You know how when somebody steals your debit card information, they'll sometimes make a series of very small purchases to check if your card works? Like $1-$5? Somebody did that to me this weekend and I had so little money in my account that they managed to overdraft it just doing that.

Fortunately I use a credit union that won't hit me with nightmare fees for a fraudulent overdraft, and I'm housing/food secure, so instead of this being a huge deal it's an exhausting but ultimately minor annoyance. I am also mildly entertained by the thought of whoever this was going to the effort of getting my card info only to buy a couple of songs/apps/gacha pulls or whatever on the apple store and immediately running out of money. Hope you got your my money's worth, buddy.

So, since I began my 9-1-1 & buddie journey back in december last year I've been reading a lot of fics (like a lot. According to my AO3 history I've read something like 2,6k fics since December 15th), working my way through the buddie tag oldest to newest.

This means that even if I got into the series late, I get to somewhat experience – even if it's second hand and through the lens of fanfic writers – what it was like to see the episodes and promos as they dropped the first time.

What this also means is that I get to sit there and read fics speculating and guessing what will happen all while knowing what's coming up next. I've spent the last few days reading so many fics exploring the (actually quite interesting) period post season 5A, many of which have done an excellent job figuring out various things for Eddie to do after he said he quit the 118: working at dispatch; working as fire marshal; finding something completely unrelated to firefighting; staying unemployed until he goes back to the station–

–And now I've finally reached the day the first episode of 5B dropped, and I am absolutely giddy to see what people will do with the fact that he ends up as the twitter guy LAFD Liaison. 😂

I never looked into Per's other stuff 1) because finding Randy's music was so much easier than the others and I gave up, but also 2) because I incorrectly assumed based on his everything it'd be the kind of music I don't really like. But i've pinpointed what i don't like- I just don't like the growl-yelling type of singing. Heavy instrumentals can be great! The Bridgerton lawsuit ended up settling last September but like, I'm still stunned by Barlow & Bear's sheer audacity. They lifted lines verbatim from the show and even incorporated whole chunks of the orchestration into their songs and put the Bridgerton LOGO on shit and had the balls to be like, "oh it's fair use, it's parody, we didn't take enough for it to be infringing." And a lawyer just... let them make that argument in public.

Like, it was so plainly infringement. You can't be out here profiting off unlicensed adaptations like that and not expect to see blowback, damn.
