionel and Ankha used to live up here, and everything was much more “garden-y”, with a fountain and lots of flowers.

Across the bridge is the entrance to the campsite. Ankha and Lionel’s houses were side-by-side and when I moved them over to the developed side of the island, their porches remained, and it gave me the idea of making a split path like this.

And that also gave me the idea to put the campground here, surrounded by cliffs. It’s cozy and I like it a lot. Before, the campsite was on the top right of my island where my farm area is now, but I was never happy with it. Then I moved it to where the shops used to be on the developed side, where the park is.

I had some extra space over here and tried to put a “secret” area with an “outdoor bath” or whatever the item is called. It looks kinda dumb.

Finally on the tippy-top of my island is the farming area. The farming area I’ve been trying to find a spot for since summer when vegetables were datamined. “Oh the vegetables will come soon, better find an area for them.” How foolish I was... Right now it’s being used for pumpkins, mostly. To the left is where I breed my my gold roses. My second file, “Fae”, lives up here. She was supposed to be a more “natural” character but I haven’t found much use for her and I considered deleting. Right now her house serves as a farmhouse at a Christmas tree farm. If you visit, I’ve roped it off so you can’t go inside! >:) You aren’t missing anything, it’s not furnished. Under where the pumpkins are is a little stream that separates the farm from the side of the cliffs the campsite is on (as you can see in the above pic!)

Here’s what I got from Google Translate, combined with my very rudimentary knowledge of Japanese grammar. Don’t quote me on this. It’ll likely be quite inaccurate.

Interesting facts for Angel: - “Joke is not through” - I’m assuming this means that others’ jokes at his expense don’t get through to him, or he takes it all in good fun. Or, HIS jokes don’t make sense to others. - “Demon sword Caliburn enslavement” - Also a tricksy one; from the wording of it, I’m assuming it means he’s ‘enslaved’ Caliburn. - Feminist. No joke. - “No mercy to those identified as enem[ies].” Duh! :D

Interesting facts for Lightning: - Cynic - “How it is called Lightning, which was quite strong enslavement familiar.” From what I gather, this means that Lightning got his nickname from a powerful familiar demon he uses. Which means he’s a Tamer, and we might get to see him in action soon, hopefully. :D - Something about either hating not showering for a week (quite long, if you ask me), or not minding that he doesn’t shower that long and he does so quite commonly. I guess that goes with his scruffy appearance. - “Weak and cleaning.” Probably means he’s slovenly, which wouldn’t surprise me.

Now, for Lightning’s Meisters: it looks like he has all five of them, not surprising for an Arc Knight, but it looks like he got one of them (Tamer) twice. Again, don’t quote me because I’m guessing here based on images of the Exorcist ranks list I found online.

And, ah, if I could ask for a teeny favour, if you can: does Godaiin also get a character profile in Volume 11? I really like his character, so would you be able to upload his profile if he has one? If he doesn’t, or if you don’t want to, that’s perfectly fine.

Oh, haha, there was nothing ‘clever’ about what I did! I’ve enabled my keyboard to be able to type Japanese characters. So I copied out the facts and then put them through Google Translate. I took a first-year Japanese course in university, so I understand mostly how Japanese grammar works. I looked at the results and interpreted them in the way that made the most sense to me. You can talk to anyone who knows a little more Japanese and they would’ve done a much better job than I did. :D Nonetheless, you’re welcome.

And thank YOU for uploading that character card! What I wanted to know most of all was Godaiin’s first name, which I do now.

Your translations seem pretty darn accurate as far as I can tell : ) “Joke not through” means that Angel doesn’t get jokes. I had to look up フェミニスト in like three dictionaries before I was convinced that it still meant “feminist” in Japanese, but he is indeed a feminist against all expectation. “Enslave” is a strong word; maybe “employ”? “Lightning” is apparently a title given to some sort of master Tamer/Aria (I think?). I don’t know what the second “Tamer” meister is. I don’t think it’s been mentioned before. He’s bad at cleaning and bathing, like you said.

I have volume 11 here, so I guess I might as well paraphrase the fan question corner thing they’re doing. It’s got some neat little facts.

