#that new set is gorgeous
Text
I'm almost certain that the Doctor excitedly running around his new TARDIS was just David Tennant. They put that fanboy in the new set, pointed a camera at him and just let it roll.
Edit: I knew it, I was right!! Just watched the podcast and they said the running was David's idea.

Day is a stronger woman than me; because if this man had looked me in the eye and smiled, while saying that he will take care of me and my family, and cooking for me!! I would have been the one getting in one knee and asking him to marry me. Revolution can wait besties, this man wants to make me happy.

Jumping off from that last post but a thought I have all the time is that men Bow Out of having long hair after growing it out for a hot minute bc it starts to look ratty... and they were just expecting it to be gorgeous. but they’re still using their Men’s Short Hair Care Methods on their long hair, and the thing that kept the short hair healthy was never any of the hair care, it was just the fact that the old hair kept getting cut off before it had a chance to be damaged.

Time for the seventh installment to the Komachi Takeover! It's another Strings Cover from me! I was NOT expecting this theme to go so well with strings instruments, but I'm glad it does! The singluar whistle flute sample is doing WONDERS in here! This came out sounding so beautiful, I love it <3

I once tried to get into assassin's Creed games too because they are so fun looking and i love historical setting games but my hand reflexes are Just shit with controllers and the game I got doesn't have any settings. So im sad I can't play.:( but I like watching others play
Yeah there's literally no excuse for modern games not to have totally configurable controller settings its one of those really minor accessibility things that drives me crazy.
Ubisoft has, i would say notoriously, fumbled the bag when it comes to storytelling and narrative so like the overarching story of assassin's creed leaves... a lot to be desired, however I will say that you can tell their dev team takes their environmental design and setting aesthetic so seriously and with full passion. The game worlds are beautiful and intricate, accurate enough to let history nerds find all their favorite points but still fantasy enough to keep some magic. In all, it's a great game for watching and even though I've played the first Few i've kind of moved it to the Youtube pile these days. Damn those games are beautiful though.

Avatar2 made me actually insane. I could while watching it see the threads of like ten really good interesting character stories within it that all kept getting smothered under James taking three hours to wobble around so many points that I don't even know WHAT narrative he wanted me to take other than a rehash of "ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLOITATION AND COLONIALISM BAD"
I'm losing my fucking mind. It's like he used state of the art stunning visuals and tech to make a supremely shitty movie of a really interesting 20 book long scifi novel series that doesn't exist.
The entire movie was a repeated process of me going "oh hey there is a lot really cool set up you have here for- ok yeah. Yes James I got it. Yeah James...James I got the devastation and cruelty of exploitation and consumption. Yeah I got it when you spent ten minutes showing animals set on fire by landing ships it wasn't subtle James. I got it the first ten times so if we redirect over - wait why are we doing this plot point again?? James you did that already what about- wait how long were they with this island culture anyway???"

you know i wonder where the essay is, i certainly don't have it prepared, what it reflects about society, that the '99 trigun was a fun action western-sci-fi anime with a plot that wove itself out slowly and had plenty of heart that got serious eventually but was also a quirky romp through most of its run
and the '23 trigun stampede is a dystopian sci-fi set in a crumbling desert that can barely support life with a dark plot that drags you under immediately and also does have a lot of heart but ultimately appears to have the theme of scavenging that heart from a place that gives you no reason to believe it exists
like, as time capsules i feel like it's unintentionally saying something about us, about where we've come to and come from, that the same basic story is told in two such wildly different ways, after less than a quarter-century