-Angel’s middle initial is A, not O. The times when it was O were typos. -Angel is half English and half French. He and Lightning are canonically multilingual (Angel claims to have dabbled in 8 languages!). They are actually literally speaking Japanese in their scenes. Not just for the reader’s convenience. We’re just gonna go with the explanation that all the foreign exorcists are good with languages because it is, in Lightning’s words, “cooler that way.” -Rin sleeps with his eyes open. A lot. It creeps Yukio right out. -The sandwich Shiemi eats in Chapter 46 is made of herbs from her garden. It was “bitter, but good for you. Probably.” -Paku is doing fine in regular school despite seeing demons all the time, thanks for asking. -You can get TO cram school with magic keys, but you have to take the long way back unless you have a key for your next destination. -Rin is the easiest character for Katou-sensei to draw. Angel is hardest because hair is hard. Lightning is also kind of hard because she’s not used to him yet. She can’t pick a favorite character because she’s spent years of her life developing and identifying with each and every one. -Mephisto is impressed that you noticed how his fingernails only look pointy when he’s not wearing gloves. But you shouldn’t worry too much about it. He’s a shapeshifter and he can do whatever he wants. -If you want to know what class everyone is in in regular school, you’re gonna have to figure it out yourself from the school festival scenes. 1.      coke or pepsi: Coke!!! Drinking Pepsi where I live is basically blasphemy. 

2.      disney or dreamworks:  Both excel at different things. Hard to pick just one, really. Depends on my mood. 

3.      coffee or tea: I feel like by now most of you know, but Tea all day everyday. 

4.      books or movies: books

5.      windows or mac: windows…. I have so many issues with macs i swear the computers can sense my fear.

6.      dc or marvel: Gotta go with marvel. Their universe and interwoven story lines are A+.

7.      xbox or playstation: Playstation - it’s what I grew up with as a kid.

8.      dragon age or mass effect: neither. don’t play them.

10.  cards or chess: Cards - I feel like there are a lot more games you can play with them.

18.  cooking or eating out: Eating out can be fun, but i’m also cheap and really like to stay inside, so probably cooking more 

19. Spicy food or mild food: I like a bit of spice on things, but overall most of my food is on the milder side. 

20.  halloween/samhain or solstice/yule/christmas: Halloween is good but I love the atmosphere surrounding Christmas and just the general good cheer and attitude. 

21.  would you rather forever be a little too cold or a little too hot: Where I live is super hot so I’d have to say cold. Also, when you’re cold you can always put on more layers. There’s only so many things you can take off when you’re too hot.

22.  if you could have a superpower, what would it be: I’ve been adamant about this for several years. I would choose teleportation. Just think how much money you’d save? No more plane tickets, no more paying for cars/car insurance…. You’d also never be late to anything, ever and your commute time would be zero! And if a bad guy is near you you can just teleport away!

23.  animation or live action: Depends on the subject matter. If it’s more fantasy I’d say animation. If it’s more entrenched in drama I’d say live action.

24.  paragon or renegade: ????

25.  baths or showers: showers  

26.  team cap or team ironman:  I love them both dearly but I have to say I’m partial to Cap. He’s just so pure and good.

27.  fantasy or sci-fi: I really love both, but I think I ere on the side of fantasy

33.  paperback books or hardback books: Paper back only because it’s less expensive. I understand that hardbacks are superior though.

34. horror or rom-com: Probably horror, although it can’t be one of those super cheap horrors that rely on jump scare or whatever. It needs to be legit and interesting. 

35.  to live in a world without literature or music: What would be the point to life???

36.  pastel colours or dark colours: Pastels

37.  tv shows or movies: shows - you stay with the characters longer and there’s more time for character development and complicated plots.

38.  city or countryside: City. I like the country for like… a few days, but then after that I get really board. As much of an introvert as I am I still need things going on around me to be happy.

39.  if any other zodiac sign could describe you, what would it be: Don’t get me started on this pseudo-psychology….. (*whispers* prob a virgo)

40.  if you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be: Oh god this is hard. I don’t really listen to albums, mostly just individual songs that I like. If I had to pick one, though, at this point I’d choose Hamilton. 

41.  cinema or theatre: cinema simply because I rarely, if ever, go the to theatre. I know I enjoy it, but it just happens so rarely that I can’t really compare the two.

42.  if you could be any fictional character’s best friend, who’d you be: Yuuri Katsuki or Kuroko Tetsuya. I feel like with both we’d get along really, really well.

43.  smiling or smirking: Smiling. Smirking has a rather negative connotation, no?

44.  are you an ‘all or nothing’ type or are you more consistent: Consistent

45.  playlists or your whole library on shuffle: Playlists. If I shuffle things I always end up skiping until it gets to the song I actually want. 

46.  travelling or staying at home: Traveling, but it can’t be 24/7. I definitely need time to recharge at home once in a while.

47.  books or fanfiction: Both are great, but tbh like most of us I have only really read fanfic recently. I have a few published books that I’m currently trying to get through, though!

48.  If you could live in a fantasy world, what world would it be: Probably Harry Potter, but only if I was a witch. Having magic would solve so many of my problems!

49. your favorite cartoon: It’s kinda up for debate whether it’s an anime or cartoon, but I’m calling it a cartoon made in the anime style simply because it’s not Japanese made. Avatar the last airbender/Legend of Korra

Chum Drum Bedrum Ok I love this song so much. The singer completely describes how I am as a person: hella awkward, long and lanky, and flowy. He represents me on so many levels. 

2-1 by Imogen Heap Not a lot of people know about this song but I find it so intriguing and interesting. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, though. 

Wide Eyed by Animal Collective This song is what it sounds like if you're on LSD, I imagine. 

Five Night’s at Freddy’s Song 1 This song is very strange - it’s based off of a horror computer game - but you have to admit it’s jammin.

Seaboard Rise 49 Literally heard this song at a music museum and it’s the most lit keyboard song you will ever hear I guarantee it!!!

52. favorite anime (or tv show if you don’t watch anime): Yuri on ice (of course), Death Note, Death Parade, Kuroko no Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, and Erased. (sorry couldn’t pick just one!)

53. which social media platform are you most like yourself on: Tumblr in terms of personality I suppose, but since I try to not post everything about my life on here there are a lot of things missing that don’t really come through. I’d say facebook simply because almost everything about me is uploaded on there, by one person or another. I’ve had my facebook since I was in 7th grade, so it’s really documents my life almost. I’m not really into any other social media other than those two. So in conclusion, tumblr in terms of personality, facebook in terms of being able to open up more about my life.

54. What are some of your passions: I am in love with the brain. I think that it is akin to the deep ocean or the universe - there are so many things we do not understand about it. It also houses our personality, every thought, memory, emotion. Every little nuance that makes us human. Yet it really is just a collection of water, lipids, proteins, and neurotransmitters, yet somehow in all of that we have developed a complex sense of self. Are our personalities really separate entities, or are they just a complex construct that our advanced brains have superimposed to make sense of the chaotic word that we live in??? Basically I want to research some sort of neuroscience/biopsychology related field. 

I also love genetics for similar reasons… I find it fascinating that some sort of elemental coding for our functioning lives inside us. 

I’ve also found a new passion for writing as of late :)

I was planning to work on my fic but then @krasnyzmeya posted this tag and said she’d like to read my answers so obviously this is what my productive brain chose to do! But it was fun haha (also bby your answers cracked me up so much, especially your mom’s quote, she’s a legend) 

1. Coke or Pepsi: oh man I drink way too much diet coke

2: Disney or Dreamworks: I love Disney songs, but i’ll have to go with Dreamworks because you don’t get more brilliant than Shrek. Also How to train your dragon makes me cry and I think the internet needs to thank them for the utter weirdness that was the Bee Movie. It gave birth to some quality memes.

3: Coffee or tea: Tea, because I like just about any type, whereas I’m very specific about my coffee. But I drink a lot of both.

4: Books or movies: Books.

5: Windows or Mac: I was raised by the biggest Mac fanboy this planet ever saw, so that’s what I’m most familiar with, haha.

6: DC or Marvel: DC for the comics, Marvel for the TV shows, both for the movies. (is this cheating?) (whatever that question is cheating) (you can’t just pick one)

7: Xbox or Playstation: Nintendo DS. Tbh I never played the other two. We did have a playstation at home but it effectively became my brother’s.

I did play the harpsichord for a couple of years (& if you think it’s a lame outdated instrument just remember that hannibal lecter plays it, so u might wanna be careful, just saying) and used to sing kinda well but now it’s all gone

34. Slow burn or Oneshot?: Definitely slow burns. Big books and 300k word long fics with heaps of subtle character development give me life. That being said, I have a couple of one-shots I really love out there, and I think I’d enjoy writing one.
